Chapter 137: Business and fight

Guys, I know I have said this before, but let me repeat myself here.

I don’t mind you dropping this story, but don’t go publicizing it. It affects me in negative ways, and I am pretty sure that it isn’t doing anything positive to others either, so please just maturely stop reading and don’t go around saying it as if it’s a threat or something.

“What’s happening?”

The fight hasn’t started yet.

Even so, on my way, I voiced out a question to no one in particular.

–The situation.

The former Ilumgand has swelled to about twice its original size and has turned into a humanoid shaped thing that shines dimly.

The meat ball-looking body has turned into a somewhat slim one now.

Looks like a badly made giant.

And in his hand, he holds the body of one of his fallen teammates.

The damage is terrible and with only a look I can tell that person is dead.

By looking at the monster’s mouth, I can tell what happened to a certain extent.

“That thing moved. When he was having a meal, the students came to stop him. And that’s how this situation came to be” (Makoto)

Without any hesitation, it eats people.

I think that the will of Ilumgand is already gone.

He is not making any strange noises. Maybe he was given an order of some sort, or he is just moving by his own instincts of violence? This is still unknown.

Jin and the others are standing on the stage where Ilumgand is and taking a battle stance.

It may be slight, but I can feel hesitation, or more like bewilderment, from everyone there.

They probably felt an emotion similar to fear after seeing Ilumgand eat a teammate, in other words, a comrade that attends the same school.

“Is the Academy not sending out help?” (Makoto)

“They are coming out just now” (Shiki)

Shiki answers me.

After his words, a group of purple clothed people come out from the corridor connecting to the waiting room.

What a taste.

Purple.

The group of around ten, point their staffs at the back of the giant and begin their arias.

Their numbers are few, but maybe they have good skills?

Or is the damage to other places bigger than expected and they can’t circulate that many people?

Let’s entrust Tomoe that aspect.

“Tomoe, I want you to go grasp the damage around the town and report it to me. I don’t mind if it’s an outline only. Can you do it?” (Makoto)

“Leave it to me” (Tomoe)

The fight begun.

Jin and the others are still in alert mode without participating.

They are waiting and seeing.

It seems those purple guys haven’t suddenly told them to fight, so they are just prioritizing observation.

In the purple group they are all magicians.

They have staffs equipped and they are also doing magic arias, so there should be no mistake.

… Such bad balance.

“Shiki, help out” (Tomoe)

“Understood” (Shiki)

Shiki nods at Tomoe’s no-questions-asked order to assist her.

Shiki’s forte is earth element.

Both wind and earth are good for surveying.

If both of them cooperate, we will be able to confirm the situation in a rather fast fashion.

I sit and rest my chin on one hand.

Looking at the progress of the battle, I once again think of the method I should take.

“Ara ara, magicians getting so close. What are they even thinking?” (Mio)

Mio is blunt about the situation.

The fighting force of the Academy shouldn’t be only this.

Honestly speaking, this Academy Town is a land with no battle experience.

There’s no fights, so there’s even rumors saying that expenses on defense are being placed on other areas.

Even so, they should have the fighting power of a tiger cub at the very least.

Especially in the school festival when powers of different countries visit.

They should have them prepared just in case.

The visitors coming here should have their guards and a bit of fighting power with them to protect themselves.

The problem is if that will be enough.

If that’s not enough, we would have to step in for sure.

If we step in, the negotiation with the demon race will be more difficult.

“That’s interesting-desu wa. That monster. From the 4 basic elements, he is nullifying 3 of them. For something that’s practically a hyuman mix failure, it is pretty well made. Is that a byproduct, or was this an expected effect?” (Mio)

Hmm.

Hearing the words of Mio, I raise my head.

The 4 basic elements huh.

She refers to the earth, water, fire and wind elements.

Most of the spirits are of those elements and the majority uses it, so that’s how they are called.

Despite its disgusting outward appearance, it is high spec.

When I look, the purple magicians’ side suddenly increased their power.

It was in an instant.

It didn’t seem as if they did anything. Is that kind of strengthening possible?

… Ah.

I noticed what it was about.

“The blessing” (Makoto)

“It seems so-desu. But to increase only the firepower is not going to help much in this situation. Because everything is attack magic. And to top it off, there’s way too few using the effective element, fire. With that, they will only increase its vigor-desu wa” (Mio)

Mio said so amazed.

The progress of the battle moves as if matching her words.

The magicians released their magic and Ilumgand makes a shattering scream. It didn’t sound as if it was weakening. That was a scream that felt as if it was strengthening.

Ilumgand turns unto the purple group and rushed.

He showed quite the instantaneous power.

Well then.

It looks like the turn of my students won’t be coming for a while.

So, about the way to use this disturbance.

The success of this (don’t know what’s the factor that would state the success of it though) should be important to the demon race to a certain extent.

That must be why Rona didn’t tell me anything and still went into action.

I want Kaleneon, but I can’t overlook this uproar till the end.

In that case, how should I act?

While I absentmindedly~ look at the academy’s fighting force get torn up, I get irritated by my thoughts that are not showing signs of arranging.

“Waka, I have a rough grasp of the situation. There seem to be about 50 of those monsters around the whole area. The teleport formations and auxiliary teleport formations are being actively targeted and destroyed . There’s a few at the surrounding towns as well, and they show the same pattern. Also, the thought transmission interference, may be weak at the moment, but it looks like it is just the beginning. It may not be visible in Academy Town, but from the surrounding towns, it feels like they are slowly closing the circle” (Tomoe)

Tomoe, that was fast.

And you even grasped the situation on the surrounding towns as well.

What terrifying people.

“I see. And the battle situation?” (Makoto)

“Not good. Maybe they were more accustomed to peace than expected. They haven’t been able to defeat a single one yet. It seems they are doing well in holding back one of the monsters that is heading to the Academy’s internal teleport formation, but the other places have received a lot of damage” (Shiki)

Ara ra.

I see. They are having it rough.

If it’s not only this one but all the ones out there that have this magic negation or whatever it is, it may be a difficult opponent for students and magicians.

It might collapse the notions of the academy.

Well, no surprise.

This place has been nothing but peaceful after all.

Compared to Tsige and the base, this place is practically tensionless.

Hearing Shiki’s report, I have understood that the situation will turn bad if we don’t join in to suppress it.

“Waka-sama, those guys have been wiped-out-desu wa” (Mio)

Oh.

Mio notifies me about their wipe-out with a sigh mixed in.

For the purple guys to serve as a meal only… just how weak can they be?

“Jin and the others didn’t assist?” (Makoto)

“They did, but their way of fighting was no good-desu wa ne. They didn’t move like they did in the matches” (Mio)

How unusual.

From the reports I have received from Eris, I have heard that they are able to properly move when they fight mamonos.

Can’t be helped. It seems they need instructions.

Now that I think about it, when I was pushed into actual site training by Sensei, I was clumsy until I got used to it.

They are students as well. Even if their body doesn’t move as they want to, there’s nothing to be embarrassed about.

Well, it would be no good if they end up dying because of that, but right now I am here with them.

“Geez. My evaluation of them had gone a bit higher, and soon after, they show such a sad behavior” (Mio)

Uh, it feels like I am the one receiving those words.

“Shiki, didn’t you pamper them way too much? To use your forte element in only one kind of way, that’s the pattern of hyumans. You should properly teach them how to have a wider field of vision like the time they were fighting in the team battles” (Mio)

How strict Mio.

Why is it? I feel like all her scolding is stabbing at me.

Ah, I am the type that can only do one thing.

