Chapter 70: Heroes Reunite

The chapter you have all feared has arrived! A POV of Tomoki!

I have never felt this dirty before. Good thing it is a short chapter.

Btw, thank you for the kind donations up until now. They really motivate me a lot! ^^

While flying through the sky throwing shining lights out of his godly spear at the demon race and burning them off, the empire’s hero, Iwahashi Tomoki, was in a state of confusion.

Literally the moment when the gate opened and were in the phase where they would assault the fortress and take the head of the general…

The people in the surroundings disappeared.

When looking below, there was a crazy big black hole. People, weapons, a part of the demons as well. Having a dispersed look as if seeing a CG, people were being sucked up by that hades.

The hostility that was being directed to him. From the opened gate, Tomoki noticed the magic shot and he used a destruction light from his godly spear to disperse them all. At the same time, he remembers something important.

About his comrades.

Ginebia, Mora, Yukinatsu.

The comrades that fought alongside him and protected him.

Tomoki activates a necklace-shaped sorcerer tool and searches the surroundings. He soon finds a reaction of the three.

Because of the silver boots the Goddess provided him he was able to float in the air without using magic power, so he was able to invalidate that crazy trap, but his comrades were standing in the ground normally.

Because of that he was the first target of the attacks, but with all the overwhelming equipment that was clad in his body, it was nothing.

“Did you fall you three?!” (Tomoki)

Saying that, Tomoki pursues the reaction. The reaction of the three was a bit below. Thankfully, it was practically on the same place they were.

When he reaches them, they were all gathered up in one place and floating. But that spell may have been incomplete, they seem to be slowly lowering.

“You are slow Tomoki! The replica of the silver boots is not complete so if there is something heavy we will fall!”

“Oi Yukinatsu, are you referring to me? I can’t just let that slip by”

Ginebia, who is wearing a plate mail and is clearly the heaviest of them all, lifts an eyebrow and reproaches her comrade’s words.

“Don’t fight. The two of you are heavier than me after all!”

““Of course we are!””

A third voice rings into the conversation that seemed like it would transform into a dispute and the two answer with the same words. Compared to the chibi girl Mora, the difference in height was clear.

Thanks to the creation of Yukinatsu, who came from an alchemist linage, the three somehow were able to save themselves. Tomoki also strokes his chest in relief.

The exchange between the three also helped as an ingredient to calm down.

“I am glad that you guys are fine” (Tomoki)

“Tomoki… I am your shield. I won’t die without protecting you” (Ginebia)

“Don’t frankly make that kind of face, so embarrassing” (Yukinatsu)

“We are totally fine!” (Mora)

Because of the heartfelt words of worry from him, the three appeal their wellbeing with blushed faces.

“What a grand way they got us with, how cocky for a mid-boss. Mora, call Nagi please. For now we will retreat. Without confirming the situation we can’t decide to continue the battle” (Tomoki)

“… You are right. Just how many soldiers did we lose here?”

“What an absurd trap. The one who made it is crazy in the head”

“Understood, I will call Nagi” (Mora)

“Yeah, I am counting on you. There will probably be quite the amount of attacks coming from above anytime soon. Ginebia and I will block every single one of them, you can do it right?” (Tomoki)

“Of course. I won’t let you nor Nagi receive a single wound. Don’t underestimate a royal guard” (Ginebia)

“Thanks, Ginebia” (Tomoki)

Mora continues chanting an aria at her jewel, and while in the middle of giving his thanks to Ginebia, below the party that was slowly falling, a dragon was summoned. A type of flying dragon that possesses giant wings. It’s Nagi, who Mora controls.

Its emerald green scales are beautiful, a medium class dragon. It is also one of the individuals that are the closest to Mora.

“Nagi, go up! When we reach on top of the hole, we are going to retreat to the back. Please!” (Mora)

“GYAU” (Nagi :v)

On top of the dragon, while deflecting the attacks that rain, Tomoki reaches in front of the gate.

“What in the world, even the road at the back has become a hole. The rear guard is really the only part remaining” (Tomoki)

“Tomoki, let’s try to save as many people as possible by having them ride Nagi” (Ginebia)

Ginebia suggests. If they create a barrier around so the people don’t get blown away, the space Nagi has to carry people is still quite enough. These were words that had taken into consideration this fact.

