WR – Chapter 165-166: The calamity doesn’t end

“And so, where is that egg-san?” (Haine)

“At the bottom of this Rudras Metropolis’ base. I made it so it wouldn’t be possible to find it in normal circumstances, but I am an exception. They can’t hide anything from me.” (Shiva)

Well, you are the very God that created them after all.

We continue talking about this situation that would normally be quite troublesome without the God himself guiding.

“…But what should we do about the girls there? Bringing them with us is a bit…” (Haine)

“We can just make a random reason to move on our own. I am the Wind Founder, you know. I am in a position that can order people around.” (Shiva)

That’s true, but after rampaging as much as you wanted, it is a bit hard to swallow that you are actually a Founder, you know.

But even so, we will be going there to cut off the last line that Beelzebub left, the obvious questions that Karen-san and company would ask would be ‘What is that egg?’ ‘How did you find it?’ which are the obvious questions that will come, and trying to answer them would be a pain.

“……Haine-san, Haine-san.” (Karen)

“Yes, this is Haine.” (Haine)

Is what I was thinking when Karen-san spoke to me.

“U-Uhm, what is that egg?” (Karen)

Eh?

From the mouth of Karen-san, the question that would be incredibly troublesome if asked had come out.

Why now?

I thought that she would ask of this when we have moved to a different place though?

“?!!”

I turn at the strangeness of that question, and there really was an egg.

It was floating in the air.

I could tell at one glance that it was giving vibes different from that of a chicken egg. It had a more soft membrane-looking shell; an insect egg.

And as if it had telekinetic powers, it was floating in the air.

Its surface was completely green, like that of an emerald, and a transparency that felt as if it was breed underwater.

And so…

“Oi…could it be that’s the Green Emperor Egg?” (Haine)

“Y-Yeah! But why is it at a place like this?! In order for the Green Emperor Egg to not be caught in the eye of anyone, I hid it at the shadows of the base of Rudras Metropolis. The size as well! It is an egg to give birth to Beelzebub, you know? It should be as big as the tip of the pinky finger!” (Shiva)

But we were able to notice the egg that is floating right now in front of our very eyes immediately, and I can even feel an ominousness that is overwhelming.

This size is enough to hold a whole human inside.

“…Kuromiya Haine! Attack the Green Emperor Egg!! If it’s your dark matter, you should be able to return anything to nothingness!” (Shiva)

“Why me?! You can do it. You know everything about that thing, right?!” (Haine)

“And I have judged that the best way is to use your dark matter! Or more like, I also don’t understand this situation! Like hell I would be able to finish off that disgusting thing with my own hands!” (Shiva)

“This bastard spilled out his real feelings!” (Haine)

In the time Shiva and I were making a ruckus, the situation progressed.

Probably to the worst path.

“…Who are you?”

That voice send shivers down the spine of Shiva, Karen-san, Hyue, and I.

“That voice just now…” (Karen)

“It wasn’t the voice of anyone here, right? Then, just now was—!!” (Haine)

From that egg?

“Right back at you! Just what are you?!”

As if by reflex, someone asked back.

“I… who am I?”

The egg asks once more.

But that question was not directed at anyone; it was a question directed at itself.

“I see… so mother died. That’s why I will be born. I will move towards the fate that has been established for me.”

The egg that was covered in a dark green membrane began to flicker.

Something was about to happen.

“I have been thinking for a long time. Why were we born?”

“What?!”

“For all living beings, there should be a reason for their birth. There should be meaning in their life. I was thinking of that reason. As I thought of this, several thousands to millions of my brethrens died. There was no point in us.”

The flickering sensation of the egg steadily became stronger.

The light itself increased in potency.

“We were born pointlessly, and died pointlessly. I began to wonder, ‘aren’t we pointless from the very beginning?’. No no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no.”

As if displaying the emotions of the owner of that voice, the light became stronger.

…Emotions?

“We are also alive. We are alive, so we have to do something. I have been thinking. I have been thinking all this time. As I continued my thinking, mother gave birth to me.”

A cracking noise resounded.

The sound of something breaking.