Also, I am the type that misses whenever I am under pressure.

I can do this kind of fights easily, but when it comes to negotiations and business, I immediately show my true self… Mh?

“… Eh?”

Use your forte with a wider field of vision…

My forte…

Magic power and defense. Also, the speaking ability. <Probably means his ability to speak with other races>

I have used my speaking ability to make it shine in different aspects, but what about my fighting power?

I hate threatening with brute strength so I don’t do it, but aren’t there many other ways to use it aside from that?

In business, at work, in dignified things, I thought I had to do it fair and square.

In basis, it hasn’t changed even now, and that’s why I haven’t gone for the power-type of merchandize.

Because if I were to put fighting power as merchandize, what’s optimum for us would be to turn into a mercenary group. We are already using Asora, so that system would be way too much of an advantage for the merchants.

To exchange lives for money feels slightly wrong for me, so that’s mostly the reason why I don’t do it but…

Then, what would be fair and square?

I feel like something meshes here…

Violence is also one of the cards I hold.

No, I wouldn’t be actively threatening.

But to be concerned about something that I wouldn’t be using constantly is… pointless?

If our surroundings get even if only an impression that we are a group that possesses diverse abilities aside from business, they will obviously see us as a threat.

Using the backing of the country, they place pressure on other merchants.

They use the position they have built up as an advantage against newcomers.

I do think that that’s an obvious business technique.

Then, to put your assets to a different use, isn’t that something similar?

Personal connections, assets, power; that’s the power of those guys.

To use your all to challenge something isn’t strange.

Isn’t it even stranger to exclude strength?

It is true that it might not be good for your image, but there’s other ways of using strength aside from hurting someone.

Right. For example: in a situation where there’s a threat that uses the same strength to cause damage?

I look at the guest seats.

I still see quite a few people there.

The academy head is probably there as well, using thought transmission to relay orders.

Seeing his own fighting force defeated so easily must have affected his spirit.

… Yeah.

Let’s try it out.

“Waka-sama, what’s wrong? Looks like your students are going to be fighting” (Mio)

“… Mio, and also Shiki. Please give instructions to Jin and the others. If they are about to be wiped-out, assisting them is also fine” (Makoto)

“Eh?”

“Hah?”

“N, you didn’t hear me?” (Makoto)

“No, that’s not it! Understood!” (Mio)

“Your orders have been received. I will instruct them to my best and have them gain experience” (Shiki)

I ask them again and Mio and Shiki run forward.

After reaching the inner part of the audience seats where the railing is, they jump down to the center of the tournament grounds, onto the stage.

There’s also the promise I made with Rembrandt-san.

I will not let a single one of my students die.

Also, just like his wife said: ‘Experiencing the feeling of being almost killed will surely serve them well in the future’.

Not like the surprise attack of the low-grade dragon. There’s surely a different meaning in fighting an upfront fight.

Well, since the time I came to this world, fights were mostly easy for me, so I am not in a position to say that though.

“Tomoe, come with me” (Makoto)

“As you will. It seems you have decided on what to do” (Tomoe)

“Yeah. For now, I will protect this town behind-the-scenes. Please have Lime and Mondo move. It is fine to have them rescue the residents. If the situation has not subsided after that, you can freely decide to suppress it. And while at it, capture one or two as samples and send them to Asora. I will leave the details of the orders to you” (Makoto)

“Let me confirm this, it is fine for me to enter the scene whenever I find it appropriate?” (Tomoe)

“Yeah, I leave it to you. I will give you the details after this place is fully under control” (Makoto)

“As you will. And then, where are we going now?” (Tomoe)

“We are going to help the people that are at the guest side. In this part, we will act as heroes of justice” (Makoto)

“… I see. You are not going for the residents, but for the people that have posts in the countries” (Tomoe)

“… I will leave that to your imagination” (Makoto)

Tomoe probably knows everything I am thinking of.

If I want the guests to escape to a safe place, having Tomoe would be the best choice.

I am a merchant, and she is my escort and close aide.

If I want them to look at Kuzunoha Company, it is easier to show them Tomoe and Mio.

My thinking is still shallow, but Tomoe abides to it.

It may be rough, but I am grateful.

My thinking is simple.

Carrot and stick.

Aid and intimidate.

The thing that’s fine for us to do when utilizing strength.

I have begun to think that the things we can do are actually many.

I feel like my field of vision has increased in an instant.

It may be rude to use the guests that are probably scared as my first testers.

Doing something like this, will it leave a good impression?

It is indeed an extremely simple idea.

I head to the guest seats with feelings as if challenging a test after studying all night.

  2. I don’t know why would anyone want to drop this story, sure, it’s not how most of us expected and most of us didn’t like part of it, but I still think that it’s better than those typical clichés out there. Each one to his/her own I guess…

    1. Thanks for the chappy!!! Screw those losers that just want attention.

Those guests are in for a surprise. Kuzonoha company is going to destroy those monsters and show the merchant guild the true power of the Kuzonoha company and who jot to mess with.

  3. Thanks for the chapter! OK, his logic takes a roundabout route, but isn’t he doing what most people thought he should do in the first place, now? Well, let’s hope for the best… 😐

      1. “peace lover child”..
        ………
        ………
Sure, let’s us just pretend we didn’t see him ignoring those innocence soul getting eaten right in front of his eyes..

While he can do something about it.

    1. As he’s not a cardboard cutout Isekai genre MC, it’s harder for you to understand. If he saves the important people himself and leave the minions to his followers, he would cause a bigger impact. For starters, they would be aware of the Kuzunoha Company and the power it’s boss holds. As in that Makoto is no pushover. This in turn could possibly put pressure on the local Merchant’s Guild. Why you ask? Because Makoto would be in a better standing with the VIPs more than the local representative is. Not to mention Makoto could make himself even more desired, thus allowing for him to expand his business under his terms.

I wasn’t saying this as Spoiler-san, I am saying this as just another fan of the novel.

  4. Sorry to hear you are getting those retarded threats. It’s kinda funny though, I mean so what if you stop reading, it’s not like the world revolves around you, people won’t even notice you. It’s like a threat made by a10 year old.

  5. I wanna say…underwhelmed… Kinda a boring chapter… 🙁
Makoto is overthinking things… (wasn’t action!) hopefully the next chapter!

    1. I think that too but i considerando that it’s to form his charapter. Did you will considered Song of Ice and Fire (game of thrones) be boring?

      1. No, I like it too. These kind of moments are what gives stories depth and immersion. They stick with you more than thin lightweight stories that you just skim through.

      2. I absolutely love it. Humility is actually pretty common among MCs, but when they take a serious look at themselves and try(and struggle) to improve, it’s the makings of a great story.

      3. I like it too but there’s a limit of contemplating about your actions and consequences, sometimes you have to be swift to reap the rewards too

  6. Thanks for the chapter!
Personally I think it’s more interesting when he actually starts thinking about what cards he has albeit it takes some time for him to take action

  7. Doh, why do anyone need to shout i quit reading this story. Just drop it silently. It kind a dick to shout it, spread negativity, and throw a tantrum. So savage.

If the preparator feel need to read magmum opus story, just read those putlizer winner or New York Time best seller all ready! You understand that this is web novel right, expect misshape or under develop plot.

As for me, i feel the story get better. IMHO, Makoto progress and struggle feel genuine and interesting. More decent plot than other OP happy go lucky isekai story.

  8. Thanks as usual!

Man this novel is great, but damn if isn’t slow at times -.-‘ Well it looks like he’s finally moving, so we’ll (hopefully) see it next chapter. If he’s doing what i think he is, then I’m glad he found a happy medium.

