Chapter 279: VS Hitsuna-san and Marikosans

“Wah…but, even if you defeat me, the fight won’t end. However, I will praise you. To think that they would be able to destroy a section of the Marikosans. Well done…..Fuhahahahaha!”
“With one attack? To think they would have the power to defeat Yellow-san with one attack. Captain!! Captain Red!! Your orders please!”
“How admirable. Truly admirable. Yellow was the weakest one among us, but her box cut <a beard style, apparently> was one you had to keep an eye on. But no need to fret. We can still do it. Don’t go on the defensive by any means. We will attack, and attack, and continue attacking! At the frontlines, we have our vice-captain, Black—”
“Captain! The attack that defeated Yellow-san penetrated all the way onto Black-san as well! Black-san has been KIA!!”
“W-What?!”
Damn it.
My power is quite weakened.
Even when I defeat these mysterious fairies that exist as a group, they revive immediately.
It seems the individuals that live long actually do grow as well but they don’t revive immediately like the rest… well, they still have that quirk of having beards though.
But those special individuals mix with the normal Marikosans and move together like an army to attack.
In other words, I have to defeat these leader type Marikosans that can’t revive immediately and make them a grouping without any chain of command.
…Group body.
…Army…
Eh, could it be…
No no no.
They are simply fighting in a style that fits their race. Yeah.
From my perspective, they are a race that everything looks like a joke, but they leave as many questions as well.
Now then, the bullet hell that was attacking me from the front had me reconstruct my Magic Armor around three times, but… for now, I decided on taking the offensive in silencing the reinforcement of Marikosans.
Not only am I in a situation where all of my magic and specs are attenuated and obstructed, if I take my time doing my aria to strengthen the attack, Hitsuna-san will come attacking me with no mercy.
If I am surrounded by several close combat Marikosans, it would be troublesome.
How to say it, even if I do short arias, there’s some sort of problematic jamming that is eating out parts of the aria by force.
Most of the long aria ones, I can’t bring them to activation because of that jamming and Hitsuna-san.
Even if I manage to activate it properly, the power is heavily decreased.
Inevitably, the only spells I can use are the ones that are arialess and their magic power is incredibly low.
How stressing!
For now, I have dealt with almost all the close combat ones and 2 of the ones that look like leaders.
Three of them had lined up pretty well, so when I tried shooting them with one attack, I managed to defeat two of them. Too bad the spell lost most of its power and was unable to get the third one.
“There!!”
In perspective, I totally look like the bad guy here. I created several tentacles with the Magic Armor and controlled them to pierce through several of the close combat Marikosans that were left.
“Even when Takane-kun is reducing his power this much, he is still…… you magic power gorilla!” (Hitsuna)
So rude!
The jeer that was practically a scream from Hitsuna-san pierced through my heart.
Magic power gorilla she says.
“That’s my only strong point you see! I will be passing through!” (Makoto)
There’s already no Marikosans around me.
If it’s now, I might be able to crush the aria jamming and the quite strong magic book spells of Hitsuna-san with my gorilla magic power.
You see, gorillas are kind at heart you know! Apparently! <Gorilla-sensei made Gintama, hence, gorillas are the superior race>
“Is that person not returning yet?!” (Hitsuna)
“Probably in around three minutes!”
“3 minutes?! Make it 30 seconds!” (Hitsuna)
“?!! Understood Priestess-san. Then, I am leaving it to you for 30 seconds.”
“Eh? Ah, could it be the Queen?” (Hitsuna)
“That’s right! If we have 30 seconds, we will have a way to defeat that guy!”
“Understood! Then, with all I’ve got, I will do everything I can without thinking about the consequences!” (Hitsuna)
Hitsuna-san and the Marikosans are shouting at each other while in the middle of this bombardment of magic
Right after that, Hitsuna-san steps forward from the line of Marikosans at the back.
And then, the pages floating around Hitsuna-san increase by more than twice the number.
Geh!
You yourself are a magic power gorilla!
This is clearly weird!
In the first place, just how much dense magic barrages has she been shooting from the very start?!
She would surpass Shiki, no jokes.
Moreover, she sometimes throws me skills that are not like those of a magician.
With someone like her as an exclusive rear guard, you would have quite a lot of peace of mind.
She is like a babysitter that has a lot of steam power.
“Let’s give it our all!”
“I can’t use Safety Zone for one minute more though. Can’t slacken my hand here!” (Hitsuna)
“We can’t either. Our long lives are not just for show. We do have a good number of tricks up our sleeves. Don’t look down on grandmas!”
Kuh…
“[Guardian of the Beautiful Country]! [Cat tribe claws]! [Songstress, Queen Teresa]….!”
With a glance, I look at the Marikosans that were at the back of Hitsuna-san.
Those girls respond to that gaze with a grin.
Sword, axe, and spear; their weapons that were mainly throwing weapons have been changed into close combat ones?
Just what in the world…
“[Fake Page, Mad Sublimation]!”
!!
A golden aura covers the Marikosans.
These aura was being breathed into them…and then, it once again gushes out from them.
Their hair had turned blond…<Super Saiyan Marikosan!>
Ah~, I want to retort, but this looks like it packs serious power.
A powerful barrier spell that blocks my Bridds; an attack spell which magic power is shaped as cats were flying at me like bullets. The power of their claws and fangs were abnormally sharp, and in the end, they explode and gouge out the Magic Armor; I don’t know if it’s random or there’s some sort of condition, but there’s a songstress summon that seems to be the curse type negating my attack magic.
Honestly, each one of them might rival one ring spell of Shiki.
And yet, there’s still a lot of magic power remaining in the body of Hitsuna-san.
I don’t know what kind of trick she is using, but it looks like this is their last spurt huh.
I can somewhat imagine who ‘that person’ they are referring to.
In the end, I was unable to grasp the place and power of this person they call Takane.
It was a tougher battle than expected, but once the end is at sight, your mood changes as well.
* * *
“[Sticky Quagmire]”
I brought down the Marikosans called Red and Blue.
The bombardment from the rear guard had weakened by quite a lot.
Hitsuna-san had finally fallen on her knees and the last three pages floating around her had disappeared.
The air in the surroundings turned heavy like a bog and coiled around me.
But that only lasted for a few seconds.
The Magic Armor resisted against those restraints and breaks it into pieces.
“Ahaha, as expected, I can’t use anymore magic power huh. Has it been 200 years since something like that has happened? Ah…now record~~.” (Hitsuna)
Just like that, Hitsuna-san tilts forward and collapses.
She is sweating bullets, and her face is completely pale.
Hm, for our side, this is the ideal way of defeating her.
This girl that self-destructed herself by running out of mana. I don’t think they lasted for 30 seconds.
“[Green Maze, Crusher]!”
Ah, a leader-type Marikosan.
So there still was one left.
The Marikosan that jumped at me had a hammer that was bigger than me and swung it.
“Sorry but, I don’t have the time to keep you guys company anymore.” (Makoto)
I place both hands of the Magic Armor together and direct them at her.
Then, I fire them.
“Taste the finishing move of the number one Marikosan that possesses herculean strength in these mutton chops—–asfasd?!!”
After a thunderous sound…Green became a star.
I did think she would penetrate the ceiling and a part of her would get stuck in it, but it is certainly true that her attack had quite the power.
It almost offsetted my magic power knuckle.
But what’s with these box cut and mutton chops. Even when I know that those are the names of their beards, I honestly still feel like that’s an unknown world for me.
“Okay, I am done. From here, it would be better to go for Mio. She is in a situation where she can’t move… I can’t even imagine a situation like that but, I will go and see.” (Makoto)
“I can’t let you do that.”
“Eh?”
I couldn’t feel its presence at all.
But I certainly heard a voice.
There’s someone directly at my right.
“To think there would be such a strong person that would be able to defeat most of the Marikosans including the elites with only one attack. It was surprising. But you still haven’t seen the true essence of the one that governs over this dungeon.”
A tone that possesses dignity; a noble presence.
Even when it sounds like a big shot, I don’t have the time to hear what it has to say.
But I…was unable to eliminate it immediately.
Teleportation huh.
Several Bridds cut through the air.
“It is true that the time to exchange words has long been over. Then, receive this with that body of yours. The strongest trump card of the Marikosans; the strongest finishing move of I, the Marikosan Queen!”
“…”
In this place, even if it ends with just resisting, it is easy to get affected by it.
It is better to stay as natural as possible and prepare for as many situations as you can.
“[Bina Wall]” <ビーンナウォール>
My sight turned pitch black in an instant.
My ears have been blocked too?!
There’s no sound.
No, not only that, I can’t even move.
Then…a restraining magic?
Hey hey, wait.
I can’t even breath!
I can’t see anything, can’t hear anything, can’t move my body, can’t breath; just what in the hell is this? What is this? What the hell is this, what the hell is this, what the hell is this?!
My spirit that was heading in a straight line towards panic…stops after a few seconds.
The trigger was a sound.
I could hear it.
The sound of my heart.
That’s when I noticed. That’s right, I am still alive.
I don’t feel the presence of the Magic Armor, but I am still alive.
The name of the last spell I heard was Bina All –no, was it Bina Wall?
And those girls were strangely like Japanese people.
Then that Wall she is talking about…
Dungeon… Wall… this situation where I can’t see, hear, move, breath…