At the same time as that happened, a single tear ran through the giant green egg.

“In order to find the answer, just thinking about it won’t make the answer appear. I must take action. In order to take action, I need a body. A body that is the strongest and the mightiest. That is me. I who was given birth by my demonic mother.”

From the crack that ran at the middle of the egg, something was coming out from it.

Wings?

Butterfly wings?!

“I was born for the sake of leading all of the demonic beings. I was born from a demonic mother in order to give meaning to the demonic beings that had pointless flesh and received pointless deaths. My demonic mother poured all of her life into me, and gave birth to me.”

The dark green eggshell broke in several small pieces, and what was inside was revealed.

It was a child.

A child that was small in height.

He looked like a child that had nothing strange at all, but there was a single thing that was abnormal. From his back, he had butterfly wings of erratic design.

And then, the child speaks.

He continues the words he had been speaking of until now.

“After a hundred years, we demons have obtained the ability to think, and seek for meaning. I am the means for that end, the means for that step. In order to lead my brethrens that still hold no soul to what lies further beyond, I have been born to become their Lord. In other words, I am…”

He is…!

“The Demon Lord.”

He continued.

“I am the Wind Demon Lord, Raphael. That is my name, my meaning, and what I have to do.” (Raphael)

  • 166: Birth of a Demon

Wind Demon Lord, Raphael.

This mysterious child that suddenly appeared certainly did introduce himself as so.

His look is indeed small and frail, a child with a pure face you could find anywhere, but the butterfly wings that spread from his back were abnormal. Moreover, he came out from the egg that was called Green Emperor Egg.

Originally, that egg should have given birth once again to the Wind Mother Monster, Beelzebub, right?

“Are you…a monster?” (Shiva)

The one who asked this of the child the fastest was Shiva.

“…Monster. That is how the humans call us. I -Raphael- if asked if I am a monster or not, I only have one answer… that’s right.” (Raphael)

At that answer, everyone here had their skin shiver.

“I am the one who was born to become the leader of the wind element monsters, Demon Lord Raphael.” (Raphael)

“Impossible!” (Shiva)

Shiva shouts as if in madness.

“A monster has taken the form of a human and can speak?! There’s no way a monster with such intelligence exists! I have not ma—!!!” (Shiva)

Saying until that part, Shiva’s mouth shuts.

There’s Karen-san and Hyue close by. He must have felt that he needed to be careful with his words as the Wind God Quasar.

“…Foolish human. All things face vicissitudes. They don’t stay at one state of being. From that change, they will look at higher heights, and walk the path of evolution. Don’t think that is a privilege of only you humans. That’s nothing but arrogance.” (Raphael)

The Demon Lord that calls himself Raphael says this as if spitting those words out.

“We monsters also evolve and walk forward. And the result is as you see before your eyes. The Demon Lord Raphael. My mother, Beelzebub, lived for close to a hundred years, and after experiencing several thousands to millions to billions of experiences, she obtained the ability to think, she obtained sentience. And so, she began to question what we were, and for what reason we exist.” (Raphael)

“What…did you say?!” (Shiva)

From the looks of Shiva’s shock, I can tell that not even the God himself was expecting this.

“And so, the Mother Monster had reached a temporary conclusion: ‘I can’t reach the answer myself’. That’s why mother gave birth to me. The next generation in order to obtain the answer. The parents ask, and the child answers. That is the basis of evolution for living beings. Therefore, I will be the bearer of a new era for us monsters. I will fulfill that duty.” (Raphael)

“What are you planning on doing?” (Haine)

This time, I ask Raphael.

It was so sudden, moreover, a situation that was so unexpected, my thoughts had still not caught on yet. Even so, I have no choice but to understand it. I have to know what it is that will be occurring from now on.

By the way, Karen-san and Hyue were completely unable to follow and were staring blankly.

“You will become the one who guides monsters, you will create a new era for the monsters; I understand that. But what is it you are going to do exactly in order to reach that objective of yours? Do you have a plan?” (Haine)

“Of course.” (Raphael)

The Demon Lord Raphael says.