“Ginebia, that is no good. First we have to return as fast as possible and report this to Lily. That is the highest priority” (Tomoki)

Tomoki rejects Ginebia’s suggestion. For him, it would just be unnecessary luggage and the mobility would decrease. A result he didn’t desire.

“But!!” (Ginebia)

“For a while now I haven’t been able to get in contact with Lily. Also, this is war. Because it is war, it is fine to just fight as much as the amount of people that died in order to repay them” (Tomoki)

“Tomoki… I am sorry. I became emotional” (Ginebia)

Just like how they have done until now, Tomoki’s words enter Ginebia’s heart and body as if permeating her. She was able to accept his words’ logic quite naturally.

“Don’t mind, it is fine if the usual Ginebia has returned. Now then, let’s go back!” (Tomoki)

“Wait Tomoki”

“What is it Yukinatsu?” (Tomoki)

“Is it fine to not look for the hero of Limia and the others?” (Yukinatsu)

Even in a battlefield that has fallen into chaos, is it fine to not confirm the safety of one of the two figureheads? Is what Yukinatsu tries to ask.

Even if she is a hero, in a situation like this, it is not definite that she was able to deal with it calmly. No matter if retreating is the priority, it is not strange to ask about the Limia hero.

“Hibiki huh. She is also a hero. She must have managed something by herself. Me being worried about her may actually turn into being rude to her. It seems she is a “Senior Onee-san” after all” (Tomoki)

Just because the said person isn’t there, Tomoki calls the other hero, who he was calling with –san a few moments back, without any suffix.

“I see. If Tomoki has something planned then it’s fine. Let’s go” (Yukinatsu)

“Yosh, Mora I’m counting on you” (Tomoki)

“Okay! Nagi, do it!” (Mora)

“Nice. But since we went through all the trouble of coming here…” (Tomoki)

Tomoki turns to the opposite direction of Nagi’s orientation, in short, he faces the fortress. What he prepares is his favorite God Spear. The cone-shaped riding spear is enveloped by light and, in time, everything shines.

“This is payback!” (Tomoki)

Determining his aim, Tomoki releases the power of his spear at the gate that was trying to close. The light that straightforwardly travelled enters a gap in the closing gate… and created a thunderous roar.

“Quite the aim there”

“Oh… Sniper!”

“Onii-chan, nice~!”

To the ovations of the three, Tomoki makes a “this much is easy” face. Just in case, he uses the necklace to check the surroundings.

“Otto. It seems the Limia Hero and the others are alright. They are over there” (Tomoki)

“Oh. Heh~ you are right. Maybe I should make a replica of that necklace next. That is pretty convenient” (Yukinatsu)

Yukinatsu, a bit slower, uses something resembling a binocular to confirm Limia’s party. Knowing that Tomoki used the sorcerer tool to search the area, Yukinatsu showed the greed of a researcher. Prove that she was now a bit more composed.

“At a later time okay?” (Tomoki)

Feeling a bit of discomfort in being a guinea pig of Yukinatsu, Tomoki responds in a vague way. To make a replica there is a need to have the sorcerer tool activated and observed for long periods of time. That time is quite a pain for him.

“You are still unable to contact Lily-sama?”

Ginebia asks. It is natural for her to be worried about the wellbeing of her other master.

“Yeah. I may be repeating myself but, does this world have the so called jamming?” (Tomoki)

The latter half Tomoki whispers it as if talking to himself. While they were flying, they catch up with Hibiki and the others. As expected of someone riding a dragon, even though Hibiki and the others were the first ones to escape, Tomoki’s side was faster.

“Great to see you are safe Hibiki-san. Your side’s movements are a bit dull, did something happen?” (Tomoki)

“… Is your detection ability low? It is the long awaited demon general” (Hibiki)

Thinking that Hibiki and the others just didn’t have enough strength to use the transmission, Tomoki points out their dull movements, but his face stiffens at her response.

Instead of the cold tone of voice of Hibiki, Tomoki shows shock at the words demon general.

