Chapter 267: It was preparation

“The sky is already graying. Hah…looks like this was an all-nighter.” (Makoto)
At a place a little further away from the entrance of the grand labyrinth, returning to the portal that let’s you go to the floors you have already been to, the far away sky was faintly changing in color.
It might be a bit fast to call it gray.
The main point is that it was an all-nighter.
Now, I will return to the hotel, arrange my thoughts on the current situation, and practice with the bow for recreation… yeah, there’s no doubt it will be morning by then.
It is true that I can go without sleeping for several days though.
Must be thanks to my youth.
In just this kind of times, I honestly think it is great that I am young.
Normally, there’s quite a lot of times where I feel like I am lacking in experience and lacking in ability as well, so there’s not many times where I get happy about being young.
“Well then, let’s return to the hote—huh?” (Makoto)
I call both Akashi-san and Yuduki-san who used the portal together with me.
Before, Akashi-san had an ashen face and had a hand on the wall with her face facing down breathing heavily. Then, how is she now. Her face is ghastly pale and Yuduki-san is lending her a shoulder.
Can’t be helped.
Since then, her muddy memories were slowly returning, and had remembered what she did and for whose sake after all.
For the sake of a master that she has not seen yet, Akashi-san was trying to increase the amount of comrades. Trying to reel in Yuduki-san, Iroha-chan, Shougetsu-san and the others.
Moreover, as if rubbing salt to the wound, the one who ordered this was the person that seemed like she would become a strong and dependable ally, Iroha-chan’s mother, Haruka-san.
There’s a lot she can’t simply swallow.
She was looking for her in order to have her become their strength, and yet, not only was she lured, she was forced to change sides.
“I…what have I done…” (Akashi)
“Akashi, just think about returning and getting rest.” (Yuduki)
But Akashi-san is still the better one.
Even when looking back at her memories, the time she was charmed was not that long.
She hasn’t hurt people willingly for the sake of Tomoki, or killed anyone yet.
That’s why…she probably can still return.
I think it is fine.
Those three that I killed have long since killed people for his sake.
If those three were trash to begin with and didn’t think anything about it…I probably would have thought they were still saveable.
But those girls were not.
They were all girls that had strong conviction and ideals.
That’s why it was ‘too late’.
There’s no point in dispelling the charm.
Even if it is dispelled, as long as there’s no miracle occurring, in the end, they will just…

Eh?
Why was I able to tell all that in that one instant?
Hmm…did the power of Tomoe flow into me again?
It happens every now and then.
Even though it would be pretty useful if I were able to activate it at will, I still am not able to.
Yeah, I could tell.
When I once again look back, I could roughly grasp the memories -or maybe it was the knowledge- of those three and also their upbringing.
If I had to put it in words, it would be as if a drawer I didn’t know of had been stealthily added in my own room. A strange sensation.
Those three were originally the daughters of nobles in the Empire.
They held deep concerns towards the current situation of the Empire, especially in the relationship with the surrounding countries, and did their best to try and bring their points to the center of the Empire in a fair and square manner.
But it was the misfortune of them that Tomoki was in the Empire at that time.
Ah, so this is the Pione person.
It is certainly true that if she is like this, she would definitely hate me.
I have killed a close friend of hers after all.
Or more like, to think I would see the face of the woman called Pione in such a manner.
Even though I haven’t met her in person, her figure was already inside my head, and have already seen her laugh, cry, and get angry.
Truly a strange feeling.
“Monster huh. It is true that I am steadily straying from the boundaries of a human being. Even I can tell that.” (Makoto)
“Eh?”
“It is nothing. Let’s go—hm?” (Makoto)
I unintentionally mutter the word that the gazes that are normally directed at me say.
Yuduki-san sharply reacts to it, but I just wash it away.
It is not really something to tell others after all.
The moment I was going to urge them to return, familiar presences appeared from the portal.
Oh, it really is the two birds one stone.
“Now, let’s return. If we don’t return to our beds while it is still dark, we will create unnecessary worry.”
“We somehow made it.”
“Sniff sniff, this is black. A black hole, you know? A bottomless pit, you know?” <black as in wrong>
It seems like the three are in a hurry.
One of them looks incredibly reluctant.
“Beren, Hokuto, Shii, what are you guys doing so late?” (Makoto)
“Geh, Waka-sama!”