  9. Thanks for the chapter. It’seems nice to see that he is moving forward and thinking of using his power to his advantage. It was actually quite refreshing to see a character wonder about what the right choice would be, while still not being excessively long and winded, but still shows that Makoto is just a regular teenager thrown into a world at war, and therefore confused as to what he should do. It’s much easier for the readers to see that his choice now would be right, but that might mostly be because we can see his situation “from the outside”. Anyway it seems he is moving in a positive direction, and hopefully when he meets Tomoki he won’the be tricked or led around by the nose by him

  10. Huzzah! New chapter! Aren’t you actually going at a pretty fast pace Reigokai? It’s already been said, but forget the droppers. They will not be missed.

And Makoto! Somewhat overthinking things, but better than not thinking. He’s basically doing what Tomoe suggested it sounds like, but nothing wrong with that.

It looks like hyumans really are pretty pathetic. Not that it’s that much of a surprise. I’m a little confused about why his students are suddenly underperforming though.

      1. Yea, its their first time fighting against something that used to be hyuman, and it was someone they knew. They are probably partially in shock from Ilun eating his companions as well.

Like Amelia experienced in the fight with the lesser-dragon, its one thing to believe yourself mentally prepared for a situation and another to actually experience the situation for the first time and try and act normal in it. Most people will become stiff and awkward until they are able to settle their mental state. If they manage to defeat Ilun on their own (without Mio or Shiki jumping in to protec them) they will be able to handle the other 50 of them without much issue, having already become accostomed to Hyuman->Monster transformation battles.

  11. thank you for the translation. btw dont worry about it. every translation have people that come and go. but im sure with this LN people that reding it at your site steadly increasing.

  12. should be double chapter. It is very interesting.

    Excellent work thank you brother.

even if you use google translator to read the chapters. since only speak Spanish is jajajajjaja

I’m looking forward to the next chapter

  13. Try not to let the people who talk about dropping this get you down.

Personally I really enjoy this story. It’s only been getting better, and I appreciate your work translating it.

  14. Plz be alpha… no, that would be too much to ask. Plz lose half of your beta-ness.

    Thanks for the chapter~

  15. Hey this is my first time commenting but i just had to let you know i really appreciate what you are doing. Thanks a lot for the chapters and your time. Im sure there are others like me that feel the same way but just cbf commenting so hopefully this message gives you a little bit more motivation.

  16. Go Reigokai! Although I can’t help with any negative influence certain moronic spoiled brats cause remember that the vast majority of your readers support you! Keep up the good work!

  17. Thanks for the chapter, this deep thinking of the MC makes me remember Mushoku Tensei a bit. One of the things i like in the most this novel the most is the MC doesn’t make a 180 degree change in his way of acting/thinking after some event, he’s struggling a lot trying to depend less on his companions and change his mindset to find the best course of action on his own.

  18. The author did a good job to show the MC’s lack of experience, it’s just disappointing he chose the neutral route in the end and try to please both sides.

It would be interesting how he will explain his actions towards the demon lord though, I’m hoping he won’t be as naive as last time and underestimate the consequence of his actions.

it will probably go something like:
DL: “You have killed a lot of my subordinates and protected key figures in the human side which could have lessen their war potential and now you want the secret to block off God’s powers and part of my land?”

    Makoto : “yes.”

DL:”how are you so confident you will get what you want?”

    Makoto:”I’m the MC bitch.”
    Author:”HE’S THE MC BITCH”

    1. Are they actually subordinates though? I think they’d be something closer to tools of war, like horses or something.

Granted, something with that kind of flow would be fun.

      1. I’m pretty sure the mindLess drug monsters are just discardable weapons of war, not subordinates. Like a converted suicide bomber with one purpose and then you’re done with it. And given that Makoto is a “Hyuman” “caught” in a sudden and unexpected encirclement trap it would be very unreasonable to assume he wouldn’t be involved somehow.

Though honestly I’m expecting more. Demons can move in and out of Rotsgard fairly easily so I somewhat doubt things will just stop with the monsters.

  19. thank you for the chapter reikogai, and for lending your personal time so that we can enjoy this awesome story, it really makes my day everytime you upload 🙂

  20. So in simple terms, Makoto thought that violence is bad. Excercising physical means in business is not good. That’s the value embedded within him as a Japanese since the Yakuzas did it that way. They’re the bad guys. Makoto decides that he will not be despicable as those guys.

But now that Makoto himself is in the same shoes as those yakuza bosses, handling business, strong subordinates, people threatening his business and all, he now understands that using violence might be a valid method. Its harsh, but it works, and now Makoto is starting to embrace the way of the violence.

Yes…release the power in you. Let the blood bath begins.

But seriously though, the author works hard in explaining Makoto’s train of thoughts. Enlightening himself to the way of the Dao and…*cough*…I mean changing his naive thinking and getting mature.

    1. Summary of my conclusion of what Makato’s decision is in this chapter; “Speak softly but carry big stick”

      1. Like El Capone once said, ” You can get much farther with a kind word and a gun, than you can with a kind word alone”.

  21. Awesome!!!!
    Excited max!
    More!!!! Want more!!!
Makoto finally makes his move. There may be political challenges after this but that’s for later. What happens now is the most important.
    Thanks for the chapter!
But want more! Can’t help it ~

  22. Ohoh? Is that what i think it is?
another chapter right when i wake up at 6 am?
rei, thank you for your hard (and freakingly fast) work and thank you for this new chapter!
and that isue about dropping this novel series?
    nope, ain’t gonna happen!
this novel is too freaking amuzing as it is, so as lazy as i am, i’m checking this site daily (even is i already get an email when there’s a new chap is up)
so you won’t lose this leech even if you want to ;-P
    greeting from a dutch nutcase
    ( ^-^)7

  23. thanks for the chapter… this novel are gaining no.2 place in my novel list of MUST READ NOVEL by the way rimuru sama still no.1 and no.3 should be suzumiya haruhi and no game no life no.4 Overlord and konosuba

  24. thanks for the chapter! really like that makoto is thinking things through btw don’t mind the droppers its only normal I guess there just kids who got nothing to do but telling that you hate something

  25. Figured I would put this here, there is very little that would get me to stop reading this. The only time I drop something is either if the translation effort is so inconsistent that I just can’t deal with it, see word master as an example, the translation is so bad it may as well be machine, see some of the chapters around 100 or 200 in shield bro, thankfully this was only a small rough patch. There are a few other reasons on translation side that I drop things but I have no real good way to put what they are into words.

As for story reasons I would stop reading, a brainwash chapter, or rape… really the two things that are never handled well in almost any media i read/watch/play. For the most part, the latter won’t be an issue, but there is a looming possibility of a brainwash section. While this wouldn’t make me out right drop the story, it would make me stop reading till I see how it pans out, happens all the time in manga I read where this could go a good direction, or the author has to pull shit out their ass for it to resolve.

Like I said though, barring any of the above happening, i’m basically herpes, you won’t always see me but I’m there.

Here’s hoping you never stop… Or at least dont stop on a cliffhanger, can’t tell you how much I hate when some groups do that.

  26. I don’t understand why anyone would drop this series
as for me, i feel like the story is getting better and better and more interesting
i like how human the mc is and make blunders/mistakes too
they way the author did it too doesn’t look forced to me unike the other i’ve already read
just because something didn’t go to the way they want and they’ll drop
they want those repeatable wish fulfillment stories where everything goes the MCs favor? whats so good about cliche anyway?
    thanks for the chapter
I wanna see Raido in action again!!!
will he flaunt his prowess to the guess?
no spoiler for me please, even a little

    1. You know, a lot of people are saying that they (understandably) want action. But this chapter we have the whole thing about his students falling into a desperation rut and the monster starting to eat people. Nobody seems to care, because it’s really not that important and doesn’t deviate from the norm compared to Makoto’s thoughts.