“Demon general you say?! At our back?!” (Tomoki)

“That’s right. Moreover, he politely said he will wait for us to reform. Words you wouldn’t expect from someone who set such a trap. And so we are in the middle of having the rear guard fall back as fast as possible. Understood?” (Hibiki)

As fast as possible. Hibiki returns a begrudging tone at the insensible words of Tomoki.

“No way, just how…” (Tomoki)

“Who knows? They must have used a hand we don’t know yet. By the way, more than the demon general, it is the fact that I can’t get in contact with the troops that are supposed to be at the rear at all. Incredible huh, it seems the demon race is able to obstruct our transmissions. Meaning, there is a chance the demon race can intercept thought transmission. How unpleasant” (Hibiki)

“Jamming and… information leak. Isn’t that fatal?” (Tomoki)

Tomoki seems to have understood the situation. He spews out gloomy words.

“And? What will you guys do?” (Hibiki)

“What, you say… about what?” (Tomoki)

“If we encounter the demon general it will be a joint front, or at least that’s how it’s supposed to go right?” (Hibiki)

Up to this day, this is a first. Or more like, this is the first time Hibiki has smiled at Tomoki from the bottom of her heart .

“The situation is different isn’t it?! This should be the setting where we cut up the enemy encampment as fast as possible and escape right?! If we continue the battle like this, we will head straight to the bad end!” (Tomoki)

“Setting… setting huh. If that’s the case, you guys escape. I will believe that the unit at the rear will do a pincer attack with us and defeat him. Well, if we were able to contact each other we would be able to cooperate in the escape though. In terms of strategy this is totally our loss. To be honest, I have taken an interest in that demon general” (Hibiki)

In these kind of scenario, Hibiki feels a conclusive gap in Tomoki who was talking as if he were in a dream or illusion. Hibiki feels a part of her is looking at him in a cold way.

And in a part she is happily talking as if having fun. Tomoki also shows puzzled eyes as if looking at such a living being for the first time.

“You… are you an idiot?” (Tomoki)

“No way. Also, I didn’t ask you to cooperate right? In any case, you and I have bad compatibility. The selling point of you guys is the mid-range fire power. Most of my party is close quarter. Your side shows best performance when fighting against big numbers, our side when we fight against fewer. Even if we fight the same opponent, I think our steps would be different” (Hibiki)

(Also, the attitude)

Hibiki secretly adds.

“In short, you are saying we can’t form a joint front?” (Tomoki)

“I’m just saying there is no point in doing so in this case. I just don’t see the merit of uniting. I don’t like being shot by my allies” (Hibiki)

“… Then, it is fine right?” (Tomoki)

“Yeah. Just, lead the troops and use that fire power to clean up as many enemies over there. If you do that, it will make it possible for more surviving units to escape. We will take the opened path and attract the big-shot. Role division. Let’s go with that in this case” (Hibiki)

“Understood. If you say that much, make sure to nail the demon general okay?” (Tomoki)

“Of course” (Hibiki)

The conversation with the two heroes finishes.

A slight meeting takes place in both parties.

Numerous times, voices of objections sound.

And those grew lower in time. Both sides show will and determination.

The time the two armies clash once more… is close.

    1. Yea but I did pay enough attention to see that Hibiki doesn’t seem to have fallen to his brainwashing yet, I’d be happy if it didn’t ever but after reading so much to this day I can’t honestly believe in it. Mind break and NTR seem to jump out rather commonly and always end up leaving me in an extremely bad mood. Hope if or when the situations develop to that level TL gives us another kind reminder.

      1. Although I see where your coming from I have no good feelings about the people surrounding the hero’s as such I’d rather them have no relation to Makato. If anything I’d like Hibiki to join him, but as for her group apart from that loyal loli(forget her name but also seemed immune or at least resistant to the brainwashing) they get the same treatment as Tomoki and his bunch. In short I hope for nothing more than a brutal miserable death, of course I’d prefer if it was concluded in as few lines as possible to not any extra effort on them.