“We exterminate you humans.” (Raphael)

A shock ran through my body.

From the mysterious and unknown existence, hostility was directed at us for the first time.

“In the first place, we monsters have been given that duty by some unknown being. ‘Oppose humans’, ‘Attack humans’. I don’t know from who this order is, but since the moment we were born, it has been edged deep down in our self. We act with that as our base of action.”

“That is—!!” (Shiva)

Shiva wanted to say something, but Raphael ignored it and continued.

“In this surface world, there’s no need for two supreme rulers. That’s why, we will carry out the duty that is edged deeply inside our self for our own sake. We will eradicate the humans, and when the world has become ours completely, the meaning of our existence should be visible.” (Raphael)

The butterfly wings at the back of Raphael spread.

And then, they flap.

With just that simple action, four tornadoes were created from all four sides of Raphael.

“Wa?!”

“Evade it, it is dangerous!” (Haine)

“Kyaaaa!!!”

We were flustered by the rampaging tornadoes, but their target wasn’t us. The tornadoes move as they undulated, and scatter to their respective directions.

“To begin with, let’s destroy the city that is at my feet. Without leaving a single one alive, without leaving a single piece of rubble behind. Turning everything related to humans to ashes, we will use that as the foundation stone for the new era of us monsters!” (Raphael)

“Rudras Metropolis is—!!” (Haine)

This is bad.

All the tornadoes that Raphael released are calamity class. What it swallows, whether it is human or a building, it will mow it down.

Is it exactly because he was born from the Wind Mother Mother, and he himself is calling himself the Wind Demon Lord that he is able to show power in such shape?

But even so, being able to create four tornadoes of such power is abnormal.

Managing such feat in one flutter is not possible for humans or monsters.

His power…is already stepping into the realm of Gods?!

“You bastard!!!” (Shiva)

Shiva kicks the ground, and faces Raphael who is suspended in mid-air with his big wings.

Unsheathing his Wind Twin Guns, Fuuma Koutarou, he fired air bullets, but they were stopped by an invisible wall.

“A wall of air?! Don’t underestimate me!!” (Shiva)

Being hit multiple times by the wind twin guns, the wall of air was destroyed, and Shiva closed onto Raphael.

“Stop it! Stop it right now!! The ones who ordered you monsters to attack humans were the Gods! But the Gods didn’t wish for humans to be eradicated! What you are trying to do is a deviation of duty!!” (Shiva)

“Gods… The ones you humans call the five Gods of Creation? Idiotic. What about it?” (Raphael)

Raphael’s attitude was cold.

“No matter who was the one who ordered us, we were the ones who decided on destroying the humans. It was our will. Deciding on your own actions is a natural privilege of living beings. Even if your Gods are our creators as well, they can’t violate our privilege!!” (Raphael)

“Guwaaa?!!” (Shiva)

The squall that Raphael caused blew away Shiva.

Right before Shiva hit the floor, I caught him.

“Are you okay?!” (Haine)

Now that it has come to this, there’s no choice but for me to defeat that guy.

Demon Lord, Raphael.

He is a clear threat to humans. If we don’t defeat him here, the harm he will create will spread far!

“Wait, Haine!” (Shiva)

Shiva must have felt my killing intent, he stopped me.

“I will defeat him. As the one responsible for creating him, I will!” (Shiva)

“But…!” (Haine)

Shiva created the wind element monsters as the Wind God Quasar, and it is true that as a result, the Demon Lord Raphael has been born.

That’s why, it is not as if I don’t understand how you feel. But even so, right now you have incarnated as a human, and are in complete tatters because of our fight today.

There’s no way you would have the remaining strength to oppose Raphael who is close to being comparable to a God!

“The tornadoes are…! Beginning to spread!” (Shiva)

Just as Shiva said, the four tornadoes that Raphael released have already destroyed the buildings of the Wind Church, and they are about to step into the urban area of Rudras Metropolis.

Those things that have been created from the divine power of the Demon Lord will surely destroy Rudras Metropolis without losing any strength as it moves.

Not only the buildings of the city, there are also many lives there.