  27. Thanks for the chapter (っ´▽`)っ. Well, it was time already, makoto will make his move ヾ(≧▽≦*)o. Honestly, the pase is kinda slow at times, but is a very good story to read. If someone want to stop reading this, then go away already, no one care if you drop this or not (╯°□°)╯︵(\ .o.)\. I dont want reigokai-sama to drop this WN because of something like that
(╥﹏╥). Its the 137 chapter already for god sake, we all should know how makoto do his things and the way he think. If someone dont like that, then he/she should have drop this serie a long ago, way would someone force him/her self to read something that its not of his/her tastes
Σ(っ゚Д゚;)っ? As for me, i like this, and i’m gratefull to reigokai for translating this. Once again, thanks for the chapter (๑¯ω¯๑).

  28. LOL, so Makoto really chose to be Brave(not True) Hero and companion to protect the people who consider on his good side, then let the Merchant and Business company die in HEART BREAK from building destruction and monster K.O. kill from Raidou’s companion.

On the Hyuman’s side this is probably consider 80% jerk and flap while 20% survive instinct.
Well, this start of Resolution on Hyuman are consider as DEGRADE instead of UPGRADE being

    1. No, he’s not doing this to improve relationship with the hyumans, he’s doing this as a neutral thing, I think he wants to “offer” protection to the city in exchange for a payment, strictly business-like. So that way when the demons question his accidents he can say it was just work and not him allying with the hyumans.

  29. Many Thanks for the chapter. Please don’t drop this novel. The story is very good and really entertaining and it gets more interesting as the story goes on.

    1. Yeah…pretty much the only threat of dropping this series that anyone and everyone cares about would be from Reigokai.
We love the story and don’t want it to end. Heck, we’re always craving for more~

    1. In this case, it means something like use the resources you have for other things besides what you usually do.
Like having Mio, Tomoe and Shiki doing more than its intended job as “merchants”.
He never uses them for things like fighting because he doesn’t want to reveal their power, and just uses them as bodyguards for him and the company.
But since power is their forte, might as well take advantage of it and have the countries’ top brass owe him.

  30. Best arc so far, every chapter leaves me wanting to read more and more. It’s not pointless, it has some thought throw into it, makes you appreciate when a MC is not just blindly overpowering something and hoping for the best.
The way the author portrays makoto makes him more believable, not in the way of “how a hot blooded teenager would act” but it shows his growth as a person, as someone thrown into another world and how he has matured little by little. He’s made a lot of mistakes but that’s the charming part of it. How he learns, by putting some thought into it and not by just some stupid revelation he had when someone said a phrase.

Keep up the good work. And many many many thanks for translating this.

  31. Go and kick some ass already, Makoto. You have acted like a little bitch for way too long (albeit he’s most likely the second most powerful being on that planet), it’s time to act like a man now.

  32. I comment cause I’am worry about you feeling negative cause it may affect your motivation please ignore those people they are just being A__ H___ .. I’am a big fan of your work and already share this to my group/classmate and some friend sometimes this become part of our discussion and it’s really fun we appreciate a MC whose development is slow and always give us excitement every chapter and about you that your amazing you can release chapter really fast thank you for your hard work…
It may be a bit drama but that is the truth..
    I heard this word..
If there is a hundred people loves you multiply them and that’s the number of people don’t..

(sorry for my bad English not my native language and my English grade is always average and my apple is eypol..)
Thank you for the Chapter always..

  33. I really enjoy this story till now. And I have no problem with the attitude of MC. Really, it feels natural for me, and not just ur typical OP MC in isekai story. I just hope that Tomoe and Mio will get more action later. I just feel that they don’t have enough justified part in last story.

  34. this chapter show us how hard it is to become a leader…. every each decision carry consequences… looks like makoto choose to save higher ranking people to get influence…

  35. Thanks for your hard work brother translator..for ppl who want to drop this series..just read another one, no need to talk crap to other my friend.. Thanks from Indonesia..

  36. Iyo.
Am I the only one who’s thinking that the Hyumans kinda deserve to be wiped out if this is the limit of their abilities? But then again, the demons are also a bunch of dicks. I guess it’s the Demi-Humans that are the only one worth saving. Come Megane-Medusas, I’ll shelter you in my house, the bedroom is this way…

    https://bakapubs.wordpress.com/

    1. That’s kind of like saying pre-US revolutionary war England and France deserved to be wiped out for their use of bright red/blue coats and regimented musket marches all packed together in the open.

  37. Lol at this kid calling others weak. He just got lucky and got a bunch of overpowered blessings, otherwise he’s nothing special (and would be way below average)

    1. Well, independent of power levels, he has a more solid grasp of tactics and the world’s magic system than the vast majority of hyumans. Poor Makoto just needed some experience and maturing to start thinking properly (and is still a work in progress)

    2. Well, except he was trained in archery by the equivalent of a modern Japanese assassin, so he has that going for him.

  38. Thanks 4 the chapter!

His thought process here shows that he lived a very peaceful life before. I doubt he ever encountered bullies outside of fiction.
In politics, war and trade, the ones who plays fair are the ones who gets crushed easily.

  39. Thanks for the chapter.

Let the whining brats drop it.
More people whinning means more people reading.
Yes, it becomes popular and more people love you. \o/

  40. some stupid di*k bashing this series??
you don’t need care a sh*t about them.
those sh*t head only can bashing and trolling. but can they make story that liked by many people or become pro novelist using your story?
it’s hard to make story. and its more harder to become pro

  41. Thank u always for ur great work…
    ^^…

U know what Reigokai-san, they are people who r hungry for attention and weak people that can’t decide something till they rant like a child and I didn’t see someone like that that productive, so really, u really not need to mind people like that for ur own health…
    :3…

  42. I’ll tell you something.

THREATENING OTHER WHO DO SOMETHING ARE OVERTAKING STRATEGY, EVEN IF THEY DENY IT SOONER OR LATER IF YOU DROP THIS THEY WILL TAKE OVER THE TRANSLATION. DIRTY MOVE BUT USUALLY USED BY MANY BUSSINESMAN OR MERCHANT.. LIKE WHAT MAKOTO HAVE EXPERIENCED RIGHT NOW.

THEN JUST DO AS MAKOTO DO, THEY THREATENiNG YOU, FIGHT BACK !

And for anyone who think makoto selfish etc, i know you performance as human would drop below. Maybe more worth called as an insect when you gone.into similliar situation like that kid

Even an adult will break his mind if he kidnapped and can’t go back .

Before badmouthing something think it again with yourself as the one.who experienced it.

My last word, hope your soul.never rest.piece, badmouthing kid

  43. Thanks for the chapter.

I was never clear what the point of the peole threatening or saying that they are dropping a series was. The translator is just translating a series that was (typically) written months to years ago, they are not writting the series themselves so saying they are dropping the series serves no purpose other then to try and gain attention. It would be one thing if Reigokai was writting the series, a reduced readership might have some sort of effect, but for translators that are working on someones elses story there is no real effect beyond reduced morale.

The only person dropping a series that is worth paying any attention to is the translator. It matters less then spit in the ocean if some random reader throws a tantrum and says they are dropping a story.