He seriously went ‘Geh’.
“You’re not gonna say you went to the labyrinth to train, right?” (Makoto)
“Ah, no. Uhm, you see…” (Beren)
Unclear words came out from Beren.
“How should I explain it…” (Hokuto)
Hokuto is the same.
“In my case, it was practically kidnapping.” (Shii)
Shii’s words were clear, but it is not the answer I am looking for.
“Beren?” (Makoto)
I once again ask.
I am not really angry. I simply want to hear what they were doing.
My tone is not severe since the beginning.
“If I had to put it in words…it is embarrassing to say, but it is like preparation.” (Beren)
Preparation?
Hokuto also nodded at the words of Beren.
Shii was discouraged and sighed.
I should try asking the continuation from her.
“Shii, what were you guys doing?” (Makoto)
“Thanks for asking, Waka-sama! Those two were cruel. They tied the opposing me in a tortoise shell style and kidnapped me into the dungeon.” (Shii)
“?!!”
“Hoh hoh, and?” (Makoto)
For now, let’s leave aside the talk about tortoise shell and kidnap, and see what she has to say.
From what I see of the gazes Beren and Hokuto direct at her, there must be some sort of reason behind this.
“From what I saw…the last part today was…pretty tough for us. Mainly for me and Beren-dono. But from tomorrow on–wait, that’s today? Ah, my sleep time!” (Shii)
“Continue.” (Makoto)
“Even so, if we were to bring the masterpiece series of Beren-dono, we might damage the labyrinth, so we decided on gaining experience first by going beforehand.” (Shii)
“Uhu.” (Makoto)
“Beren said that we should prepare ourselves beforehand in order to accompany Waka-sama and the others. And so, it ended up in us leaving at night.” (Shii)
I see.
Well then, let’s hear about the kidnapping and the tortoise shell since I have the chance.
“I see, I understand. And so, about the kidnapping…” (Makoto)
“I said ‘I haven’t gotten serious yet, so it will be fine’ and tried to go back to sleep! I would probably be able to manage somehow tomorrow after all. And yet, Hokuto-cchi used some sort of tying technique, tied me up in an instant, and forced me to go to the labyrinth!” (Shii)
“Shii, it is fine. It seems like you were bothered by it, but you were plenty slim and light, you know. There’s no need to get anxious about your muscles. I think it is attractive.” (Hokuto)
“Shut up! I don’t know whose suggestion it was, but repeating the same thing over and over again doesn’t work, okay?!” (Shii)
…So Hokuto was the one who carried her there.
And he made a follow-up by saying she was light.
He has said those words several times already, moreover, Shii should be angry about the kidnapping.
This is derailing.
Well, in this kind of aspects, I can’t say much about others.
“Waka-sama! We are truly sorry for doing something like this without your forgiveness! But please, please bring us to the labyrinth as well. We will definitely—” (Beren)
“Of course, that’s what I was intending to do, Beren. My feelings have not changed at all.” (Makoto)
“!”
“I am looking forward to the results of your preparation. However! I won’t forgive any recklessness that might affect your health. Understood?” (Makoto)
But well, looks like it was my misunderstanding. I thought we had easily arrived at the lower floors.
Beren and Shii were actually beginning to feel it tough.
If I believe in the words of Shii, apparently, she can still manage in the next exploration without any preparation though.
And Beren as well, if he were to bring his treasured equipment without any restraint, he would have plenty leeway.
He has quite the outrageous equipment, so even I can tell.
But it is probably difficult to use them around this place.
To take into consideration the well-being of the labyrinth, or take into consideration the well-being of Beren; there’s no need to place a balance in which one is more important.
I will have him redo the selection of the equipment he will be bringing, and have him do his best as Beren ver. 1.1.
I wouldn’t want him get injured by doing too much of those preparations.
From what I have heard while we were walking to the Chihiro Man Rai restaurant, Hokuto doesn’t really have much difficulties in battle, but it seems the high pace exploration and mapping at the same time was beginning to prove difficult.
It seems he also thought that Shii required the preparation for tomorrow.
Looks like the three had their own places of concern.
I am probably the one who should notice these kind of things and do follow-ups for it.
We can have Mio help in the mapping, and regarding the weapons, we can reselect it to the ones that are best suited for the labyrinth.
And about Shii, we can have her get some advice from Akua and Eris.
The cordial backup of Asora is one of our big strengths.
Inside the labyrinth, a part of that strength is restricted, but it is not like we are always inside the labyrinth anyways.
We have to properly make use of it.
“Thank you very much!!”
“Same here, it is a big help that you guys are doing your best. Thanks.” (Makoto)
As I grew aware that my consideration towards the company’s employees was not enough, we returned to the hotel.
Even though it is this time of the day, the moment we entered, quite a good amount of people welcomed us which surprised me a bit.
Chihiro Man Rai restaurant is impressive.
Are they active at full force 24/7?
****
Temple Avenue.
When going to the deep parts, you will find quite a good amount of temples of Lorel’s Spirit religion, and there’s one Kishimo temple there as well.
This underground area, where there’s no average temple, was currently being used for something different from religion.
But for the people that use this place as a stronghold, it is not that it is different from religion, it might be called a new religion.
A new existence that should be loved and revered.
It is the headquarters for the people that have been taught and are spreading the existence of the Empire’s hero, Iwahashi Tomoki.
“Looks like Akashi has failed. I still don’t know the particulars, but the communication with Manju was severed.”
At an underground hall where there’s purple smoke floating around, a report was being relayed.
Manju is the suspicious bar that Makoto had stepped into not that long ago.
The woman that was listening to the report shook her head to the sides in sadness.
“I thought that I would finally be able to teach Iroha about that person. As I thought, it wasn’t something to leave in the hands of the inexperienced Akashi.”
“Haruka-sama…”
“Look for a chance, in as peaceable manner as possible. There’s no need to hurry. It is not like there’s anything that girl, who has not stepped into a ruling position and doesn’t know left from right, can do. And, if Akashi is not dead, retrieve her. She should still have her uses.” (Haruka)
“Understood.”
“Seriously, if we offer the people and the control to Tomoki-sama, everyone would be able to live in happiness. My daughter is really a troublesome one. Not knowing is truly pitiful. Don’t you think so as well?” (Haruka)
“Yes. A life without knowing of Tomoki-sama is just worthless.”
The informant responds to the words of Haruka as if it was obvious.
There was no hesitation in her eyes and no doubt in her words.
Words that came from her innermost depths.
As if saying she was also of the same opinion, Haruka smiles.
“Is this what they call ‘the pleasures of subordination’, Haruka?”
“…That’s unrefined, Kougetsu-sama.” (Haruka)
“If I don’t interject here, it will once again end in foolish racket.” (Kougetsu)
“Are you denying the love of Tomoki-sama?” (Haruka)
The eyes of Haruka that had been gentle until now, were now showing sharp hostility and bloodlust.
The man that had just entered the place, Kougetsu, shrug his shoulders and shakes his head to the sides.
“No way. You have heard already, right? I am the one cooperating with Tomoki-sama. In other words, your ally. What I wanted to say was that you should do what needs to be done before drowning as much as you want in that love of yours.” (Kougetsu)
“What has to be done, huh. This city, the settlements in the surroundings, the real power of the Osakabe household; isn’t it almost all in your hands now? I as well, for the sake of showing my love to Tomoki-sama, won’t be frugal about my cooperation with you, Kougetsu-sama.” (Haruka)
“That’s what I am talking about, Haruka. The problem is that it is ‘almost’. It is not complete yet.” (Kougetsu)
“Men are always hurried in that way. If we continue further, as long as the father of Iroha doesn’t die, it cannot proceed. We have to make him die in a natural-looking death so that even Sairitz doesn’t suspect anything, or it will turn troublesome.” (Haruka)
“…The father of Iroha, huh.” (Kougetsu)
Haruka’s manner of speaking makes Kougetsu narrow his eyes.
Because he felt two meanings behind her not calling him her husband.
The first one is that he is not the ‘true father’ of Iroha; and the other is that he was certainly one of the people she loved, and yet, she said it as if her relationship with him was far away.
(In those days, everyone in the Osakabe’s authorities knew of their blighted love, but…the charm of the hero is truly scary. Once she fell to it, she happily did things like revealing the father of Iroha was the current head, and continuously prescribed medicine that was actually poison and would definitely not be discovered.) (Kougetsu)
Kougetsu himself doesn’t wish to cooperate with the Empire.
He is currently resisting the charm of the hero and is utilizing the Empire. After grasping the real power of the Osakabe household, he plans on eliminating everyone, beginning with Haruka.
The effect that the power called charm brings about, Kougetsu properly felt it as a threat.
“Yeah, her father. Wait for only a few months. And then, feel free to make the children that you have influenced into the head of the family. You can take one of the princesses here and make her the successor for you to control. The problematic thing has been dealt with, since they have already been taught to love Tomoki-sama.” (Haruka)
“Haruka, you also know about the irregulars called the Kuzunoha Company, right? Thinking about his connection with Sairitz, there’s no doubt that they have some sort of aim with the Osakabe.” (Kougetsu)
“Is that your reason for hurrying? You can just leave those kind of guys alone. The circumstances of Iroha are well known. And in turn, the things that Kuzunoha Company can do are also limited.” (Haruka)
“So you are telling me that it was a complete coincidence that the only girl in the Osakabe household, who has not been caught in the charm, has come in contact with a foreign company that is connected with Sairitz, and that I shouldn’t worry at all about it?” (Kougetsu)
“Yes. The situation has advanced plenty. We have already won. There’s no need to involve ourselves in it and have people die pointlessly, like the time with the Shadowless girls.” (Haruka)
“…I see.” (Kougetsu)
The assassination attempt with the Shadowless class assassins that ended  in failure.
Moreover, not only did they not hunt Iroha, for some reason, they headed towards the company’s representative, Raidou, and got disposed of instead.
To be exact, it was them doing what they wanted, and it wasn’t the error of Kougetsu, but a failure is a failure.
It is also true that important pawns were pointlessly lost.
The biting words of Haruka had enough effect to stop the pressing of Kougetsu.
Kougetsu had a bitter expression surface and only gestured in response as he turned on his heels.
“Are you leaving?” (Haruka)
“Yeah, I will be coming back another time.” (Kougetsu)
“Tread carefully, okay? I am, in outline, an unknown factor after all.” (Haruka)
Haruka laughs sweetly.
Kougetsu doesn’t respond to it and only his steps were heard as he left the place.
(I’m impressed at how thoroughly that strong spirited woman was broken. A hero that shows no hesitation in using a power that maddens people to this extent. Was it okay to utilize it? No, don’t waver. Everything is for the sake of the Osakabe, for the sake of my own justice. At any rate, there’s no room to return.) (Kougetsu)
Remembering the original nature of Haruka who he knew well in the past and has now been changed by the power of Tomoki, Kougetsu felt his conviction waiver.
But he immediately throws away the doubts that were being born while thinking about his next move against the Kuzunoha Company.
He went his way back in a dark morning.

  1. “And in turn, the things that Kuzunoha Company can do are also limited.”
That’s…wow. I don’t think I have ever seen a more incorrect statement. Also, trashmoki’s charm ability is the most disgusting thing I’ve encountered in a while. Seriously… 😕

      1. It’s not completely unknown for heroes either, though. Dating sim heroes get married women and even enemies over to their side with suspicious seduction techniques all the time.

    1. I would have to agree with you my friend, that charm ability of Trashmoki is disgusting. I wish a bad fate on him… like getting genderbended and becoming a seedbed for goblins.

      1. It will be like any major threat in the OPM story, like the mosquito girl in the anime. Just a lot of ramping up our anger at him, with other people trying to fight him, and then Makoto will just swat him away.

    2. thats why its the character that i have been wanting see dead a long time ago though probably author will make him broken like certain spear hero we know instead of killing him. cuz not even myself can bring to think in a death for tomoki that can really atone for what he has done already

      1. Trashmoki needs to be broken worse than spear hero. He needs to learn what he did was an asshole move and the goddess needs to learn how to choose heroes properly instead of a stupid guy who uses his charm ability and fucks up her world worse than the demon race do.

        1. I wonder what sort of experience it would take for Tomoki to feel remorse? Maybe something like him being definitively being backstabbed by Lily and somehow experiencing things from his victim’s side of things? Hmm…
You know what would be funny, actually? If the Bug ends up calling on Makoto again to clean up the mess Tomoki made. I can’t remember how their deal went exactly, but maybe there’s a technicality about it not being related to the war with demons. Either that or she just outright breaks the rules.

