Chapter 270: A long time ago

Root had that usual friendly smile and was showing good will without hiding it.
However, for some mysterious reason, now that I have obtained a variety of information I didn’t know until now regarding him, I could feel some sort of fuzziness inside my chest.
Being involved with the Adventurers of Origin, learning of the Adventurer Guild, and about Sofia this morning; everything of these had some sort of ‘I can’t accept it’ kind of feeling.
I don’t know about the other members yet, but it seems like Rokuya-san accepts the past even now.
Sofia also…looked happy.
And yet, an unrelated party like me was feeling something that I didn’t like.
Rokuya-san and the others are Wise, in other words, Japanese people, so a part of me does feel like it not just someone else’s business.
Regarding Sofia, considering her relationship with Root, I am an outsider, but I am pretty related to that attachment she had and the end of her life as well.
“Anyways, come to my room. I have something to talk to you about.” (Makoto)
“…Hey, Raidou-kun…” (Root)
“What?” (Makoto)
For now, I don’t intend to follow your will, you know.
“Thinking about the experience of us both, I think bondage play is a bit too fast. Actually, I should be the one leading at first. To tell you the truth, I coincidentally have a blindfold…are you interested?” (Root)
Root who is restrained in midair for now, was cheerfully saying rotten things while blushing.
Right, he is this kind of guy.
Yeah, I am beginning to remember now.
“Not at all! And by the way, this isn’t something to say in the Adventurer Guild!” (Makoto)
“Eh?! This place is practically my house, so it is fine, it is fine.” (Root)
He is the Guild Master after all…
Whatever.
Let’s bring him to the company quickly.
Ah right, before that, let’s ask Toa-san about Aznoval-san while I am here, and if possible, ask her to investigate about it.
“Uhm, it seems like you are in the middle of something, so I will be excusing myself now, okay?” (Toa)
“Please wait. Actually, there’s one thing that I want to ask you.” (Makoto)
“Raidou-san, to me? Of course, go ahead and ask anything.” (Toa)
Toa made a surprised face as she accepted to answer my question.
Well, she currently has no need to hide anything from me after all; including the matter of her ancestors’ dagger.
It helps me out.
Right now there’s other people here that can listen, but…well, even if the name Aznoval is spread from my mouth, it feels like it would have a lot of merits.
No need to care.
I will ask Root later, and in the first place, he is acquainted with them, and not only that, he also knows about their immortality.
“It is about a knight going by the name Aznoval. Do you have some sort of connection with him, or maybe you know someone that is connected with him?” (Makoto)
“!!”
“?!”
Hm?
Both Toa and Root did quite the reaction.
It felt as if they had heard an unexpected name.
But this…it looks like not only Root, even Toa also knows about the name Aznoval.
Rembrandt-san also knew about it, and it might be possible it is only that.
No, this way of getting surprised is strange.
It is different from the time with Rembrandt-san.
“Raidou-kun, you…brought out quite the name again. Well, in Lorel, it is indeed a name that you would hear though.” (Root)
Root was making a hard to describe face as he brings out his voice as if squeezing it out.
He is the very person that made them immortal.
It probably revived some bitter memories and nostalgic memories as well.
“Aznoval… The standard-bearer of the Adventurers of Origin. Knight Aznoval?” (Toa)
“Looks like you know him.” (Makoto)
“My origins are from there. There’s no person in Lorel who hates the priestess or Apple. Same goes for me.” (Toa)
“…Ooh.”
It seems like Root took interest in the nostalgic words of Toa, he voiced it out.
“Before the Union came into existence, they were supporting the people without being double-faced about it. Legendary existences that left their mark in history. Is that what you know?” (Makoto)
“That as well. But for me, Aznoval is actually a bit special. Within the Adventurers of Origin, he is a heroic person that’s described as the representation of muscle and recklessness. And his stories are mostly within those types.” (Toa)
He is the standard bearer, right?
In a leader way.
I am also a top that can’t say much of others, but is that really okay?
Root is smiling in glee.
Does that mean that really is the description of this Aznoval person?
“But he was by no means a stupid man. In a long past, when Lorel had the objective of raising their national prestige by slaying a certain Superior Dragon that slept in the wasteland, the knight Aznoval suddenly appeared at the center of the country and warned them to stop that.” (Toa)
Toa-san speaks as if reminiscing a long past.
Well, it is actually a long past though.
However, for her, that challenge to this Superior Dragon and the stopping of it has warped her life heavily.
That certain Superior Dragon, Shen.
Called invincible, and indulging in sleep… well, it is Tomoe.
She didn’t even remember it until she was asked about it, but it seems the result was a big failure.
Quite the amount of elites had fallen at the wasteland.
Toa’s ancestors as well.
Their heirloom that was an important dagger was lost there, their family chased down to every place and had to move around repeatedly, and because of that, Toa became an adventurer and came to the wasteland to search for the dagger of her ancestors. And as she was about to die, her sister, Rinon, got acquainted with me, and after some twists and turns, Toa and her on the verge to death party members are currently the top team in Tsige.
Well, you really don’t know what life might bring you.
Right now, that dagger has safely returned to her hands, and she has decided to make Tsige her home, continuing to contribute to the town as an adventurer and further polishing her skills.
In its own way, this is a good ending.
“In the end, the grand labyrinth of Yaso-Katsui had erupted at that time, so  he had to head there to reduce the damage it would cause, and in that space of time, the foolish expedition was carried out, and…in the end, well, that’s how I am here now in a sense. Because there’s that part as well, within the Adventurers of Origin, Aznoval is the one I like the most.” (Toa)
I see, I see.
So there was that kind of connection huh.
But looking that far in the past and the far future that is now, I don’t think it would be a reason why Aznoval would come to Tsige.