  44. I think you already thought of this, but just in case… You know that despite those self-insert angsty teens with Dunning-Kruger syndrome always complaining in your comments section, and trying to sound smart (lol), there are also truly broad-minded people here that appreciate and love your work. Cheer up, you have good taste 😉

  45. Thanks for the chapter, don’t pay any attention to idiots. This is one the best LN translation out there, I’d hate to see it dropped because some whining babies discouraged you.

I think the rhythm is a bit weird in the last chapters, we get too much details on makoto thoughts while some important details are hidden (like the exact question asked to the sisters)
It’s probably the author style, but it would so much cooler if we had just something like:
Makoto realize he can monetize his strength
Makoto realize there is an audience to do so
    Makoto kick monsters asses
Makoto then explains to his follower that he decided to create an in-the-shadows kind of mercenary company

Not sure if it will go as expected at the end if people start to ask him to go fight alongside the heroes against the demons.

    1. Much of the weirdness in the flow of the story is the result of it being a self-published WN. The job of the editor and staff of a LN company is to help the author smooth out that roughness. The wayback version of the WN being translated is probably even rougher then the more recent versions of the WN but the number got a bit odd so I can understand wanting to continue with the version started, for consistencies sake.

  46. I can say that this arc is toootally “Character Development Arc”
it’s reminding me from a certain WN, that the author is really want to shows Makoto’s character
and again, if Makoto still want to join DL, if I remember what Root says, hmm… it looks like Makoto still will be in neutral side.
well, I kindly want to seek the next action Makoto take in the next chapter
    thx for the translation ^_^

  47. I’m sure if these contemplation chapters were released in one go you wouldn’t even notice. Not sure why anyone is even complaining.

Goodluck Reigo-sama. I don’t even mind you stopping for months just so these attention seekers learn their place. People have no right to complain about something they were not forced to take.

  48. Just another rant, not for the translator but for the author/story, no malice intended but do not read if you are offended easily. Just skip after the == for the regular comment
    ==================
    ==================
Oh man I thought I only had to suffer reading something like these past 4 chapters in wuxia but I stand corrected. This author enlightened me that japs can also be put in 1~2 chapters or subtly presented in arcs into twice that long boring development chapters. Im not against this kind of growth of a person but when the whole chapter is mainly about that, it’s a different story. I know Im wrong in posting this here but I can’t understand the raw website to find the twitter of this author and rant there. I mean wow, Im astounded by this. These kind of personality development could have fit a whole lot earlier in the story and piece by piece instead of an info dump.

By his amount of power, there’s no feeling of being threatened at all so there’s nothing to stop him from just going out there and solving this problem in one go. This lack of tension coupled with more contemplating makes these previous chapters just that boring for me.

Its pitiful for a child to understand this all by himself since the dragon and spider isn’t helpful in the parenting/guiding aspect. If there was a master/mother figure around to teach him, this would have gone much more enjoyable and faster. Well like the previous hero chapters, just breath in the information and wait for the upcoming chapters then just skim back whenever something gets confusing.

Remember when Naofumi got swallowed by his shield? He got waifu and firo to help him. This kid? He’s all on his own with loyal followers instead of family members. I blame that master-servant contract he made. I was hoping that his girls would guide him better but that’s what I get from expecting from a bunch of non-humans . Thanks for the chapter.

  49. Thank you for the hard work you put into translating this Web Novel. Just to let you know I do look forward to your updates & I hope you will continue to translate this web novel.

  50. I wonder where was those rants posted at? I wanna see how those kids bitching about this when dropping because their little brain cannot comprehend 2-3 chapters of MC self monologue, which is rare and still good enough.
Why would you read this only for action? This novel has a lot of tags not only just action.

    1. To be fair, even I’m kind of fed up of the mc’s attitude of letting himself be pushed around despite having plenty of cards he can play. If he revealed even a fraction of either his influence or his direct power he could’ve handled these problems within seconds. On top of that, he’s seriously naive. He’s already been told that he holds power comparable to an upper Goddess (and according to the author’s way of increasing it, it should actually be at least an order of magnitude higher, that is at least 10x higher than before by now at least, but last time we were told about it it was comparable, so I’m going with that.) even if he doesn’t know how to use more than a fraction of that. If he was to show even the amount of magic power he had in the beginning then it’s almost certain that no one would dare to make him their enemy. I get not showing his full power since he’s not powerful to reliably fight a god that has probably had tens of millenia at least to perfect her magic, but he’s hiding way too much. On top of that, even if it is a Japanese thing, he’s constantly debasing himself in front of other people. Even when he holds salvation for a race of hundreds, he doesn’t give conditions (this part alone is fine, since it’s part of his character to help people) but then he basically lowers his position every time he talks to someone.
I hope that he gains some confidence/arrogance thanks to this, since he REALLY needs it.

      1. I like this type of growing though.

After all, there is too many novel in isekai cheat mc story be like : “I got betrayed by my classmate/the king throw me because I don’t have cheat from the start so I will use my new power wherever I want and I will not give a fuck about the world. Angry to me? I have power so don’t obstruck me!” This type of story is popular cause it is easy to read.
Try to read blade online (novel) and change his luck to super rare item or hidden cheat skill (and the monster,if the lvl is too high, you can kill it even though they only have 1 more hp) and that is how many isekai story started.
Ah, there is also those otaku mc that somehow born as a genius tactician or have hidden battle sense

      2. This isn’t xianxia, it’s been revealed since the very beginning that he hates fighting. He doesn’t even trying to fight Sofia for the first few minutes until she tried to take his head, which made him seriously mad. Still, he ain’t a hero, he never was. He was summoned to this world as a contract by his parents, nothing else. He’s just like the kids at his age that has no particular goal, naive and timid. Certainly, this monologue gives him a lot of development, unlike so much novels that just giving few sentences and then MC do the “fuck it I’ll kill everyone” vibe.

You have to know he was summoned for no particular special reason, so he has to find reason on his own in this world. His first found objective is traveling, which is why he created non-afflicted-to-any-country company, which you happen to have to make it by joining merchy guild. And second objective he got recently is about his parents’ hometown which happens to be owned by demons. Does it means if he goes with his brawl, he would destroy merchy guild (and hyumans) and he would also need to destroy demons just to clear his parents’ birth place? This isn’t like Shield Bro that has purpose of revenge, or Konjiki Wordmaster that’s being leisure and ignorantly world traveling, or any Isekai that start by MC’s death in real world. This guy has his own purpose.

I know this monologue was getting too long, but for me it just shows how incredibly deep his dilemma was; between saving his company by being hero for people he despise or getting to his parents’ birthplace by not offending demons (which indicated he’s a very family loving guy).

