Chapter 199: The Sea and Makoto are doing well

Sponsored Chapter

Surprise! It was about time to unveil the mystery patch.
Sponsored chapters are not going to be set to only on Sundays, but will be free. Of course, there will be a obligatory sponsored ones at Sundays, but if we were to continue at this pace in sponsored, I will never be able to finish them.

And dayum guys, the 600+ comments in 2 days really shocked me!

Thanks a lot for the continued support!

“I have been nailed down…”

The contact of Limia was as expected.

They unreservedly called me regarding the schedule.

Come as fast as possible(in the time that Senpai is at Lorel), and my thoughts were splendidly shot down.

They probably have a lot of things to prepare, so the date and times that were proposed were all reasonable.

The fastest one will probably have Senpai in Limia already.

In that case, I feel like I will have Mio stay.

Luckily, we have the sea, so she probably won’t get bored. That part is a saving.

“Well, it is good that a day has been decided. It will clear one pain after all.” (Makoto)

Deliberately voicing it out, I make myself think that something good has happened.

With this, the troublesome country visits will be over.

It seems like Rembrandt-san is doing his moves, so the Aion Kingdom isn’t calling me.

I have interest in Lorel Union, so I actually want to visit it once.

Maybe because the Goddess is being docile, the Church seems to be docile as well.

I just have to endure a bit more.

Even so, the talk finished faster than anticipated.

The reason was because I compromised fast though.

I am slightly interested in the details of the growth of Jin’s group, but returning to the Academy is just…

Yeah, let’s confirm the work in Asora.

I take out the documents I wanted from the desk.

Shiki puts together the documents that I should be seeing, so it is a great help.

“For now, it seems like the races that will be going to the sea have been decided.” (Makoto)

I turn over the documents.

This time, before having an interview with me, I had Tomoe and the others do a trial and have them do a survival for a set period of time.

It may sound excessive when calling it survival, but the point is, it is just to try living there.

Even if I say sea, the environment is varied, and we will test if the various races are actually able to live in the sea of Asora.

Tomoe is the one in charge of this trial and she is also the advisor.

So long as there’s no excessive actions in the period of time she is in charge, she doesn’t need to show herself.

“It would be ideal if there are races that can accommodate in land as well though.” (Makoto)

As expected, things won’t go so smoothly.

The large sized aquatic demonic beasts are far from being able to relate to land.

And the mermaids are fish at their lower half.

Even if they are hyuman-like, it is obvious at a glance that even trying to walk would be a difficulty.

In terms of race, the Lorelei that seem to be a variety of demons have hyuman shaped bodies, so instead of in the sea, they live close to the sea, which makes them able to adapt easily to land.

The reversed race that has hyuman limbs and fish body are able to run in land as well.

Because of that, the name of the race is Neptune Sea Lord. I feel like their very existence is a joke already.

There’s also a race called Sahuagin that is half hyuman-like, and even when it is not their specialty, they are able to move in land.

About them, what left the most impression was actually the plate that was shining at their head.

I thought they were kappa. Sea kappas.

And so, While having the races that can go in both land and water at the port, it would be ideal if they were to interact with the other races that are only able to live in the sea.

I thought that it would be nice if that port and my house were to interact with a certain town.

And so, I left the detailed parts to Tomoe and the others.

“Mermaids, Lorelei, Sahuagin, and Neptunes. Sea horses, Kelpie, Sea Serpents, Blue Moons…” (Makoto)

When I confirm them in order, I could tell that there were quite a lot.

There are more than 10 races.

It is not like they are competing for a spot in the migration, so as long as they are able to adapt to the sea of Asora, I don’t mind having them all migrate.

And as long as there’s no clear hostility between the races.

The sea is vast, so they are able to find a place to live anywhere.

If they are preyed upon, or are about to become prey by the living beings that were originally in that sea, I can just have them retire.

Will I have to do an interview with all the races, or are all the races going to retire?

…No, the latter would be problematic, so I want them to do their best.

◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆

A pleasant report came in.

Almost all the races that are trying to live in the sea are able to adapt to the lifestyle of Asora.

There were about two races that retired because they felt danger towards the sharks and giant octopuses that were originally there, but it seems like most of the races are able to safely live.

At this rate, we will be able to obtain residents for both the cold sea and the warm sea.

Asora has a lot of land compared to the population.

This also applies to the sea, so if they live in a lot of places and gather information, there’s nothing I would be more grateful for.

It would be incredibly troublesome if we were to investigate every nook and cranny by ourselves after all.

“And well, it seems like all in all, there’s no problem. There’s also people that are beginning to communicate with the pre-existing living beings there. The fear we had about quarrels between races has not occurred.”

With no real problem, Tomoe finishes her report.

“That’s great. It is regrettable for the races that retired, but tell them that if there’s a time when they need the Kuzunoha Company, we will cooperate.” (Makoto)

“I have already told them. If a problem were to occur at hyuman territory, we will hear them out.” (Tomoe)

“As expected. Is Sari doing well?” (Makoto)

“Because it is her first job, she is full of vigor. There’s no strange movements.” (Tomoe)

“I see.” (Makoto)

A few days have passed since my lecture at the Academy.

The migration test in Asora has been progressing smoothly.

It is peaceful like the calm of the sea.

“By the way Waka, I heard from Shiki that the students of Rotsgard have grown quite a lot.” (Tomoe)

“Hm, ah yeah. It is impressive. Every single one of them have become great. It feels like it would be overdoing it if we were to train them as we first planned, so…I think that it would be okay to let them be on the teaching side.” (Makoto)

“The teaching side, is it? They will probably come pestering that they want to become even stronger though.” (Tomoe)

“There’s growth in teaching as well. Also, even if they want to become stronger, they are already the strongest in the Academy, you know? If we are talking about the same year, they are easily the strongest. There’s no need to train them more than this and increase the difference, right? I think that they will be able to contribute plenty enough in a war between hyumans, or against most of any fight against other races.” (Makoto

“…I see. I am slightly interested, so do you mind if I have Shiki show me the information later?” (Tomoe)

“Of course it is fine. Just don’t go doing any weird interference with the students, okay? Because you trained Misura, he has learned some weird power after all.” (Makoto)

“I will be careful.” (Tomoe)

Seriously.

Tomoe training Misura became the trigger, and Jin and the others have grown an incredible lot.

Every one of them learned a special ability fit for them, and made their own trait more prominent, and the result was that they have gotten stronger.

When they were in Rotsgard Academy, they were originally kids with talent.

When someone aims high, in a sense, it is normal for them to grow.

When thinking that way, Shiki and I only helped out in it.

I will only have the new students increase their levels to where Jin’s group is, and after, I will just let them grow up on their own and they will most likely become plenty strong.

As a teacher, I have found a standard of how strong I will train my students and am doing well.

Truly good.

“Then Tomoe, do you have time now?” (Makoto)

“Again? I have to look after the races that want to migrate, so I think that it would be hard to accompany you today.” (Tomoe)

“…I see.” (Makoto)

Too bad.

“Reproducing the environment of Waka’s world tired me a lot after all. The next time I am available would be the day before Waka leaves for Limia. Sorry.” (Tomoe)

“Understood. I know that I am asking for too much when you are busy after all. It is fine.” (Makoto)

“…Ah, Waka, do you have time?” (Tomoe)

Tomoe?

Tomoe suddenly makes a bitter face as she asks me.

Ah, thought transmission huh.

I want to learn how to skillfully utilize thought transmission while speaking as well.

It is hard to concentrate in both of them.

If I am able to do something about it by practicing, I should try.

“What? Is it thought transmission?” (Makoto)

“Yes, it was from Lime.” (Tomoe)

“Heh~, he was together with Senpai and her group, right? What did he say?” (Makoto)

“…Yeah, it wasn’t anything big. It seems like that purple cloud didn’t disappear completely with what we did the other day.” (Tomoe)

“…As I thought. I felt like the resistance was way too thin. It hasn’t been that long since then. Is it already doing evil?” (Makoto)

“Yes. And it seems that Lime and Hibiki are currently dealing with it, but it seems like it is not going well.” (Tomoe)

“Even Hibiki-senpai?” (Makoto)

“Seems so.” (Tomoe)

I can’t believe it.

Even though it is Hibiki-senpai.

Even though she should be able to do something about an opponent of that level.

Is it because her methods of long ranged attacks are low?

She does use a sword after all.

“I said that I would be helping Lorel, and yet, it was so half-baked. That’s not cool. Troubling Senpai would be bad, so I will do something about it.” (Makoto)

“…Can I leave it to you?” (Tomoe)

“Yeah. Just that, I think it will be useless to deal with that group with the previous method. The response was thin after all. I do have something in mind, but I have to get relatively close or I feel like it won’t work.” (Makoto)

I would like to at least get an approximate location of it.