        Something like a report to the Leaders of the Countries stating;
Your Majesty(/s), the hero’s and their companions, it seems they have all been killed by the demon general. The tracking magic we placed on them has been lost. The army attacking the demon general has been annihilated as well. The demons continue their march. Has the goddess forsaken us?
Then back to Makato’s adventures in another world as he steps closer to eventually killing that damn bug 🙂

  2. Ugh as expected of the bug goddess she got a completely crap person as a hero. He has absolutely none of the qualities that make a good hero or anti-hero. He is just a half-assed hero and it’s gross listening to his thoughts.

  3. I can’t wait for when Waka-sama meets with the two heroes (and maybe kick that bakatomoki’s a$$)…

… Though that’s probably in a more distant chapter,,,
,,, Anyway, this battle is already in the same timeline as Waka-sama’s travel with the Lich and His disappearance, right?

  4. Hibiki seems overconfident to me… she’ll probably win but I hope she gets her ass kicked a little… although, she did already, by Mia-sama… but seems like she didn’t learn that there are enemies stronger than her and that she needs to be more cautious… let’s see if someone dies(hopefully, death makes everything more interesting xD as in reactions)…
    thanks for the chapter 🙂

    1. If anything, her current attitude is probably a result of that loss to Mio.

Previously she’s sorta in ennui due to being able to achieve anything and having never fail before.

But losing to Mio means she finally tasted defeat for the first time, which for her give something of a goal to achieve (get strong enough to win in a revenge match)
And she still observes things well enough, since she realize the strange attitude her party members made when they met Tomoki.
It’s just that to her tough enemies = actual challenge = something to look forward to.
.- . You can say she has splendidly gone to the path of battle maniac.

    2. pff, Mio is an absolut existence, like hell you can compare a loosy demon general to her. HOW DARE YOU.
I bet the Demon General is just about lvl 600-700, so he should be easy game for the hero party, so she´s completly right when dismissing the useless idiot, who still hasn´t realized the situation he´s in. Like hell, i also wouldn´t want to have a delirious rude maniac IN MY BACK, when the guy in front of me can already kill me.

    1. It’s called plot development. It happens in stories with storylines. The MC isn’t in every chapter; the MC doesn’t even have to be in most chapters. It’s the sign of a good story as opposed to wish fulfillment.

  5. I wonder if our MC is secretly involved some how. If thought transmission is a Goddess linked power, just like the blessings, it is conceivable for Waka to make a zone using his powers that would negate an firm of the Bug’s power. A “Heretical Domain” if you will (Borrowing some Against the Gods terminology).

  6. hibiki is weak REALLY weak her reasons are well made for a normal hero but not as an impresive hero, just with that hibiki is easily one of the girls that i want to stay on makoto`s good side
Tomoki, its an idiot a complete EGOistic guy who was brainwashed to call himself a hero and depend of items, he probably cant defeat a normal soldier without his magic`s and God Relics. in my mind that guy is one that he needs to die in the most brutal way possible, like having all his girls saved from brain wash, being broken by Princess abandonement when loose all ( i know like tatte no yuusha bitch princess, of course i do not want him to convert to good side in broken mind like motoyasu ), and be left alone wihtout powers or relics at an army of magic beasts ( like certain anoying kid in arifureta )
and the princess i guess i do not need to say what we want with her since i am sure everyone think same as me =3

    1. He’s actually a middle schooler, so he didn’t need to be brainwashed into being an ass, he would’ve been like that on his own. All the princess has done is convince him that harem sex is better while sitting on a throne.

    2. In camparision to the world, Hibiki with her levels in the 400s is already pretty strong. She only seems weak, cause the main character have all level above 1300 xD If you remember, the strongets human is lvl 900+ and had more time to level than her, so,if you remember that she doesn´t have a treasury of legendary artifacts and still conserved a part of what makes a a respectable human beeing, she and her story represant the “normal” Hero party.
tomoki is a useless piece of shit, but donßt give him a too dramatic end, those only end in those assholes getting more screen time later on.
Best end for him, would be something without much drama. Like what happened to the Wannabe heroes in TnY. let him meet an overwhelming enemy, let his party get killed, let him go grazy like the spear hero.