      3. i am pretty sure that MC already consider that but not only he dislikes going for violence directly , he also doesn’t want to attract unnecessary attention that would led to many countries trying to pester him because they wanted to covet such a very powerful fighting power that could end the demon race in an instant should he wanted to. That’s why his mindset is that of living a peaceful life without getting involved in any of the world’s dispute

      4. I support what Saiz0 said, and add to it what Tsukuyomi granted him, Tsukuyomi gavee him the choice to do whatever he wanted after the unreasonable summoning that Bug did, so unlike Hibiki and Tomoki, who were summoned as heroes, and have goals, Makoto was transported and left with no purpose, and so he is doing and exploring the choices he has, and that allows him to be naive for so long compared to the other 2 japanese, he is straighforward and simple, but he thinks about the situation he is thrown in, and it is nice to see that, the amount of Isekais with MCs that go “revenge this” or are just “unknown genius after transported” are many, and not many authors capitalize much on that and it is because it is so simple to read, here we see makoto doubt what happens and see how he develops his thinking, and that is one of the reasons why i love this part, from when Zara lashes him by his naive mentality and how he got played by Rona, after being lashed and considering go to demon camp and betray hyumans, he inmediately gets confronted with this situation, and whats better, this is a reasonable way of thinking, of how his decision on that crumbles, and then one ees how it oes further beyond chapters after, when he exchanges the promise with the goddes, when he didnt let her intimidate him, or how he even later goes to other countries and sees the state of affairs, and it is seen in his way of speaking and all how he changes

  51. il say it in the most clear form i can

WTH did i just read? did he just now ignore around 7 chapters of planning for a sudden plot change? seriosly ? over a week of nothing? also i didnt really understand what he plan or did at the last? he plans now to use fear as one of his plans? or was just imagination of pov at the last ?

i am just extremely confused. also i knew it be quite a large scale since it was mentioned its a plan to kill both heroes on same time that are not even in the city but still isnt that stupid? just 1 JUST1 is needed to break ppl like that how come the war have been going for many years? its not like the drug its new since its from larva`s time
anyway il just imagine this chapter didnt exist, this one completely confused me

    1. No, he got lost and had trouble deciding on a path, considering fleeing one way or another. Now he’s decided on a path where loyalty impacts what he does and doesn’t blindly sacrifice everything. So this isn’t ignoring all the planning but his answer to the position he found himself in where he didn’t know what way to go. Character development, basically.

    2. the leaders and many nobles of various countries are gathered at that place for the tournament and the variants are targeting all teleport locations.
by destroying the teleports they cut off escape routes as well as possible reinforcements from other places, it is very likely that the demons plan to destroy the chain of command by killing the leaders and thus causing alot of chaos aswell as strife among the hyumans for the next leader, which might lead to many deaths. this will also cause many other problems in various other fields. also this academy is the center of education, by killing the students they kill future commanders/generals/merchants/ministers… etc.

    3. 1st it normal for people to go through multiple thoughts then reach a type of epiphany conclusion. 2nd going by your logic of shiki having already develop this, he did but concluded it was a failure. It probally took years for demons to get the info on this experiment and then decide how to improve or tweak it for there use.

    4. Eh really? When does it said a plan to kill the hero? From the start,Rona never said the target of the plan. She only said she hoped Raidou won’t hinder the plan.

Also,Makoto said he will use the power if it deemed necessary, not use it to rampaging so I isn’t think he will kill those important figure.

  52. Ok Reigo-san, some people might want u to drop this tl , but much more want u to continue.
Advice(u can ignore this if u want to) : u don’t need to listen to useless comment from useless person(sorry if I offended some party)

  53. Got to love how Makoto’s weak points have become so strong a plot point and he’s finally finding his answers to the rut he was in. 🙂 Very glad you’re translating this.

  54. Thank you, both for translating this series and for maintaining such a rapid release schedule. I read Tensei Shitara, and releases can sometimes take two weeks or more – so seeing a series that updates every few days is great!

  55. Man can’t wait to see when Makoto finally meats the daemon king or limia hero. Thanks for the translation 🙂

  56. Liking how he is developing but I want him to be more… How do you say? LELOUCHE? hehehe but yeah its nice how he is waving his forces strength but you know I really don’t see much point with the demon side though yeah anti god trinkets and country that might be your parents birthplace but really? You still think that your actions there in that city might affect the negotiations? Dude she saw through the conditions and let it happen knowing full well what might happen so you know that they really aren’t going to keep their word so come on Makoto drop one or two of your rings and fuck their shit up, cripple their supplies and forces if need be to get an edge. A merchant also causes problems to profit from.

    1. actually his (almost) sole purpose of wanting to be in the demon king’s land is so he can get access to his hometown (wouldn’t be his birthplace since i believe he was born on earth) so Asora can have the 4 seasons and doesn’t really have much to do with it being his parents hometown. it’s been mentioned several times.

if he drops even 1 of his rings Academy town will be completely destroyed which would kill his students which he swore he’d protect

also Rona honored her promises. all she promised was to withdraw her troops which she did and in return he promised not to attack rona’s forces and meet the demon king.

and for the people saying they are dropping the series i have 1 thing to say. NOBODY CARES, NOBODY CARES, NOBODY FREAKEN CARES!!! if you wanna leave go ahead but dont you DARE make Reigokai sad because of it ya F*cking meatbags. dont make us feed ya to the crows.

  57. Even though I’ve been reading this novel since the very beginning I had never posted before nor had I ever read the comment section because years of reading light novels have taught me that the comment/review section of popular series it’s always full of trolls and wannabe critics so I never bother.
Always remember that for every negative comment/review there are HUNDREDS of readers who like your work but don’t bother making comments or reviews. Don’t believe me? Just check M-U: There are almost 600 people who have this on their reading list. And that doesn’t count those who don’t bother making an account there, like me.
Actually, the fact that there are so many people making negative comments here is positive because it means that the series got so popular that the trolls think it’s worth their time to bait the readers and harass the translators so they drop the series.

Remember: In the anime/manga/light novel community, there is a rule that says that the more popular a series gets, the more negative comments it will receive so don’t be discouraged please.

  58. thank for the update

Finally using your strength eh, Makoto? That’s a mark of maturity right there. Seriously, it’s fking stupid, naive and arrogant to think that strength isn’t a card you should used.

  59. Seems like you lot brain didnt have enough INT stat to understood this pieces of art.
    This is basicaly chara developtment.
Want something OP? Try next door.
Set aside those rifraf who want u to drop this.
Good Job! I am eager to read the next chapter.

  60. i liked this chapter, quiet a bit of development on makotos part (since the last few) and it’s probaly the prelude to the REALY good chapter that are to come~

  61. Thanks for the chapter~!

Good to see the cobwebs are finally clearing from Makoto’s head, and that he has a clear enough goal to act upon. Can’t wait for the next chapters!

And kiddies will always be kiddies, short attention spans, simple needs, not afraid to run screaming to mommy and all.

  62. I don’t know who told you to drop the story or why but I just wanted to say that I think you do an awesome work! I really love it and I’m really happy every time I see that you posted a new chapter! And what is really awesome is that you make me happy every few days on a regular basis!! The dedication and regularity with which you translate this story is awesome so don’t mind the simple minded.
And I just want to say:

    Thank you for everything!

  63. There’s no need to listen to those negative comments. They’re complaining because this series is popular. Also thanks for the translations. The character development is nicely conveyed by the author.

  64. Thanks for the ch.
And oh regokai – san you cant please everyone and those negative feedback is a goodsign that your TLs attract a variety of reader so i can only advice you if you happened to stumble again upon those kinds of comments to take those with a pinch of salt theyre just probably youre typical xanxia loving fans who loves their MC bulldozing all the problems away with their OPnes, 3 thousand waifus and 1 million descendants lol XD

  65. dont listen to those troll, they are not a true fans of your translation.
i must confess i dont enjoy the last few chapters, but this chapter finally get me enjoyed it again.
we get makoto character development. finally he started to make a stand about what will he be doing in that world, not just become an OP merchant. maybe he will be the 3rd powerhouse beside hyuman and demon.
    anyway thx for the chap.

  66. Finally he puts his ass into gear. And even better, he used his brain far more then I had thought he would. Let’s praise the god’s, except the BUG ofcourse, she isn’t even a Goddess but a fart with an ego.