Well, at least it is deeper than her simply knowing, but I feel like it is a bit weak.
Wait, she said something incredible in such a nonchalant manner.
What did she say about the labyrinth?
Erupted?
Isn’t that supposed to be what volcanoes do?
“Please wait there. That labyrinth can erupt?” (Makoto)
I tried asking about it.
There’s no way that’s the case.
In the lines of common sense, that is. But that place doesn’t apply common sense…
“I haven’t lived that long in Lorel, so I don’t have much knowledge about it. But it seems like it is a place where those kind of things happen as well. At that time, he ate two Board Fruits, which are his source of power, pushed through the lava, and opened a deep hole to calm it down.” (Toa)
I do remember hearing that Toa and Rinon were born in a place close to the Empire.
Since they were born, they haven’t gone to Lorel Union once.
So even if I ask her more about it, she wouldn’t know.
It would be dangerous if it erupts while we are inside.
Let’s try asking everyone regarding that when I return.
If there’s any signs of it, we would have to hurry.
Even so, doing things like stopping eruptions, just like Serwhale-san.
Looks like he is quite the person.
The last part about some sort of fruit was probably added in the story, so leaving aside the details, there’s no doubt he did some sort of big exploit to stop the damage.
For some reason, it reminded me of the classic hero that ate spinach from a can to get buffed up. <Popeye the Sailor!>
“I see…” (Makoto)
“…It feels as if Raidou-san gets involved in the mysteries of the world one after the other. I feel like you are having more of an adventure than adventurers.” (Toa)
“It is certainly true that that’s how it ends up as a result. It is not to my liking, but I can’t deny it.” (Makoto)
“…In those days, there was a Superior Dragon called Waterfall in Limia Kingdom that provided the lake’s blessings; in Gritonia Empire, there’s one named Grount that lived at the desert and provided trials, and anyone that passed those received a blessing; on the other hand, Lorel and Aion were one head lower than the other two within the major powers, but they were in a delicate line that was still enough to consider them major powers, and…because they were in such a delicate line, they were desperate to obtain the power of a Superior Dragon. Really…what a stupid story.” (Toa)
Toa knows about this pretty well.
Is it because it was passed down in the past of his family, or maybe she herself took interest in it and investigated?
Since we are talking about Toa, who personally came to the wasteland in order to recover the dagger, it might be possible.
Anyways, so the reason of that expedition in the past was because they were planning on beating up Shen and bringing her back to the country?
If that’s true, then it really is a foolish story.
If I was there at that time, I might have told them to stop it as well.
Even in Limia, it was only because the lake was within the boundaries of their country; in Gritonia as well, it is not like the White Desert was prepared by the Empire to call Grount there, it was simply Grount being there since the beginning.
Lorel also had Futsu since the beginning, and the labyrinth also should have had Doma as well.
And yet, why did they go through the trouble of going to the wasteland for Shen?
Wait, it seems like the labyrinth already existed by that time.
And yet, Lorel didn’t know that there was a Superior Dragon within their own country?
Is that even possible?
!
Or it could be that, at that time, Doma was not a Superior Dragon…
No wait, that’s questionable too.
“*Whistle~*” (Root)
Root blatantly evades my gaze of suspicion.
He is trying to avoid it.
No, I won’t let you escape.
You are also involved in this?
In the future, whenever it is related to Superior Dragons, I will just place this guy as the number one suspect.
“Is that so. It is not such a pleasant story for you, and yet, I made you speak of it. I am really sorry. Even so, if there’s any other thing you remember of him, can you please contact the company? I want to know about the knight Aznoval and the Adventurers of Origin as much as possible since it is connected to the matter I am involved in.” (Makoto)
“It is already all in the past anyways. I don’t mind. When I return to my house, I will investigate about it again!” (Toa)
Past huh.
I am probably the weird one here.
It is true that this is a past that has already concluded.
There’s nothing I can do this late in the game.
At the very least, Toa, who has already accomplished her own objective, is probably living her life now.
That’s not wrong. It even feels dazzling.
“Thank you very much.” (Makoto)
“Well then, with this, I will be excusing myself. Vegan-san as well, see you later.” (Toa)
“Yeah, thanks for guiding me. Also, sorry. That name is actually fake.” (Root)
“Eh?”
“It was for the sake of safety. There was not a shred of intent to deceive you. I am glad I met you, Toa. The staff of the Adventurer Guild in Tsige and the top adventurers in Tsige are splendid. If every place had this amount of liveliness and tension, I wouldn’t have any complains. As the Guild Master, Falz, I consider this my pride.” (Root)
“Fal—eeeeh?!” (Toa)
“Ahaha. If you want to, I can make the preparations to hire you under the direct staff of the Adventurer Guild. If you are in the mood to, tell the people in charge anytime you want, okay? Well then, Raidou-kun, let’s go to the Kuzunoha Company.” (Root)
What’s that about Falz. That’s also a fake name.
Root really does lie as easy as breathing.
Is he actually the same type as Rona?
However, even if you try to look proper when you are being restrained in midair, your dignity right now is zero.
He said ‘Let’s go’, but he himself can’t even move.
On top of that, Root, your nose is running.
Ah, that’s not it.
You have a nosebleed.
“…Hah…” (Makoto)
“Wait, Raidou-kun, what’s that sigh for? Eh, why does my head feel funny? Ah, it kind of stung. Is this nosebleed? It is nosebleed, isn’t it? Raidou-kun, my nose is bleeding!!” (Root)
Well, your face was punched in after all.
Of course you would get some sort of injury from that, even if it is you.
“Now, everyone, sorry for the trouble here.” (Makoto)
I bow my head once.
I could tell there was an uncontrollable atmosphere in the air.
I won’t take responsibility for this.
Cause I have to talk with this Root now after all.
I will probably not be refreshed with this.
But it would be nice, if even a little bit of this fuzziness inside of me is cleared.