“Then how about using the strategy that the winged-kin utilized in last time’s mock battle with Waka? The one about sharing information with a third party from a faraway location.” (Tomoe)

“Ah, I see. It will definitely be useful. Let’s go with that. Then I will have to move to a location where I can aim.” (Makoto)

“There’s a mountain with good view. It has a bit of distance from the location, but if it’s Waka, there shouldn’t be any problems, right?” (Tomoe)

“I do have Azusa and magic after all. I actually don’t have to worry about range.” (Makoto)

“Well then, go ahead. I will send the winged-kin there, so while confirming with the information share, try to tackle it.” (Tomoe)

“Understood.” (Makoto)

“Waka.” (Tomoe)

“What?” (Makoto)

“Lime and the hero are floating close to that area, so I don’t mind if you gift them a few shots, you know? Especially to Lime.” (Tomoe)

“Why do I have to do something like that to Lime?” (Makoto)

Calling me to a stop when I was about to enter the created gate with Azusa in one hand, she said something strange.

“…That’s because he has slacking slightly you see, so I thought that it would help for discipline.” (Tomoe)

“You say some scary things.” (Makoto)

“It could serve as good motivation to Hibiki, you know?” (Tomoe)

“I don’t want to. If it gets discovered later, just how do you think we would be able to apologize? Seriously.” (Makoto)

“…Have a safe trip.” (Tomoe)

“Yeah, I will return soon.” (Makoto)

The other side of the gate was as stated, the summit of a mountain.

Truly a panorama of 360° degrees.

What a superb view.

And in the faraway sky, there’s one clearly visible thing.

I could tell that that purple stain was the problematic cloud.

“It has become quite big. It is not as big as before though.” (Makoto)

I prepare my bow.

I set an arrow.

The target cloud is quite a distance away, but maybe because I am using magic simultaneously since coming to this world, I don’t feel like I will miss.

I have stopped worrying about whether it will reach or not.

If I can see it, I can hit it.

I am beginning to naturally think in this way.

Just that, in the case of that cloud, it is a united form of many individuals, so I feel like I can’t consider it as just a single enemy.

It is something that I felt after reflecting on last time though.

“Now then, the link with the winged-kin…” (Makoto)

While I wait for the arrival of the winged-kin, I could tell that they appeared at a place a bit further away from the purple cloud.

Two huh.

A thought transmission soon came from them, and asked for confirmation if it’s okay to send information.

Of course, I said okay.

After finishing a short thought transmission and waiting for a bit, a strange scenery as if looking at the purple cloud from a closer place appeared in my mind.

What was in my eyes was the cloud far in the distance, and the gap between distances made me feel slightly nauseated.

It was as if looking at it from afar, and at the same time, looking at it from a monitor.

But if I get used to it, it might be convenient.

Thanks to it, I was able to clearly tell where Hibiki-senpai, her comrade magician, and Lime were floating.

‘I will give you the coordinates’, is the follow-up report that came from the winged-kin.

The scenery of where the cloud and Senpai’s group were, was shown to me like a grid, and several numbers appeared.

Hmph~.

So this is how the winged-kin exchange information with each other and getting their aim huh.

It is certainly easy to understand.

It is not that necessary for me who snipes by relying on my senses, but I think that it is an advantage to erase the measurement errors in the attack.

I give my thanks to the winged-kin and tell them to be in standby.

“I will pierce that purple cloud in my sight. At that scenery that’s in my mind, I only pierce the cloud.” (Makoto)

It was a mysterious feeling.

It was the same sensation as aiming straight.

But at the same time, it was as if I was placing my aim at the scenery in the monitor.

In my time at Japan, this would be an incredible stunt, and yet, I was able to lock the target.

No, not yet.

It is no good to just avoid Senpai’s group.

And it is also no good to just pierce through the part that seems to be the cloud’s core.

Concentrating in each live that comprises the cloud, I target everything of it, all the links.

Not shooting vaguely.

And for that sake…

“…”

While maintaining my concentrated state, I lower the arrow I set up.

This time, I won’t use this one.

What I need right now is not an arrow, but a catalyst for my spell.

To pierce through several targets at once, I need both archery and magic.

From the variety of arrows that I had the Eldwas make, I choose an arrow that has the most ability to inject magic power in, and once again, I set it up.

An amber colored arrow.

“Avoiding Senpai’s group, I will pierce the core, and kill all the clouds in a chain.” (Makoto)

The cloud that appears in my mind is being filled with countless numbers of aims.

I can do it.

I silently release my arrow.

For a while, the arrow continued on as a normal arrow, but the amber arrow soon broke, and in exchange, it turned into a big mass of light that could take up the whole field of vision, and flew towards the purple cloud.

And then, after a while, the mass of light bursts.

Okay, I did it!

Avoiding Senpai’s group, it pierces through the core of the cloud, and at the same time, it pierced through the scattered portions that I placed my aim on. I could tell that it was effective.

I have killed it.

Different from last time, this time I actually felt it.

“Fuh~, I have defeated it.” (Makoto)

It seems like the winged-kin have witnessed it as well.

They face this way and are flying here.

Even though one is carrying the other, they are incredibly fast.

Thanks to their help, my possibilities with the arrow increased more.

I am happy.

I felt like I once again confirmed that the bow is something irreplaceable for me.

        1. ….Follow-up question. What do human parts taste like? Does sauce help?

I always assumed that human meat doesn’t taste good because we’re a social species and it would be a biological design to discourage cannibalism.

          1. Oh, okay. In that case, I don’t have any problems with eating the human-like limbs, so long as they’re cut properly.

….But who would eat those cute fish people?! That’d be horrible! D:

      1. Btw, I think it wasn’t translated as ‘Neptune Sea Road’ BUT ‘Sea Lord’ since the kanji 海王 means Sea King, The rubi kana シーロード Sea Lord. The jokes is that kind of spesies called as the “king” 王. The same kind of jokes when you a “joke-looking people” became a king or country leader (no offense here,).

        1. Ooooooh. That makes more sense. Ironic naming. Gotcha.

In which case, I kinda want to see them have abilities that reflect their names. Ability to command sea creatures perhaps. Or absurd strength to the tune of a certain other story’s Sea King. Hell, something funny but equally scary like incredible speed and strong fangs, making them scary land hunters as well.

  1. OH GOD NEW CHAPTER! Surprised me again.

I never even get to the point of wishing for a new chapter anymore due to Reigokai speed and comments keeping the most recent chapter alive.

Alright folks, if this is an eventful one, let’s see if we can hit 600 comments in 24 hours! XD

  2. Thanks for the chapter, it does feel nice to see the situation from Makoto’s perspective, the last chapter, despite the budding shipping, left a bad aftertaste in my mouth for some reason. Though, to be honest, much of it deals with Hibiki herself.. Is that bad?

    1. You’re good. I’d say a solid 80-90% of the readers felt unhappy with Hibiki last chapter and were happy to see the ship sink.

I actually wouldn’t have minded it, but I can totally understand why people would.

        1. Aw man! Did you have to bring that up! Now I’m going to be crying! I demand you go to Mount Doom’s chief masseuse and torturer, the D’Orc, Ufthak Skinpeeler for punishment!

    1. Makoto’s a nice boss like that. The assistant managers are the ones you want to beware of.

Honestly, I think it was a nice scene last chapter. Lime’s in half-despair when he sees the fire incoming, thinking his boss is going to execute him for disloyalty(which he can’t even deny). He closes his eyes and is ready to accept his fate. But then, Makoto instead vaporizes the problem without touching him. It feels like a major kindness from him when it’s just that Makoto, firstly, doesn’t know and secondly, wouldn’t care.

  3. Haha! Naive little Makoto, acting as if his busy days will end once he visits all the countries. We all know better.

So it’s migration time, huh? I don’t sea (:D) why being able to walk on land is a big bonus. Can’t you just make it possible for them to swim through the air somehow, Makoto? We all know you can do it. Don’t you dare say something defeatist like “That’s impossible”!

Neptune Sea Road? Am I missing the joke? Someone help. Also, what are Blue Moons supposed to be?

    1. I think he was looking for the most adaptable ones, if they can live on land as well, they don’t have to worry about the dangers of the sea as much. It probably also helps the relations between the sea residents and the land ones from Ema’s group.

    2. i was thinking, does the species can only survive in salt-water ? if not why not try for the weaker species to live in river/lake (if there’s none of lake , let just ask makoto to make another one in asora 😀 )

    3. He could just have the Eldwas make something like a wheelchair, or even a floating one (powered by Makoto’s rings, so enough energy for several centuries between recharges?), then the Merfolk and other species that can breathe air, but can’t move on land easily, wouldn’t have that problem anymore.

Or perhaps it’s about time Asora developed a magic item that allows the wearer to assume one of several pre-programmed forms. That would solve a lot of their problems. Including making it easier for the non-hyuman inhabitants of Asora to move about hyuman territory.