      1. cause personally i prefer for the girls to have a peacefull death instead of regeining their original senses and then remember what the fucker did to them. i think that would be far worse and really cruel to the girls than to tomoki that low life

      2. Well… I’ve only read the manga of Tate no Yuusha. Personally, I can compare Hibiki to the Sword Hero who only does what he things is right. But over time, things are not as black and white as he thought (as of the most recent translated chapter). For Hibiki, she needs to go through something like that.

Tomoki on the other hand… can be considered a mix of both the Spear and Bow Heroes. The Spear Hero for obvious reasons, lustful and manipulated by the kingdom’s (or in this case, the empire’s) princess. But like the Bow Hero, he only sees things as they were a video game and doesn’t want anyone stealing his credit.

Makoto our MC… there are reasons that he both can and can’t be compared to TnY’s MC, the Shield Hero. So far the main thing they have in common is that they both drew the short end of the stick at the beginning. That, and they both decided to pass the time by basically being merchants. However, the Shield Hero was made into the Kingdom’s enemy by half of the royal family. Makoto has yet to me made into an enemy. The only other thing both Makoto and the Shield Hero have in common other than MC status is that despite being “forsaken heroes”, they are the strongest of the “Heroes” in their respective stories.

For anyone reading this, sorry if I spoiled anything for you. Even though I have yet to read the Tate no Yuusha novels, the manga is actually very good. It was this series’ manga that brought me here in the first place. I might end up reading the Tate no Yuusha novels myself because of how good the manga is. All I know is that both this and TnY would make great anime series if done by the right studios.

  7. oho that was fun, tomoki is on the run and got a scold from the one-sama um? the way she put that she dont like fight with him and dont want to do it in the future also hold some good chance for a clash on the next time.
hope the mc come back next chap… thx for the translation!

  8. Thanks 4 the chapter!

Tomoki relies too heavily on equipments and items.
BTW, Hibiki sounds like a battle maniac in this chapter.

  9. Thank you for the chapter. You know, I think this part is becoming more and more educational. As in, the longer we go without Makoto around, the more readers will decide to learn Japanese so that they can read ahead 😛

    1. It’s not like we’re going to learn Japanese overnight to read what’s ahead. And if we all did learn, we’d be reading the raws and ignoring Reigo-senpai’s hard work. As much as I would love to learn Japanese (trust me, I REALLY do), I’d rather read what Reigo-senpai translates for us.

    1. Look on the bright side. The author spent so long setting Piece of Shit up as such a despicable character that there is no way he’s going to get a happy ending. That is what these side viewpoints do, set up an excuse to kill off or crush someone as justifiable. There is an art form called “negative reflection”, it basically uses the “empty space” in an image to draw a picture. Think it through, if not for these Tomoshit chapters, would we know that he deserves to die? We might even accidentally be sympathetic and say “tough luck, he was a good guy that had the bad luck to be picked by the Goddess against Makoto” instead of “just die already perv.”

  10. Short story is always better on (side)hero than MC,but can the life of world be any better. That bug(goddess) is really destroying the balance far into CORRUPTION in BEAUTY for sure. As for novel with similar type for the 3 hero are…

Tate no Yuusha no Naragari – 4/5
triple standard, redemption heart, Rights to Kill, and Regain his/her Lost of Righteous
Arifureta Shokugyou de Sekai Saikyou – 5/5
world corruption, anti-hero, otaku, god’s uncaring, and unnatural events occur
    The New Gate – 1/5
    weak to strong MC
    Koijiki no Wordmaster – 2/5
    Path of Knowledge and self-esteem
Death march kara hajimaru isekai kyusoukyoku – 3/5
cooking, contracting, and magic item tools

Whether or not, have you already read some of them is give you idea of same role…

Black Knight Who Was Stronger Than Even the Hero – 2/5
eroge hero(tomoki) and black knight(makoto/hibiki) – the black knight(girl) story is half similar

    1. Tate no Yuusha no Naragari – atleast they have there own since of usefulness and was badly punished.
Arifureta Shokugyou de Sekai Saikyou – They are all dead enough said..
The New Gate – never read 1 just reading 2
Koijiki no Wordmaster – still on going but the side heroes is still good compare to this
Death march kara hajimaru isekai kyusoukyoku – side heroes? I love the side heroes on this story please don’t insult them and comparing them to the 2 side heroes in this story.