So that’s how it is.
This is probably…no, there’s no doubt about it.
I also remember the words Hitsuna-san said to the Marikosan.
That they have a method to defeat me.
It is for certain that they were referring to this skill.
Dungeon, related to wall, finishing move…
I remember the first time I played a retro game, I felt like throwing the controller at the television.
That’s right.
Right now, I am… inside a wall.
I place all of [Sakai] into strengthening and forcefully create the Magic Armor.
It is probably quite the sturdy bedrock, I only managed to destroy around 1-2 meters of my surroundings.
If this is the very center of a wall, I should be satisfied that I at least managed to do it.
This is probably something my previous weakened state wouldn’t have been able to do.
In that case…
This place would normally spell instant death, but maybe because it is outside of the weakening space of this Takane person, even in a situation where it feels as if my [Sakai] is still hazy, I feel pretty cleared up.
I wonder where’s the 20th floor?
I don’t know for how long I will manage to breath, so I should hurry.
But this Marikosan Queen, she had some outrageous trump card hidden.
I probably let down my guard because of how ideally I broke Hitsuna-san.
Hm.
As always, I can’t properly pick up the situation there, but…I have found the 20th floor.
If the person they are referring to is just as I think, this knight by the name of Aznoval, even if he were to arrive, the situation wouldn’t change much.
But, it is the truth that I do have a slight ominous feeling.
I want to return by the time that happens.
…Digging huh. It’s been awhile since I have done that.
Since the time I broke through the barrier of the Akua and Eris combi.
Let’s do this.
Dig, dig, dig like crazy, and return.
Wait for me, last round!

    1. Obviously, their so-called trump card is flawed because it doesn’t instantly kill someone with a telefrag and relies on them suffocating in a layer of bedrock they “can’t move” in.
You never give an irresistible force a chance to be resisted.

      1. Obviously not true, they don’t know what he is capable of, their trump card left is to send him to a wall and lock him unconscious but they don’t know that his level of will power and focus surpass human limits. They have no way to sure fire kill him since they are all generally weaker than him, it seems even though in the maze they are powered up and Makato’s group are restricted. and what’s up with Makato’s premonition, they are generally almost all correct, it’s like he can see the future

  1. arigatou~
“It is true that the time to exchange words has long been over” this is actually very cocky of them for the fact that Makoto have apologize for killing the two brainwashed lady and they are the one that wants to attack Makoto and the rest and yet is terrified by their retaliation

      1. Your posts indicate that you think that Makoto is picking a fight by entering when he received pretty mixed signals on that front. I think an argument could even be made that Picnic Rosegarden invited Makoto and company in so they could enact there revenge with the best possible chance of success.
It could also be said that they where invited by the controller of the dungeon in that little bet since they turned off the ALT rooms just so they could have a clear run. He was told by Rokuya he would be an intermediary for them if they breached the dungeon to the 10th floor by the next day he then went back on his word as he said that he would be taking Picnic Rosegarden’s side in a fight but in that same conversation Rokuya also claimed that if Makoto and company came he was sure that it would work out considering how well he knew Vivi. If you add all this together I think Makoto went to the bottom layers of labyrinth in good faith hoping to be able to negotiate.

        1. -rokuya meet makoto
-give the message from the dungeon master ‘Going right now would be the worst timing for both sides. If you want to negotiate with Rosegarden, I want you to wait for a while’. said to wait a few years
-makoto refuse and explain his reasons
-rokuya is convinced and propose the challenge
-rokuya go back in 20th floor
-DM is disappointing it didn’t work
-rokuya finally learn what is happening
          -meeting in the 10th floor
-rokuya say it won’t be possible, and explain the situation.
          -all force are reuniting
          -rokuya said they will clash
          – makoto acknowledged the fight was inevitable, still say he won’t lose and bring negotiations
          -rokuya say it’s reckless

      2. The thing is this statement right here
“Oops, let’s put my matters aside for now. Anyways, sad to say but, the girl that had her close friend killed by you -her name’s Pione by the way-she is planning on having revenge on you. And so, the designer of this labyrinth, the Marikosan, and on top of that, the Picnic Rosegarden members from all sides are gathering in order to mediate this.” (Rokuya)
Where it happens is only a place at least as far as Makoto and company are concerned but that statement makes it pretty clear they intend to try and assassinate him weather he goes or not. So why shouldn’t he try to go and bring the other party to negotiation table here in the dungeon rather then deal with assassination attempts that could involve other parties that aren’t involved. What exactly is stopping them from attacking outside the dungeon if the person in question is dead set on revenge and the other parties seem to be ok with it and are helping.

        1. No, the statement make it clear that they intent to ambush him in the dungeon because they know it’s too much without the whole force of the dungeon.
there is no definitive proof they wouldn’t attack outside, but there is no proof they would attack either.
Do you stab all hobos you meet because “what if he tried to rob me”?

      3. It might be better to say would you attack a hobo who pulled a knife and told me to give him my wallet. Since they have already declared their intent to seek revenge against him. So acting as if their intent is some how unclear seems rather dishonest. they aren’t some random passer by doing nothing. They where pulling there forces together you say ambush but why couldn’t they proactively attack him? What exactly is stopping them. Even the more reasonable voices and I use those words very loosely are going along with it mostly for the lolz.

        1. since they didn’t clash and makoto was warned, it would be more: if a hobo in an alley say he will rob you if you come close, you rather jump on him with a knife than walking it off and calling the cops? that’s insane.
why they had to gathered ALL the force in the labyrinth constitute in itself a reason as why they wouldn’t attack outside, though nothing is sure.

      4. You seem confused or practicing a bit of sophistry on who attacked first since the Picnic Rosegarden are the ones that actually made the first aggressive move. Also who is this “cop” Makoto is supposed to appeal to? That world is pretty much might makes right so solve your problems with your own hands or lie down and die, especially in regards to a powerful group like Picnic Rosegarden. Again Makoto only went there to try and work this out but also wasn’t willing to be steam rolled by these people.

