QualiA – Epilogue: Apology

Two weeks have passed since the rebellion of the Bald Geezer.

The people at the city were scared to the extreme at this incident that began suddenly, but they were shocked at the fact that it was resolved in less than a day, and on the front it has regained peace. But no one wants to enter the places that were once the quarantined sectors. I don’t think there’s any idiot who would get close to a place where’s rumored that groans and footsteps can be heard every night, but if there is, it would be people like thieves. And in reality, in these two weeks, there’s been reports of casualties from the quarantined sectors increasing day by day, and this is making the head of the knights and guards hurt.

“…Did I work too much?” (Makoto)

I look back at these two weeks as I lie on the bed in my room.

When I went 1 week without sleep and rest working, the Queen and Niva-san got angry.

“…Aah, I was scolded.” (Makoto)

“Watching that aloof face is unbearable, Master.”

“Shaddup.” (Makoto)

The merciless voice of Phal reverberates in my head.

These two weeks I have been searching for trails of Makirus. If I don’t blow off steam every now and then, I will die.

“If you want to blow off steam, how about blowing it off in a different way? The white sticky type of—” (Phal)

“Don’t go into details! …Good grief, spare me those dirty jokes you do with a straight face.” (Makoto)

“I am sorry. Master’s skin covered sausage was—” (Phal)

“Gah!” (Makoto)

It isn’t covered! It has properly matured!

“Putting up a front isn’t healthy…” (Phal)

“Damn it! Don’t tease the pure heart of a man!” (Makoto)

Uuh, this so called maid. The fact that our hearts are connected is truly a pain.

My personal maid Erin is also busy doing various works, and lately we only see each other rarely. Is there any point of calling her my personal maid anymore? Well, there’s the need for public face here, so she is still working in name only as my personal maid.

Aah, I want to mofumofu the droopy ears of Erin…

“That’s because Master is tired. Normally, I wouldn’t be able to call from my side after all.” (Phal)

“Oh, that much?” (Makoto)

“Yes, it is incredibly clear. Master is lusting for my body and waiting eagerly for the time to attack me, but as always, Master really is spineless.” (Phal)

“Oi, don’t go fabricating my thoughts.” (Makoto)

Seriously, Phal really doesn’t break character, or more like, she is no longer reserved.

“If you so order, I could take your place in searching.” (Phal)

“So you say, but you can’t go far.” (Makoto)

“…That can be dealt with, with guts.” (Phal)

Guts won’t do shit.

Phal is using Shirayuki as her real body, so if she gets too far away, her strength decreases. If Phal herself holds Shirayuki the story would be different, but because Phal herself would be forcefully returned to the Shirayuki if she were to hold it, she can’t get faraway from my side.

But well, I honestly feel I don’t know what she would do if she were to escape my sight.

“I am resting today, so I will return to normal once I rest for a while.” (Makoto)

“I wonder who was the one who said that and messed up, ending bedridden for several days? Go ahead, answer in full name.” (Phal)

“I am sorry.” (Makoto)

Having precedence is tough.

“Let’s go eat something.” (Makoto)

“Yes.” (Phal)

It is already noon, so let’s go fill up our stomachs.

When I stood up for that, Toto ran up to my head with a ‘Mukyu’.

“Oh, you are going too?” (Makoto)

“Mukyu!”

With Toto hitting its front legs on my head, I decided on heading to the cafeteria with relaxed steps.

☆ ☆☆ ☆☆ ☆☆ ☆☆

I walk the corridor slowly and relaxed.

Toto was going ‘mukyu mukyu’ on my head in good mood while I turn the corridor, and there, I saw a familiar face walking this way.

“Are you going to go eat, Makoto?”

“Yeah. And what about you, Prime Minister-sama, what are you doing?” (Makoto)

“When you call me Prime Minister-sama, my back gets itchy.”