          1. The goddess initially brought the heroes to the her world so that the hero regains “balance”(Hyuumans ruling over everything) that demons and spirit offset

          2. But, all the things that the heroes did is just going to self distruct and bringing the hyuman race with them(not that I am against it).

      1. That’s what brainwashing does. Disturbingly, it’s actually recreatable in real life without ‘superpowers’. Memory manipulation, dependency, values alteration and embedding.. It’s a rather disturbing topic from the times of the Cold War.
A side effect of how this works can be seen in US politics and their partisanship, i.e the party is always (generally) right, even when they are doing stupid things. Both parties. It’s part of their indoctrination.

    3. that’s rather close to tomoki’s power, but still a layer worse, I recently read one where the MC has the power to enslave women by raping them.

  2. Thanks for the chapter, Reigo-senpai.
Dang, only seven chapters left before caught up with the raws. Still… I wanna slap Tomoki. Seriously, that piece of trash deserves to be slaughtered!!! I hate him even more than I hate that stupid goddess who brought him there!!!
    Also…

Spoiler-san may have a smaller gun, but Spoiler-san shot first!

    1. Bug Goddess – actual Final Boss
      Demon Lord – side character
Trashmoki – scrublord of a low lvl boss who thinks he’s the final boss

      1. well its pretty obvious trashmoki there specially since the beggining he did said he will also charm the goddess for himself. though i still doubt bug goddess as final boss. in certain way i think there its more chance that earth gods really go against makoto once he stray his way for completely broke goddess world and herself

      2. Dicky, you seems to like to torment him but I don’t hate it.
i’ll be prefer fatality by kung lao’s hat, cut from crotch to head…. kukukuku [mortal combat reference]

      3. We will get to the end of the story, when Makoto finally rises up against the goddess, only to find Tomoki has gathered enough faith power from his minions, to ascend and rape the goddess as a god himself.

      4. well…. maybe because i just read nidome no yuusha and kuro no maou that my tendency to Torture some bastard rise to some level, beside a person like Trashmoki that done something like this after given a warning and still doing it really need to be given an absolute torture to show him what this kind of treatment feels like when he being the subject

      5. “Trashmoki – smash his pecker so it make him genderless MUAHAHHAHAHAHA” — nay. he would turn into an annoying SJW calling for sharia law and ‘feminism’.

    2. I think Tomoki is pretty much meant to be the one character that makes the Bug goddess look good.
…Actually, I wouldn’t mind if an invading evil god character or two appeared, now that I think about it. It would be an interesting contrast to see their “Malice-Driven Destruction” put against her “Stupidity-Driven Destruction”.

    1. I mean he never command it, but people who already in charm will do anything that they think the best situation for Tomoki

      1. well at least thats a given in this situation. since seems haruka doesnt even know makoto stance from tomoki. its easy to presume that tomoki was there only to charm girls and has to retire to empire on his defeat againt labirynt defenders. also somehow i hope that the reason that those guys in labirynt think that are superior than makoto its because they see him as same lvl as tomoki instead of really being on stame power lvl as makoto. seriously it was already said that makoto was on higher gods realm months ago and also makoto have been training regularly with his bow. i can understand before but after gods told him to train his bow and increase its power, he hasnt neglected it. so if they say that those guys are in same power lvl or stronger than makoto right now i think it be the most stupid thing and worst fail this novel could have cuz then any human can reach a god?

    2. It is probably Lily’s scheme planting seeds of trouble, that girl wants to screw the world after all.

      |LlL My Little Friend!

  4. You know this sort of explains why Makoto is slowly turning into a monster incapable of empathizing with other beings and resorts to instant killing them if he believes they are too far gone. It was said earlier he has the ability to replicate to a degree his follower’s abilities and now that he is attaining Tomoe’s powers slowly
and that isn’t exactly a good thing in the long run. Hell imagine if you had the ability to not just read one’s mind but their entire history and memories. That is some scary shit specially for a young boy to wield in his hands specially one such as Makoto whose ideology regarding anyone attacking him borders on smash first ask questions later.

    1. why am i imagining that Tomoe power that flown into Makoto is kinda like auto-danger detection so he can instantly check their memory and react against those that have ill will to him

    2. what do you mean “smash first, ask questions later”, when he saw their whole history, there are no questions left to be asked.
What makes him look like a monster is only that he comes across this garbage that needs to die and acts decisively in dealing with it. He´s not more of a monster than any wuxia hero.

      1. @Barabarossa Well with Makoto the smash first, ask questions later might not be the right term I was looking for but Makoto is young and inexperienced thus he tend to act first rather than think things through given his history. He does take counsel from his followers if he comes to crossroads or is stopped by said followers before acting at times but regardless Makoto does show good thinking if it isn’t in a combat situation. If it does come down to him or those around him attacked, he will on instinct neutralize the target which isn’t entirely a bad thing but he doesn’t try to use the situation if it can be used in some way. I am just saying that Makoto already has problems with empathizing with other people, hell he said so himself that he feels he has grown monstrous in his own way and him slowly replicating powers of his follower’s power and I would say the most dangerous of them all is either Tomoe’s(Mind reading abilities) or Tamaki’s(Whatever the hell she has). We could see that shell have develop more cracks than already needed probably. Makoto is a young boy that is somewhat stable but I highly doubt any human can tolerate mind reading someone’s entire history especially if it is a bad one with repeated use and stay sane for long. I am not saying Makoto is not justified to kill those girls, there are good arguments that have been made in regards to Trashmoki’s power but still Makoto understands 2 things from said situation. Trashmoki is going to have such a magical armor fisting of the lifetime and that there is probably droves of these brainwashed people that even if he were to remove the mind control they could be potentially left in a broken state due to the fact of the acts they committed if he doesn’t know how to deal with the aftermath of removing said mind control.

    3. I think what the author’s going with is the implication that it was somehow the girls wishing for death through Makoto. It’s still a bit of a handwave, and if Makoto thought about it he’d realize ‘they’ve gone too far’ doesn’t hold up when he can both recover and remove memories. Meh.
But yeah, I agree that Makoto absorbing memories unintentionally is some Kaiba level bad shit. Makoto doesn’t have a strong personality and that could mess him up if left unchecked. But hey, there’s hope. Maybe He’ll pick up some playa levels off Lime if they hang out.

  5. Thanks for the chapter.
Since he mentioned the Rembrandt sisters situation previously (which was barely in time) and the picnic rose garden group did state they tried to save one of there friends i do have some hope of this ending decent but knowing the story there is no guarantee.
I think she may still somehow get back as she said she prefers to walk a “peaceful” path even under his influence, and sure it is dangerous even if you get cleared but then again we learned of her strong will and not like it it is any better when you meet that so called hero the first time.
So let us pray for Tomokis death as we did see Makotos conviction against Sophia and he did state Tomoki is even more troublesome by this point.

  6. soo how many more chaps before we catch up to the aurthor? Also how often does the author update? is it weekly? monthly?

    1. If only the author’s health is good…
Oh well, as long he is alive, there are time for him to continue writing them.
Juz hope, he can finish the story within 10 years. Haiz

    1. this is a dumbass questions + bonus question.
was trashmoki’s libido no restricted just to young women??
      (if yes)
what IF trashmoki lay hand to Iroha’s mother more than charm, For instance like get milf scene so by chance Iroha will have little brother / sister??
[sorry if my english is bad]

      1. I think the general consensus is that Tomoki is willing to stick his dick in basically anything female.
It was a passing joke, but came out surprisingly plausible when Makoto suspected Tomoki would try to bang a slime girl during his Crimson visit in demon territory.

      2. He had a 12 year old party member he slept with. Don’t think he can go any lower, morally. Age wise, he probably can.
That guy needs to be castrated and not chemically.

  7. 1st half still Misumi-kun, but the latter just some trivia about tomoki that I’m not really care cause their plan will broken when facing Kuzunoha company
    thanks for chap

    1. If I had to make the choice of Makoto exclusively killing either Tomoki or Bug + any third act scumbag antagonists that might appear from here on out…

    2. But Mokoto killing him will bring problems with that bug but as long as he’s ready to fight with her currently, then it’s ok to do as he wish with Tomoki. Also, with Mokoto’s ability, he can kill Tomoki anytime he wish after all.