        1. >You seem confused or practicing a bit of sophistry
“I don’t like your reasoning so I will call it fake”
          > Also who is this “cop” Makoto is supposed to appeal to?
I write it because it seem common sense to me, but actually it won’t be of any use. the cop will give him a warning for threatening, at best take him for half a day, but a hobo won’t care.
          >That world is pretty much might makes right
yep, that’s why tomoki is right
remember the begining of the thread, it about the time to talk
          Now remember what happened:
after makoto came in the dungeon for the first time, rokuya, messenger of the DM, said to not come now, it wasn’t the good time, to wait for the situation to settle down.
makoto convince rokuya (who still didn’t know what was happening.
in the 10th floor, rokuya explain the situation, and say if he step on the 20th floor, everybody will attack him.
Makoto’s reply was ‘I still come and I won’t loose.
now imagine from their point of view. that reply was a clear provocation, The DM wanted makoto to leave, that mean he didn’t intent them to clash. is it that unlikely that some was against it and intended to make vivi renounce, but changed their mind after hearing makoto? the fight was established with those words
you say Picnic Rosegarden are the ones that actually made the first aggressive move. but is it really?
They attacked first when makoto stepped in the 20th floor, I agree.
But Makoto basically come in a property against the warning of the actual owner. He ignored the warnings and jumped right in it fully armed knowing he would be attacked.
That technically make him an armed intruder, and can be killed with self-defense.

      5. The sophistry I was mainly talking about was this false equivalence where what Makoto was doing was like running around murdering hobo’s because he didn’t like the way they looked which was not the situation at all and what i took issue with. As to Makoto performing a BNE by entering the dungeon that’s also pretty shaky. The dungeon isn’t some office building its a dungeon. I am pretty sure that if another adventuring group that Makoto and company had previous dealings with and tried to take advantage of the dungeon in a attempt to kill them it would you know still be morally wrong no matter how justified they might feel about it.
But you know what this conversation is going on to long and I really don’t wish to run in circles about it with you. You have your point of view on it and I have mine so I will be happy with that. No hard feelings and hope we both can continue to enjoy the writing. Have a great day 🙂

    1. All the other battles in this dungeon are straight forward fights, there are some attempted ambushes, and some cheat skills mixed in, but still direct. Makoto’s battle is all about blocking out all sight with attacks, trying to exhaust and annoy, now they even put him in a wall, that’s not a real attack, even though it should be sudden death.

    2. It´s because they actually have no reason to fight him this hard. There are literally no grudges between him and the mercenarys, the dungeon or the origin Adventurers. it´s all because one stupid bitch can´t accept that she failed in saving her “friends” and blames makoto for granting them salvation in death. At leats thats what annoys me the most. They are up to fighting to the death for something this stupid against a guy that originally came to ask for help.

    3. The problem is that they’re entirely the ones picking the fight, I think. They’re throwing all sorts of desperate trump cards at someone who doesn’t want to fight for a reason that’s at least as much their fault as his.
It doesn’t help that they have a slight ego too, but that’s nothing special. Actually, most of Makoto’s experiences are kinda like this. It’s just that while everyone else had an understandable real agenda or ideal, these guys are just pursuing petty revenge on top of that.

      1. If makoto were really serious he could probably broke the dungeon. He was able to pull a dimensional god out of his own dimension how hard is it to destroy a dungeon

    4. ugh, because we felt like they came out of nowhere and giving our crew a hard time.. (well, understandable as they were cursed to be forgotten)
idk maybe it’s just Sofia and Lancer were more interesting as antagonists…

    1. Really? I didn’t feel that much from it.
If so, it might be the fact that it’s an action scene, which the Azumi Kei might not even be used to doing. Plus he(she?) had a hiatus, so rust might be a factor.

      1. Too much skill names that we can’t relate much!.. Author-san might have played RPGs during their hiatus so they could properly write this arc where the theme is a tower-climbing-dungeon-RPG (?)

  2. Again, thanks for the chapters Reigo-senpai.
Okay, that was cheating if I ever seen it. Putting Makoto into the bedrock? Oh, he’s gonna show them that it was a mistake.

    1. lets hope it wont become an awkward moment where he suddenly poped out from the ground beneath the girl and he see her underwear…. (from his bad luck power…. that might happen…. i hope so :d )

      1. well…. for Makoto it would be bad luck since he definitely dont want to give even more bad impression to others…. so i conclude this one into Makoto’s Bad Luck moment (unlike most of us who will GRIN like Idiot and maybe dive into the land of pantsu in desperate moment like something kinda GO BIG OR GO HOME since we probably getting beaten up, heck why not just enjoy the moment and do that guhehehehehe )

  3. I need more!!!, and i don’t know… why he didn’t use the rings to pulverizes all… or use his skill of comprehension of all to imitate the book or to do a good move… we need the berserker version of him is they kill someone of his people…

    1. he doesn’t use rings because it’s useless as a weapon.
his comprehension skill permit him to understand a language, not reproduce any magic he saw
going berserk here would be petty IMO

  4. Thanks for the chapter. Hitsuna casting spells reminds of the character Oriana in “A Certain Magical Index” vol. 10. She always cast a spell every time she rips a piece of paper from her tag.

  5. Uwah. Gorilla Magic Power. I hope that becomes a thing in the community.
So what I got from the first half of that battle was one giant aura in the shape of a gorilla wrestling with another. And one has tentacles coming out from its body all over while the other has book pages stuck to it? An image almost as weird as Makoto himself.
I have to say, I didn’t expect to see our dear Annihilation Merchant end up in a serious fight against a non-god at this point. Even if it’s exceedingly wacky(getting glitched into a wall and digging your way out of all things…), Makoto was actually kinda troubled for a second there.

    1. Waka needs to learn tactics if he wants to fight beings with similar magical power capacity. It’s a good thing these guys volunteered as fodders.
(lol, I’m being affected by the comment section’s displeasure to the current opponents)

    2. Lol Makoto is still Not unleashes his mettle he still has seals all around hin even his armor is s seal!!! Hahahahah time to destroy the dungeon and make a big hole around it or should it be a crater! =D

  6. Yeah… pretty much fools.
The immortality gave it to his head.
Just cuz they feel immortals they think they kill who they don’t like without repercussions.
After all, their reasons to kill are pretty weak :/
Well, thanks for the work and for explaining your intentions 🙂
    bye

    1. They maybe immortal but they are not Invincible. Also there are weapons out there that can kill an Immortal or Just give them a worst nightmare or poison like in the legend of Chiron the centaur who suffered for almost eternity because of his immortality cant die but been torture from inside that’s the greatest joy i will find it delicious as punishment for what they been giving unjust treatment to Makoto.

    2. I don’t think it’s a matter of immortality, but more about people knowing about a life a battle and war, their view over death in battle is different than our who only know peace.
the mercenary killing for a petty vengeance may be weak or cheap, but they are people than kill for money to begin with

  7. why is Makoto and the gang being so nice to these people? they are such cunts to them and even when they try to be nice to them, try to explain they refuse to listen. If they weren’t immortal i would tell him to kill them.

    1. Makoto decided on one chapter to not always use brute force and become more merchant-like.
They needed them for Tsige too..
And why should Makoto trouble himself by getting mad at them? It’s not like they’ve properly given him any damage.

    2. they aren’t being “so nice” to begin with. their were warned not to come to let the situation calm down. but they didn’t care about the warning, “refuse to listen”, and go straight for the fight.
killing them after being the one to trigger the fight would be selfish

      1. Makoto and Co. don’t have a lot of time on their hands. The war can advance at any moment, that’s why they are hurrying.
Apple and PRG knows about the war and Makoto already told them about why he wanted their help. They know that he can’t wait that long, that’s why they were confident that he would come to them and if the Aion Kingdom comes to invade Tsige, it would already be too late to ask for their help.
Makoto doesn’t have any options and they know it. He can’t wait and they knew it.