“Want me to give you an anti-itch medication?” (Makoto)

With that kind of conversation going, Dorui-san responds with a dry smile along with a sigh.

“It has already been two weeks, so how about getting used to it?” (Makoto)

“It has only been two weeks. There’s no way I would get used.” (Dorui)

WIth an attitude as if in disapproval, Dorui-san once again sighs.

Dorui-san has gone from white robe to the Prime Minister’s clothings due to the heated push of the King, and so, he has ranked up from personal doctor to Prime Minister.

This is an unprecedented case among unprecedented cases.

It can also be taken as there not being any other who can do it, but Dorui-san vehemently continued refusing. However, with the King and the Queen trying to convince him again and again, he finally accepted.

Of course, the nobles raised objections to this, but he will be taking over the work of the Bald Geezer, so there’s obviously going to be a lot of problems. Then, it would be best to have a cushion in between. As if making a turn in attitude, they accepted Dorui-san as Prime Minister.

I know that the King manipulated things in the shadows for it to go in this way. Despite appearances, he is unexpectedly sly himself. As expected of the King of a country. He has the ability to do good and evil, and he has plenty enough of the good side.

“Now that I think about it, the talk with the Empire has progressed?” (Makoto)

“…”

“Looks like it hasn’t, huh.” (Makoto)

Dorui-san frowns with a stern face, and sighs heavily.

“So they are still talking about disclosing the information of the hero summoning, huh.” (Makoto)

“They broke the national border laws, and yet, their demands are unreasonable. I don’t understand at all what they are thinking.” (Dorui)

I also don’t know at all.

“There’s the need to be careful of the movements of the Empire’s army, so there’s so much to do, I honestly am at a lost.” (Dorui)

“Yeah, it would be problematic if they were to move. Is there ‘grass’ in the Empire?” (Makoto)

“No, there was before, but…they were found, and only their head was sent to us.” (Dorui)

“What’s that. That’s quite in bad taste.” (Makoto)

“Yeah. It happened a number of times more afterwards, and His Majesty decided on having all the ‘grass’ in the Empire retire.” (Dorui)

How to say it, is the ‘grass’ of Motoyasu incompetent, or are the ones from the Empire better? I can’t tell. But is it possible to find ‘grass’ that easily?

“…Wasn’t that because of the Bald Geezer?” (Makoto)

“I wanted to ask, but because he was being controlled, he was not in a state where he could be properly questioned. So the truth is still hidden in darkness.” (Dorui)

So the secret was buried with him, huh.

“Aah, while we are at it…” (Dorui)

“Hm?”

“The Heroes were looking for you, Makoto.” (Dorui)

“Yuichi and the others?” (Makoto)

Hoh, I don’t remember having any plans with them today though?

“They will be departing on their journey in two weeks. How about passing the time together with them for a bit?” (Dorui)

Normally, the Heroes would be publicized grandly, but thanks to a lot of things happening, it was simply announced that the hero summoning had succeeded, and it was decided that they will be visiting each nation.

The one who didn’t agree with this was the Empire’s Emperor.

That’s already a disease. They sent an envoy once demanding the disclosure of the hero summoning, and the envoy was made to return while leaving behind words of ‘do you know what will happen if you refuse’ that sounded like a declaration of war.

That envoy was also an annoying one, but this in correlation tells about how crazy the Emperor is and it is a pain in the head.

“Hmm, I may look like this, but I do have a lot to do too.” (Makoto)

“I know, but it is better for you to learn to rely on others.” (Dorui)

But I am relying plenty on others though.

“I am. —Ah, by the way, the prince will be returning soon, right?” (Makoto)

“About that, it looks like it will take longer.” (Dorui)

“Oh, why?” (Makoto)

“A letter from the Beast King to His Majesty arrived, and it seems that problems occurred.” (Dorui)

Is it a family problem?