    1. from the looks of it…. i think the probability of curing her about…. 20% maybe since she got smeared quite a lot and long (maybe 1 to 2 months) just hope she can still be cured or else Iroha really will become an orphan

      1. I’d say the POSSIBILITY of curing her is 80% or more for three reasons –
1 – Haruka seems like a reasonably high functioning individual in this chapter, so brain damage is unlikely.
2 – Makoto’s justification for not saving the shadowless is based (at least in part) on an impression of their former selves from their memories. That means that the memories of those individual were recoverable in some form.
3 – Makoto’s followers have shown the capacity to erase ‘inconvenient’ memories from others.
So logically (Person + Former Memories) – (Charm Power + Post Charm Memory) = ( mostly untraumatized person )

    1. Let’s stay optimistic. Maybe Makoto can fix it.
…Or failing that, maybe Iroha can get one hell of an awesome coming-of-age beginning. Now that we’ve learned about the truth behind her heritage it seems like the Legend of Iroha Osakabe is an inevitable addition for the history books.
I have no idea how things will turn out, but I’d watch that movie, based on a play, based on a book, based on real life experiences. All the marks of a classic. 😀

      1. You forgot Starring = Trashmoki’s Libido
the reason she can “control” him is because she just points him at people to have sex with and he goes nuts, pun intended.

  8. Man you gotta admire that “youth” Makoto has there.
At this point, I’m wondering if we should start counting the number of times Makoto’s…unique perspective is in effect.
At least we get even more justification for his killing of the Shadowless assassins. Though can someone clarify what he exactly meant when he declared it “Too late”?
I feel like it could interpreted either as “They’re so far gone from their original characters that they can’t be cured” or “They’ve done so many things contrary to their original characters that if we return their control to them, they’ll only suffer from the knowledge of what they’ve done.”

    1. As for what is too late. Its both. And if trash moki raped then…..then it would have a far more severe effect once they remembered. Ever read an NTR novel with brainwashing?
Once I read a novel with that the Mc(rapist) lifted the mind control/brainwashing they would be ‘Broken’.

      1. It’s a tough call, really. Do you leave them in a relatively happy slavery, or free them to a horrific truth?
Morally, there’s a sort of an argument for either side, and Tomoki being garbage is true regardless.

        1. I think you’re fixating on the rape aspect a lot more than I am in this question.
Those girls, and many others, are definitely victims-incredibly tragic ones at that. But point I was trying to make is that they were forced to commit more atrocities on top of just being raped.
Makoto mentioned that they’ve already killed people for Tomoki and who knows what else. Even if he cures their charm, they’re going to torture themselves with the knowledge of what they’ve done(hence the bad characters being more savable than good characters), and possibly suicide anyway.
Whether it’s a justified answer or not is a whole other question(actually, it’s the one I’m asking), but Makoto concluded that they were better off dead than cured of Charm and forced to live with what they’ve done.
We’re not euthanizing rape victims for being rape victims, but brainwashing victims for having crossed too many of their own lines.

      2. red, there have been examples of people forced to do disgusting things beyond their mentality. Most of those end up very, very broken, like in a strait jacket and padded room violently suicidal kind of broken.
It’s never a good thing, not to mention mental health therapy is probably not a high point in their society. Chances are very high they’ll end up as one of those madmen in the streets if they don’t find a convenient cliff to jump off first. And yes, that happens (though it’s usually a convenient roof or building). Or they’ll just slit their wrist (which ironically does not work like it does in the movies, making a mess and giving us more work but little else).

          1. And not only the person charmed guets affected their surrondings as well, like in the case of Haruka, how mutch do you think poor Iroah will guet affected by her actions, and the mess the woman is making for the so charm.

          2. There is a bigger issue right now.
What would happen if Iroha’s mother is already too late and would have to be killed to be freed?
That would be devastating for a young girl.

          3. Well for what Kogetsu has stated she is alredy in the too late phase, I mean she openly admited to cheating her husband, that is in love with the heroe, and has been steadely killing her husband completely aware of such an actions. If she isn’t in the too late phase then she wasn’t that good of a person before.

    2. In my opinion, let me use the following example as a reference. If someone was brainwashed, like Bucky in Captain America, and the brainwashing is undone, and they still remember what they did, that knowledge can break a person. Bucky was lucky, but many aren’t. That breaking is the last thing any human mind needs, as that is the most dangerous thing. In some cases the brain will auto-coma you, like putting yourself in a massive coma until you can start figuring out what it is you want to do. This is what is meant by health is in the mind (or at least my perspective of it.)

      1. That’s true and an awful thing to happen, but, looking at it from another perspective, this “turmoil coma” is a good thing.
At least the victims are reconciling who they are with the truth and they have some semblance of an opportunity to move forward. If we left them alone, Tomoki’s poisonous effect would only get worse and worse.

    3. Makoto mentioned that it was too late because those girls had convictions and ideals. Basically, even if he removed the charm effect, they would still be mindlessly loyal to Trashmoki. It has to do with their core personalities.
He even remarked that, if their personalities were worse, then there would be hope to save them.
As a bit of evidence, look at what happened when Trashmoki’s power was stopped by the demon race. His loyal harem were still loyal and were only confused by his sudden cowardice. When he gave the order to retreat, they were a little doubtful, but they still trusted him fully. The reason for that is that their personalities were “good” to begin with.
But, if you take the same situation and replace the girls with ones who are more like Lily, then things would have turned out differently. Right as soon as they had doubts about Trashmoki, they would have looked to abandon him right there.

    4. I think that he saw it as some kind of mercey bacause they have gone to far away from themselves to live with what they have done. I understand that and in some ways agree with him, but I will admit is not his call if they can or not live with what they have done, I love that the author put things in that light it gives depth to the story. Funny though then all that call about his youth and how he can go woth out sleeping for days, if he used his youth to let loose his sexual apetite on Tomoe and Mio, do you thik that the both of them can hadle that???

      1. If magic power can be turned into endurance, then nope.
If even that can’t happen, I feel that Mokoto has enough endurance on his own to go at least a full day straight with the both of them…..well, after he learns the craft.

        1. HAHAHAHAHAH well there is always body reinforcing Magic that got to influence endurance!!!!!!!!!!! But even without Makoto Body is out of league he will guet enough pracdtice to guet good at it. We are talking about a guy ta defie common sense to own a skill that wasn’t meant for him if he really wants to defeat them completely in bed I am sure he will!!!!!!!!!

        2. I think we should note that both Mio and Tomoe have to “learn the craft” as well.
As old as they are, they also have zero experience with this kind of thing. Well, Tomoe might’ve stolen some experience by reading memories, but the point stands.
…….Pfft. So something just occurred to me. Mio was a mad spider, Tomoe was a lazy napping dragon, and Tamaki was a tool that attended to gods (presumably) all her existence.
Does this mean that Shiki is the only one of Makoto’s family to have any sexual experience?

      2. Well, Tomoe and Mio are both monsters as well.
However, their master is an even bigger monster. Which is why there’s two of them to keep him company. 😀

    5. Trashmoki’s skill gradually takes over them, not only when they are under the effects but if they have been under the effects for too long their mindset turns completely into “Tomoki is the best and I need to do anything for him because anhing he does is good” (almost vomited wiriting that… reminds me of religious fanatics in the past) so beyond charm the skill works as brainwashing, making it so they keep at it even if they are freed from the charm… so I guess that is what he meant when he said it was too late, they were “dolls” by his own words, I’d say they were zealots if I was to say it though…

  9. I seriously want that trash to die. I can even imagine how painful it would be for the victims. And imagine it happening in real life. 😵Damn…

    1. So the order of thing maybe;
      Tomoki—> gets killed
Hibiki—> gets super docile after being broken
Goddess (bug)—> starts to move after the above fact but she’s heavily restricted in her actions.
At least that’s the order of things that I’m thinking of.

  10. Thanks for the Chapter, Reigokai-sama!
Well, it’s official. Trashmoki has definitely level-up to be an irredeemable piece of sh*t that doesn’t deserve to be called human. Looks like that power has leveled up to the point that even a strong willed woman has her personality do a complete 180 degree turn, and even trying to have her citizens be under his control.
Makoto needs to do the same purification ability he did on that bar but on a city/country/global scale. I figure he has the mp for it, and while making it global might be a bit of a stretch, since even if it affects everyone in the Empire as well, it might not be effective in the long run, but at least you’ll be able to hit everyone on the planet that just has the minimum amount of contact with that trash. Then learn some powerful spells effective against Gods as insurance against the BUG.
Second stage would be to have every able bodied fighter and ally completely immunized to the effects of the charm ability. Meaning not even airborne, skin contact, fluid intake and direct/indirect line of sight to the piece of sh*t hero will have any effect on them. After creating a pair of Power Gloves, something like that would be completely trivial.
Third stage, inform the other hero of what is going on in Lorel Union. Since that hero has a LU priestess on her party, she’ll be compelled to help Makoto take him down. Her job would be that of a decoy, have all the attention focused on her, while Makoto readies a Sure-Hit, Root-grade special attack arrow from the other side of the planet. Just like the time with the purple cloud, have some of the wingkin do reconnaissance while pinpointing Trashmoki’s exact location.
    Fourth stage, ???
    Fifth stage, PROFIT!!!