        1. not much time, but they still leisurely toured lorel…
apple know why they want the mercenaries, but they know too thet makoto doesn’t need them to begin with.

  8. cmon… is it just me or makoto fights are all > oh god now you do that ohhhhh now that? hah that wont work wait thats unfair? now that? omg i never noticed you would do that? <<< cmon already despite already know he is near god lvl ( obviously over god lvl ) thx to his stupid way to think he fall for weak ppl like that. its really depressing

    1. if he felt like, I bet he could obliterate the entire Labyrinth from the outside.. no scratch that… the entire Lorel if he felt like it. But he’s trying to become a better merchant you know and I’m pretty sure turning Lorel into a desert is bad for the company’s image. As CEO, he actually thought this through… I’m so proud of him, lol

    2. his mana may be god-like, it was always a problem as to how use it.
he basically just steam roll with big spells, but the jamming make him enable to cast big spell, so he can only do jabs (that still insta-kill marikosan)
and you just called the strongest ‘people’ in the world “weak people like that”.
it was shown in tomoe’s pov that they had the strength to kill a superior dragon

  9. Thanks for the chapters.
I honestly feel disappointed by this combat it seems like Makoto just stood around the whole time complimenting his opponents form in his head until she collapsed from mana depletion. I think at this point I would say screw this group and turn there dungeon into another inland lake. I mean these guys are trying to kill him and his group no scratch that his family over something that wasn’t his fault. I mean he did kill there friends. However there friends went and literately tracked him down and attempted to assassinate him. They targeted him for death and he’s the bad guy for defending himself, what the heck.
I think what is really annoying me is the set up with the dungeon because it seems like they are playing games with Makoto. At this point I really want them to make him angry enough to let loose like he has in previous battles and do some renovations of the local area so they can stop and ask themselves why the heck they are doing this in the first place and if it is really worth it to continue poking that particular nuclear bomb in human form.

      1. In real life I would say the smart choice would be to pull back and send a different representative but You and I both know that isn’t book logic redcolonel. If there is one thing that has been consistent through the story people in that world respect power. So it ends up in the normal at least for these kinds of novels. “We must test the limits of your resolution to walk this path etc etc or a derivative of same.”
As to my want to see Makoto just flip the table in rage I think it has a lot to do with how myself and others see Picnic Rosegardens actions as so unnecessary and wishing to see them be hoisted by their own petards after forcing this fight for no good reason since Makoto made a good faith effort to handle things peaceably.

  10. Thanks for the chapters. I really hate how the author has Maputo fight. He clearly isn’t going all out here but almost every other sentence is whining about how hard the fight is. Man up our shut up, Makoto.

    1. Well, I imagine it like, having a nagging girlfriend nag at you and you just stand there thinking what to eat for dinner while also thinking when the nagging will end

  11. ‘ – ‘ )……
at first it was Makoto having Danmaku fight… and now…. he suddenly evolve into Simon the Digger….
i wonder how long it will for Makoto Materia Prima evolve into Super Galactic Gurren Lagann

    1. Ikr? First the Dempsey, then Heimerdinger, and now Touhou, complete with spell cards. And Makoto being the BOSS he is, times out all the enemies’ spell cards by effectively tanking them to face.

    2. Everyone you all forgot tentacles grow out of it and use it all in the Marikosans which are female including Hitsuna
      Hehehehe.(droooling) TENTACLES!!!!!

  12. thanks for the chapter reigokai-sensei…
n thanks too oh Azumi Kei-sensei as the author that make a comeback with a brillian fast update the chapter…XD
lol i imagine it that makoto get buried alive in the ground… cannot breath, no vision, did not know the diriction n no sound he can hear, im so sure it will make one normal people go crazy… what such a horror situation.

    1. It kind of reminds of a so called scare movie which I believe was made into a series called “Buried Alive”. 1 time in a certain country there was so called old man who was afraid to buried after his death that he might wake up. The people set up so that if he did wake up the set up for ways he could be rescued he even had bell to ring for help.

  13. so why exactly is Makoto going easy on these guys after what they’ve done? he went and killed (though he killed at least) Sofia when she tried to kill him and his friends/family so why is he allowing these guys to do whatever they want without any repercussions?
if anything her motives were more valid then these guys, she wanted strength, revenge on her father and revenge on Makoto for almost killing her during their last encounter. what do these guys want? they want to kill Makoto and company because he defended himself against a couple of assassins who tried to kill him…
these guys are worse than Sofia….

    1. Makoto feels a certain familiarity with the group in that they are also Japs abducted to this world for stupid reasons and furthermore he needs the groups help in defending Tsige as he wants the town to be independent. Granted yea I agree these guys seem to be bigger fucking idiots and assholes than Sofia and Makoto should of just bloody nuked the entrance to send a damn statement. Hell he should of went full war mode and started digging via explosive craters to the bottom but hell we need some sort of conflict but you got to admit the scene where Makoto will probably burst through the ground like some sort of mole out of nowhere will be funny. Even funnier if he had some incredibly evil looking grin on his face and eyeballing everyone whilst saying ” IIIIMMM BAAAACCCCCK”.

    2. -why exactly is Makoto going easy on these guys after what they’ve done?
remember why he is in lorel?
-why is he allowing these guys to do whatever they want without any repercussions?
remember that makoto provoked them by coming knowing perfectly he wasn’t welcomed
He knew it would only trigger a battle to come, so he came fully armed like waging a war.

      1. sure hes there to hire them but its not like they are Tsige’s only hope. not only is he now buddying up with the Lorel royal family but hes also strong as a god.
saying he came there knowing it would provoke a battle, he tried to do things peacefully and it didn’t work. it was is mission it talk to them so he had to go

        1. why would he purpose come pick a fight under the pretense of recruiting them if it’s for not recruiting but killing them? it’s just going on a bloody purge
“he tried to do thing peacefully”
I will peacefully take your lands, if you fight it’s your fault
it’s isn’t a quest from a RPG, he doesn’t need to talk to a specific NPC to progress it. he was said to wait a few years because of the tension, that’s enough to say it failed

    1. maybe if he use the full powered arrow, he afraid the dungeon might collapse from the power, when he use it on Sofia its because its an isolated dimension that he dont need to think what might happen to the surrounding area from the damage of his Arrow

    2. seeing that he used his bow on sofia only after a long time fighting only as magician, I think he would use it only on last resort.
or, he goal were to kill them but to incapacite them, maybe by fear to kill someone by accident he didn’t use his strongest weapon

  14. I was going to express my impatience with this sequence, but it seems everyone else has complained about it already. So nevermind.
Thanks for all your hard work, instead! 😏

  15. It was really like when Satou get brainwash but nulllify that time too when facing fake priest, I think we will get cliff again but ~
It’s fine & thanks for chap

  16. I’m sorry, but this series of fights is just sort of boring to me. Everything is just seeming tedious and all the main characters are getting unnecessarily tossed around like ragdolls because of carelessness or just plain lack of attentiveness. The whole “buying time” and “holding back because of a kinship ” don’t justify all this for me. I keep finding myself looking forward to the point where all the fights are over and the storyline starts progressing again. I feel like I’m watching drawn out DBZ fights where “sure kill finishers” are named and spammed all fight, but no progress is made until somebody transforms.