The side Hero in this story is a Big piece of Cr*p compared to the novels you mentioned
They are technically useless Useless and did I already said useless?
TL should just drop the chapters and jump to where the MC is I think most readers would agree with this lol

  11. Uhh the horror, why Author just why? Can’t they just stay on Epilogue or Side Stories? We like to know where our MC is, who grabbed him? I bet it was the Demons but please give us our MC.

  12. i am wondering how the hyumans ever won a war i mean they have 0 tactial knowleg and just because your man have double the power they don’t have more men. superior numbers wins against qualliti in war. And you don’t send your elite nembers to the front in the first wave

      1. that was hyuman vs hyuman, hyuman vs demon kin got 2/4x powerup to hyuman and the demon kin got they power cut by half, but its good to note that this time they didint looked halved, using a trick on that sclae i would say they didint lose they power at all, maybe because they have the spirits backing then?

  13. Well… I don’t really know what to think. For once, I’m starting to have a dislike for Hibiki because everything I thought about her in both the positive and negative lights is becoming more accurate. It’s like she still hasn’t learned from her fight with Mio and just doesn’t like to be on the losing end. Tomoki did show a slight caring side towards his comrades, even though I think it’s more of a fear of losing his harem. And the Demon General seems the most human out of anyone talked about in this small arc so far.

Overall, I can’t wait for Makoto to reappear on the scene. However, I know it’s going to be about two or three chapters before this happens thanks to the comments section thus far. All I can say is thanks for posting this as soon as you could. Even though this is the first time in a while you posted while I was asleep. Now, time to read the newest chapter of Double Edge Hero.

    1. I’d say, Hibiki is like Esdes, or precisely speaking, like a weaker and less vicious version of her (regarding battles).

      1. Well, no, I meant certain heroine from Akame ga Kiru (it’s a manga). She extremely cruel and vicious, a battle maniac, has very peculiar and twisted ‘honor code’. That’s to say, ‘kill or be killed’ is only way for her to live as she sees the world as a place where weaker ones are exist only to be devoured by stronger ones.

So in regard of battles I find Hibiki to be a bit (for now) similar to her. Later she could probably acquire her own twistedness and I’d say it’d be an interesting turn of events.

      2. That’s basically Akame ga Kill, it’s the same manga and the same person I thought it was all along. Look, I wouldn’t consider Hibiki anything like Esdeath. The Battle Maniac department, if that can be compared then it’s going to be a while before Hibiki gets that way. I don’t see Hibiki as the “survival of the strongest” and “kill or be killed” type. Though if she became as twisted as Esdeath, poor Makoto might end up like Tatsumi.

When it comes to Esdeath’s twisted senses, I’d be more inclined to compare Mio to her. Well… Tomoe is more likely to be a battle maniac, but Mio’s love for her Waka-sama is more comparable to Esdeath’s love for Tatsumi (with the exception of willing to see him as an enemy of course and wanting to kill him out of her twisted love). Mio’s love for Makoto is borderline obsessive. Compared to Tomoe’s love for him, it is obsessive. They wouldn’t let any other women get too close to their waka-sama, that’s a given.

      3. Oh, sorry… It seems I wrote her name wrong?

Well… I agree, in aspect of love Mio’s closer to Esdeath than anyone other. Just waiting, when she becomes full-pledged yandere. It’d be amusing. And much more amusing if…

        >>Though if she became as twisted as Esdeath, poor Makoto might end up like Tatsumi.
Just imagine it, two incredibly twisted girls battling against each other with Waka-sama as prize…

BTW, I’d prefer if the story’d unravel darkness in the hearts of heroes to show that each of them has his/her own sins and passions. And then righteous and proper, justice loving Hibiki could change into a ruthelss and cruel Dark knight, step by step, unknowingly to herself being engulfed by darkness… Tomoki… Well… He’s already there. Probably, he only can expand his ‘interests’ to sexual deviances, sadism and etc. Starting from the princess…

Then side stories woud be more interesting with such plot twists…

  14. I really hope Makoto pops out in the battle somewhere and finishes the demon and tomoki…well just tomoki..F that guy

  15. Thanks for the chapter, it was less dirty than I’d thought… =_=” I expected even more brainwashing and twistedness, but nevertheless… I’m fed up by Tomoki and want to see Makoto as soon as possible. =_= I hope the author isn’t going to make us wait too much.