“The only one who can stop those tornadoes is you who controls dark matter. I will take care of things here. That’s why, I leave my people…in your care!!” (Shiva)

“Shiva!” (Haine)

“Please!!” (Shiva)

I try to keep my expression from crumbling as I jump away.

First, from the closest tornado.

Even if it’s a natural disaster that is comparable to that of the wrath of a God, in front of me, they are not a problem at all.

I will deal with this as soon as possible and return.

I leave things to you until I return, Guardian of the wind people!!

          1. Actually I was hunting wild nepu and seinvolf in another webnovels
And it seems they are everywhere that it…feel …uneasy

  1. .
     ∧__∧
    ( ´・ω・`) (○) Thanks….
    ,( ヽ∩∩ノ),、ヽ|〃,,, Nepu……..
    “““ ““ ““ ““ ““ ““ ““ “““

    1. i totally agree!! i mean the only other sentient life that was created was humans with the power of the 6 gods combined BUT this one evolved and gained sentience by itself showing that quaser is a class apart

      1. i dont think its mentioned anywhere that entropy created them specifically(?) i mean it is said that everything is born from darkness and he is the first(iirc) god but its not directly mentioned anywhere like in this. so i cannot say your argument is wrong but i doubt its completely correct @the person who is delusional

    1. If you think about it, the definitions of “life” are probably a bit more…iffy in this universe.

An origin story to demons (monsters). I really like it, honestly.

    1. Beelzebub, a demon, prince of hell, sin of gluttony, lord of the flies, and fallen angel, was a former archangel.

by the way Raphael is the archangel supposed the announce destruction of the world with his trumpet (and the death of all creatures), and then judgement days.

  2. Uwaah. A Demon Lord was born of Mother Monsters.

…So, uh…I’m less interested in how this disaster will turn out than I am in how this is going to throw the gods for a loop. Again.

Now something really bad has come of their stupidity. Beelzebub’s race gained sentience first because it was able to experience the most life at once. But what of the other Mother Monsters?

The Phoenix might in itself become a Demon Lord if it’s reborn enough times, but that’s probably still some time away. The bigger problem would probably be a Water Demon Lord, since fish reproduce on a similar scale to insects. Grandma Wood and her golems have even lower personal will, so I think we can rule them out.

…Also, I honestly kinda dig this sort of motivation for Demon Lords. To find their own purpose for existence while following their designed instincts.

    1. I was expecting there’s more to this than meets the eye.

Evolution itself even in a fantasy world is really gonna happen and worst of it all coming from monsters. In this kind of way, mankind gonna soon cut off their faith in the Five Churches of the Gods and that gonna make a successful thing that Haine wants as humans no longer dwell on the Gods.

I think the Phoenix the Fire Mother Monster would certainly gained sentience and borne Demon Lords as well including the Water Mother Monster. To that Mother Monster from the Water God, worst come possibly inheriting it’s creator nasty thoughts and evilish thinking. And for Grandma Wood, you could no longer say about that as its already dead, sucked and destroyed by Haine’s Dark Matter ‘Black Hole’.

In which humans lead by themselves or Heroes or by the Gods, eventually monsters too would have their own leader lead by a Demon Lords. Demon Lords in other fantasy novels are not only to lead demons or nonhuman races but also monsters as well.

      1. What sort of crazy evolutionary circumstances would even produce something like a manticore, I wonder?

Hmm. If you think of the classic Demon Lord vs. Hero dynamic, this world’s Heroes are kind of…weaksauce, aren’t they?

It depends on how future appearances of Demon Lords will go, but some divine blessings or something might be needed if we want humanity to fend for itself.

    1. Oh damn it! And here I was thinking the whole time about how this is the birth of Meruem!
I completely forgot to comment it!
I must now commit sudoku! T_T

  3. I’m getting real sick and tired of Haine just standing there watching the bad guy monologue/evolve/whatever and not doing anything. Let Quasar slip away after defeating him, let beelzebub spawn instead of doing something, let Mantle start doing crazy shit without stopping her. He’s kinda annoyingly slow on the uptake…

    1. Really? I think his reaction was pretty acceptable as a God.

At first, Haine was joking around with Shiva about who to kill it because it was gross. That was indeed a legit mistake. A mistake that came out from knowing how weak Beelzebub is on its own.