  17. Many Thanks for the double release!
Whew, so many references. Was the black wall/bedrock from Minecraft or something? Either way, going to wait to see Makoto the digger! It was really nice to not see him overwhelming everyone in a broken way though. Albeit Hitsuna self depleted herself…

      1. To think that guy’s first thoughts after reading bedrock was Minecraft… what exactly are schools teaching nowadays….

        1. I learned what it was with minecraft :/
but, english isn’t my native tongue, so it’s probably normal that I didn’t know the word ‘bedrock’

  18. Thanks Reigokai. Root seems to think aznoval is stronger than Makoto, so we should see something interesting should they fight.
100% once all this is over, Makoto will train in asora creating new techniques. Even with his thick head, these fights should teach him the advantages of fighting on home ground (goddess).

    1. There’s a possibility that:
      >It might reveal the thing that is calles Asora so he doesn’t use it.
      >It’s Unusable in the Wall/dungeon
      >He forgot about it and just wanted to dig… who wouldn’t want to digg through a dungeon wall, as if to exploit a glitch in a dungeon crawling game and go straight in to the final boss room, especially when you have the strength to defeat it~

  19. ….after all that he still think leisurely….
    well… he didn’t fight to kill… just to teach them a lesson…
if he serious they would ended up like certain Haughty Door…

  20. Wth is with that ending. Its like a comedy……. i am kinda wondering why didnt he do the attack like when he attack purple cloud san. Speaking of which cant he summon the armored glove with all of his ring and nuke the bunker till lvl 20 lol that would be cool

  21. Makoto only tried to defeat them by exhausting them and haven’t used his hidden cards to destroy them. well his objective is to get help from them but this guys are being annoying trying to kill Makoto cuz of killing one of them is a good reason but He just killed the “friends” of one of them who “tried” to “kill” him so trying to kill Makoto with the reason of him killing those girls is not really a reason since its legitimate selfdefense
    Thanks for the chap ~

    1. Who knows that friend that Makoto kill might have being more than just a friend. I am kind of curious of more background story of this friend that Makoto killed. Which mean more in depth.

  22. As much as i would dislike one of his group dying, i really hope when he escapes that Aznoval or one of the original garden members seriously injures one of Makoto’s allies just so they can see how terrifying he is when he is not trying to keep them alive. I like the adventurers of origin, and it might be due to their long life span, but their thought process on how willing they are to kill Makoto’s group just for him defending himself is annoying as hell. Sure, hold a grudge for him murdering some of your friends, maybe try to beat his group up, but there is no need to try and kill his group and its frustrating to see them trying to resort to murder due to their own failure despite the fact they acknowledge it is their own fault that the brainwashed women escaped. They could use a trampling.

    1. Agreed, its utterly stupid that they want someone else to take responsibility for their own uselessness.
Maybe next time they will let more psycho prisoners escape, murder thousands then these picnic garden people will come out and kill all the relatives who try to take revenge. After all, its the victims fault for not being able to capture the psycho prisoners. Someone better help those victims to manage to kill a psycho prisoner because you have to restrain them, not kill them or the picnic garden people will come and kill you for not simply allowing yourself to be killed.
      Ridiculous

  23. If i were Makoto I just kill them over and over until they have nightmares after all they are immortal ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

  24. Well, that was frustrating; in the sense that, Makoto can easily steamroll through them, but is constrained by the fact that he is originally there to request their assistance, not to mention he is being vengefully (and unfairly) targeted for killing the assassins, if they really wanted justice, they should have gone after Trashmoki… they’d actually have a better chance killing him.
Truthfully though, if I were in Makoto’s shoes, I’d probably have done the same or worse… that’s what makes this chapter so frustrating for me >_<

  25. Thanks for the double combo, and really thanks for not letting us in the cliff. I don’t know if I should feel pissed that they did so well against Makoto or if i should feel glad and praise them for it. Great figth indeed, it seems like the rest the author took did him some good in keeping the quality if his work.

  26. “Even when Takane-kun is reducing his power this much, he is still…… you magic power gorilla!” (Hitsuna)
F you bitch to think that I liked you a few chapters ago. Makoto go destroy this shitty labyrinth

      1. you are really damn defensive on these rose garden people. they are going full psycho on the MC because he did nothing more than defend himself and you’re cheering them on…

        1. the pic wasn’t against beyondgodmaou, but against what hitsuna said
because they are wrong doesn’t mean everything you do will be right

  27. I’m baaaaaaack !
I’ve finished work, read the twin chapters and … it’s time for Orca to comment !
Now, let’s start the ‘Hot Hot TsukiMichi Discussion’ with the best part first.
    The Juicy Picturess !
Since this chapter is very Makoto-centric, today I’ll go with him as the star.
    http://oi63.tinypic.com/10ehhna.jpg
    The many faces of Makoto.
    http://oi66.tinypic.com/mt1hj5.jpg
    http://oi67.tinypic.com/32zmdf8.jpg
    Ike, ike, Makoto !
    Go save the girls !
    http://oi67.tinypic.com/vjjmd.jpg

        1. I think?
Look at the Guild Master! He will teach you everything about being an adventurer, from the Quests, the Rewards, the Skills, to the elusive Night Raids.
          That’s a pun.

          1. We’ve already seen this one before. It doesn’t count and it doesn’t work.
            ………………
            ……………
            ………

            Okay, fine. It counts. (- /// -)

          2. She just hasn’t had the screen time.
Heck, even Tomoe is kinda low on screen time in the overall story. Has she actually lost to Shiki at this point? Quite a departure from the “first girl” tradition, but I kinda like it.

          1. Komoe and her predecessor Mini Tomoe are called the Dragon’s Fragment.
I think Tomoe can make more of them but they will be a weakness to her (since they share senses and pain, Tomoe will take take the same amount of damage that any Mini got).

      1. Makoto has always been an expressive person. His monologues however, does not show any hint if emotion and that is why some reader shuns the m.c of TsukiMichi (some stops reading because if this).
If you read from the beginning of the novel you can see his transformation from a youth full of emotion to an adult devoid of excitement. Is that how the author shows adulthood? Or maybe that is the side effect of OPness? That the m.c is losing emotional ability, apathy?
Makoto himself is aware of the change in him. That is why he chooses not to kill Sari and instead brings her to Asora. He wants to feel human again, or be the ideal human.
My guess is that he is becoming less and less human, both in physical and mind and that is the author’s intention.
        …..
Maybe in the end Makoto will split into two beings. That will be the real antagonist a.k.a last boss.

        1. While I would really like an “enemy from within” turn of events, I can’t help but wonder how that would work out.
It strikes me that it’s Makoto’s monstrous side that’s getting more and more powerful. His human side is just curbing the destruction with restraint. If the two separated, would the Makoto left behind become weaker or stronger? Which side does his incredible growing power belong to?

          1. The duality of Makoto’s character is the key of this, I think. His inner self could be his real self. The bad one is showing itself and repressing the good one. Or the other way around.
I’ve read about the ancient ‘gods’ from wiki and somehow stumbled on Janus. He seems similar to current Makoto.

          2. Hmm. Turning it around then, what would happen if our human Makoto lost to his eldritch self? What about the other way around?
Which result are we really rooting for?

          3. There have to be a balance of evil and good for Makoto to stay human.
If the evil side wins, Makoto will be no less than The Devil, that so many people named him before.
If the reverse happens, he might as well become a God or a prophet. With current level, that is unlikely to happen, even with all the ‘Makoto is powerful as god’ hype because Makoto is still vulnerable and mortal.
No.. actually that is what I personally hope. I don’t want him to just be a God. Mostly because that is what most WN and LN ends with. I hope for something different. He can be the mortal that changes the hierarchy of gods (like Kratos used to be) or becomes the guardian of world travel, etc.