“Aah, could it be that he fears the diplomatic relationship will worsen because they didn’t do anything when the king was sick?” (Makoto)

“You really say stuff that are hard to say in a straight manner, Makoto. —But it is a bit different.” (Dorui)

Oya, so that wasn’t it.

“Can’t be dragging you into a problem between nations, but I feel like you will be sticking your head into it without knowing, so just in case, I will tell you. Don’t go worsening the situation, okay?” (Dorui)

“Please say more. Master has a habit of moving on his own when he is thinking hard on something.” (Phal)

“I see… But even if you warn him, he won’t listen, right?” (Dorui)

“Yeah.” (Phal)

“You’ve got it rough.” (Dorui)

Why are they looking at me as if I am a troublemaker?

Okay, let’s escape.

“Well then, I will be going to eat.” (Makoto)

“Yeah, sorry for taking your time.” (Dorui)

“Treat me to a meal when you celebrate your inauguration as Prime Minister. Ah, right, give my regards…to your wife, Filmina.” (Makoto)

“Oi, Makoto.” (Dorui)

A vein pops in the forehead of Dorui-san for a moment there, but he soon sighs. To think the lieutenant of the Blue Wings would be having a relationship with Dorui-san. Looks like I will be able to tease him with this for a while… Kufufufu.

I quickly wave my hand to Dorui-san with a wry smile and walk to the cafeteria.

☆ ☆☆ ☆☆ ☆☆ ☆☆

I arrive at the cafeteria and gazes gather at me.

Since the matter of the rebellion, the gazes directed at me have clearly changed. From the pitying gazes of before, to those of awe, reverence, fear, and many others mixed. How unpleasant.

“Hmm, oh, there they are.” (Makoto)

Well, who cares about the gazes of the mass.

I look around the cafeteria, and when I found the group of Yuichi, the other side also noticed me and waved their hands.

“I heard from Dorui-san. Need me for something?” (Makoto)

“No, not really…” (Yuichi)

Yuichi wasn’t showing any strength in his words, but I can somewhat tell what he wants to say.

“Training, huh.” (Makoto)

“…Yes.” (Yuichi)

I have been busy until now, and I do have a bad precedent, so I have been refusing Yuichi, but he nods.

I do want Yuichi and the others to become proper heroes, but honestly speaking, at this rate it would be difficult, so it looks like I have no choice but to help out.

“I don’t mind once things have calmed down.” (Makoto)

“…Eh? I-Is it okay?!” (Yuichi)

“Yeah, however, it will be with all together.” (Makoto)

Two weeks have passed since the rebellion, but the levels of Yuichi’s group has not increased much. Gallahart said that, if possible, it would be better if they were at least 15 by the time they depart, and the ideal would be 20, but just the other day they got to level 9. The people themselves are doing their best, but it looks like the level 10 wall is higher than they expected.

There’s not much time till they depart, so the King and Queen have also asked me if I could please cooperate.

If I am going to do something, I will do it thoroughly, so I won’t pull punches in the training. But I do have precedence of what happens when I don’t pull punches, so…I will hold back a bit. Also, rather than training them one on one, it would be better to have them get used to team battles and practical trainings. It would also save me trouble.

“Us as well?” (Miki)

“You will be fighting monsters, so there’s the need to do training for team battles.” (Makoto)

“That’s true, but…” (Miki)

“Don’t worry. It will be only me, so you can come at me with all you’ve got.” (Makoto)

“…That’s the scariest part though.” (Miki)

I say ‘How rude’ and Kusuhara responds with a wry smile.

In two weeks, they should be able to learn the basics of team battles. Or more like, I will have them learn the minimum basics. They will have to learn in actual battle, but I will have no choice but to leave that part to the knights accompanying them.

“And so, at what time do we begin? Today, tomorrow? It is fine to just adjust to your schedules.” (Makoto)

“Senpai, totally hyped up.” (Kaede)

“When I decide on doing something, I go all in after all.” (Makoto)

Asagi was impressed by this and gave out a simple ‘Oooh’, and Katsuragi at her side went ‘Senpai, so cool’.