    1. *dials the phone*
      “Hello? Mom, how are you?
      … yeah, I know.
So, I just want to tell you that I love you.
      No, nothing. There’s no problem.
I’m eating well. … It’s just that I might not be able to call you after this. The apocalypse is near after all, and … I … might fall down a huge cliff. *chuckles*
      … yeah. Okay. Right.
I know, I’ll be careful while driving.
      Bye…”
*drops phonecall and looks at the trucks window*
“Now THAT’S a huge cliff.” (talking to myself)
“Ah, whatever. Reigokai, here we go. Four more to go!”
      *vroom.. vrooooommm…*

      1. Having just watched Thelma and Louise for a social study, I’m finding myself picturing us facing the cliff in a final charge of glory.
Screw knowing what’s below or beyond it, let’s throw caution to the wind and make a running jump for it!
Then a fade to white, and possibly a little gag if the author coincidentally adds a new chapter soon after that.

      2. * Vrooooooooommmm*
        *HORN*
        *CRASH BANG*
Light came across like that drifting anime (DEJA VU)
I didn’t see that truck coming from the other side.
Huh, somehow I feel tired and light headed…
Ah, I see, there’s a pool of blood beneath my body.
        bla bla bla bla
        *Massive light overtakes the consciousness*
        *Poking sensation*
After a while, another poking sensation.
        “Ummm, five more minutes, mum”
“Uh, I’m sorry Truck-kun. You’re not supposed to be dead, yet.” (Male)
        Uh, oh ISEKAI!