      1. I’m thinking simpler than that. How about a tool that makes all the air in the area possible to swim through as if it were water?

Sakai could probably do it if Makoto applied it that way, but I’m sure an eldwarf could make a machine that did that. Sure, it might have an unrealistic mana cost, but somehow I don’t think that will be a problem.

    4. I was kinda hoping the author would do the pov of the migrating races like last time. I really wanted to see the reaction of each races towards Makoto.

      1. They haven’t met him yet. Right now, it’s just preliminary interviews and investigations. He’ll meet with them for the final interviews. He’s a king (possibly a currently ascending god) after all.

      1. like using Iron Curtain in C&C : Red Alert to the enemy for the luls just when you already sending the nuke to their base when the unit that got hit with the Iron Curtain buff is there :v

      2. The broken ability of being able to use nukes, if nukes could dodge allies and avoid friendly fire. Also, no environmental poisoning. And high rapid fire capability. And extreme ease of mobility in both transportation and positioning.

So basically nothing at all like a nuke besides initial explosive damage.

      3. Yeah i really loved playing C & C : Red alert using Iron Curtain much worse is that i used cheat code in a campaign where the whole army is trying to destroy my single flame tower and keeps on buffing its invul and burn them all! Hahahha!!! or a single Mammoth tank with a forever invul buff lolz
        XD

      4. There is also that “Nuke Caravan” that i like to gather all enemies onto that single car then give them a boom in their own base LOLx XD

  4. WHAT’S UP, B*TCHES!? Spoiler-san is back, and he’s glad to be back. Spoiler-san still can’t believe his vessel lied to him, saying that he’s still sick. Anywho, thank you Reigo-senpai for the chapter.

Spoiler-san missed out on giving some spoilers, so here’s something. A certain secret that has been long hidden will be revealed thanks to Chiya’s new power when Makoto get’s to Limia. Now, Spoiler-san must leave before Truck-kun arrives, Adios!

      1. I think truck sama is accumulating hit points into energy, then use his special move called “Free Hug”, which leaves a mark on someone :))

    1. I somehow wants to curse Lime for not reporting that incoming problem for several days until forgotten, on that skill that he discovered

        1. I had heard that what she sees is quite traumatic. Guess that’s what happens when you glimpse a god’s soul, even if he’s only just begun his ascension.

          1. Exactly! That’s what I called it when I did those things to those rats! Hm? What did I do to them? Trust me, the less you know, the better. By the way, if anyone sees something like, say, juggernaut rodents that can run through concrete walls without slowing down, I had nothing to do with them. And you should probably contact me, as well.

          2. Of course! Of course!

After all, you’d want to know to be careful if something like that happened to be around.

I’d ask you to avoid bothering any bulletproof silverback gorillas you might find and to notify me, but there’s no reliable way to tell they’re bulletproof without bothering them anyway.

    2. i have the feeling that Tomoe will openly mind read in front of Chiya for if Chiya will be spilling the other party’s secrets then Tomoe or Makoto can send that right back at them.

      1. don’t forget kiddos even tho Komoe-chan is cute as hell she is the Kuzunoha Company’s demotic drill sergeant ware the meare sound of her name will make warrior’s whom can walk in a hell known as war as if it was a mere park tremble in fear.
…..in short she kawaii but is also scary at times.

    1. Thank you Reigokai.
I don’t know what to expect from you anymore… you blew my expectations long ago. And now, this surprise chapter. Thanks again and have a great Friday!

*also, please ignore my link in post above. Please, ignore it. My shameful mistake.*

      1. headpat are very super special reward that only awarded to special one that have gaze through the abyss, walk the burning hell, survive the cold tundra, and thrown into the void or in this novel, its Makoto privilage

  5. Senpai this, senpai that, don’t disrespect great senpai, how would we apologize to senpai? How amazing of senpai to be born 1 year earlier (great achievement) and be good at standardized high school tests (outrageously difficult). senpai senpai senpai senpai senpai senpai

    1. You know what? F*ck senpai! Reliable, experienced(by just a few years). Big deal!

The inexperienced, klutzy kohai that you need to look out for is where it’s at.

      1. tsk, to me its not social hierarchy anymore… if Makoto’s respecting that hierarchy culture then he must work hard to act like he’s the one on the top now that he’s a freakin’ leader of a sub-world (but I guess he’s the figurehead type, I guess), and doesn’t feel troubled by the fact that people respects him because of the power he possess and he wonders why people are wary of him he’s not only screwing common sense with his OPness, he’s also screwing common sense that being on top equals a little bit of haughtiness … well at the same time, he’s written to be that very humble-naive-dorkish character… I can’t really hate him, annoyed but not hate…

      2. Strong yes, but I believe that Japanese contemporary literature is overemphasizing social hierarchy quite a lot. I can’t speak for High School settings, but lived in Tokyo for a year and attended university there. Sure, people use the word senpai, but it absolutely does not carry the same respect, almost religious reverence, that Makoto has for this girl (whom he didn’t even know in person at school). Being a senpai at university basically means shit if you compare it to this

  6. Ohhh, so it needed two shots.

I thought Tomo was manipulating things behind the scenes when Makoto tried to snipe it the first time. Things have taken a far less mysterious turn.

  7. I feel like things havent changed at all actually its faster than 3 days to update well this is sponsored but still dont tire yourself out.

    Anyways thanks for the chapter

    1. Stop that. That’s cheating. Don’t count. +9 to the goal to make up for it.

I can hardly criticize when it comes to multiple comments, but it should all individually be a meaningful addition to discussion for it to count, I think.

    2. Yeah man. Stop that before I roll ever you.
Just reply to other’s comments and it will reach 600+ in no time.
      Trust me.

      1. *’Roll over’. Not roll ever.

        *darn typo*
        *hands off steering*
        *accidentally hit the Heroes*

        Oh no….
        Well. Good riddance.

        1. Aint split directed by m.night?
          Is it worth the watch?
(I’ve read that m.night films got worse/boring after the films that madd him famous)

  8. I’m surprised. So many of the newcomers were able to survive despite dealing with Asoran-class Sharks and Giant Octopus. Are they all just that tough? Or perhaps the creatures are weaker than initially thought or few in number(probably due to hunting by Mio)? Ah. Or maybe they’re just Aquamaning it up and befriending the native life. Either way, good job.

Next up..Go Tomoe go! I’m so glad to see her taking interest in the students once again(I was kinda worried she’d be indifferent). It seems Misura learned that abnormal technique that let him resist Agarest’s charge thanks to her. Forget what Makoto says, do that! Cultivate them up to become true monsters, all equipped with [Common Sense Break]!

I’d say Makoto’s plan for them is good except for cutting down the training on the sempai group. It’s like he personally picked them, so I really want to see how far they can go. Putting a standard(limit) on the second tier students though, is probably a good call. Wouldn’t want to accidentally create a strong hyuman that decides to abuse their power, after all.

So I’m not the only one that was surprised when Makoto wanted Tomoe to “accompany him in that tiring activity” right? I had to reread it to get an idea of what he meant. And on that topic, I didn’t expect Makoto to get homesick to the point of taking advantage of Tomoe’s power to go back. I’m not sure how to feel about that.

      1. I’m down with that. A team of elites that make up the next generation of legendary figures acting as agents to one super organization? That’d be awesome.

You know, it’s a good thing that Tomoe and Mio are both effectively immortal. Because even if Makoto decides to live out a normal mortal lifespan, Kuzunoha won’t fall to the corruption that comes with the power it wields.

      2. Still with the Asorazord project?
I can imagine bgm playing the song by Shiraishi Minoru,
        “Change! Shikaida…..!’

      3. Is Tomoe still “immortal”? Don’t superior dragons still age? Isn’t that why they give birth to themselves? If the information provided in Makoto’s demonlord route stand true for this world, ( i may be wrong) but didn’t Tomoe give up the ability to reincarnate when she made the pact with Makoto? So is this life her last?

        1. No, she died permanently because the goddess herself killed her and Mio. She can still reincarnate, I think. Otherwise, Root or Grount would’ve mentioned it.

        2. As I understand, what dream Tomoe was referring to was that she was prepared to die beyond her ability to reincarnate when she chose to follow as abnormally powerful as he was.

All superior dragons age, but can reincarnate into eggs when they die unless something special happens like Sophia “eating” them or Bug erasing them completely. Root…is a special exception, though I don’t remember the details.

    1. Going by Makoto’s wording, I think his decision is for them as students. It probably wouldn’t apply if they became employees of Kuzunoha, or at least the limit might be higher then.

Becoming inhabitants of Asora, and therefore followers of Makoto, would likely mean he would be willing to train them without any upper limit .Though at some point their growth is bound to slow down significantly anyway.