    1. He’ll also need a way to remove or block the memories of what the charmed people has done while charmed , or they go insane once memories returns like with Akashi.

  11. Thanks for the work.
Really getting disheartened by the Trashmoki charm plot. Since it seems that happy ending is a novo at this point. I wonder just how much sairitz knew sending him there. Since she stated that she hoped he’d deal with things, or if she only vaguely was aware of danger.

    1. Ever since the first hint of Tomoki appeared in this arc, I had the suspicion that Sairitz’ involvement with Tsige’s independence was just an excuse for her to find shelter with Kuzunoha. Possibly even to find an opportunity to somehow get them involved.
She very likely knows about Tomoki’s Charm, and also knows that Makoto seems to be unaffected by it, because they stayed in the Empire and had a chance to meet Tomoki but nothing changed in Kuzunoha’s behavior.
So, after discovering that the Empire is trying to stir trouble in Lorel, and that some people are starting to act contrary to their usual self, Sairitz probably didn’t even bother packing her bags and just high-tailed it to the only place she knew she could be safe from Tomoki’s Charm. Tsige, the location of Kuzunoha’s HQ.
Once there, she quickly discovered Tsige’s plans and that Kuzunoha is supporting them, and didn’t even think twice about jumping aboard. After all, if someone tried to go after her, an important member of Tsige’s independence movement, Kuzunoha would likely get involved.
But as it were, they would only act if someone went after Sairitz, which would protect her, but not Lorel. So she found a convenient excuse to have Kuzunoha go to Lorel and hoped someone would be stupid enough to go after them. She even gave them the seal, in part probably to draw as much attention towards Kuzunoha’s party as possible.
I call that, operation “Moths to a Flame”.

      1. That’s some really convincing analysis you got there. When considering everything that we know so far, that theory only seems to more and more look like the behind the scenes micro plot…👍🏽👊🏽

      2. Or more accurately, “Flames for the Moths”.
But yeah, a very good point. I completely buy your argument throughout, except that Saritz seemed to be endorsing the revolution before Kuzunoha even got involved.

        1. Hmm, you may be right.
Then how about this, she likely knew about the good relationship between Makoto and Rembrandt, and unlike the Academy city, Kuzunoha Company was already well liked in Tsige, and seemed to be more a part of it.
So if Kuzunoha was willing to save the Academy city (after waiting suitably long to gain max Rep) where they got a lot of grief from the power players, it wouldn’t be a stretch to imagine they would be more proactive in protecting Tsige where the top guy was on their good side.

          1. If I were to take a guess, I would say that Saritz’s decision to use Makoto to clean out Lorel’s trash was more of a last-minute decision.
She initially intended to support the revolution both for the benefits it would bring Lorel and because she knew Kuzunoha was on its side, but it was only afterwards that she noticed something wrong happening at home and worked out a way to deal with it using the very convenient hand she just got.

  12. Aww. It warms my heart to see Makoto act genuinely kind towards the Asorans.
Honestly, he’s more singlemindedly beloved than any of the other heroes, and that’s probably another sort of “restraint” that’s protected him from Bad End timelines.
I also love that Beren’s concern with using the big guns are to damage the labyrinth. Just what kind of monster is Beren ver. 1.1? I’m looking forward to it.
He better have “The Axe That Cleaves Through the Depths of Hell” or something.

    1. now im imagining Beren using Terran marine suite like Tychus Finley while holding his weapon and marching to the Labirynth while saying “Hell….Its about time !”

    2. I don’t think it’s a good idea to fuck up the dungeon before meeting the dungeon master and the residents of it

      1. Oh, no-yeah. That’s definitely something to be concerned about when you’re meant to go as a negotiator.
All I’m saying is that it’s amusing to think Beren is the one that’s dealing with this question instead of Makoto.

  13. Thanks for the chapter. Tell you truth, I’m fed up with all the heroes ESPECIALLY trashmoki. I really hope this Pione chick isn’t dumb to the point she’ll Avenge her “friend’s” death after finding out she was brainwashed scum from the jump. Man seriously, I getting tired of the stupid people who don’t know how to keep to themselves and leave Makoto alone.

  14. Honestly…
    Just end Tomoki already.
At this point he’s probably slowly infecting all the kingdoms.
and in fact I’m willing to half bet. that social unrest on the other kingdom (that they’re seperating from) was probably caused by him taking over as well

    1. But, but, doesn’t he give us interesting sub plots to look forward to? I mean like the time Mokoto went to the empire and even now?🤔

  15. I have to admit. Seeing Iroha’s mother like this made me genuinely uncomfortable for a lot of reasons. From what I’ve seen in the comments, I’m not the only one either.
Well, this feeling is obviously what the author is trying to do, so I guess we have to give him props for accomplishing what he set out to do. Yay?
Tomoki is definitely this story’s designated hate sink. Who here thinks he’d try to become a god and enslave Bug herself if he saw what he thought was an opportunity to do so?

    1. the feeling when you know what kind of shit happen in NTR-genre after you know what kind of thing NTR is…..
argh it make me remember the damn first NTR H anime that give my heart a freakin scar , otome-dori

      1. My first NTR that leaved me with that bad afterstate on my mouth barely remember the name but it was about a stupid guy that wanted to switch, couldn’t handle it but the wife threw herself at it like a kid throw himself at cadies. It really pissed me off.

    2. Only a fool would try to use an ability granted to him to rule the one that granted it to him… obviously bug is invulnerable to the charm for much that I hate her

  16. the more i read the more i think pione is using the origin adv. to kill makoto even though her charm had been removed considering that her friends are all “too late” to be saved she might be also “too late” like them and just conciuoslysaying that its for revenge but unconciously doing it for tomoki
plsss pass the immortality of the origin adv. to tomoki and torture him forever…

    1. Pione wasn’t charmed, considering the fact that the labyrinth designer was about to cure her friend he should be able to tell if one was charmed unless him and apple are all just hype.

  17. This chapter make remember to someone that I hate more than tomoki and the goddess. Why author making story about a woman that like to cheating? Poor head clan. Raising other man child and I wonder if he know it. And good job tomoki-kun. Make them suffer, make hyuman insects suffer alot along with shitty demon race. I’m sure the demon is first one that offered goddess anyway. And tomoki don’t forget to die after you done. Makoto? Meh, when he gonna throwing that naivety? After he loss something precious like the dreams? Lol, I will glad to see it. He son of the bitch in any case.

    1. I think the current problem with makoto is that if he throw away his “naivety”, he will become like in the dreams

  18. So… not only hunting for teenager girl… that thing even hunting MILF as well…. even her daughter too…. ‘that ‘thing’ read too much harem story and hentai…. to try NTR route…. but no matter that thing do… he can’t escape from “get reckt” route in the end….
    ….poor iroha-chan…
Now i need to watch vanilla hentai to clean my eyes from ‘that thing’ ambitions

  19. Haruka NTRed!!! So sadddd, only Raido intervention might solve this feeling; but again, it might end up with everybody dead….since it’s Raido after all….

  20. There’s only so few nice hyuman in that world and the author just have to make all of them into a crazy slut nympho for something that even lower than trash.

      1. I think what he means is that Trashmoki likes to enslave women with “good” personalities. This has to do with Makoto’s explanation on why the 3 Shadowless were “too late”.
Also, with this scene about Iroha’s mother, it shows how even the “good” and strong willed women would eventually be broken down into mindless “charm slaves”.
So, yeah, I agree with Tentative Senki. There are some many trash hyumans in that world, so why can’t Trashmoki let some of the “good” ones go…

  21. So mommy think the some people who is having pinic and some elderly people with a neet who think he is the dungeon master can stop makoto?

  22. Dont kill him, just gouge his eyes(because his eyes had charm power), leak all of his scheme to the world and give him a whole life sentence prison
Sorry English is not my primary

  23. [Must be thanks to my youth.]
    yeah sure, keep denying it.
really this arc is starting to get boring, hope they jump quickly in the annihilation, suppression or whatever of apple and the end of the old osakabe.