But the moment it spoke, that was the clincher. As a God, I really think their reaction was legit how a creator would act. They created life, and hearing the voice of a sentient being that they haven’t given a will to would definitely catch their interest.

Haine listened to his talk, and was seriously considering to let him live. He did ask ‘But what is it you are going to do exactly in order to reach that objective of yours? Do you have a plan?’, depending on his answer, he would have probably let him live with supervision of some sort.

All in all, it might have been a mistake. But Haine or Shiva legit didn’t know if that guy was actually a ‘bad guy’. And in terms of reaction, it is definitely how a God would react, or more like, how a creator would act.

      1. They were astonished at first and tried to commence ‘first contact’.

That’s what good guys (gods) would do.

… normal people will probably just kill it with fire on first sight.

      2. Definitely.

I think the big point about gods that’s been driven into this story very hard by the author is that they’re bad at seeing beyond their own views.

…okay, that sounds stupid when I put it like that, but that’s the best way to put it. Gods are, as creators, supposed to be aware of everything. When you’re the only being that can “add” to the world, it’s normal to expect everything you see in the world to be something you recognize.

So when something contradicts that, when something suddenly exists on its own that you’re certain you didn’t put there, you’re going to be extremely confused-far more than a normal human would be surprised, even.

        1. Agree with you there… but still irritated nonetheless.

Doesn’t Haine’s love for humans alarm ring or anything? I mean if I encounter a big green talking egg… I would either shoot it with any gun I have in my possesion (if I have any) or run as far as I can while looking back from time to time (because of curiosity). Granted I am not a god but… well… can’t help feeling irritated.

      3. Can’t deny what you said clicked with me and my reasoning for a moment, but still…

(Brace your self for a long read, I did my best to put my view into words)

Following the common sense of their world, “Monsters=Danger”

While in our world, “Wild Animals=Danger”

Although We can’t compare the two as perfect examples to parallel one another, we can still safely put them in the same category, Survival Instinct Which was forged upon thousands of thousands of years before humans reach the stage we currently in, this shouldn’t be any different from the humans in that world (assuming the humans there follow the same patterns as what science believed we did.)

If for example I encounter a talking wild animal in the middle of the city after a big fight, still tense from all the conflicts The brain would certainly strain it self trying to make sense of what’s happening, thus making me staring dumb-foundedly at that wild animal.

Then if the animal start talking about “Finding its meaning of existence”… my brain, or more specifically my survival instinct would send danger signs all over my body. Why? because it knows that the animal is cornered, mentally.

By no circumstances any sentient beings who questioned their own existence are not cornered. Such line of thinking it self is proof that their mental fortitude are crumbling due to either stress or some kind of a shock.

Do not mistake this line of thinking as the same as teenagers act of self discovery. It is in a much different level than that.

To not know… to not be in control could be said as a sentient being greatest Fear. The realization of not knowing anything about one self. That, it do not know any information that it can use to re-assure it self that everything will be alright (To put it simply) can and will push the mind to its edge. And during this state that being could do some DRASTIC measure to assertain it self… and unshockingly… murder/killing/genocide are in the list of things it might do.

The brain would instinctively know the danger it’s in (because the aforementioned fear is already ingrained in, say, our code) and promptly execute the “Fight or Flight Response”. And that means you either run, or fight through with force.

Okay… I tried to make this as simple as possible. I hope what I want to say is properly conveyed… Hahaha…

  4. *The butterfly wings at the back of Raphael spread.

    And then, they flap.