        1. Relatively speaking, aren’t they already? Age-wise they’re probably ahead of any other Hyuman.

Even Sofia only got as strong as she did at her age because she had dragon blood in her (she dropped off the grid after she started stealing power from dragons, so we don’t know how highly she would have ranked after that).

Speaking of, I wonder how high the students would rank now as adventurers.

        2. Hey, if they reach the upper limits of humanity, they just have to evolve into creatures above that. It’s not impossible in this world and there are probably ways available to Kuzunoha.

…..oh man. OH MAN! How cool would it be if Shiki actually had a hand in creating the very “Graunts” he’d been searching for all this time?

    2. I’d completely forgot to comment on it, but is the aquatic life truly count as asoran? The sea was a gift from bro-god and Susanoo ( also Athena…i think), so are the aquatic life a part of that and not of Asora native wildlife?

  9. Ooh I thought that was the moment of the first purple cloud visit.
Well, this chapter explain why there is no winged kin in the 1st purple cloud visit.

  10. Aha~ We get to see Makoto’s side of the scene now. So it’s confirmed now that those were two separate-though connected-incidents. Glad we cleared that up.

Gee, after seeing her in the last chapter and having all that discussion, Makoto’s “I’m surprised she can’t handle it” is pretty amusing. He genuinely thinks it’s no big deal(“it’s not as big as before”) and on her level and I can’t tell whether to attribute that more to his opinion of her or his stupid understanding of normal power.

And of course, the thought that went through Makoto’s mind as Lime reaffirms his loyalty and Hibiki realizes that fact with despair is….
    “Okay, I did it!”

The Winged-kin’s abilities seriously do synergize very well with Makoto’s abilities, don’t they? Especially now that he’s evolved to the level of “If I can see it, I can hit it”, even when targeting small vapor-like organisms.

  11. Its like one of those soldier that have a guiding device for the launched missile that the winged kin have but Makoto is much worse! When the feedbacks come to Makoto its more like satellite that have a multiple lock-on guiding system. Even though he launched a one nuke, its like the missile has more mini missiles inside lol

    1. Even though its a good chap. I think it wouldnt go over 600 comments. For the main reason is because of the ship that sailed for a little bit, but it has nasty taste that made me vomit and its a good thing it sunk quickly.

About the neptune things, i thought they would be called “man-fish” or “walking fish”.

Tomoe rejected Makoto’s invitation? a superior dragon to be get tired when you read that she didnt seem to be doing that many. Did a “tsun” just flew out of nowhere or something?

      1. well makoto materia prima almost like iron man suit, it just need to be upgraded to be able to fire magic arrow etc (since its already have ROCKETO PUNCH for the 1st weapon)

  12. I’m starting to question how I should think of Hibiki. Should I believe she won’t become an enemy or is she only trying to use Makoto? I think she also has a charisma power right? Then is that what made Lime want to join her? (I don’t like having an MC get ntr’d when he is so OP)

Reigo-sama has levelled up his speed again!
    (200/500 comments is the aim!?)

    Thnx for the chappy~ Nanodesu~

      1. ….Revelation! Then we need to grind xp for Reigo-sama! Get your computer’s, cellphones, tablets, iPads and all other gadgets! Make a million accounts and comment! Get Reigo-sama to the limit!

      2. That’s it! Ahahaha so we are stacking the creeps (comments) so that reigokai sama will just level up quickly (update frequently)!!

    1. I freaking love the chapter where Makoto-kami beat the hell out of Trashmoki and the chapter before this, and now I also freaking love this chapter.

Everytime Makoto-kami does something OP as hell, I keep remembering how this novel that I found after Tate no Yuusha, made me addicted to reading novels, especially transported, reincarnated or summoned to another world novels XD

      1. Just in case you don’t know but to look for more “good” novels go to novelupdates most if not all novels have updates there. Also glad to see another person liking tate to yuusha thought the parts near the end are somewhat iffy to me(almost all of them got revived and had a good life which contradicts the mood set earlier in the story)

        1. Suddenly becoming gods was quite a surprise for me there XD like I don’t remember there being a foreshadowing a possibility but yeah plot armor (more like plot shield XD)

    2. i hope it does not happen where makoto being use..
espcially when it comes to hibiki,
i have a bad feeling about her.

        1. Come now, that’s being a bit dramatic, isn’t it? Makoto would feel bad, and definitely betrayed.

But it’s not like he’d destroy the world. Given his track record, he wouldn’t even destroy a country. A large city, possibly, if there’s a reason to. But things won’t reach the point of destroying countries until someone picks a fight and actually hurts some Asorans.

          1. Well I was joking when I said that, and what I really thing that he would do would be shutting himself in Asora for some time and then go out wary of Hibiki and maybe lose some trust in others except for his family in that world, Kuzunoha

        2. I wish he’d be like that the moment his expectations of his annoying sempai gets shattered..
Naofumi all over again (but this time mc op at the start) xD

        1. True we have Tomoe on high alert and his trusted shiki that may even possibly choose which fate/destination makoto’s life will go through.. (as shiki is the one who makoto is very dependent of.. Like suggestions, etc.. You get it too right??)

    3. i do think that once she learned Makoto’s real power, she will try to use him and lure his strong fellas to work for her. then, fight him as he could be a threat for the Bug.

frankly speaking. i dont like her. Trashmoki is wayyy better than her to deal with. our innocent MC would be confuse in the latter with her than the obvious trashmoki.

and Thank you so much for the suprised chapter Reigo san! as well as the sponsors!
      <3

      1. Trashmoki is the “do what I want and get what I want” type while Hibiki is the “that person seems useful… Let’s become friends” type…Or at least that’s how I see them. I actually thought Hibiki would understand and become Makoto’s ally, but nooooo

      2. They can’t leave the op mc-chan alone because they don’t know how op he is. To most hyuman factions he most likely looks like a goose that’s sitting on top of golden eggs. They don’t realize that that goose is the devil in disguise.

        1. I mean, Makoto is so silly he might as well actually be a goose in this analogy.

Just…a goose with the ability to phase through walls, spit acid, and adamantine feathers is all…

    4. Yes, Hibiki has a divine boost to her natural charisma, this has likely effected how royalty and nobles and Lime see her. This is almost guaranteed to be the reason why she was able to recruit adventurers who value their own lives first and foremost to fight in the war and consequently die when Io and the demon army invaded the kimgdom. Tomoki has charm, which makes women mindles puppets.

Hibiki has chosen her side in previous chapters. she understands that almost everything that has happened is the racist hyuman’s fault, but believes this racist society is for the best. She sides with the goddess and hyumans. She knows peace is impossible between hyumans and other races due to long history of hatred. She has also mentally declared Kuzonoha as enemies due to their favortism towards non hyumans, specifically their neutrality, and their overwhelming power, and resources. She has had thoughts of destroying them and crushing Makoto, her kouhai due to their unpredictability and potential danger to the hyuman side if they ever stand in her way. She has thoughts of taking away members of the company, due to their amazing abilities, extending invitations to Tomoe, Mio, Lime.

      1. Then I guess Lime isn’t at fault here huh. That’s good.

Though I’m really losing trust in Hibiki here… Why can’t others just leave our OP MC alone and just fight what they want as long as they don’t disturb our MC?!

      2. when you put it in that way it sounds like she fallowing a different virson of Makoto’s “you hurt me i hurt you if you help me i help you” rule but more of “if a threat to human’s get rid of it but if it can be use for human’s take it”.
beast way to see thins is to think of Kuzonoha is something similar to a huge bee hive but it give out rilly nice things how ever if you meas with them to hurt them or trying to take there stuff by fores you’ll get stung BIG TIME.
and here is Hibiki poking it with a pointy stick

      3. @Pepaul

A beehive where the bees willingly leave honey outside of it for people in exchange for being able to hang around and not be bothered.

And then when the hive is kicked, it turns out that thanks to the hive being trans-dimensional in nature all of the bees are the size of humans and capable of teleportation. And now they’re all pissed.

      4. I still disagree that Hibiki is a racist. She did state that she don’t like racism but not outright condemn it, most likely because that will damage war effort. And what is wrong to trying to recruit capable people? Loyalty means nothing without tests like that.

Though I hate that her charisma bend people’s mind. But if they chose a choice with their own mind, then live and die for it, I think other should respect their decision. If you just deny their opinion cause you believe that they’re not capable to make an opinion, then you are just a sore loser, or worse, a dictator.

  13. Thanks for the chapter reigokai-sensei…
Nice aim makoto, you are to OP…
Why not hibiki have personality like kasumi utaha-sempai from koisuru metronom or akeno-sempai from HDXD…
Well it just my wish that already fall apart…. Hiks

  14. so kappas are also mamonos in a fantasy world… imagine the fight in land, they don’t seem that scary to fight thou. makoto is getting better with archery i woder if he can make a god like arc? or maybe the eldwas could do one. it could be very powerfull. srly a kappa in the sea.