  24. Waiting for translation sucks. Story is cool and all but I’m really just itching for Makoto to GO SMASH

  25. Thank you for the chapter!
I must say, I usually hate the whole “silent brainwash” storylines. For some reason, they’ve always turned me off. In fact, that’s why I gave up on Dance in the Vampire Bund. These plots usually end up having some sort of betrayal that comes out of nowhere (even though the MC took precautions against it).
With that being said, I am looking forward to how Makoto solves this. Also, this plot arc seems to be in place to give Makoto more and more reasons to permanently disable or kill Trashmoki.

    1. Here is a quick quote to support my theory that this is all just a build up for Makoto to come up with a permanent solution to the Trashmoki problem.
“Don’t wish for Tomoe… no, for anything and anyone of Kuzunoha, ever again. Next time, whether it is intentional or an accident, I will not forgive it. I don’t care about you using your charm power in whichever way you want, but that’s only if it doesn’t involve us. Don’t forget that.” (Makoto)
That was the warning that Makoto gave to him after beating the crap out of him. I’d say that the assassination attempt would qualify as using his power against Kuzunoha. He had also stipulated that it didn’t even matter if it was intentional or not.
As a side note, Trashmoki probably doesn’t even know about the assassination attempt. This chapter has pointed out how the “charm slaves” will do things on their own if they think that it is something that benefits Trashmoki or is something that he wants.

  26. Nonono, NTR is bad. So as punishment find out the amount of girls he’s charmed and 2X it. Now make his charm only affect male monsters such as orcs, goblins, kobalds, and Insect type beasts that lay eggs inside warm places. Then have Trashmokis ass be a seed bed, have him remember each time he charmed and raped the girls while he’s giving birth to the insects from the eggs from his ass, as he’s immortal have the orcs and Minotaurs go at night while the smaller monsters go in the day. Now Lily she hates the goddess, so torture her and have a machine or something that rips her limbs off and heals her. And in the time she’s getting healed have her relive the memories that mad her hate the goddess, so she’ll prefer the pain. Because she doesn’t want to remember. Finally have Trashmoki rape Lily while her insides are acidic and poisoned so they day slowly.
Some may say this is too much but I bloody hate NTR and his power is literally made for NTR, at least Hibiki isn’t brainwashing people she’s just naive thinking that in the future hyumans will change.

  27. How I want to hurt that Trashmoki! If it were me as Makoto, I’d give him 3 hrs to sunset to give me all his got but come nightfall, torture after torture, death after death, will be his punishment. Then, just before dawn and his immortality runs out, I’ll crush him then shoot him into the eternal night of outer space. Enjoy eternity, you asshole!

  28. thanks for the chapt!!
if its like these, i wonder if the mother would die?
Limited huh? for it is, bit for kuzunoha thats unlimited. hmm, i wonder if makoto’s meaning of curing the cursed world means this kinds of things? might as well mop trashmoki and let him be buried in a pile of poops

  29. When is this arc ending damn, I hate Tomoki and anything involved with him, I was baited into Lorel arc thinking he wouldn’t show up.
I hope trash is taken out, permanently.

  30. Thanks for the chapter.
Ugh… every time I hear about Tomoki the only thing I can think of is that he should drop dead. Seriously, he is probably one of the most disgusting, pitiful, and the most weak willed character I’ve read in a while. Without any of his powers he would only be a snivelling coward, with them he’s the lowest of scum.

    1. That is true. He was bullied and if you read the side stories, that game playing one, Tomoki was a player killer there. He sure got torture back then as a lessen.

  31. Thank you Reigokai !
    As always, will always.
Sorry I’m late to the party, I was busy with Janitor-san for a bit. Any one got the link to chapter 50 or above?
I see that a lot of people here comments wildly due to the hate towards Tomoki. Guys… relax. Chill out. NTR or not, it is too late to stop Tomoki’s influence.
To counter the bad aftertaste of reading thia chapter, let me give you some advice. (I found this in the Internet years ago. Works like a charm, makes one think the Internet is reaaally great.)
    ********************************************
    *quote*
    How to enjoy NTR
    1.
Yes, do you see it? Avoid seeing the guy who get the girl stolen as MC, and don´t imagine being him.
    2. Be in the mindset; “that dude deserve having his girl taken away, she is to good for him” or “This dude is gonna suffer………HAHAHHAHAHAH”.
    3. Imagine the guy doing the stealing to be the MC, or imagine being him. Just going along for the ride and getting enjoyment is also enough.
Thanks for reading, and today, more detestable human roams the earth……………

    1. Hello Sir we got a notice that a trash in the form of a truck was roaming this site, we would like some word here in a dark ally with a some nailed bats for recreation purpose……nothing serious really….

    2. i dont want imagine myself as trashmoki… even it kills me
as you said this is good tips for NTR. but in this novel, the goddamn NTR is the most-hated character of the century, Trashmoki. he never done anything good even once. only chaos and turmoil.
so this once the NTR NEVER be good.

    3. Truck-kun…. you serious? The best method is:
1 – to wait till the series end
2 – Do a mad dash and finish the series
3 – Find a nice happy series (as long as it doesn’t have cheating vividly describe in it’s raw format) to devote yourself to and ease your mind of its pain
or if you must read that NTR series as it updates, you’ll need nerves of steel and another series or show or something to immediately take your mind off the horror that you have just witness.
As even if Avoid seeing the guy who get the girl stolen as MC, and don´t imagine being him, it still leaves and unpleasant taste in your mouth even if the one doing the NTRing IS the MC (of course if it isn’t the MC that force it or really wanted to do it, o’s the girl that would receive all the hate).

    4. I take a slightly different approach.
Part 1: Remember that nobody “belongs” to anybody. An NTR event isn’t someone being “stolen” because it is any one of the relationship’s participant’s prerogative to end a relationship, regardless of why they do so.
Part 2: “Love and affection” isn’t anything special. In fact, it can just as well be assumed to not exist. Whatever the NTR victim’s relationship was with their partner, it was all just a shallow premise to begin with and nothing was ever “lost” so much as a truth was revealed.
Part 3: Acknowledge that humanity has always been. firstly, utterly filled with manipulative abusive bastards, so whatever happens isn’t anything special and, secondly, fundamentally just a bunch of animals that are compelled to indulge in the vices of physical pleasures with little to no regard for anything else.
If you do it correctly, you’ll be so utterly devoid of faith in the goodness of any human beings that you don’t emotionally care about anyone in the NTR setting at all. Congratulations! 😀

  32. Well, as much as I hate trashmoki, I think his power is great and extremly useful.
If I would end up in a fantasy world like him, this power would be one if not the prefered power I’d like to have. With this power you are almost immune to betrayal or bad intentions (remember there are many other summonig novel out there where the heroes ar seen as dispensable tools…).
As for trashmoki’s charater, though it is bad, it’s also a product of his environment. He was already constantly praised on earth and now is being especially pampered by the princess of the empire. She is making sure that he becomes and stays stupid / trash.
On another topic, charm power is a subject that is rarely touched upon and looked into in LN’s. I only know one other story (a dark one at that) that features a “hero” with “charm” power and gapples with this toppic in more detail. (Katahane no Riku)

  33. I hope there will be a part where Trashmoki gets threatened by Makoto.
Seriously, can’t he just kill him?

    1. Its quite risky since it might trigger a fight with the goddess, but I think he should take the risk and just kill Tomoki. After all, if the goddess has a brain she should realize that Tomoki and Lily are more of a danger to hyumanity than the demons, and the charmed people are actually revering him. I think the goddess didn’t know about Lily, a hyuman that hates her and wants to screw her world. Giving Tomoki his charm powers might just be a whim and she didn’t really expect much from him and she didn’t expect that he will be controlled by a mad girl.

  34. thanks for the chapter,I think it is now safe to say that we won’t reach the conclusion of the current arc with the amount of chapters left. It is a very sad truth…

  35. Thanks for the chapter! I just had a rather sobering thought, what if while Makoto is putzing around in Lorel, the empire already shipped some of that smoke stuff to Tsige or other places Makotot is fond of.

    1. Well I want to believe that Lily is to mutch on guard against the company to make that kind of move at the moment.

  36. Thanks for the chapter!
I really hate this kind of brainwashing stories it almost make me want to not read it, I think in this fantasy stories had to be just like in the new gate everybody that is discovered having charm ability is sentenced to death. It’s an ability that nobody should have, it corrupts people including the user.