          4. Hmm. I’m not sure. Makoto doesn’t seem into the idea of immortality, but that would mean leaving his followers behind when he reaches the end of his lifespan.
It makes more sense for him to ascend to godhood than any other MC…

          5. His lifespan might end the near future. Wasn’t there are talk between the God’s that Makoto’s power is harming the more he is gathering more power?

        2. You are right. He is kind of similar to the MC in “Arifureta Shokugyou de Sekai Saikyou” that they both want to go home and they are losing the so individual of Japan and becoming the so called less human of that world. The difference the MC of “Arifureta Shokugyou de Sekai Saikyou” switch over to the less human in less than a few days but it took Makoto over a longer period of time. I wonder if Makoto will go the same struggle of Hajime did that he will worry that his parents or sisters will except for he is now since he has killed and such in the fantasy world.

  28. BTW, I just had a thought… This chapter, are you sure this ain’t Touhou Project?
All them fairies and them magic bullets and that “I would have liked to watch it some more”…
as well as Spell Card… Pages!

    1. You know, I’m not sure if Makoto actually does sweat in combat. When he’s in killing mode, it’s like he’s one with death and whether it’s receiving or delivering, he doesn’t feel much for either.

  29. They are not holding back at all and using fatal attacks. I don’t see why Makoto has to hold back anymore.
Destory the entire lot then build automated golems to defend the town.

      1. Do i sound surprised? It has always been idiotic that he felt he needed these picnic garden people, because he never did. The author had to make up some excuse to force him to “need” them despite having plenty of alternatives that are obvious when you have a lich sage, dwarves and enough power to make spirits do what you want on your side.
Undead, golems, nature spirits, take your pick. Hell, the dwarves could make a super robot and give it to the town

  30. Really… Makoto, just go home already, and protect Tsige by yourself. Dont care what Tsige’s adventurer think about him, a monster or what. I’m sick with this dungeon people. I don’t want they become Tsige’s protector.
And I want to know what Aznoval judgement about this conflict. He willing to talk? Or fight? If the latter, like I said, go home, not worth the hassle.
Oh, don’t forget to destroy the dungeon before you leave.

    1. He’s doing this so he doesn’t have to protect Tsige every time its in trouble. Its not because he is worried about what the adventurers think of him. The only reason he mentioned that is when he was explaining why the adventurers wouldn’t be motivated to get stronger after seeing him fight. Kuzunoha is busy enough as it is to worry about defending Tsige whenever a neighboring country picks a fight.

      1. like some other person pointed JUST FOR THE LOVE OF GOD builld GOLEMS like other novel point it, thats a GOOD way to defend a lot of territory…..

  31. All of this hassle makes me think… are these Picnic guys really that useful to Tsige? I mean they seemed to tied down to their dungeon and by extension Lorel itself and doesn’t seems to be the type that wanted to get involved with the outside world. Also I really don’t know how keen they are about opposing the goddess since Tsige is now apparently her target as well.

    1. to be honest i think hes being tricked by Saritz to get involved in Lorel politics and try to wrangle the rose garden into formation.
i very much doubt bug sent that priest/inquisitor there. more than likely she went on her own accord, though it would give Makoto a casus belli to kill Trashmoki and claim the goddess started it by breaking the pact first.

  32. HA! The beard queen teleported him into a wall~?! Its a teleporting magicians worst nightmare hahaha. Thank you for the chapter, and I agree, there has been no food given to your youngest, I will hunter you down if it’s too late~

  33. thanks for the chapter.
    I have a question:
what do people think about Hibiki raiding fort Stella, lose a comrade in the fight (swordman), and now up to kill the demon for vengeance?
    another question, consider the setting:
hibiki end up fight and killing a guy.
She was in the right and only defended herself
She want to meet a clan’s head to recruit them as force for Limia
a member meet her and say they aren’t willing to cooperate since she killed the guy
the guy was part of the clan, and now the clan hate Hibiki
the member said if she come, she will be killed on sight
even if she weren’t wrong to kill the guy, she should wait for the situation to calm down
Hibiki really want the clan’s force, so she disregard his warning and still go.
she know they will attack her, and that her coming will trigger a battle, so she came fully armed, and ready to kill.
She step on the clan’s property, and then the clan just on her to kill her
She kill every single one of them, because she was in her right to.
now, my question, what would people think about her for that?
would they say she was perfectly right?
Or would they say she was provocative, aggressive? that she was forcing her own ideal on them and didn’t respect their feeling? That she didn’t tolerate that people did not bend to her rule?
    I wonder.

    1. I never really pegged Hibiki as vengeful. Io is more like…a trauma for her that symbolizes her failure she needs to overcome.
She has bias against the demons now, but it’s not to the point of wanting revenge, I don’t think. Then again, I was never really one to hate Hibiki. She’s slightly annoying at times, but I never felt she was unreasonable or even unfair after considering her circumstances.

    2. Well… in this case hibiki is not constrained by lack of time so… it’s different from Makoto’s case. Remember that he is being choked by time, and he doesn’t have more (time).

      1. Limia was nearly destroyed twice but saved by the “3rd envoy” (the capital got destroyed though), they are in a winter truce but hibiki really more power right know.
Makoto want to recrute the mercenaries because he doesn’t want to use his own troops, they are basically a bonus and not necessary.
I think right now she is far more in need for troops than makoto
but we are off topic right know, the reason for the troops doesn’t matter to this situation, right?

    3. The Fort Stella thing and the assassination thing are totally different in context.
Hibiki and the demons were fighting a “War”. That in itself is totally different since both sides were determined to kill each other.
With the assassination, it was only one side that came to kill with the end result being self-defence (or in Makoto’s case, putting her out if her misery). You can’t compare the two.
As for the scenario you suggested… All you did was place Hibiki in a similar situation as Makoto, which would still not be Hibiki’s (Makoto’s) fault since it was self-defence.
I don’t know what you are trying to do by placing a character the majority dislikes in the same situation as Makoto. Hibiki is hated because of her own actions and thoughts she acted on in the past. Even if she were placed in a similar scenario and if she was in the right at the time, it would still not change her past actions, unless she redeems herself.
      Now, about Makoto.
The reason he went was because he “needed” them and that he didn’t have any “time” to wait it out.
Also, Makoto told them not to get killed, but he didn’t say anything about getting angry at the other party if his companions are killed. He’s trying his hardest to keep his friends save, but haven’t shown any resentment towards the ones trying to kill them.
In the end, the reason for the fight is still weak. Of you look at it in reverse, would you say that if Makoto and Co. killed any of them, would Makoto be a bad guy, since they were the ones to show hostilities first?