  67. People have different taste and it’s normal that some people don’t like something… i could quite understand them for not liking this novel but if they read to this point at least they did try to understand or give it a chance at least. Some people might say this is caracter developpement other will see it as nothing but filler and waste of time but each opinion is legit and if they don’t want to read it anymore well they can stop. The only reason i can see for their post that says they will stop to read it and point all the point they dont like in the novel might be because of anger… anger that the story ain’t what they tought?! anger for the time they’ve waste reading something they thought was going to be good?!? or maybe even anger for a story they had hope in that turn to be not to their liking? lol a seriously don’t know.
Anyway what is important is if the translator is enjoying translating/posting this story and if he likes it. If he does everything is fine for the reader! 😉 There will always be people who like it and in the same way there will be people who don’t. I’ve yet seen something that everybody agree on! 😛
Thanks for the translation! (and if i leave i’ll try to remember not to post it here^^)

  68. I don’t know why.. but i found your translation on novelupdates..
Did they rip it from here or they ask your permission?

  69. The MC discovered ‘MAD’ by using equal force as a threat even when he capable of completely destroying them. I’m still hoping he gets back at Rona somehow.

    1. MAD = Mutually Assured Destruction, meaning neither side can attack without the ensuing conflict ending in the total destruction of both groups.

      Not sure how it applies?

      1. He probably wanted to say deterrence, but didn’t know what it was. Yes, MAD does not apply in a situation where one side is overwhelmingly stronger and the other side has no serious way of fighting back.

  70. If someone wants to drop the series due to them no longer liking it, I think it’s perfectly fine. People should be allowed to voice their opinion on the series. It would be wrong to insult Reigokai or tell him to drop it, but voicing discontent with the series respectfully should be allowed.

For instance, I used to like this series a lot, but it’s been wearing my patience thin. Makoto introspects a lot, but not in a positive way that brings true character development. It almost feels like he’s become even more pessimistic recently. It’s a shame he took so many chapters just to realize that strength is another aspect of negotiations. But what’s worse is that he’s become less compassionate. The story tries to make Makoto look like a well intentioned person, but he’s let innocent people die in front of him this chapter while contemplating if he should go into action. He doesn’t even feel remorse over their deaths, simply thinking they were too weak or mentioning them in afterthought. He has the power to save these people and the lives of those in the city but hasn’t even given it a single thought. I really hope that something traumatic happens to him such as a friend dying brutally, because nothing else seems like it’ll shock him or snap him to reality to realize how cold he’s truly become about the lives of others.

    1. I have to disagree.

Makoto used to have more of the “save everyone, hero of justice” mentality in the beginning. It was precisely because of the death of a friend that he’s become colder towards hyumans.

He realized that just because they look pretty, doesn’t mean they’re good people. That’s not to say they’re automatically bad people (and truthfully, it’s not even entirely their fault. Damn Bug.) , but I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s an automatic reluctance to just step in and save people who look down on you (Because of your appearance).

While I’m not crazy about him taking several chapters to do so, Makoto took the time to run through his various options and decide how he feels about each one. In fact his initial response was the “hero of justice,” so he’s still fundamentally good. But he’s been a bit hurt by the adults so far, finding out that just because you do something good (offering high-quality medicine at low prices) doesn’t mean people will thank you or even treat you nicely.

      1. I think the point of this chapter is about Makoto shifting his goal from living in relative obscurity to living as a neutral party. It’s probably for the best, since all of the intermediate and world powers have already taken notice of him. Now he just needs to deal with the monster situation in front of the MVPs to show he’s strong enough to declare neutrality, which is what Falz/Root has been saying in private. That makes it a simple to clean up the outstanding issues.

[You say I’m working with the demons? Well, how about we talk about it at the banquet held in my honor for saving hyumanity’s leaders? Oh, you won’t be there? Don’t worry, I’ll relay your words to them personally. Which country do you think is letting the demons through, Limia or Gritonia?]

“Hi Rona, good thing you told your people to leave the festival, otherwise I’d have to suspect you for that monster outbreak. After all, I told you Academy City was my stomping grounds, and I’d hate to stomp on you. So, where’s your boss?”

Unrelated, but I’m not sure where all of the drama over “Raidou breaks” is coming from. He came to this city to learn how to become a merchant, and he just got his first lecture. Mission accomplished?

    2. actually about half of last chapter was him about to go save everyone but then realized it could screw his relations with the demon king. in the last bit of this chapter he made a decision to save some of the hyumans. also they kinda died while he wasn’t paying attention to them since he thought they’d be able to put up more of a fight and was surprised they lost so fast

    3. A few things.

First, the TRANSLATOR IS NOT THE AUTHOR.

So “voicing discontent” does exactly zero. People who dislike the series so much that they need to shout out loud before doppring it can simply LEARN JAPANESE and blast the AUTHOR.

Second, what exactly makes people think that others are interested in hearing that they are dropping the series?

For example, i want to go to the toilet now to take a crap, should i announce to the world? Because I’m the center of the universe and everyone needs to/wants to know what i’m doing next. I’m as interested in knowing X is going to drop this series as much as X is going to crap in the toilet.

Third, those that hate the series so much that they want to shout out and drop it, can simply set up a forum discussing with others who feel the same way on how much they hate the story and how fast they are going to drop it, week after week.

It doesn’t take much common sense to find that comments of “so this story is so bad. MC is so bad. Story is so slow. etc” literally has the usefulness of rubbish and no one cares.

      1. IMO reading comments that have different opinion than myself is interesting and usefull to understand how other people see things.
I do agree that some of those comment are not interesting but if people do explain why they quit i dont see why they could not tell what they think. If they don’t say what they think than obviously nobody will explain them their POV and they will never be able to see your angle.

And if you still don’t like those comments, you can just ignore them.

Oh and btw there might be someone somewhere that do want to know when you take a crap… dont act like you are the center of the universe and know what other ppl like! If you feel like you want to tell us, do it. Than we’ll decide if we want to read/answer you… or not.

      2. Ah, one of the ones who think they are the center of the universe decided to show up!

And with a bunny for a name too!

Since you like knowing when people crap, feel free to start talking about how much you love scat, watersports, snuff flims and terrorists beheading flims while you’re at it. I’m sure the whole world wants to know your “hobbies”.

I particularly like the “we” part where you subconsciously require bolstering your claim with ghostly support from unnamed people. Its just so effective in convincing people.

      3. Well, we know now who to blame if chaps go on slower than usual or stopped indefinitely. Its those human bastards who complain a lot yet still coming back to read! Prepare your weapons, slay em bastards! FOR THE HORDE!

      4. So much drama, so much hate…

i’m sorry if my nickname has offend you… i did not know that it was bad to have “Bunny” in my name when i post a comment on the interwebs.

Feel free to enlighten me zakufan. It seems like i have a lot to learn! 🙂

      5. An attention whore in addition to being a narcassist, this is hilarious!

Sorry bunny, i don’t teach hopeless cases.

      6. The irony of zakufan doing exactly the thing he was so contemptuous of… this is why people who underwent lobotomies should not be allowed near the internet.

      7. Oh look, a guy who has never commented on wordpess before decides to speak up for the “first time”!

Love it when logic has smashed into the faces of some people that they try to make it sound like their reasoning isn’t moronic. It makes it simply more hilarious!

Wait, i feel a sudden premonition that someone who has never commented on wordpress before will support my posts, maybe several!

Nah, who has time to be a moron eh? 😀

  71. Thanks for the capter! I frankly think this few chapters are a little slow, which in my case translates to, well, kinda boring, but I still think this is a great series. No way in hell I’m dropping, keep up the good work!

  72. Thanks for the chapter!

Stop reading!? No way, this was one of the best chapters in a while, Makoto has decided on a course of action that displays Kuzunoha’s might while gaining points with the nobility, I love that!