“Pointless Boobs…” (Phal)

“Prune them.” (Kaede)

Creeping to the back of Katsuragi, Phal grabs the right pointless boob, and Asagi also grabs the left pointless boob from the back in synced breath.

“…Why is it that I feel as if I know you from a long time ago?” (Phal)

“What a coincidence. I thought the same thing. Could it be that we are soulmates?” (Kaede)

“That might be the case. Well then, let’s…” (Phal)

“Pluck them.” (Kaede)

Phal and Asagi both look at each other and give thumbs up to each other with an incredibly nice smile. You two, don’t go raising a friendship while fondling the breasts of Katsuragi. What’s with the soulmates? Katsuragi seems like she is heading to heaven in a lot of meanings, you know.

Well, I don’t have any intentions of stopping them, so I am complicit though.

“And so, what are you going to do?” (Makoto)

“Eh, no, uhm…” (Yuichi)

“Don’t mind it. They will get bored in time.” (Makoto)

While thinking they are getting along quite well, I remember that I won’t be able to see a scene like this after two weeks. I won’t say it out loud, but it will be lonely.

“Well then…” (Makoto)

Let’s help them do the last preparations so that they can safely accomplish the defeat of the Demon Lord.

☆☆ ★★★☆☆

<Disclaimer: Explicit content ahead.>

Deep inside a cave, there was a shadow moving with the light of the campfire. In this damp space and the heat of the fire, sweat could be seen thinly on their skin.

“…Fufu.”

The contact of skin and skin in the heat of the fire, the drops of sweat that were faintly shining from the light fall to their collarbone, and there was a woman who licked that sweat and made a bewitching smile.

One is a woman around her twenties, and the other is a girl around her late teens.

Those two beautiful women were showing their naked bodies, and that sight of their intertwined bodies were like a kind of art, and at the same time, it had a satisfaction that felt like a drug.

“Hngh…”

“As sensitive as always.”

“Aah…there…”

One of the moving shadows bends heavily, and after raising her chin, she falls towards the other person weakly. Both were breathing roughly, however, the eyes of both of them was still burning with carnal desire.

“More…love me more…”

The woman with lacking strength pushes the other woman and gives her a hot embrace as if pleading.

“Hn, hey there, don’t play around.”

“Aaah.”

However, the offensive of the woman soon finished, and the woman that was on the bottom began to push too in an interchange of offensive and defensive. The top and bottom changed places, and the girl that was pressed down had her cheeks red in expectation and uneasiness, and lets out a wet seductive breathe as she looks at the woman.

“Just a bit more before the power is full.”

“Haaah…Y-Yes…”

“Once that happens, we can do even more fun stuff.”

With a joyful smile, the mouth of the young woman loosens.

“More…more more…I want to see the abyss of the world.”

Muttering this, the young woman makes a gentle smile and places a hand on the girl’s cheek, and after a light kiss, she lowly speaks out her name.

“…Hey, Mishta…”

“Yes, Makirus-sama?” (Mishta)

The two look at each other as if they were mutually attracted, and their lips connect slowly and deeply.

With hot leaking breaths, their intertwined bodies were forming what seemed like a magic character of sorts , and a magic seal floats up, deep crimson light steadily getting stronger and pulsing. The wicked resentment coming out from their bodies was taking the form of tentacles and entangling the body of the two.

“Nfuu…”

“More, more…” (Mishta)

“Fufu, you are quite the greedy one…” (Makirus)

That light covered the both of them, and the noxious gas that was entangling them like tentacles was unable to restrain the flaring up desire of the two, and the echoes of their voices was enhancing their emotions even more.

Two women indulging in ecstasy at the depths of a dim cave.

It has been one month since the threat of the world, the Witch of Madness, and the only woman she has allowed inside her heart have obtained the power.