    1. Well, it is fairly important to have the “hero”s point of view. As much as I really like seeing the “own pace” trio at work, if the background of hero(piece of scum) isn’t set up beforehand, we wouldn’t be so happy when he finally gets slapped down won’t we? And it is these side viewpoints that teaches us that he deserves and needs to be slapped down, otherwise we might accidentally be sympathetic to the slimeball if we did not know what he was doing behind the scenes.

      1. It’s true, but I personally’d be more happy, if the author implemented that like in Kumoko, where one side story per five chapters…

  16. This is really tormenting Ima starting to hate the author
it was a good read at first until the chapters keep on talking sht about this USELESS SIDE Heroes.. I mean calling them Hero is a BIG insult to other side Heroes
I already read alot of novel with side hero but I have you to read much worse than this!
Please do tell when well MC appear! what chapter!?

If I read more about this side hero I well seriously not return to this page anymore!
I hate this chapter seriously its USELESS USELESS USELESSSSSSS!

  17. Just wondering… Why most summoning other world type of LN keep summoning useless hero… Why don’t they summon a tactical general or something along tht line .. Tht will benefit them more..

    1. because you need an idiot with no culture so the kingdom can control him and he will not turn against then, you put a dude with military experience and give him some power you will have gate(the jsfd one) all over it, the godness may be wicked but not to this point.

    2. In this case specifically we have an even more idiotic bug’ess who limited her search requirements to attractiveness.

  18. I don’t really get the hate for these last few chapters. Yeah, yeah, Tomoki’s Demon Eye brainwashing is annoying and I don’t really like that part, but I also don’t really hate it.

Skipping chapters is stupid in itself, no matter from which PoV they are.

Hibiki’s side is pretty normal, so her chapters are fine.
Tomoki’s chapters I can more understand why they would be disliked but the amount of hate they get is way exaggerated.

Regarding Makoto’s intercepted teleport I’m now pretty sure that the heroes will be in deep shit and the goddess wants him to save them.
I wonder if he will get payed for it, maybe he gets the blessing for the language so he can finally talk normally with hyumans?

    1. The Goddess can do noithing without the boy she despises the most? What a lol. What a Goddess she is then. In that case MC can defeat her with bare hands… =_=

    2. That’s a strong possibility, but you know as well as I do that the bug would never negotiate with anything she deems ugly. She would probably just tell him what to do. And the moment he tries to argue, she sends him off. And knowing Makoto, he would end up still helping after being forced to the battlefield due to the request that Tsukiyomi made before disappearing for a hundred years. That is the strongest possibility thus far.

        1. True he said that, but Tsukiyomi did make the request to help the other two if he comes by them. Besides, Makoto is not the kind of person who leaves people hanging. He doesn’t know what kind of people Hibiki and Tomoki are, so he would help them if they were in danger. If he knew what kind of person Tomoki was, he might leave him out to dry.

Besides, as I said earlier… the bug would just send him off before she could hear his argument.

      1. Even if Tsukiyomi did not request it, Makato would probably do something like that. He is kinda of a push over and he doesn’t really hate the bug to the extent of refusing to help the others just because she requested it.

  19. Hey ya’ll, first timer here. Ok, so leaving the side-heros aside. i have some thought as to the reason why what happened to Makoto happened. basically his magical power/ sekai could be felt all the way to the demon king right? so Makoto had the rings and mask made to hide and absorb any excess power from leaking out (and his normal looks) but of coarse he doesnt know it coud be felt all the way there. so when he takes off the mask at tsige doesnt that again give away his relative location to anyone who can feel his power. thus allowing someone to “barrow him” when its most conveinent. well thats my two cents

    1. As far as I recall, the mask really doesn’t do anything other than hide his face. It’s the Drapnirs (rings) that eat up the excess power. Also, the one suit of armor the dwarfs made for him eats at it too.