With just that simple action, four tornadoes were created from all four sides of Raphael*

    hahaha the butterfly effect XD
i get the joke here flap his wings and we get tornadoes XDD
ok so did anyone want to watch the Final Boss in Persona 3? become damn i read Raphael words in Nyx Avatar voice *we are the mean of the end* so badass

anyway going to rant a bit here about the stupidity of our MC
Shiva say kill the big evil green egg before hatching and what our MC doing?
he say OMG IT TALK O.O let have a chat with him before it hatch 😀

oh my god wtf with his head

    1. It’s perfectly normal. That you’re unable to see things from Haine’s/Shiva’s perspective is other thing. Just read the comment of Reigokai a bit over yours. There he explains it to someone who thought just like you, and Psychronia further add to it.

  5. Ok so I have a question. When that egg suddenly showed up, when it started babbling about existential bullshit, when it started hatching, when it introduced itself like a cheesy third rate villain, when it said it was going to DESTROY ALL HUMANS…. what the FUCK was everyone doing?! They stood around like retards gawking at the time bomb in front of them wondering how it got there and what it was doing while the fucking timer hit zero!!

Would any one of you fine fellow readers do what these morons in the story did? Would you stand around and make jokes while a horribly dangerous thing happened in front of you that you HAD THE POWER TO STOP BEFORE THE SHIT HIT THE FAN?!

I’m really disappointed in the author for this chapter. Everything has been pretty good up until now. Despite being naive to a fault, Haine has always been decisive in his actions. This glaring and painfully forced lapse in his(and everyone else’s) judgement and lack of a proper reaction despite knowing how dangerous the situation was is disappointing. It’s so inconsistent with Haine’s character that it was difficult to read this chapter without breaking my nose from facepalming.

TL:DR – This chapter was ridiculous and idiotic. Suddenly demon lord(because reasons) who is stronger than a god(because reasons) shows up no one does shit about it until it punches them in the face(because reasons). Fucking seriously?

    1. I’m pretty sure I’d have a wait-and-see approach up until it announced its hostility to humans.

Before the egg spoke, Haine and Shiva didn’t realize it was a threat in itself.

Before Raphael announced his intentions to wipe out humanity, it was a bizarre new sentient being that gods who value potential like Entropy and Quasar would at least want to try to comprehend before jumping to killing.

And after the tornado were released, Haine was relegated to damage control at Shiva’s request. Shiva had trouble with it because:
      1. He was injured because of the mess that came before.
      2. He was using Wind on a Wind Demon Lord-effectively the strongest mortal in terms of Wind Divine power.
      3. Quasar still had the form of Shiva, meaning he was limited by a physical body. It was mentioned earlier that using a God’s full power is beyond a human body’s capacity.

The point here is that Raphael isn’t stronger than a god. He’s stronger than a human body’s (or at least Shiva’s body’s) capacity for power.

  6. Uwaaa…The story had turned into a strange way.
Maybe, it just a possibility, the author just realized his story will be end very soon. I mean, with Haine join hand with Shiva who had vast intelligence network, the problem with the Mother Monster will be easily solved. So, the author needs to add another element on the story, that is a demon lord.

It just that, this demon lord just came out of nowhere and truly unexpected. To begin with, I never expected for a demon lord to show up in this story.

    1. Seriously?
There Heroes to this story. Yeah its very clear their duty to protect the people and kill monsters but one missing ingredient for their purpose such alone and that is in every fantasy stories, greatest foe is Demon Lords who ruled upon nonhuman race (sadly none in here) and monsters.

    2. To add to what the person above wrote, I don’t think it’s “out of nowhere”, either. Think about it; Beelzebub was one being, but at the same time, it was billions. That thing had lived the most long live in the shortest time, for saying something. Out of every monster shown so far, beelzebub was the most likely one to gain sentience.

  7. Thanks for the chapters Reigokai!

Damn a demon lord. And one with a power close to a God, at that. Still, in fantasy, it’s Heroes duty to get ride of demon lords, so I wonder if in the end it will be Karen and the others the ones to defeat it, or it’ll be Haine and maybe the other Gods to do it. It also makes one wonder if there’ll be more demon lords for the fire and water element.

  8. duh Haine… When you decide to observe an unknown always be prepared to take action… Why didnt you destroy it at sight?

I know you’re a god and observing things is your hobby, also you want to know whether this new being is negotiable or not, but still… You hesitates too much dangit.