  37. thanks for the chapter
“Thanks for asking, Waka-sama! Those two were cruel. They tied the opposing me in a tortoise shell style and kidnapped me into the dungeon.” (Shii)
    Makoto’s bringing culture that really matter ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
and hokuto became the spiritual child of a certain bondage spider…

  38. i told you some trash (Haruka).more reasons to hate tomoki (he wanted to kill the current head of Osakabe and next someone who many people i think didn’t really remember) and more confusing names up (haruka and the 3 people that will acompany Makoto)

  39. THANK YOU SO MUTCH FOR THE CHAPTER REGOKAI-SAMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well this is one of those chapters where I hate how mutch I liked it, ok I will say it first I refrain my claim that Makoto can’t eliminate the charm, for what he said in this chapter it seems that he is capable of it, but he can’t erase their memories of the time, non the damage that the victims suffer. It is better to kill them that cure them and try to look for a way for them to recuperate??? I sincerely don’t know I guess the discussion of this chapter will be a hot theme. Really Tomoki you are managing to really increase my level of disgust with you really seeing how bad his power can affect the world well I really don’t want to see any redemption for him or Lily for the moment. And seriously whats wrong with fidelity in this series?? This line: “The first one is that he is not the ‘true father’ of Iroha” implies a lot of things. thanks god I guet no chance at dating nobility!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  40. you really just end up hating tomoki more and more with each chapter.
the deal with bug is to not kill any of the heroes right? so can’t makoto just go there and rip out tomokis eyes and cut out his tongue. that way he wouldn’t break the deal with bug and get rid of that cunt.

  41. Thanks for the translation!
Man, to think I disliked the dragonslayer more at one point. That charm power and the hero with it is garbage. Well, both the heroes kinda are.
I wonder if the author got some flak from the MC offing the assassins so readily. That one part expanding on the three was like, “oh, no really, they were bad people so its totally fine. MC wasn’t just saying they were gone, he knew. ‘cuz…..Tomoe’s power, yeah.”

    1. That wasn’t the first time Makoto used some of Tomoe’s power, it has just been a very long time since it first occurred, and was mentioned. Mostly because it’s not something he can control himself; yet.
Also, he didn’t say they were bad people. On the contrary, he said the reason he couldn’t save them, was because they originally were good people and would be too messed up, by what they went through, to save them. Makoto said it would be easier if they originally weren’t good people, because then they might have a chance to get over it (or probably because he wouldn’t be too bothered by it if they didn’t).

      1. this kinda makes you wonder, would it be fixed if tomoki died or is it so engraved that if he died all those women would just turn into vengeful assassins all rushing from across the world to kill Makoto?

      2. I think it depends on how long they’re charmed. I mean, if they’re charmed for three years, they’ll retain memories of them loving tomoki to the point of worshipping him, sleeping with him/other men tomoki wants them to sleep with, spreading the perfume so more women become like them etc etc etc. It may even become a point where they would convince themselves they really love him to the point of worshipping him to cope with the mindbreak and may even continue acting like they’re charmed, except they’re not charmed anymore. People who aren’t charmed too long may feel depressed/suicidal or have PTSD or something for doing all that stuff.
People who are charmed as long as Akashi or Sophia a long time ago, would just feel disgusted for a bit and maybe somewhat depressed depending on what they did.
The biggest factor is the memory coming back eventually. If Makoto finds a way to change that memory in one way or another without the people going crazy from the big memory gap, he could fix it. Obviously he would have to be able to do that before the charm dispels, so no killing tomoki unless there’s a solution first?

        1. Well is not only time, take Haruka for example, the things she is doing now in the name of her Master, once the charm is lifted from her, she will still remember everything that she has done, and not only that I believe that those feelings will make part of the memorei, how will she live with what she has done, what kind of attonment will she have to do to gain some internal peace.???

      3. Yes, the things she has done. And what do you at east need in order to do all that? Time. If Makoto got there much earlier(I don’t know when Haruka got charmed) and dispelled the charm, then she wouldn’t have the time to do them all. Like Akashi, she never got the time to charm Yuzuki and Iroha for before it was dispelled. Dispel it after she did it may have made her depressed and filled with guilt.

  42. At what point does it become acceptable to just teleport to the Empire, KO Tomoki, and save the world?

  43. Thanks for the chapter, can someone remind me can’t Makoto just imagine an arrow hitting Trashmoki and shoot him from there? or was that not how his cheat works?

  44. Well Kougetsu why are you against the Raidou gang? why are you that hell bent against the Iroha household that you’re working together with trashmoki and the charmed bitch mother of Iroha?

  45. We still haven’t had any excitement in this piece.Something like Makoto smash would be appropriate. Tomoki can’t do anything to him and he did say if Tomoki did anything against the company directly or indirectly, game over. The Shadowless girls would definitely qualify as indirectly.Trying to enslave another country is just too much and I believe he told him to more or less, behave after slapping him senseless. Hopefully, he can cure those people affected by the smoke; otherwise there will be a lot of dead people in Lorel.

  46. Right now, I’m imagining Makoto suddenly deciding to level up his creation skills and just create the girl from scratch(along with part of the memory) if the whole thing becomes too troublesome for some reason. And then being like “Well, here you go, will you go help Tsige now?”
    One step closer to godhood.
Though that would be kind of anticlimatic in some way,so that probably won’t happen.

  47. Many Thanks!
Seriously, my spite for that trash is reaching some levels I didn’t have since a certain Bitch, also named Whore, many years ago. I really wish all the broken girls would wake up and still be sane enough to bring upon his darned lower part some holy castigation. Naturally, that shouldn’t and mustn’t be everything. But I can’t really come up with anything, I should summon Kaito from Nidome no Yuusha I suppose.

    1. Really, the only appropriate death Tomoki could suffer at this point is if all his charm victims got free at once and began gathering around him stabbing him to death for an entire night.

        1. It’s something that my experience with a certain Bitch taught me.
Sometimes, you just have to take what’s pragmatically possible and thematically appropriate.
Sometimes, it’s just no longer practical to enact an appropriate and equal punishment.

          1. Oh, yeah. Although the pain wasn’t quite psychological, I remember having a great day the one in which I read that wondrous part (we’re talking of the same Bitch I suppose).
Thinking about it again, I would be probably fine as long as we get a deep, as most detailed as possible with lots of suffering, punishment. Everything is better than having his lower member freely cursing women. Oh, wait I meant eye.

  48. Two step plan for an anti Tomoki aoe spell. –
1 – Remove any memories a person has associated with Tomoki.
2 – Insert those memories into Tomoki, Kaiba style.
BUG can’t really complain. I mean, technically it would be Tomoki driving HIMSELF to gibbering lunacy.

    1. Oooh! Call it the “stop hitting yourself” spell. . . given a slightly less direct interpretation of the word ‘hitting’.
Of course there would be some fallout what with people being mysteriously missing time, missing people. . . sudden pregnant.
      Well, you can’t fix everything.

      1. A really great plan I can get behind, make Trashmoki suffer the suffering of its victims, the question now : how can we apply something similar to bug? Because bug is the only reason Trashmoki is even here, and then consider that bug gave it all the power it abused

  49. Thanks for the chapter. Tomoki and Makoto kind of reminded me of the character Arita from Accel World. The way that each of them grew up and that Arita could be sort of a character like Tomoki or Makoto if he was grew and raised differently. Arita is a short, fat, no confidence character, hardly any friends except 2, bullied, and had little contact with his parents. When started to play the Accel game he started to develop more confidence in himself, making friends and becoming an important figure in that world (ex, when he fought back and calm the Armor of Catastrophe in vol. 5). He started acting more of a leader lately example, of when he help his team played basketball against another team. Even though their team lost by 1 point he gave a good impression to the other classmates and he is still growing in character.
Makoto (reference during when he was in school) is short, had bit contact more interaction with his parents (maybe, I do not know much about how involve he was with his parents), and he was involve with archery, has friends, looks like he was hardly bullied, and had more confidence in himself. After being turn down by the Goddess he started his own journey by himself making friends soon after and he is becoming an important figure in that world.
Tomoki seems like an average good looking guy back in his world, had really no confidence, was bullied, probably did not have real friends or was not in any clubs, protected by female students because of his good looks, and might have had little contact with his parents (I am not to sure because do know much about him except for the intermission chapter). After he got power he started to abuse it making him believe he was the chosen one. But he is becoming more like the villain in Accel World Vol. 3 and 4.
Makoto and Tomoki are polar opposite of each other. If Tomoki was raised close to similar to Makoto he would more heroic. And if Makoto was living like Tomoki he become more villain in the story.