  15. waaaaaa. finally its mako chan POV.

the last chapter is a bit…. i feel betrayed by lime who might turn sides. But dang Mako did it again! bring Lime back to his sense. ahaha

and well, i kinda regret it as well, agreed with Tomoe, Lime should be disciplined soon! he is one of core players in Kuzunoha Company as Tomoe’s pupil! /slave/ ahaha

    1. The danger of Lime jumping ship is gone, but he needs a refresher course in his training I think. A pet that disobeys his masters will be trouble if he isn’t disciplined appropriately.

      1. agreed! however it is most likely because of the charm power.

i wonder… could that power works with Tomoe or other asorans or not.
if it were…. im not sure what Mako chan will do.

        1. Remember it didnt work on Tomoe.. (they met on the place where makoto made a lake and found out Tomoe was a dragon and used his charm but it didnt work and etc)

      2. Charm can work for female members of Asora, and Charisma can work on any species in Asora. The only exceptions are Makoto and his three Main followers. They are bound by contract to him and he is physically immune to status effects. Not to mention they are all very powerful beings way above either heroes’ abilities. Hibiki has previously invited Tomoe and Mio before both have refused. Although the migrated species of Asora are powerful from Asora’s dense magical atmosphere and fruits and training, they are not truely bound to Makoto nor are they as powerful as Shiki, Mio, and Tomoe.
However Tomoki’s charm targets only women and have been shown to effect non hyumans as shown by female demons soldiers. It is shown that more powerful beings can resist charm, as shown by Tomoe and Sofie/ dragon slayer (not 100% sure of the name) but Sofie has been partially charmed. Hibiki supports the racist Hyuman society so although her charisma can effect Mamonos, it may have have reduced effects on everyone except Lime due to the message she is coming across
Tomoe definitely should know about Hibiki’s magic charisma, as she was also able to sense Tomoki’s charm. It may not be much but prior knowledge should help since you should notice that your judgement has been impaired

        1. Correction. Tomoki’s Charm and Hibiki’s Charisma work on both genders.

We’ve seen an example of Tomoki’s ability working on Hibiki’s male party members during their preparations to attack the Demons (the one where Naval sacrificed herself).

It’s just that Tomoki has no interest in other males, so if he Charms them, it’s probably only because he needs their money/influence, or to use them as cannon fodder.

As another example, Tomoki tried to use Charm on Makoto, and got him to perform some skinship.

          1. Oh man. It’s just occurred to me that Tomoki’s Charm is a skill he needs to activate and not a passive ability like Hibiki.

I completely forgot that since he seems to just always have it active.

    2. In Lime’s defence, Hibiki has divine charisma and they have been together for and extended period of time, to mind wipe him thoughts outside Her

  16. I just wonder how jin and the other students will react when he Tell’s them to teach there underclassmen?
knowing them they will ask for Makoto to keep training them so that they can be on his followers lev or the vary least 1/2 of it.

  17. Aaaw…. he didn’t realize it… i was hoping that Lime went to hibiki side and makoto allows it with a few restriction and remind him that “If there is a time where you become our enemy, just hope that it will be painless”

  18. Dear Reigokai,

    1) My comment is late and full of bad jokes. Firstly, thank you for reading.

    2) I agree with the previous comment. The name of some of the sea race(s) should be changed.
= About Sahagin, it should be Sahuagin.
= Also, Neptune Sea Road. I don’t know the Japanese text for it. Is it ‘toori’ ?
It should be Neptune’s Sea Flow. Toori means road/way/flow. ‘Flow’ sounds just about right. Or scrap it and we can call them Neptune’s-style. 😎

    3) The Heroes doesn’t deserve the title Hero. Especially Tomoki. Nothing ‘heroic’ comes from his actions. Better use Champions, as in Goddess’ Champions. (This one is just my suggestion for the comment section. Original novel texts says ‘Hero’ so we shouldn’t change that).

    1. although they are technically the goddess’s champions in the context of the story they are heroes.
they have a Divine Mission to save the Hyuman race and defeat(kill) the demon lord (and his whole species)

    2. Actually it was Sea Lord, not Sea Road. The ‘Kana’ pronunciation is very similar for both. However, The Kanji “Ou” has meaning as “king”

    3. I mean, under this circumstance, Hero is more of a title than anything else. Demons treat the name with relative contempt and call actual heroes of their side different names.

Calling them heroes is fine in my book.

    4. couldn’t sahagin be a reference from final fantasy?

well to the common masses in their world they are seen as heroes because they are the ray of hope to humanity so hero fits hibiki even without the charisma effect while if you can resist tomoki’s charm its dictator/chaos bringer(I wonder what’s the best word to describe trashmoki oh wait yeah trash with cheat.)

    1. No, no. He’s being uncool because he messed up the first time. This time he’s doing a purging strike to make up for it.

It’s like when you try to throw something and land/hook it just right to look cool, only to miss and have to awkwardly walk over, pick it up, and place it normally. I refer to those moments as “the walk of shame”.

  19. Wow… Last step to 200!!!

I’m still amazed that Makoto is still an idiot… after all the crap he went through, you’d expect him to be sharper and having more “street smarts”, but damn, he still goes on full senpai mode, not seeing that she’s just a stuck-up moron gobbling what she’s told and being all self righteous and manipulative, even contracting with most certainly, an evil god (not average ^^).

At least Tomoki’s a full-faced well identifiable prick, easy to predict, save for the princess… -_-UU

With everyone plotting – and I mean EVERYONE (Gods, kings, demons, heroes, even his followers) it’s amazing to see that the author doesn’t give Makoto the awareness that he’s ex-aequo to the goddess and that he’s on top of the food chain, making him a lull MC with inferiority complex that feels like soft persimmon, being pushed around.

With that said, thanks for the chapter and Good job as usual!!!

      1. I would have to disagree with that statement. He does admire hibiki but does have a misplace trust in her. When they first met he blabbed a lot to her and tomoe told him that was bad and he blew her off saying that he trust her. I agree that all this time you would assume his street smarts would atleast improve and for the most part it is a little but when concerning her it doesn’t, why tomoe keeps reminding him to be wary of her. I think even mío said it too.

        1. You know, whatever the fallout from his trust in Hibiki is, I hope there’s a slightly sweet scene between him and his followers afterwards.

Just a moment with him apologizing to his followers and thanking them for covering his ass. And they’ll, of course, say that it’s no trouble at all and more niceness happens.

      2. I think that if he falls out with Hibiki, he will really become indifferent to most things. The only thing he would care about in that world apart from his subjects, would be his students. I think it’s because Hibiki is there still and hasn’t betrayed him or done anything to oppose/ restrict him that he’s giving her the benefit of the doubt. Like Mokoto said, once you haven’t betrayed him then you are not his enemy….

      3. @Psychronia
I kinda hope for the opposite. That after Hibiki hurts him, someone would actually take the time to set him straight. His followers shelter him too much, he’s not a child anymore, but a boy on the verge of becoming a man. As powerful as he may be it won’t protect his fragile heart or mind, alternate worlds makotos were example of that. His going to need to face the world and realize that it isn’t what he thought it was or wanted it to be. It’s not just black and white, but countless shade of colors resulting in a bizarre and complex picture called life. That people aren’t what they appear on the surface but layers of emotions, thoughts, and intentions.
Yes i know he has grown from the Makoto of chapter one to the Makoto of now, but for the position he currently sets on his wisdom, experience, and know how are lacking to the point of being scary. He’s like a five year old holding a knife, it’s scary cause he could hurt himself or someone else if he’s not careful. He’s been improving steadily, but he’s not in the position for that. At this point Kuzunoha is probably known throughout the world and the number of people wanting to interact with him are going to increase. Right now growing steadily is a luxury and it’s going to create complication for him and those connect to him.

Sorry for the rant but i needed to get it out of my system.

        1. Hey, I can’t argue with anything you said there. I think Makoto’s strength gives him the leeway to forcibly take that luxury from “the harsh world”, so it’s fine as it is.

That said, someone else calling him out on it would also be a good development.

        2. Well people do take time to mature you can’t expect a kid still in his 2nd year of highschool to turn into an adult in merely a year no matter how intense his life expierence is maturing is a process that takes time. Makot already reached the pinacle in power as a mortal the author now is having him grow as a person now.

    1. I have to disagree a bit. Makoto does admired Hibiki a LOT and I mean A LOT. BUT! we can’t really blame him for that. I mean he have his mentality from the time he’s at Earth where his mindset is set that Hibiki is awesome and he just ordinary. To give a more simpler example, his admiration is similar to someone (maybe your best or girl/boyfriend) come to you and said that your loving and kind father is a psycho serial murderer who was planning to kill your sister and blame everything on you behind your back. You probably won’t believe him anyway. Same thing!