  73. To our hard working Translator

Your hard work is very much appreciated and many of us 95% of all us reader would like to say Thank you and more power to you and yeah we will supoort you on your endevours and may put a bit on paypal heheheh

but yeah as i have mentioned 95% of us love you doing your work and as they say you cannot please everyone the remainning minority are just to vocal so me as a person who love reading your translation am gonna be vocal just ignore those minorities just focus on us 95% who enjoys what you do

because pleasing those 5% will not do you good instead at worst removes the 95% who enjoys your work

i really dont know how to say it but a youtuber named Boogie who is a nice guy who got his youtube hacked but got it back said it somewhere around the same thing your going on about and how censorship ruins the game for the majority because of the minority

so jsut ignor the minority just focus on us positive majority who enjoys the translation

    1. PS

im not being a douche and racist and all that negative thing its jsut that most minrities are just ass holes right now

      1. It is unfortunate, but at least one of the reasons why minorities are “ass holes right now” is because they know if they don’t act up, they get ignored.

“The squeaky wheel gets the grease.”

There is some truth to that statement. There may not always be a problem when there is “squeaking,” but it at least lets you know you should check to make sure.

Conversely, when there is a problem, and there is no squeaking, the problem gets ignored until it becomes catastrophic. To continue using the wheel analogy, the wheel snaps off and the entire cart crashes. (If the only thing affected was the single wheel, you could make an argument for ignoring problems. But when things fail, they have a tendency to take other things down with them.)

      2. yeah but still that analogy only works if it was constructive critisising or the problem would actually be an actual problem that can be solve that can help make it better

all i see right now is

Whinning douches who whines whines whines and whines some more and wanting this and that and this to be fixed to their on self satisfaction

it be #shimometa universe it it where to happen all over around us where everythingis cpolitically correct

actually this chapter really reflects the current trend thats happenning to our world right now but hey im just saying my mind and wanting to voice out my support to reigoo-sama for the had work so ending my argument here becuase i got other novels to read also

      3. If you think “this story is boring, Imma stop reading it” is the same as “I lost my job due to cheap labor” or “certain groups of people are being killed disproportionately higher,” there’s a much different problem to worry about.

  74. thanks for all the chapters, irecently was robbed of completed pokemon alpha sapphire with over 200 fully iv ev trained pokemon. All the megas included. This series has been a great stress reliever. So once again thanks and keep it up.

  75. I don’t understand who want to drop this, but at least for me, this series is number 2 in mylist after DXD. I like the leisure and slow but many MC’s insight, that is why I really like this series, the man chosen by god and master of monsters a lot because of the MC weakness and how will they face their problems. So keep on working on this series, it is my top now (second though)

  76. Thanks for the chapter.

I had no idea people were threatening to drop the series. o.o
Well people can do as they wish. I will continue to read this series unless it turns into a complete flop. I have read flops that have made a major come back. Anyways this is one of the few series I really look forward to. ^^

    Cheers~

    1. You must be new here, people are always threatening to drop the novel. Only around 5% blame it on my spoilers, which I cooled down on. Still, it’s not Reigo-senpai’s fault. It’s the author who wrote this novel’s fault, Reigo-senpai only translates it. It’s like shooting the messenger in my opinion.

  77. (This is how it plays out in my head) I can’t wait for Makoto to be like. “Most of you are scum and treated me as much.” “I have been neutral for a while yet many have tried to take advantage of me, my company and companions.””I tried to be kind and help people.” “I could save your skins but most of you aren’t worth it.” “I only help those who have been kind to me.”Even the goddess treats me like dirt and cursed me because I don’t fit her tastes. She even made it so I can’t talk common language” “So what would you like me to do?” “You choice is to stop believing in the goddess and that she will save and help you or join my cause?” “Your choice. later~” Nobles and merchants grumble~ Some beg. Not worth it. Some curse him. Not worth it. Some compromise and probably are worth it.
    >:D How BA would that be. Then again this is Makoto going to the dark side haha. xD

  78. I don’t write comment usually but today I will.
This novel one of my favorite. I am reading for long time. I love mc and story. Peoples have different tastes. So I don’t care what they think for this novel.
I am thankful to you reigo-san. Don’t care what they say. Thanks for your hard work and chapter.

  79. I really love just how good you’ve gotten with the translation. The story is also getting better and better. Thank you for your hard work!

  80. “don’t go around saying it as if it’s a threat or something”

But how else will we know what happened to them?

They’re pillars of the community. Important people.

If they suddenly disappear without a word, it will make us anxious. Unable to sleep at night even.

So, being the nice people that they are, they’re letting us down in the nicest way possible, so that we’ll at least be able to move on.

Seriously though, this made me think of a quote by Oscar Wilde:

“Some people bring happiness when they arrive; others, when they leave.”

      1. Try asking random people on the street if they’ll sell theirs? In my experience, many people never even used the one they started out with. 🙂

  81. So in the end Makoto matures a bit without throwing a tantrum like an edgy kid? 10/10 really great.
Haters will be haters so ignore them and thanks for your hard work!

  82. will he raise the princess flag lol. but I guess the guest are gonna shit their pants when they see the lvl 1000 at work

  83. i for one am really appreciating this story’s pacing. it’s not very often you see a main character with as much thoughtfulness and humility as this, and the slow pacing of the story really just helps to bring that out

    1. Personally, I really dislike that “humility”. Thoughtfulness is nice in main characters, like Meng Hao from ISSTH for example, but in Makoto’s case, he’s continually allowed himself to be disadvantaged in almost every deal he’s made himself. I like this new train of thought of using intimidation that he’s taking up.

      1. I mostly meant his willingness to swallow his pride and learn from those mistakes. Thoughtfulness is more so the kind of concern for other characters than the aptitude for manipulating them or the resourcefulness which I think you are alluding to. I think it’s great that his idealism is evolving from the impractical kind that constantly disadvantages him into the more practical kind that focuses on protecting his followers and only reciprocating generosity when shown it first.

  84. What’s this? Something happened in the plot that I don’t agree with? This cannot be! In order to demonstrate my outrage in a contructive fashion, I’m going to arbitrarily declare that I’m not going to read this anymore since I know that I am almost certainly the centre of the universe and that every other reader lives and dies by my every word and should declare it dropped, everyone will stop reading and it will cease to be! Behold my power! Dropped! Let the world tremble in my absence!
*lightning and thunder fill the background*

If you’re too mentally challenged to see the sarcasm between the lines there, I worry about your future.
Seriously though Reigokai, I can’t understand how you can have hundreds of comments complementing your work and productivity in translating and showing obvious enjoyment in the ongoing plot (even if we have gone more than two or three chapters without anyone getting their ass kicked), yet one or two childish bitches rage quit over the fact that Makoto isn’t acting like an OP xianxia protagonist and you’re letting it get to you?
I guess the negative opinions always seem to affect people more than the positive ones.
Seriously, don’t pay them any mind. The haters are a handful of voices out of thousands of happy readers here. I even donated some money to cheer you up just a minute ago. That’s how much I like what you’re doing. What else do I have to do to convince you?

  85. Its odd how narrow minded people are and how much they love to flaunt those narrow minded ideas. (This is relation to the comments in previous chapters) The more one tried to follow a differnt approach to something, the more it is ridiculed.
Any normal person is bound to stop and consider one’s options before diving into something that can have significant ramifications on their future. That’s why I can respect the author for portraying the scenes as has been done.
Keep up the good work translator. Your work is the reason I am commenting in a site for the first time.