      1. the fort stella was a comparison with people wishing for a member of makoto’s party to die or be heavily wounded so makoto would go berserk, kill them all, and destroy the labyrinth to ‘teach them’.
So you are okay with the slaughter of the whole clan in the name of justice, even though she could have just listened and not go there?
as too how hibiki is seen, I dunno. Zef is basically a more mature version of hibiki, but seen far better than hibiki.
No, makoto doesn’t ‘need’ them. he have his own army if he want to defend tsige.
“time” doesn’t matter. that’s not because he is urged by time that his action are more right or wrong.
        he doesn’t have time
he doesn’t want to kill them
he didn’t said he won’t be angry if they kill a friend
        he haven’t show resentment
So fucking what? why would they have to comply to makoto’s agenda?
Makoto was told he can’t negotiate right now
Makoto was told to wait a few years
Makoto was told they will attack him if he come
Makoto was told the whole labyrinth’s force a uniting against him
Makoto was told he was in disadvantage in the fight
Makoto was told he didn’t need their strength, he was strong enough to defend tsige.
But he still walked in knowing it will trigger a war
At this point it’s like trowing a match on a car dripping wet with gasoline, watch it burn and say “not my fault, it wouldn’t have burned if their wasn’t gasoline, I am innocent”

        1. No, I’m not okay with her slaughtering the whole clan. You’re implying that I agree with those who want Makoto to go Beserk.
All I said was that the other party is in the wrong since the reason for their resentment is weak.
Yes, he does “need” them since Makoto isn’t specialised in defensive wars and he needs Tsige to grow stronger by itself, otherwise they will become too dependent on the Kuzunoha company. Plus, helping Tsige will be like a declaration to the other countries that Makoto isn’t staying neutral anymore.
You do understand that Makoto needs them now for the upcoming battle. He won’t need them in a few years since the war might be over by then and who is to say that he won’t be able to get them to cooperate if they negotiate.
Makoto still hasn’t even spoken to Pione yet. She doesn’t know the reason why he did it and if Makoto tells her why he did it and why there wasn’t any other choice but to kill her, she might have a change of heart.
He know the disadvantages, but he still went, so? He knows that he might get killed or his companions may die. Yet, he’s still risking it
You’re getting angry at Makoto because people want him to go Beserk, yet Makoto doesn’t show any resentment to the ones who are trying to kill him. So what’s the problem? It’s Makoto’s choice for wanting to negotiate with the other party, even if there is just a slight chance that he’ll win them over.
You shouldn’t hate a character because of the readers’ bias, especially since their desires doesn’t align with the characters own actions.

          1. so, you are against makoto killing PRG. okay, noted
he need them only because he doesn’t want to be involved, that’s all. he still want to be neutral, but he is actually helping them right now. not very neutral.
he isn’t specialized in taking fortress either, but yet…
he need them now, so what? if the time isn’t good that mean he failed. because he is urged by time doesn’t mean the situation in PRG has changed, it’s completely unrelated to them. it’s not an argument.
And who know if he won’t need them in a few years?

      2. @ red colonel
I don’t really see the point of this? Makoto is constrained by time : this whole thing was basically a favor for Rembrandt. I think Makoto himself did not care about Tsige, his priority will always be Asora and he basically helped Tsige beacause he owed Rembrandt. He can’t quite use his own force since he don’t know how the goddess will react he himself know he is not quite ready for that confrontation. So the time limit is not really his, it was Tsige’s and more importantly Rembrandt’s.
Also the origin reason is kinda thin? It basically boils down to we are helping our friend who is helping their friend who tried to help their friend but because you killed that friend’s friend’s friend we are going to help them trying to kill you, I mean what?
About Hibiki, your Scenario has a lot of lack of information to judge it objectively. Why is the guy trying to kill Hibiki? how essential is the clan for the war effort? Why is the negotiator has to be hibiki when in Makoto case it was because they might be the only one with enough firepower to be able to meet them in the first place. If you are trying to recruit the clan what is the point of slaughtering them?

        1. ” Makoto is constrained by time”
time doesn’t mean shit. ‘time’ doesn’t make things more right or wrong.
he is actually supporting the revolt, tho
“Why is the guy trying to kill Hibiki?”
hibiki was right, and the guy was wrong. no need to specify the reason.
“how essential is the clan for the war effort? ”
          how is it relevant?
“Why is the negotiator has to be hibiki when in Makoto case it was because they might be the only one with enough firepower to be able to meet them in the first place.”
same for makoto, why does it have to be him? he isn’t the only one that can go there.
“If you are trying to recruit the clan what is the point of slaughtering them?”
that’s precisely what I am asking.

          1. Okay now you are being a contrarian, time means everything, it means Makoto can’t wait anymore and has to force the other party into the negotiation table.
This is relevant because depending on their war potential, it might be not worth it to negotiate with them pass a certain threshold.
No need for reason? Wow, I don’t even…
Yes Makoto is the only one that can go to where the picnic is, that is tied to Tsige rebellion within the time constraint, great I am talking in circle here.
And I am asking where does this come from? Makoto has NO plan to kill anyone, not the apple not the picnic hell not even the girl that is arguably the instigator for this whole mess.
Listen I get you are irked by the people who wanted Makoto to go berserk when that is literally the worst case Scenario, but what is the point you are trying to argue really?

          2. time doesn’t matter in the sense that it’s only related to makoto’s side. if their agenda doesn’t match, it’s too bad but makoto’s failed. If he decide to take risks becasue he is pressured by time, it just mean he take risks, but it doesn’t change anything from PRG’s pov.
No need for a SPECIFIC reason. The result is: the guy was wrong, hibiki was right. I don’t need to write the whole equation to give you the result (tbw you don’t even)
makoto isn’t the only one who can reach them. tsige had among the best adventurer in the world, if all member off PRG were able to reach the 20th floor, I think it’s unlikely that tsige doesn’t hold any person able to.
the point was for people wanting makoto to kill them all.
I wanted to bring another perspective, that don’t think it was the most “peaceful” and “nice” move to willingly jump in the ambush to fight, and that I disagree with people saying makoto should kill everybody after storming their base.

          3. I don’t think anyone actually thought Makoto move was nice and peaceful? I mean they are are fighting each other right now. Everyone is too stubborn in this mess : Makoto who did not want to return without being able to negotiate face to face at least once, the Apple leader who did not have any good reason to at least meet with the Kuzunoha privately to state their intention instead of relying on third party and the origin who should at least tried to be a mediator instead.
I am going to end this. Thank you, I get your point now but using the Hibiki analogue is really pointless in my opinion and detract from the point you are trying to make. I also disagree about killing Picnic since it defeat the purpose of them going there in the first place. cheers mate.

      3. Stop arguing guys… Nothing will come out of this. We just have to wait for the author to explain his choice of development.
There must be a satisfying reason for going so far to get help from Picnic. It was a request from a country leader, remember? Let’s leave it at that and wait for further chapter before jumping the ship.

        1. I think it’s fine to let them argue. I’ve found that, at least for me, the more thought on the story is stimulated, the more quickly we’re able to absorb new information relevant to it every chapter.
It’s like we’re constantly building a few opposing models of understanding and every chapter either adds to it or chips away assumptions.

          1. Rather than having my friends argue with each other, I feel like putting all data of the novel in the computer and run simulations to find the most likely ending of TsukiMichi. Like what scientists do with all the blackhole data.

      4. Lastly, who is to say that Apple and PRG won’t go after Makoto later if he decided to stay away? If Pione wished for it, they might target Makoto later on.
I wouldn’t risk that if I were Makoto.
Makoto also said that he is getting a bad feeling and that he needs to hurry before Aznoval comes back. If they don’t settle things now, the resentment might grow stronger over time.

        1. “who is to say that Apple and PRG won’t go after Makoto later if he decided to stay away?”
dungeon master said to wait for the situation to calm down.
and there is no proof that they would attack either.
Let’s nuke Gritonia, they are too dangerous. I wouldn’t risk that if I were Makoto.
Limia is the country with the biggest faith for the godess and lead by hibiki. let’s nuke them, I wouldn’t risk that if I were Makoto.
The demon are incredibly sly, vicious and manipulative. let’s nuke them, I wouldn’t risk that if I were Makoto.
Aion’s king make retaliate against kuzunoha for supporting the revolt. let’s murder him, I wouldn’t risk that if I were Makoto.
People keep saying the reason is too weak for PRG to attack, the resentment of something weak wont grow with time

    4. Wow somehow I feel like you @redcolonel are the only one here who is not a hot headed Makoto and Mio fanatic who hates everyone who doesn’t devote himself wholeheartedly to Makoto and maybe dares to have own opinoions and agendas.
Is seems like you try to look at this situation from both sides with an objective viewpoint and you are doing pretty well but forget to discuss with fanatics they will always be on MC-kuns side no matter what he does or if he is right or wrong.
I think that you are a bit older than most of them and can understand what I mean.
      For the others.
Just imagine someone in the same situation as Makoto now invading Asora fully armed after getting warned by Shiki to not come because they want to recruit Kuzonaha and start torturing Makoto and Tomoe to break their will so that they comply to them.
Would Makoto be the asshole in this situation for not just obeying to their will ?