        1. Err… Dewata, I haven’t move an inch. I just started the engine. Whatever hit you from behind isn’t me.

Why did you reincarnate as a Truck in another world? And you weren’t poked in the first place, you were stabbed by … nevermind.
          Welcome to Isekai !

    2. “D” wouldve love to have a new conversation partner since someones been lazying around lately..

  2. Thx for the chapt…
Aznoval the highlander knight huh…(sing:who wants to lofe forever by queen)
is there a condition when root chamge his gender into woman? Like half Ranma or when a full moon?

      1. My personal headcanon is that he’s even transformed partway through nights with lovers before just to spice things up.
There’s no explicit evidence or proof he did, but it would just make too much sense…

  3. ok dropped see ya in 6 months everyone. as i mentioned if this novel goes to bla bla bla without real advance and we know so small number of chapters left to reach raws. then this volume will end with just useless info thx for the chapter anyway

    1. Ok, while at it, please pay visit to read Pure love x insult complex. Thats story serves tense and mystery also physiological theme.

  4. i imagine Root was being held by the face or throat the whole chapter, if so i gotta admire Toa for acting normal throughout the chat.
    and Thanks for the Chap~

      1. It didn’t specify, but I imagined Root being tied to a rope and dangled off a long stick like bait on a fishing rod.
It’s the funniest arrangement I came up with to go with his attempt at seeming dignified and saying “Let’s go” to Makoto.

    1. I don’t know why, but I kept imagining Root being held up by one of Makoto’s Magic Armor arms, so to all those adventurers there it seems like he’s being held up by something invisible.
I guess it’s because last chapter Makoto mentioned he forgot about his Magic Armor when he hit Root, or something to that effect.

      1. When Makoto did his charging punch on Roots face he had grabbed him with his magic armor first, holding him in place so he couldn’t dodge or mitigate the damage. He took the full force of a Makoto serious punch to the face.
Makoto then started chatting with Toa like nothing had happened and left Root suspended in the grip of his Magic Armor.

  5. Thank you as always Reigo-san !
poor Toa she just got a lots of information to process, i hope her brain didnt execute error 404 common sense not found again
now Makoto, you need to drag Root and also fling him like a catnip and let Tomoe and Mio use him as punching bag , heck you also can use him as punching bag for relieving stress

  6. if only Root take his Female appearance…. getting tied up and hanging would be Super Sexy… and of course the Nosebleed as well…

    1. I don’t care how sexy she’d look, there’s no way I’d touch her.
Root is bad news in pretty much every way and the only aspect I think I could possibly get along with him on is the fact that we’re both mildly insane and semi-aware of it.

  7. thanks for the chapt!!
why do i feel like that everyone of the immortals will eventually become makoto’s enemy?? well, if that hapened i hoped he’d just ripped their heads and hang them as decorations in asora lolz

  8. Thanks for the chapter, Reigo-senpai.
Well peeps, nothing tonight as I’m half dead. Just that there’s now 4 left… SOMEONE SLOW DOWN REIGOKAI!!!

  9. Thanks for the chapter Reigokai, thanks you very much!
Makoto you don’t need to suspect Root anymore ,you must put him as main culprit of any event who related to him thought

  10. Woah I totally forgot about that whole backstory with Toa and her dagger… I think? It feels like the whole thing about her having ancestral heritage was a recap.
Does anyone remember when they talked about this (I would assume right around the start), or if maybe it was from a side story or something?

    1. I always assumed that Toa’s dagger was the one Makoto received from the orcs at the beginning of his journey. Since he never made the connection, I assumed this plotline would be left dangling forever. I wonder if the retrieval of that dagger was covered in a sidestory…

      1. In the manga the dagger silhoutte that showed up when Toa was talking about her dagger exactly matched the dagger that Makoto got from the Orcs. So yeah it is confirmed in the manga. But there’s no kind of story that tells us about Toa getting her dagger back from makoto

  11. “that dagger has safely returned to her hands” <— after more than 200 chapters…
Finally!!! a clausure of the infamous history of the dagger of Toa family… Even if we know that dagger was the one that the orc clans gives to Makoto as gift in the firsts chapters…
    Thanks for the chapter…

  12. Thanks for the chapter.
The comments section looks as busy as usual. Probably late saying this (and probably not the only one) but, this comments section for this novel really is lively and active, more so than any I have ever read in my entire life. It’s nice.