For the weak mentality part is also can’t blame on him too since he was raise and born normally and without feeling a STRONG mental impact (of the MC type) so he stuck with a normal people mindset. Example(again!), Here you meet President in power (I’ll use US Obama for reference and not Trump since I won’t bring political bullshit here). You also meet a GOD(real one) and BAM! he give you power to obliterate whitehouse and all lifeform inside in one punch. You NORMALLY don’t just go to Obama, smack his head and ask him to be your bitch or something like that. ORDINARY people would still just give respect to him even if he’s weaker and no longer got power over you. GET WHAT I’M TRYING TO SAY?

      1. glad to see someone seeing it how makoto sees it. too many people hating on makoto just because its obvious to the reader but not to makoto and his “normal” upbring. I don’t understand why people think just because makoto has power he shouldn’t be talked down when clearly he has flaws too like in the business side when zara talked down to him and gave him good advice(at least for me it seemed decent).

        1. In my opinion, Makoto is doing fine as it is. But if I had to explain why Makoto’s ignorance bugs people it would probably be the feeling of “we’ve done this already”.

Like you mentioned, Makoto had that experience with Zara. There’s a bunch of other stuff that felt like they should’ve taught him to doubt everyone he meets, and his dreams dropped some hints too. I can still believe that Makoto would act the way he currently is, but it isn’t hard to imagine this being frustrating to people who can’t suspend their disbelief on this matter.

      2. That’s because a lot of people reading this LN/WN are too accostumed with OP MC conquering labyrinth or killing demons right and left whereever they go at other LN/WN. They(readers) want Makoto to act according to “With great power comes great responsibility” and use his power as he see fit without knowing that he just a normal human who don’t even want to come to other world. His mind are set with his normal & peace 17 years in earth so why should he change his mindset when he got a godly power.? It’s same with Tomoe, Mio and Shiki, they want Makoto to act like a KING who have tremendous power and authority while he only think himself as normal person and don’t want to do anything with the said “king” bussiness.

I can give another example. Someone give you, a normal schoolboy/adult, a nuclear launch button, then the man told you “you can’t throw this button, give it to others or report it to authorities or else we’ll have to kill you and your family. You have to keep it 24/7 forever. It’s up to you to push the button or not push it at all”. Now tell me, are you gonna push that button knowing what’s gonna happened or just continue your normal daily life.?

There’s also issues of Tomoe, Mio and Shiki doing somethings without Makoto’s knowing (tho Makoto know some of it). Makoto just let them do wathever they want since he think he could trust them but how long that trust could last.? He just barely know Tomoe & co for 2 or 3 years. What’s gonna happened when Hibiki who he knows a lot better tell something really bad about his followers. Can he still believe them.?

        1. I don’t think we need to worry about him ever doubting his followers.

Firstly, he actually knows his followers better than Hibiki when it comes down to normal interactions and time spent. Heck, how long has it been since he arrived and formed contracts with them? Two years? Three? That’s already as much as or more than he knew anyone in his archery club.

        2. Your example is entrapment yet not detailed enough.

I will tell you this: any dumb shit just push the button deserve everything happen to him/her afterward. Should make sure of these answers:
          – Is the threat realistic? Ie is the blackmailer really hold his family captives? Or is that a prank? How do you know it is not a prank?
          – Is the target known at all? Or does that button aim a nukie right on their head? So the effort to bow down to threat become null?
          – Why exactly does it have to be that dumb shit to push the button? This question should be asked by the victim, preferably with tears and snots just so the blackmailer will feel pity to answer.

      3. From his conversation with Hibiki before, Makoto are more close and trusted her than tomoe & co. He even doubt tomoe word when she said Hibiki are planning something or want to exploit kuzunoha company to her benefit.
Yes, Makoto trust Tomoe, mio and shiki but how long his trust gonna last when they still hiding whatever they do from him. Most of the time, Makoto find out when it’s almost over or when it’s already done. If you read old chapters, Makoto never know important information and learned it later on from others not from his follower. Heck, Makoto only know he’s the rumored Devil after fighting Sofia for the second time (and it’s sofia who tell him that) while Tomoe know about “Devil” matter when she investigate the blue lake and meet with trashmoki but never tell Makoto about Devil identity even when he ask “who’s the Devil”. Am i wrong.?

        1. The reason Tomoe never said he was the Devil was because, 1) he didn’t ask, and 2) she judged letting him discover it himself wouldn’t endanger him. Instead, she decided that it would be amusing if he discovered it himself. There’s no reason to drag this out now.

      4. his easy-going approach is exactly what the gods want him to do though. he is very much a god-like entity now. if he had started creating an empire like Aion or something, right from the beginning, or full moral-fag like Hibiki, the Goddess and probably the Earth gods will come wipe his ass on the floor. the ideal god in most stories is one who is benign and absent. to excercise power just because you have it would just bring great devastation if not unpredictable results.

      5. I guess Mokoto is on a need to know basis. I mean, If he DID know certain things, it would really depress, stress, confuse and probably cause him to go mad with hate. His subordinates recognized this and to make their master life more peaceful and enjoyable, they deal with most issues in secret.
Sure there’s the issue of saying that they should tell him regardless but knowing too much is not necessarily a good thing. Just keep things fairly simple plus his subordinates won’t betray him unlike friends and others.

      6. @Rei
What do you mean “Hibiki who he knows a lot better”? To my understanding, all the things he knows about her are limited to the character she was at school, besides that he knows almost nothing. The only time he interacted with her on Earth was during a sports club meeting and that was only once.
This may seem bias since am arguing against you, but he knows Tomoe, Mio, and Shiki a lot better then Hibiki. He’s interacted and talk to them far more then he ever had with Hibiki. In fact, it could be argued that he knows Mio the best out of all of them. She didn’t become a person until her contract with him and she’s been with him since. The only thing Hibiki has over them is that she’s from Japan and is his senpai.

    2. There is currently little reason for him to doubt Hibiki. He doesn’t have access to her thoughts. Think about all his interactions with her.

All he really has is Tomoe telling him to that he is thinking of her too highly. He is listening to Tomoe but it is not like he is going to blindly believe her without evidence.

And even Tomoe isn’t saying much bad about her specifically.

    3. I’d say his trust in his senpai is somewhat understandable. Keep in mind he was really happy to actually meet someone from his world that he knew, and in their previous world Hibiki was a perfect existence within the school so to speak. In this world, now, in time he’ll probably notice she isn’t all that amazing, but right now his impression of her is mostly still in that same mentality he had regarding her in the other world. Even in this chapter, he already starts having doubts about her abilities.

As for being on top of the food chain and whatever, the gods that came over specifically made him fight Athena with the understanding that he’d lose, and he still performed far better than they imagined. It worked out for them though, because Athena still managed to make it look like an easy, one sided victory on her part. That was an experience for Makoto, actually experiencing defeat for the first time in the series, and it also helped curb any ego he might develop, teaching him humility so to speak. He learned to not underestimate or make light of the gods and goddesses. Like, when he was making a deal with the Bug to be able to speak hyuman language, he was pretty confrontational. Makoto is already developing slowly, he isnt as naive and all as he was before, as you can see on occasion especially in his conversations with the demon race, like how he is prepared to fight if any of his people are harmed and all that.

    4. Current Makoto thinking is probably on the line of “dammit all this job is tiring and now I have to deal with politics too? fuck this, I got too many things to do. I will just destroy them if they do something to me. I have enough power anyway.” and “shiki/tomoe/root/ema/whatever will probably do something anyway if they threathen me”

the problem is, his trait is reinforced and supported by some of the most powerful being on the world and they have enough insight to know what he thinks and what will hurt him and they act on his best interest (mostly) and he trust them somewhat from his heart so not much chance of development on his part. The last time he have development, nobody was beside him (meeting with the merchant on academy city).

    5. My reaction would be: “He was just ‘literally’ a normal teenager from 21st century earth, we can’t expect him to be domineering and sharp like a certain xianxia MC”.
Basically, his senpai didn’t do any wrong doing or offense Makoto since back in earth and even yet after kidnapped by ‘bugdess’. If the MC is a normal person, why would I hate my senpai? I’m sure Makoto also knew some bad point that his senpai has. Does that make someone deserved to be hate? The psychology of common folk who only want to have a peace life actually very simple. ‘It’s better not to hate than hate for their own good’.
Regardless, he already stamped Hibiki as the same good person he knew back from Earth. He’s not that stupid I think. It’s more like he have faith from what he experienced back from his old world. Anyway, this is also why Tomoe so infatuated with Makoto. Because, unlike other humans (heroes), Makoto main line of thought didn’t change just because his situation are changed. Whether he got power, popularity, wealth, and authority more than he could ever imagined to have in earth, Makoto is still the same person. Of course, some meetings actually mature his perspective. But those weren’t drastic things to change his personality.