    1. There is another layer of characterization relationship between Makoto and Tomoki-that-was : they are both popular
Tomoki-that-was was popular on account of his good looks, while Makoto, though not conventionally attractive or normally popular, is sought after by the two most popular girls in school. That little difference complicated by their different upbringing can really bring up completely different kinds of people (Tomoki-that-was was at least a person I can sympathize with, Trashmoki not so much, seeing as how it can’t even be considered a person now, just a garbage drawing kn the reader’s disgust and hatred)

      1. That is a good comparison. I have feeling in the future when these two fight in will be a difficult battle for Makoto. Mainly since the princess is experimenting on him and probably will get more stronger and Tomoki will probably get more help from other strange divine beings besides the Bug. I do not want Makoto to be to much of OP character that he dominates his battles with overwhelming power. And maybe somewhere he meets people (maybe the heroes of the dungeon) who have some form of Haki or maybe that defense breaker technique in the Rising of the Shield Hero series. And Tomoki learns it from 1 of them like that so person who holds a grudge with Makoto and teaches Tomoki about it. Of course when they do fight I hope it will be a good one with these two.

        1. Well sincerely the las person I want to see guetting stronguer is Tomoki, I mean you don’t want Lex Luthor to guet Superman powers, he is already a menace with his high intellect. And at the moment the only beign that is not a God that can pose a challange for Makoto is Root, and he is problaly the number 1 stronguest in that world. Unless Tomoki figth him with the Goddes at his party (wich given their egos isn’t the most sound party) he stand no chance.

          1. I agree. I do not want Tomoki to get stronger either since he is a pathetic villain. But the author might do something to make him strong to surprise us. Of course it does not have Makoto that Tomoki has to fight it could also be that other hero from that kingdom that might fight him. Sort like how that Kouki in “Arifureta” in manage to make himself stronger by cheating in the last dungeon to Hajime. He lost but later he became the enemy and fought and lost to Shizuku in the final chapters. Tomoki may at the end fight Hibiki and lose to her after a great fight. I think a lot of people would love to seem him getting beat down by female.

          2. I also do not believe that the Goddess will fight with Tomoki. Mainly have this feeling that she has giving up on him. Since it looks like she is prioritizing her focus on Hibiki. Since the battle with the demons of those countries she was more concern saving Hibiki then Tomoki. I think that maybe she has giving up on Tomoki since it looks like all does is fool around. Tomoki was the mistaken summon hero but Hibiki was correct choice in the Goddess eyes. Since Hibiki is focusing on fighting the demons.

  50. Waiver! Doubt! Get the fuckin out ! You stupid power hungry schmuck!
Though it’s probably to late to get away from the flying trash monkeys.
Well, we’ve been expecting a bad end awaits this arrogant asshole since we first met him.
    Thanks for the chapter

  51. So sometime soon there may be a fight between the followers of the two deified h(y)uman transfers…
Makoto might have to interfere with the clean-up again.

    1. Big difference : one is deified on account of getting power comparable to a deity, the other one deified on account of being basically a cult leader with convenient brainwashing powers, that kind of conflict tend to have a short, bloody, and altogether foregone conclusion.
The complication is of course, bug, because things are not bad enough, bug always has a way to make it worse

  52. And after thinking Trashmoki is the lowest, most depraved villain in the literatures I’ve recently been reading, it topped itself again in its depravity.
Tomoki-that-was at least I will admit to being able of sympahizing with. Life being bullied isn’t easy, and the fact that the girls surrounding him treats him less a person and more as a “hottie” surely doesn’t help.
But Trashmoki? Leave it to bug to give an unstable, but at least still human individual the powers to push him off the deep end. Trashmoki-as-is is, in my opinion, not even human, just garbage to eventually be disposed of. The problem is how much suffering it spreads on its way to garbage disposal.
And for all my railing on how Trashmoki deserves the most horrible death possible, I can say I wasn’t being fair. Trashmoki deserves the second most horrible death possible, first place is reserved for bug, upon whom everything wrong with the world can TRULY be pinned. All the racism, all the suffering Trashmoki spreads with it, EVERYTHING bad about the world
I’d love to get to graphic details as to how bug should suffer, but I’ll preempt myself and self-censor instead

    1. I keep thinking back to when tomorrow encountered trashmoki’s group near the lake and just imagined if her response to him scouting and trying to charm her was cutting his legs off… That would’ve been good :).

    2. Okay can Tomoki be killed already?
This is beyond the lowest of the low, honestly I can see Makoto blowing his lid completely if something were to happen to one of the Asoria residents for some reason, hell something happening to Iroha at this point may trigger it

  53. Makoto… You could’ve walk to Gritonia and anihilate Trashmoki easily. Or deprive his cheat powers by destroying his sword, flying shoes, armors, shield… And sealed his charm powers. I was so happy when Makoto beat him back then… And now… By cutting his “manly” would be suffice… Dont forget to cut it before night comes… He can regenerate after night comes…

  54. So Tomoki is getting a big head because of his charm and is trying to set himself up as a god and take over the world, but is still limiting himself to a human mindset, that will end in his failure. Not to mention that he has to rely on his supernatural charm cheat to get people to like him and his over reliance of it has turned into a crutch. He has created a harem by depriving them off their free will who would probably self terminate if the charm was dispelled. So now he probably only sees people as tools or bargaining chips, not to mention that he himself is only a tool for the people his charm doesn’t work on but are “on his side”. And nobody, not under the influence of his charm respects or likes him as a person because of his reputation. So he’s on the “Doomed Evil God aspirant that was once a Hero” path”. Meanwhile Makoto is already the de facto God King of his own world and can switch between his personal human mindset and that of the Ruler of Asora. He admits that he’s getting farther away from human. He has a perfectly natural charm that makes some people like him and his reputation gets other important people interested in him of their own volition. Not to mention, whether they like him or not, people do respect him. He has, at least, one entire race after his genetics. He has a plethora of women to choose from because of his accomplishments in relation to them. He has Loyal followers whom he gained by being himself. He’s the strongest of the current summoned 3. He’s perfectly content with his business being successful enough to become a de facto Major power and doesn’t try to involve him self too much in the outside world (Which I forgot the name of) except to recruit races to his own. He has a cute de facto (at least first) wife/ secretary/ magic teacher/regent. He has students that love him as a teacher, and more people that want to become his students because of how effective he is at teaching. Makoto has plenty of people he can rely on that are trustworthy, not manipulating him, and have his best interest in mind. And he’ll probably become an Actual God sometime in the future.
As for Hibiki, well what can I say besides, She’s the very Definition of a Wise and Strong Hero. She also acknowledges prejudice in herself in others. She doesn’t Steep herself in her own strength and acknowledges that she is weaker than others. Her own charm is natural and compulsive due to her personality and actions. People want to follow her because she is the hero of their dreams. She’s like a good role model, I guess. So, it seems likely that she will be the one to save the world that she was summoned to, as the other two don’t really care about that world’s salvation. She’s probably going to be the Hero written about in legend.
Said Legend will probably go something like this:
[Lo! The Hero Hibiki, with the blessings of the God Makoto and the gift of his Makoto’s enemy the Goddess Bug, set forth to destroy the World’s Enemy, The Bastard Tomoki. The Bastard Tomoki gad ensnared part of the world in his Charm of false promises and false love and lust and set to ensure his grip on the world. Thus Makoto, the God of Fairness, Profit, and Resolve, appeared before the Hero Hibiki. The God Makoto said thus to her, “Oh beloved champion of my enemy, Bug!This world faces a crisis of Extinction! It is not the war you were called for but rather Tomoki, the one who Masqueraded as a Hero for his own lusts!”
And in shock the Hero Hibiki responded to the God Makoto, ” Is this true?! I had thought he was not but a fool! Must I cut him down, the one whom would be my comrade?”
“Aye!” The God Makoto replied solemnly “You must subjugate The Bastard Tomoki, else this world is doomed. Set forth for the Empire for that is where he will be in two weeks.”
” Mighty Makoto. Can I ask for your assistance in this matter?” The Hero Hibiki pleaded.
“Nay! I have already interfered in this world enough by warning you. However! Take this sword for it is my Blessing.” The God Makoto said as he gifted her the Sword that would become The Legendary Sword of the Hero Hibiki.
“I thank you, Mighty Makoto. I shall make preparations for my journey at once.
“Aye,” The God Makoto said fading away as he spoke. ” Good luck young Hero.” He then disappeared from Hibiki’s presence.]