  13. Hurrah! TOA GOT HER KNIFE BACK DUDES!
Finally, her quest is over and she can work on living a good life. Best part of this chapter, no doubt.
So Lorel wanted to…beat Shen up and make her support their country. That’s…uh…That is certainly…a…
    …plan?
    ._.
Yep. It is most definitely a plan.
Kinda funny that Tomoe doesn’t even really remember it. I bet she was still groggy from napping when it was over.

    1. plan: subdue and capture a superior dragon to use it as military asset to rival other power having the blessing of a superior dragon, because only a superior dragon can rival a superior dragon.
there is like a flaw somewhere

      1. Can’t quite put my tongue on it. Something…I wonder what’s wrong…
Oh! You’re supposed to befriend the Superior Dragon after subduing it of course! Capturing it won’t convince it to give you blessings! 😀
…The funny thing is, that is exactly what Makoto did. Arguably twice.

  14. Thanks for the chapter! So how many chapters left? 5? We gonna see Makoto being a lesser god of destruction before we run out of chapters?

      1. @dicky even if there are a hundred more it will be near impossible unless the girls made the initiative.

  15. i wonder what the other adventurers and guild official thinking when seeing the scene where toa and makoto leisurely chatting while the guildmaster getting tied like a cocoon.

  16. Thanks 4 the chapter!
Like to see everyone in the guild’s reaction when they found out it was their Guild Master being restrained by Makoto.

  17. Thanks for the chapter~~~
Btw, It will be hiatus after few chapters right??
But it’s not the end yet, isn’t it???? T_T

  18. I believe that Root was tied into that famous tortoise shell bondage position. The nosebleed was probably from both, the punch and thinking ahead on possibilities. Thanks fot the chapter and may we get to see some resolutions. I hate books left hanging.

  19. Man. I forgot how likable Root’s silliness was.
I’d definitely lost perspective the past few chapters regarding Root’s past and implied actions-though I guess it’s more like gaining too much perspective?
Towards Makoto, Root has indeed always been friendly (probably too friendly for Makoto’s taste). It’s a welcome jolliness after all the grim talk with Tomoki, Jin, and Apple. I wonder how much of that personality is real?
I’m sure some of it is Root’s facade, and some of it is a subconscious coping mechanism for sad experiences, but surely some part of that is the “real” Root as well?
I’m still going to anticipate Makoto interrogating the truth out of him though. Comedy is comedy and atrocities are atrocities.

  20. So is any of you guys feels like the story started to get all over the place?
Like seriously I expect them to focus on about getting the mercenary as fast as possible since it’s an urgent matter and right now we have the MC tackle some random ass situation and keeps stalling the dungeon raiding stuff. It feels like we have some kind of filler chapter. Like suddenly we have this The Harem master mind controlling some guy and makoto got involved in it and then Jin got injured and right now Makoto is going to talk to Root for some stuff regarding Jin and Aznoval. None of them are relevant to the freaking dungeon -.- ( except the Aznoval one ).

    1. Not really. The mercenaries were a minor side quest at best. They were just used as a hook to get Makoto to Lorel and to advance the main plot, which is all about the Bug.
That means the Heroes’ shenanigans (or in this case, Lily’s) are part of the main plot, so Tomoki’s movements in Lorel are the important part. We’ve also discovered new threads of the main plot, namely Apple. The mercenaries are also conveniently connected to Apple, which is connected to both the Bug and Root.
Simply put, a lot of pieces of the main story are being moved right now by the author because they’re all connected with each other, and it can seem like a mess.
It probably doesn’t help that you’re focusing too much on the Mercenaries, when they were mostly irrelevant to the main story. They have connections to some of the more important parts, but they’re just a very small piece on the game board, though one that is driving many of the current changes.

    2. Basically what Kortodo said.
To begin with, it seems more realistic for everything to be so disjointed and chaotic. There are a bunch of factions all over the world vying for power and they all want a piece of Makoto in some form or another. Stories are usually told in single streams of relevant arcs, as if the rest of the world conveniently puts their own matters on hold for the hero to sort out his problems and get to their turn.
I would argue that it’s the dungeon and its residents that aren’t relevant. The only consistent plot throughout this whole story has been Makoto cultivating himself in various ways and how everyone else responds to that.
People have always complained about the story not focusing on something enough or focusing on other things too much, but I think that’s maybe because they keep expecting the plot to go the way they want it to go and it’s disrupting when the story just doesn’t want to go that way.

  21. Damn it, don’t just skim past the resolution of plot threads like you aren’t even interested in how it played out. That’s freaking frustratin’!