In my conclusion, the author really want to distinguish Makoto as character that develop not because of situation or surroundings, but more whether worthy individuals actually could change him. For example, if actually Makoto didn’t met Shiki, he might develop to those “sharp & domineering” character but honestly some might not like those development.

    6. After chapter 198 know we knew why hibiki got killed by makoto and alternate timeline (dream)..

By on another timeline when makoto on lily side.. why he fought trashmoki in the end.. and trashmoki didn’t know lily isn’t got controlled by his trash eye..

And for guys who still didn’t understand joke about fish race that look like gag-manga character..
      Here the reference
      https://www.dreamstime.com/stock-illustration-red-fish-arms-legs-walking-d-illustration-image41741023

    7. Whoa whoa whoa. Hibiki has problems, but she’s definitely not a moron. She’s a normal human with a sense of responsibility who was given great power in order to save hyumanity. Ignoring who’s at fault in the war between hyumans and demons, the demons won’t rest until hyumans are completely destroyed or enslaved. When she saw that she didn’t have enough strength to defeat demon generals, she sought more power. When she sees people with power who won’t stand on her side, she makes plans to deal with them in case they side with her enemies later (while also trying to convince them to join her side).

… She’s actually a really smart lady. It’s just too bad she’s limited by common sense.

Makoto is very slowly realizing how strong he is. “As long as I can see it, I can hit it” is a good step in the right direction for a god. Whether or not he’s as strong as Bug is debatable, but he’s not ready to face her because he can’t control his power very well – normally speaking, if your strength doubles every time you work out, you’ll be breaking shit left and right until you get used to it, or unless you use weights to restrict your body strength. Makoto’s in pretty much the same situation, so he’ll need to be able to overwhelm Bug in one shot with brute power, or he’ll need to gain much better control over what he has.

    8. I disagree, Makoto is plenty smart for his age. Think about it a 17 year old or younger is thrown into a world where EVERY ONE is a deceptive creep trying to one up eachother. On top of that he is gifted with incredable power that grows without stopping. Sure he indeed needs to get smarter as he goes and he has btw. But he is still a kid, and the author does an awsome job showing that. While annoying, this is what you get when your mc is a teenager. Luckily though he has 3 reliable followers to make up for it.

        1. Assuming the input of X = number of mistakes and Y = number of punches, the answer is double the number of mistakes made by Oni!

The possibility of Y = X + 1 is eliminated because we know what type of teacher Tomoe, and by extension Komoe, is.

        2. Now a days? None. None of them are stupid enough to go against Komoe-hime at this point, and all the suicidal ones should’ve been weeded out by now.

      1. None because they mean nothing more than variables that’s initialized. They could be use as coordinates on a graph, but it would simply be one point.

You only get one point satria.

      2. @Psychronia
        You’ve got some talent, don’t you !? Though, that’s still insufficient ! AHAHAHAHAHAHAH !
        I will just say this : 45

  20. I thought that the first attack on purple cloud-san was the one described in the previous chapter, ahaha so that made me a bit confused. It all makes sense now lol, and the part where the attack seemed like it was going towards lime and party was actually intended x)

Thank you very much for the chapter!

  21. Thank yoi for the chapter!!!! Not to over burden you, but how is your original story coming along? In many ways, I enjoy that character more than Makoto lol!! Your character is a lot more self confident.

  22. hmm…i just nodes something. in Asora each the residents that came fall in a element type and if i put the order they came…earth’ wood’ air, and now water…so do’s that mean we will get some fire type’s next time and will there be more?
after all asora is still growing and we dont know what will chant in Asora land scape when 4rth come’s to the family.

      1. lol ya i imagine Tomoe will LOVE to have a hot springs to her liking and the question is will it be mix or separated bathing ?

      1. hmm…they seam more like a rock and steel type….and no im not using pokemon as a referents.
but back to the fire deal to me being a fire type means there fire resistant/proof or that they can handle super high tempters like dragonewt’s or something that have a human like in shape but with some differences for they allways need more workers in there store’s.

  23. “I felt like I once again confirmed that the bow is something irreplaceable for me.”

    Makoto X Azusa

A Shikigami ain’t enough we also need

    A Tsukumogami

      1. Well he was noticed and senpia will always be noticing you. You will always be on her mind. I’m her heart I’m not so sure but you can try convince her to join your side or at least understand, accept and probably share your views and beliefs🙃🙂😶

    1. The one true ship.

If only his followers would’ve taken the form of a bow fromnthe contract instead. Then Makoto would have no qualms “plucking their strings” all day long.

      1. @Psychronia Tomoe and other superior dragons are a shapeshifters right? Too bad Makoto can see through magic. I can see the ‘pervert’ attempting but failing miserably in the end though (lol).

        1. Well firstly, I don’t think Makoto can see through shapeshifting. He can see through illusions, but when something is actually in a different form, he won’t know the details beyond possibly sensing information from Sakai.

Secondly, I don’t think shapeshifting is specifically a superior dragon skill. They can change into hyuman forms and alter their ages, but even something like gender is beyond unusual if Tomoe’s initial reaction to Root is any indication.

      1. well if what ever the secret that spoler-kun stated that it will come out there a chants that it go from “threat lev delta” to ‘must NEVER make them are enemy and leave them alone” for how many secrets that are ground breaking secrets that makoto knows? the ideantaty of the demon, ware the spider of clamaty have gone to, what the goddes is like, that there a another world and can only enter if you friendly with a pertictelr person who have a store with strong memberrs. rilly any thing if up in the air and it just seeing what lands.

    1. Nah, Asoran animals don’t evolve like that, I don’t think. Plus, they could probably take down actual Krakens and Megalodons in this world of weaksauce monsters.

I’m more interested in the strength of their plankton…

      1. I can see Asoran Planktons singing the F.U.N song(Spongebob reference)

“F is for fire that burns down the whole town!
        U is for uranium… bombs!
N is for no survivors when you..”

I tried to make a version for this novel but….

        1. As I understand it, Gaunts are less a rank of power and more a special “individual” that’s ascended from whatever sort of creature they were before.

Since their strength is varied on an individual level, we should leave them out of the equation. That said, I assume they’re in the range somewhere between hyumans and dragons.

  24. This pace is really unreal now. I have to be checking everyday now to tell now confuse i’m becoming to the release. DON’T GET ME WRONG!! IT’S NOT LIKE I’M COMPLAINING OR ANYTHING BUT JUST CONCERN FOR OUR TRANSLATOR….. Unnecessary concerns right?

    1. well you can also go to novelupdates.com for your novel update needs though it doesn’t show any notes like patch 2.0 from reigokai.

  25. Wow, you really read each of those 600 comments? That’s a lot.

Nothing much to say about this chapter per se. Since its just showing another POV (Makoto’s) of the previous chapter.

But that race, fish that is humanoid…. they remind me of the fishes in spongebob lol, the inhabitants of Bikini Bottom. I totally agree with Makoto, they really is like a joke, I giggled a bdit at that part.

Thanks as always Reigokai. You’re the man.

  26. Thanks for the chapter Reigokai San.
The chapter was great. The makoto arrow of light sound just like beam cannon from the animation vandread but more powerful and Super accurate.

  27. 1) Thanks for the translation

    2) I was just thinking that Makoto could be called the Devil King Makoto b/c he has his own world that is filling up with non-hyumans that the Goddess and her followers would treat as a hellish place (not b/c of the training).
    3) I am waiting for a evil 3rd party God/Goddess to show up and Makoto saves the Bug-Goddess from the being. Not to mention an epic war where the heroes are force to serve under him.

    4) Finally, it has been bothering me, and nobody seems interested, about how there were demons that actually rather stay as slaves in the Goddess’ world rather than fight for their lives. I mean it seems that they could actually win even with the two “heroes” being there. So anybody have any thoughts on the topic?

    1. I don’t really know what to say about those demons. Their leader seemed to be a noble, so maybe he wanted to hand the demon race over as slaves so long as he was able to be their leader? I just don’t know.

    2. Ooo…an invading, actual evil god could be a nice development.

The goddess supporters isn’t going to be a threat as far as we know though. Rona is practically the leader after anyone above her got killed in the incident. She’s fanatically loyal to Zef (more so than to a demon king), so they’ll be fine as long as Zef is in charge.

      1. Elder gods/things are final boss material anything else are just bonus fights. Speaking of Elder gods Makoto is Similar to the Dreamer Azathoth. The moment Makoto wakes up from that certain maddening Dream, we all knew Bug was screwed in the near future(Kinda like when Azathoth wakes up everything ends).

        1. I think the problem is that lovecraftian beings are by nature, irresistible and ridiculously powerful. Creating stories that feature them risk either turning the eldritch creatures into jokes, or unrelatable characters that we can’t comprehend.

      2. Though, Psychronia, I think that the “not being able to comprehend them” is an essential part of what lovecraftian cosmic horror is.