      1. I thought the ring stores a portion of the power while it uses another portion to cast concealing magic on his aura hence he needs to replace it and throw them away after ones fully used. Also why that crazy adventurer girl was able to use its power to blast a hole in their world.

    1. This is a back time event, we all know what happened, Makoto was tossed into the demon’s flanking force and got into a fight with Lancer and Sophia and created the Lake of Falling Stars.

      1. Damn it! Links are screwy, thought it was a new chapter (Chapter 91), but it was just a link back to chapter 70!

        Sorry for the necro.

      2. It’s also a spoiler for people like me getting through the first time. Maybe a mod should delete it?

  20. Eh. I don’t see why people hate these chapters so much besides “lack of main characters”.
Here, Hibiki’s view of Tomoko has evolved a bit into seeing him as a child of sorts it seems.

    1. I don’t think we can say it “evolved”, this is a “before” event when they were attacking Stella Fort, it was her first impression of him and it looks like she already pegged him as “scum”.

“I don’t like being shot by my allies”

      Smart move Hibiki.

  21. It’s Not His Fault That He’s Not Popular!

^It’ll be funny is there’s a spinoff about the author writing about Tomoki. At least in this chapter, he decent enough. Now I’m kinda excited what’s going to happen next.

  22. Man, I can’t wait for Hibiki put that jerk brat in his place… and even less for the moment he finds out he’s been used, haha! Thx for the chapter!

P.S. I have started reading here after finishing the manga chapters, and finally caght up. It’s a really great job you ppl are doing here! Say, do you update weekly?

P.S. The pictures on top of the page, where did you find them? I suppose the blond girls are Renbrandt’s daughters? Hahaha, he wanted to get Makoto into Academy City (espers?! LOL Bad joke, but didnt resist), only for Makoto land right into his hands LOOOOOL

  23. This is the point where other world people gets transferred other than the MC is good.
just shows that the Protagonist isn’t just someone randomly chosen and was buffed up with OP powers from the start.
See Tomoki. he’s a scumbag from having obtained powers. he might have been bullied, but the harassment Makoto experiences is much more harsh..
let’s also add that Makoto lived in a harsh world(Gravity is many times more[earth]) without any blessings from the bug.

    1. What harassment are you talking about?

Makoto was the most normal male highschool student ever. Did you never read the prologue?

And the only person that ever shittalked Makoto was the goddess. The only time Makoto ever received a bad experience from encountering a hyuman was when he was walking around without any rings and scaring the shit out of people with his absurd mana that distorted the surroundings.

Even when he started wearing a mask, the only harassment he received was thieves and assassins who treated everybody like shit not just MC because they make a living by targeting everybody due to their profession.

  24. Tomoki has to grow up, I am starting to believe he is just a stupid brat who thinks this is all a game but will end up being slapped by reality at some point. While Hibiki is seriously wrong in the head, for all her worries and whines, she is a crazy woman who just loves trills.

    1. I don’t see Hibiki as thrill loving, she hasn’t done anything that gives that impression. More like an overdeveloped sense of responsibility. Remember that the Kingdom actually got her to fight against the demons by tossing her into combat with people she knew and “responsibility tripped” her into fighting or letting the people she know die. She also took the rear guard in Stella Fort to let the army get away and when her party member died, she took it pretty badly.

So I’d call her reason for fighting an overdeveloped sense of responsibility and a tendency to take on more than she can chew because she just can’t say no.

    1. Damn it! Links are screwy, thought it was a new chapter (Chapter 91), but it was just a link back to chapter 70!

      Sorry for the necro.

  25. Thaanks for the chapter.
Just realized but Tomoku might “die” in this arc but because of the blessing of him being immortal during such night i will come back just like that u_u

  26. God, as a fellow translator (to spanish though) I can understand and feel your pain, it should be like translate a chapter of when Kokuki was still idiotic or one with Vanessa, I actually think should be even worst but the chapter was short and the moments of stupidity from trash wasn’t that much, in later chapters however could change the amount of suffer.