  22. Well thansk for the chapter Regokai-sensei, an entreteining one, so Toa had that kind of conection with Aznoval, the author is doing a great work by making it all appear no more that simple coincidence.

    1. To be fair, they’re probably still in shock over the true personality of their Guild Master. They likely had an image of a competent and dignified individual with plenty of charisma. Instead, there is this pervert proclaiming himself the Guild Master.

  23. I suggest ‘I came back but the world is still a fantasy!?’ There’s only a few translated chapters released, there’s a group working on it but to speed up the release I hope you would work with them

    1. I really like that series and wait eagerly for realeses, but the time line is all over the place in there.

  24. why is this novel jumping story all over the place, its turning trash, all the damn food talk, not following consistent story line, excessive repeating inner thoughts.
it finally had some semblance of world plot and then we go back to shit jin and crap minor stories. utter trash at this point.

    1. it may look like it’s jumping from one story to another, but kalenoeon was to show Aznoval, apple’s member (current story line), same as tsige’s travel was to know more about aznoval too.

      1. its just bad writing imo, sofia is jins “respected mentor?” right… how old was jin again? how many dragon killing and traveling did sofia do and still have time to “mentor” jin? weaving story elements so that the author can connect some acquaintanceship with chars is done terrible this way, its like a xiaxia asspull.
he should have left this whole sofia and jin thing out and introduced Aznoval like “shiki reporting: suspicious person radiating a powerful aura thingy sighted near kalenoeon wanting info on tsige, to makoto” and then mokoto going to investigate.

        1. sofia’s first fight against makoto she only killed waterfall and lancer, and between this fight and the second (around 1 years), she killed the doma and azuma, that was probably 1 or 2 years since she killed lancer. jin was 17 (IIRC) when he started raido’s class, was already in the academy, he could have meet sofia between 10 and 15 years old, that’s possible.
But I admit that jin “coincidentally” knowing her is a bit big.

    2. Well then you’re in luck. After 270 chapters, we’re finally about to catch up to the raws, so nobody can chain you up and force you to read this trashy story ever again. You were lured in by a promise of a clear main plot, but then it insidiously threw a large number of side characters that dared to have distracting subplots at you even though they could in no way tie into the main story.
Congratulations. You’ll be free from this torture. I’m so happy for you.

      1. Unfortunately i’m in the habit of mostly finishing stories even if i dislike it.
This “story” is full of deadend plots, which ‘plot/story’ got a resolved ending really?
*building town in asora with plans for its use (unresolved and forgotten)
*conquering kalenoeon (done), with plans for its development and use (unresolved, forgotten, turned into onsen slapstick)
*war with the demons (on hold while mc wanders world, mentioned in passing)
*the 2 heroes (still unresolved, mentioned in passing, pops up occasionally but nothing resolved)
*delivering dragon eggs (what was the point really?)
only 3 things that had an semblace of being resolved were demon country tour (ended with neutral stance and demons acceptance of kalenoeon), onis and shiki part, and sofia’s defeat, but sofia is being reused so guess thats added to the unresolved list.
        *sofia’s 2nd coming (tba)

        1. -building town in asora with plans for its use
he build asora to take on tribe in the wasteland that lives are too hard (working fine since there is tribe protected by him that way)
created the mist village to give to “contact” with tsige’s adventurer, change their mindset on mamonos and cover his own merchandise sources (working fine since even hibiki heard about the story about the mist village)
using asora to produce his merchandise
-conquering kalenoeon (done), with plans for its development and use (unresolved, forgotten, turned into onsen slapstick)
currently on development, look like building a country from scratch and stabilize it take more than a few months.
-war with the demons (on hold while mc wanders world, mentioned in passing)
          on hold because of winter
-the 2 heroes (still unresolved, mentioned in passing, pops up occasionally but nothing resolved)
          the 2 heroes what?
-delivering dragon eggs (what was the point really?)
the point was to make makoto meet the dragons (or the dragons meet makoto?) set up by root.
the whole arc was to make makoto meet the world’s leaders.

  25. Thanks for the chapter. The title of this chapter “A long time ago” makes me think “A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far, away”. I recently bought Star Wars episode 1-6 and I am watching it right now. “A long time ago, in a world far, far, away”. 🙂

      1. Yes it was cool. But with more different species and jedi magic. Rouge One is my favorite out of all of them so far.

  26. “Right now, that dagger has safely returned to her hands”
    glad to hear that
    thanks for tha chapter!