You do however have a point. While it’s awesome, not all narratives are fit to put cosmic horrors in them. After all, if the lovecraftian elements are done right, then it takes over almost everything else int he story if the author isn’t careful enough. That, or it just ends up as lackluster.

        1. The way I see it, there are only three ways to feature a creature of that nature without the writing suffering from it. The first option is to weaken the creature. Either by making it not entirely “present” other than through some smaller medium, or by putting it at a really weak stage of its life-reincarnation into the body of something weak, perhaps.

The second option is to make the main character the creature and just leave the side effects unnoticed, much like Makoto and his out-flowing mana early on.

Lastly, there’s the Nyaruko route where you just make it no particularly big deal and play it for laughs.

Huh…I’m suddenly reminded of a story I wrote as a kid that was my stab at the horror genre, where I made a MC that hunted horror story creatures because he was himself an immortal with a soul too horrifying to look at. It ended up leaning towards slice-of-life + philisophy.

          1. I’m fairly certain that something I had in my Rebirth story on my site could be considered an eldritch creature. I never named it as such, just a being from a dead universe seeking to conquer ours. The only thing I used it for was the catalyst for a freak accident of nature that resulted in something unheard of.

      3. By the way, what’s your favorite lovecraftian entity(or entities) in video games?
Mine is from the Elder Scrolls series. There are several choices within the lore, but I’d have to choose between either Sithis, Hermaeus Mora, and Sheogorath as my 3 favorites. Though, technically speaking, Lorkhan as well as all of the Aedras and Daedras fit the bill as well. Oh, and also the Hists primordial hive minded trees as well.

        1. Kirby! 😀

…Okay, okay. Without being cute about it, I honestly don’t know many video games with those kinds of creature, since I’m really no good with horror. Anything I know would be the more mainstream ones like Mass Effect’s villains, Chzo from the John Defoe Tetra-logy, and the Nameless God from Salt and Sanctuary are what come to mind.

          1. Now that I think about it… I really wouldn’t want to meet a being like Kirby… That’s terrifying. I 100% consider his existence to be of an eldritch kind.

          2. Oh, yeah. I realized after watching a streamer play Kirby for the first time.

            Facts about Kirby:
            1. It eats ANYTHING.
            2. Almost every final boss of its games is an eldritch creature in its own right. Which Kirby usually kills with stolen superpowers.
            3. Kirby is still just a baby…

          3. Wait.. Kirby is still just a baby? Oh god… Here’s a theory: An adult fully grown form of Kirby should be able to absorb a planet or a sun easily, and should be counted as a cosmic entity.

          4. I mean… literally absorbing things far larger than himself… I’ve always jokingly thought of him have a black hole inside of him… but now I seriously think that his insides are similar to a black hole, and to a supermassive black hole when fully grown. (By the way, the center of our galaxy(Milky Way) is a gigantic supermassive black hole around which everything else in our galaxy orbit. Imagine that power possible to be used/released at will to absorb anything.)

          5. Well, Kirby will never develop into an adult and we’ll probably never see anyone of the same race other than Meta Knight, so we can just use our imaginations for that.

I don’t remember why, but I remember being under the impression that rather than a black hole, Kirby’s stomach simply connected to a pocket dimension(I guess kinda like Asora).

          6. Oh, and by the way, completely unrelated, but did you read all of the POV chapters? I just now read the Tsukiyomi POV chapter(also known as the 4th prologue chapter) again(the last time I read it was when there where only 70 translated chapters). I feel that I now understand much more of that chapter’s content. And things get even more interesting when reading the newly translated Side Story 3, which is from the perspective of Susanoo.

Here’s the link for the new side story if you haven’t read it yet:
            https://www.lightnovelbastion.com/release.php?p=394

Both chapters are from the point of view of the gods, and they mostly take place on Earth.

      4. Psychronia, about that pov and that side story, some of the things I really like in them are the following:

-After reading the new side story, we can finally understand what the goddess meant in the Tsukiyomi pov(aka prologue 4) when she called him a “mere moon god”.

-I had completely forgotten something very important about the goddess. In the Tsukiyomi pov, it’s stated by him that the Goddess is a goddess of creation(though she wasn’t always one, it being more of a recent(from the perspective of gods) thing). Back when it was first translated, we had no way to understand how big of deal that is. But ever since the Root and creation magic incident with Makoto(plus the latest visit of Shiva), we now understand what it means. Since it has been such a long time sine I had read that pov, and since Shiva said that most gods don’t even have creation magic, I had thought that the bug goddess was included among those who didn’t have creation magic. I now know I was wrong and this now makes much more sense as to why such a bitch of goddess has so much influence.

-Now I also realize that somehow, Tsukiyomi and Makoto are very similar to each other. Both grew up under two siblings more prominent than them, and with a similar relationship between all of them. Both are considered weird for their concentration and the amount of work they get done(kinda). Both are underestimated by the bug goddess(and other gods(since the goddess has allies and also because most gods made fun of Tsukiyomi being a moon god thinking his job to be an easy one when it in fact was one of the hardest one). And both of them hae very similar overall attitude.^^

  28. Spoiler?
From what I have gathered from reading the comments, 4th contract will be on lorel?

    Thanks for the chap reigokai-sama..
    I check the site 3 times a day everyday..lol

      1. the only ones that can qualify are root and zef, but if its true its in the Lorel Union it could be Chiya with her Mana larger than the heroes but that would be a long shot

      2. hmm…that is kind of a strach how ever it do’s not mean they don’t meat the 4th there for they found Shiki at the tree onger village.
so ether they bump in to the 4th or they had to fight 4th.

  29. Thanks 4 the chapter!

He doesn’t have to worry about range. Holy Moly Guacamole! Makoto has ICBA (Intercontinental Ballistic Arrow). As long as he have targeting data, he’ll hit.

    1. that reminded me of mahouka koukou no rettousei’s Shiba Tatsuya LOL. gf battle formation of warships, yo asses got nuked and without nuclear fallout damage no less…. by yer own damm flag. XD

    1. Yup, what a surprise release…
      :3…

      — I can’t believe it.
Even though she should be able to do something about an opponent of that level. —
Please, don’t compare mortal lvl power with ur demigod lvl power, Makoto…
      >.<…

      — I have stopped worrying about whether it will reach or not.
If I can see it, I can hit it. —
Yup, that's ur current power lvl Makoto…
      XD…

  30. And we’re almost off to 300 comments xD

Btw.. Why didn’t tomoe just told makoto that lime got naturally charmed etc etc. That would prolly make makoto more wary of his senpai

    1. It is not good to gossip about people’s love affairs.

Besides, Makoto wouldn’t mind that much if Lime wanted to join Hibiki’s party, and would probably be suprised that Lime rejected the offer.

    2. as you said “naturally” charmed. let’s face it hibiki’s charisma is just making your impression to someone better if they outright hate what your doing they’ll still oppose you like what the limia nobles are doing against hibiki’s democracy plan. she hasn’t shown any signs of outright hostility to makoto’s group in the open so why should he be that wary of his “perfect’ senpai

      1. ehem..
would that charisma even affect to Makoto..

remember the naturally charm is boosted by the goddess that’s why the peopple get affected very quickly

      2. Sorry I’m not sure what you’re getting at, so what if the charisma doesn’t affect makoto? hibiki still hasn’t done anything bad to him yet to make him be wary of herself. asking his followers to join her isn’t anything bad at least in makoto’s view point

      3. I think makoto said he felt something weird about hibiki when he talked with her, I think he rejected her magic charisma

  31. Thanks for you hard work Reigokai- Senpai .

You translating these chapters gives me something to look forward to in life. For these I am really grateful.
Please don’t tire your self out for our sakes.
    Thanks for the surprise chapter

  32. “I do have Azusa and magic after all. I actually don’t have to worry about range.” (Makoto
the hell ………….. makoto kun you’re scary !!!!|
maybe future god makoto will became god of war or god of destruction

Thank for the chapter reigo Senpai >w<

  33. Excuse my language, but can someone please tell Makoto to stop sucking his senpai’s d**k? What happened to the Makoto who, as he was fighting the demon generals, made sure to hold back because he wasn’t sure if Hibiki would turn into his enemy? Now it feels like he worships her. What, senpai can’t beat this cloud? But… she’s senpai. Whatever, I’ll do it for her. He states Tomoe is his family, but blatantly ignores her warnings about Hibiki, too. This is getting ridiculous.

    1. I don’t remember him holding back because he was wary of hibiki though. wasn’t it because he didn’t want to kill the demon side as much as possible hence why he saved IO from the soul eating drug? Also give me a good reason why he should be wary based on his perspective because from his perspective hibiki hasn’t done anything bad yet to him

  34. Didnt they already compared the followers with the 4 great spirit lords serving under bug?
    Shiki = earth spirit
    Mio = Fire spirit
    Then tomoe equal air?
Wouldn’t one of the seafolk be water then?