      1. what the fuck are you talking about? how is that analogy anything like whats happening now? who is Makoto torturing? rescuing a company? did some asora residents go crazy and try to kill the people invading?
you’re not even making a similar argument, you’re just bullshiting.

      2. “how is that analogy anything like whats happening now?”
        >> “Just imagine someone in the same situation as Makoto” There it is, the same situation. Just because the sides turned doesn’t mean it’s a different situation.
        “who is Makoto torturing?”
        >>It was Makotos idea to break their will so that they accept their request. Torturing is a valid way for it like for example Mio torturing a certain guy who is supposed to be ‘rude’.
But you guys think that it would be way easier to just kill them all and destory the dungeon to win them over for Tsige. This Logic.
        “rescuing a company?”
        >> ?
“did some asora residents go crazy and try to kill the people invading?”
        >> “Just imagine someone in the same situation as Makoto”
But I really have to thank you for your hot headed unmature tantrum which just approves my text.
        Please go on.

  34. If Makoto wasn’t too beta and carefree, he could just ramp up his Magic Armor defense and use that time to focus his visualization-realization technique to shoot arrows through all of his enemies’ hearts. Either they’re really immortal and they’ll eventually revive, or they’re not immortal and they’ll die. Either way, he only needs Picnic Garden and not the Adventurers of Origin anyway.

    1. they refuse to ocooperate because makoto killed a friend of a member of picnic rose garden.
you want makoto to kill people even more important to them to make them cooperate.
I think there is a very big flaw in your plan.
if you think you have to be stupid and trigger happy to be ‘alpha’, it’s bad news.

      1. And you think beating every single one of his attackers to the point of near death and then healing them would somehow make them friends? The situation is effed up. There is no easy solution to it since the friend of that dead girl became crazy and is clearly hellbent on revenge. But there is always an easy mode and a hard mode, and no matter how we look at it, Makoto’s just being arrogant by needlessly choosing hard mode. There are much easier ways in which he could’ve resolved all of this — pussyfooting because he’s “strong” is just blind optimism.

        1. Remember that Makoto is a naive but loveable fuck. He is just a seedling unable to think too far ahead (most of the time, and yes he is trying to change). Makoto is constrained by time, that one girl who is hellbent on revenge have a giant ego (based on what we know of that girl) and didn’t even want to listen to Makoto and co, plus with Makoto’s big bad luck title… what do ya expect? Nevertheless I’m still enjoying the story~

        2. not killing them would work way better than killing them though
but, yeah, he should have backed off long ago, like how he was advised to

  35. Take some more
    Dragon meatballs
Cause the chef told me ‘make more’
    Take some more
    Dragon meatballs
    I made much more anyway
    That damm chef right
    Look like a slave dealeeeeer.
Put more meat in my fucking plate.
    Everyone said that to me.
In a place of the kitchen I’m cryi-i–ing.
Make more mushroom sauce for me.
    I’m want more spaghetti.
Oh please guys, just help me-e-e-e.
My hands hurt for mincing the meat.
I want just run away from this fucking place.
If I have a flying orca, I’m ask for a ride.
    Please give me a break.
Enough for my and my dragon ball opening parodie.
As you can guess, the dragon meatballs are on high demand whit my workmates and I’m on charge of cooking… whit no help at all!!!
So take another “Dragon meatball” dish as my tribute for the chapters.
In times like this I wish I have my heavy-ma-shotgun in hand… but since I kill the chef and the other ones that make the clean-up, it’s better the all mighty punch-in-the-stomach.
The only good thing for me it’s… now I can have a seat inside the kitchen due to my sickness.
    Thanks for your work.

    1. That was a Dragonball opening song parodie ? Was that supposed to be sung like ‘Head Cha-la’ ?
      I love that !
Well, I’m glad that you’re in good shape and able to work again. 🙂
Anyway, the Dragon Ballmeat became popular huh? It must’ve really taste good. Otherwise, I can imagine your co-workers and customers ordering some and sitting in front of the plate, making wishes from Shenron for things like:
“Please raise my salary!” … or
“Please make senpai notice me!” … or
“Curse that chef for overworking us!” … wait, that was you Amber.
      lol
I wish I can fly to you, knock on your window and take you out of there. We’d go to another world, sightseeing fantasy places and trying the exotic foods…
For now, we’re both unable to. Let’s just say that we’re chained to life and soon we’ll break free.
      http://oi63.tinypic.com/1z52i53.jpg

      1. It’s a parodie for the “first Dragon ball” you know, when goku it’s a child.
And yes, many customers are asking for the dragon meatballs to become a part of the everyday menu… but I don’t want to have three hour only to mince meat and fry octopus. I only did that because I want to try a new recipe for meatballs and I have a lot of ingredients… meaby I just dig my own grave (I want to slap my past-self).
I’m thankful because I can work. And the jealousy of my workmates are feeding my heart. It’s hard to work eight hours stand… and I can stay in a seat that time!
Meaby when we go isekai, I found some ingredients to make a new dish my friend.

          1. I watch the entire series of Dragonball Z but I was never able to watch all of Dragon. I never did watch any of Dragon GT.

          2. Well you lose nothing by not watching GT even more know with the Super series taking GT out of the coninuity.

          3. Oh man. That melody is super nostalgic on top of being just plain good.
I’m still hoping for TeamFourStar to release a cover of them just scat singing the entire song.

  36. Yeah, that’s not a trick that’s going to work twice. Resisting forced teleportation is one of the first tricks Makoto learned. Still careless, considering what he knows about who he’s fighting. He could have been put in lava.

    1. I’m pretty sure Makoto doesn’t mind lava. Didn’t he end up diving into some magma back when he went hot spring digging?
He and Serwhale brushed it off because they’re insane, but I’m pretty sure that happened.

    2. he’ll just be the ever naive, stupid and retarded MC
never learning from past mistakes and never preparing for a fight or seeking stronger firepower

  37. pretty sure he wasn’t talking about minecraft when he said a “retro game” that made him want throw his controller at his tv. there’s a console minecraft port i think, but it’s not retro and the dev didn’t plan that as part of the game in minecraft AFAIK. you guys are too young.

  38. Thanks for the chapter.
These two last chapter have been really disappointing and frustrating. With the way things have been going up til now, them actually managing to do anything against Makoto makes no sense. Unless he is severely liming his power.

  39. Probably its “Bind Word” since its type Magic to bind a Spell users, and I was wondering if Sakai is actually “Sight”, since its give an information toward surrounding.

    1. I have already caught up with the author. The scenario there was a hypothetical one when the author releases several chapters faster than I can translate them (which is highly unlikely).
So no, there hasn’t been new chapters in that span of time.
A new chapter was posted recently and I will be publishing it today.
P.S: Don’t try to assume things, please, research first and don’t go doing baseless accusations.

      1. When I posted this my phone said that there were two new chapters out but it didn’t say when they came out so I had thought that you were not caring anymore which is my bad since my experience with translators tend to just drop stuff without saying anything which is my bad for assuming thing but thanks for keeping up the translation and I’m not trying to. Make up and excuse but my day at work has been crappy as hell so I wanted to rant but had nowhere else to it so I’m sorry for the bad assumption