These budding flowers were still waiting for the time to bloom, and were entwining their bodies as if confirming each other’s love.

  1. Well, I appreciate your work, but I hope you consider coming back to it someday…or at the least finding someone to take over. I’ve surprisingly enjoyed this novel.

    1. A shame that it ends here since i actually liked the flow of the story.
Tha ks for translating it this far rei-san!

  2. Thanks for the chapter, Reigo-senpai?

Well… I’m not really going to miss this. It lost it’s flair with me a long time ago. At least World Reformation kept my attention. Anywho, I can’t wait for Maou-sama Retry.

  3. {Makoto has earned the titles [Workaholic], [Pharmacy] and [Phimosis]}
Makirus is still just flirting around with her Spy Maid… Ugh… I want one…
Well, I still prefer Niva though. Not that Niva appeared that much, fuck the author for getting my hopes up like that…

    1. Just a bunch of bait and switch, you only see Niva blushing (hinting at something happening between her and Makoto), but it’s Mishta that gets all the steamy scenes, even when the steam was coming off a turd like Erac.

  4. Wow. that sputter of an epilogue…
Thanks for the chapter! I have to completely agree that it’s best to drop the series by this point.

  5. Thanks for the work Raigo-senpai…

Thought i share your sentiment to drop this novel but it always sad day when Novels with great translation won’t continue.

  6. Thanks for all your hard work on translating the series and I do agree with that the its more like on the author’s part that makoto is being too incompetent on scenes he should have seen coming.

Anyways, hopefully you will try to translate this series again in the future since I am still kinda interested in the story.

  7. Thank you for the hard work so far, Reigokai! Too bad since I like Qualia, although a bit lacking, but Retry is really nice as well! Go for it!

    1. Many thanks for at least completing the first arc. Hope this gets picked up by someone. I wanna see what happens to makirus later after all

  8. Wow I just spent a whole day reading how dumb this whole thing went. Three damn times this dumb woman escaped and got a power up, how disappointing this MC turned out to be or how he tackled situations in general.

    ________________________
I understand the reasons why you want to leave QualiA, Reigokai-sama; But in that case, would not it be better than considering the option of inheriting the project from someone else? I say, I started the story, that little thorn of not knowing what will happen when things have been revealed as the fate of the heroes, what happens in the empire and what they plan to do these two lesbian villains will not leave me alone .. It does not have to be immediately and we could wait, I mean, after all, we’ve been waiting for tsuki ga continuation for months … at least you’re open to receiving candidates to continue the project…

    1. El proyecto esta libre a quien quiera traducirlo, pero buscar a alquien que este disponible no es nada sencillo.
No hay muchos traductores en el campo despues de todo.

  10. To be honest, after reading your translations for Tsuki, I have found it difficult reading just about every other LN/WN I’ve come across since. It’s not that you’ve largely ruined Isekai’s for me, but more so that my expectations have been set higher. I’m not sure if it’s because of the quality of your translations or the author’s penmanship (probably a bit of both), but there always seemed to be a level of maturity in the storytelling of Tsuki that I couldn’t find anywhere else. As was in Qualia and other stories I’ve dropped in their early stages, I always had trouble suspending disbelief at character decisions and the world building itself.

I hope the author resumes writing Tsuki because I’ve been constantly rereading the story you’ve translated thus far.

  11. Remembered this novel after some months and to my surprise it came to an end(?), obviously I went for the epilogue… all i can say is
good job to the translator and the readers that keep up till this point. Your efforts to continue with this story are nothing short of impressive.

  12. I suppose in a way its good that you were able to at least finish it here. I agree that the end bit with makoto and mirkius oe whatever her name was, was pretty dumb and lazy, but it makes me really sad to see this dropped. Seems every time i find something i find something i really enjoy, it gets dropped or the author goes into an eternal hiatus. All the characters i enjoyed and became familiar with, i’ll probably never see them again…