  9. I’m amazed they were all stupid enough to just sit, stare and let it be born….they even knew what it was and still allowed it :\

  10. For the love of crap, Haine! Lead with a decapitation strike for once! Deal with the secondary effects when the root cause isn’t actively making things worse.

  11. Thank you for the chapter~!

    -Rant Begin-

    (Apologies for the incoming words)

Now… THIS! THIS is the shit that I hate about Japanese light novels, or heck! Any kind of action Novels! How can the protagonist who CLEARLY knows that something is wrong just stand there and monologuing?! And don’t use the “Oh he is shocked and confused at what currently happening infront of his eyes” excuse! If he truly is is confused/shocked then there is no way he can spend the precious times doing several lines of monologues inside his head!!!

    -Rant Over-

There! rant over! now to another topic…

So a demon lord has awakened? The awakening seems out of nowhere. There is not a single build up towards it at all or is it just me? Haine hasn’t meet any kind of demons that have any kind of hint towards them developing a concience, nor he recieved any report regarding sentient monsters.

Disregarding the matter of no build up at all, this is certainly a good development. The world will now have another major threat other than the mother monsters and their children. Now there is a demon lord or possibly Demon Lords that pose a much more immidiate threat to humans. How will Haine and co handle this? I can’t wait to find out.

Though I am still irritated by that “Monologuing in the front of danger” trope… if Haine is a “Makoto Class Being” or MCB than it’s okay. Because he will possibly be able to tank anything that threat may throw at him, but Haine is no MCB. He is just a god inside a human, which makes him weaker than his god form.

God Protagonists around the world need to know the right time to “Think before you act” and “Behead first, consequence later.”

    1. i had to read and reread a few times to properly understand the definition of “makoto class being”
If u meant by being OP as hell then isnt haine a god in human shell.
I realized that u mean makoto’s OP defense. For that point, yeah its understandable. Well on a text medium, unless u state the actions or meaning of certain actions, almost no one will understand tho they will hav an idea what action is nx. well u wouldnt see it on manga or anime as its mainly stupid but in novel, reaction only will make the story weird, tho i do agree its also stupid of having a monologue in the middle of a pinch even when in real time, its within an instant.

    2. Okay, I think I read this complain one time too much. here I go.

if quazar tried to destroy the egg, but what birthed from it was a cute loli, quazar still saying it’s the mother monster and it’s too dangerous to keep it alive, but then haine decide to question her and he discover she is 2pure4thisWorld, and haine decide to protect her from quazar

I am pretty sure this comment section would be full of people trowing shit at quazar for wanting to kill the poor cute little shit, being cruel, and wanting to kill first and ask later.

      1. Ha!

But double-standards of moe aside, what if it was still Raphael, but he didn’t have hostility towards humans?

I think I could see a semi-debate going coming of that between camps of “this is another sentient being with potential” vs. “They were being stupid and naive for trusting this mother monster incarnation. They’re literally designed to attack humans, so they shouldn’t have taken the risk.”

        1. by the way, isn’t raphael a loli too? it didn’t struck me immediately, but raphael it the “mother” of the new generation, and is just a child. the sex wasn’t pointed out.
or maybe author make it genderless.

moral debate aside, I have prejudices against “demonic” little girl controlling insect monsters, so I won’t trust it.

      2. Yea, I realize that. No matter the outcome there are going to be someone that doesn’t like it.

That’s why i said that this is a good deveelopment after my rant is over. I personally like the outcome, Ijust dont like the monologue in the face of dangaer trope.

  12. “……Haine-san, Haine-san.” (Karen)
    “Yes, this is Haine.” (Haine)

—- again, huh? The author is obviously a fan of Konosuba. (or am I missing another reference?)

  13. Thanks for the chapter. Raphael question his existences reminds of the villain Mewtwo in the 1st Pokemon movie. Mewtwo question his own existences and decides to destroy the world because the cruelty of humanity did to him. But decided not to after the heroic act of the MC he decides to have change of heart. Raphael is not going to have a change of heart. But kind of hope he escapes so he can villain that will appear again in this series later on or in the final battle.
