Tsuki – Chapter 392: At the shadow of a good omen is bad omen

“Hnnn!”

I confirmed from across my back that the door of the Merchant Guild closed, then wrapped my arms around each other and stretched them into the sky.

The other day when I gave the engine model that was on display to Rembrandt-san, he said something about paying money not being enough, so he set me up with a number of companies.

In my eyes, there’s no easy merchant in Tsige, moreover, if it is someone that Rembrandt-san introduced to me, they would obviously be even higher than your average Tsige merchant…

Even so, it is true that the Kuzunoha Company and I don’t have many acquaintances within the merchants, and connections with other merchants.

We had casual talks, light business discussions, and several days passed in the blink of an eye while doing all that.

It was tiring, but I think it was quite the beneficial experience.

We are a miscellaneous store, so it is at times like this that we can talk about the specialties of the other party no matter what they are and it can be brought into chances for business.

It might be a benefit of the few miscellaneous stores that managed to survive.

“Security, huh.” (Makoto)

This is one of the concerns that many of the company representatives I met had raised.

Tsige is exterminating the mamonos at the plains, hills, and forests outside the city at an incredible pace.

Even when knowing it is just a temporary bubble, this is one of the reasons why adventurers that don’t have the ability to challenge the wasteland have begun to flow into Tsige and stay in it as their base.

Of course, exterminating the mamonos and securing safe travel in those areas is for no other reason than to create roads and expand the city.

In other words, the chances of being attacked by mamonos when close to the ramparts outside of Tsige are low.

Just that…

“Instead of mamonos, it is now bandits.” (Makoto)

Even if the mamonos outside decrease, it doesn’t mean that it becomes safer, huh.

The robberies around the wide roads have apparently begun increasing.

The cases where their cargo is attacked have increased, and are shaping into numbers that can’t be ignored.

I don’t hear that from the Couple Company, so is it just that the big companies are avoiding that, or they have already predicted that and they take along skilled escorts.

Now that I think about it, I have not heard about the robbery countermeasures from Capli-san.

It would be a nice idea to ask her about it next time for future reference.

“Raidou-san!”

“? Aah, Toa.” (Makoto)

“Are you alone?” (Toa)

“Everyone is busy today. There’s times when I would be alone.” (Makoto)

Toa seems to be alone too.

The leader of Alpine that has been going to the wasteland and making a killing from there.

She has completely become the face of this city.

From what I have heard, when someone from their party shows up at the guild or enters a store, just that alone is enough to gather gazes of respect and admiration.

“It would be better not to walk out alone too much, you know? There have been robberies outside the city, but there’s also parts of the city that have gotten more dangerous when night comes.” (Toa)

“…I see.” (Makoto)

So it isn’t outside the city, but inside as well.

That’s…not good.

There’s no fear in the voice of Toa.

She is decently strong, and the lowered public order in the city isn’t much of a threat for her.

But there was clear displeasure in her voice.

Adventurers who fall into the bandit route are not few, but Toa and the members of Alpine have not chosen that path.

So they are not evil people at their core.

“You are going back to your company, Raidou-san?” (Toa)

“No, I was thinking about showing up at the Bronzeman Company for a bit.” (Makoto)

“…”

“Toa?” (Makoto)

“Well, I don’t think using the face of Raidou-san will resolve the problem completely, but…” (Toa)

“?”

“Do you mind if I accompany you for a bit? I will make sure not to get in your way.” (Toa)

“You said some ominous stuff just now, so I only have a bad feeling about this though.” (Makoto)

“I was just thinking about doing some cleaning up on my way back. Now now, as you can see…” (Toa)

Toa’s presence disappeared in an instant.

It felt incredibly off, but that feeling itself disappeared as well after a few seconds.

It was so thin that it felt as if she had become invisible in place.

Aah, so this is a Skill of a Tobikatou.

What impressive invisibility ability.

If I hadn’t seen Rokuya-san doing something similar, I might have gotten more impressed.

“I will be hidden, so please go to the Bronzeman Company on your own without any worries.” (Toa)

“…Okay. So I am bait.” (Makoto)

The Bronzeman Company has a workshop and store in the neighborhood where craftsmen gather.

If I remember correctly, if I go straight from the Merchant Guild to there, there’s a pretty unpopular street, and the district that the blacksmiths live in -the craftsman street- doesn’t have much in the terms of public order to begin with.

It is an area that you can’t live in unless you have the strength.

“If it is you, Raidou-san, it would be easy to ignore it, but it wouldn’t be a bad idea to clean up the trash of the city since there’s the chance. Ehe.” (Toa)

“If I am to be protected by that famous Toa of Alpine, I have no complaints. I will be counting on you.” (Makoto)

How to say it, it is as if she has the surplus.

It is true that I was thinking about getting away if I were to be caught up by bandits.

The army of Tsige has not taken that great of a shape yet.

There’s close to no system that’s similar to the police.

Of course the public order would worsen.

I advance through the unpopular street together with Toa whose presence wouldn’t even be felt by the ordinary person.

Craftsmen began to mix with the people that look like merchants, and at the time when I began to stand out…

“…Uwah…” (Makoto)

A group of 3 stood in front of my path in an unbelievably brazen manner as if shouting out loud that they have targeted me.

It is true that the location is bad, but to think that I really would encounter them in the city.

They are clearly hoodlums that fell out from the adventurer path.

Did they forget their spiked shoulder pads at home? That’s how much they look like hoodlums.

They give off the air of being the kind of bunch that would say ‘ehehe’ and ‘you look like you’ve got some cash, bro’.

“Hehehe.”

“You’ve got some nice clothes there, bro.”

“Don’t you have cash to spare?”

Yeah, close enough.

“““?!”””

Before I could think about what to do…the three rolled their eyes back and collapsed.

When I looked closely, I could see that they were tied up with ropes.

Oi oi, this way of tying…

I won’t be retorting to everything, okay?

“You saved me there.” (Makoto)

The people on the street were beginning to get noisy, so I thanked her in a low voice.

It was clear that this was the work of Toa and her dexterity after all.

When I did so, a hand that’s making a V sign appeared in front of me.

So she can even do something like return the presence of parts of her body, huh.

A tobikatou has some really amusing techniques.

“Ah, excuse me.” (Makoto)

“Y-Yes?!”

“It seems like they were trying to rob me. Can you contact an Adventurer Guild station close by or a company affiliated to the Merchant Guild?” (Makoto)

“G-Got it!”

I caught a person in the vicinity, pointed at the three who were already unconscious, and asked this of them.

Just because I look like a merchant or a person with money, it ends up like this?

It really does seem like the worsening of the public order is quite the problem depending on the person.

The worst part about it is that, different from mamonos, people can hide even inside the city.

Seeing this, there’s the chance that even Tomoe, Mio, and Lime have experienced this.

I should confirm the situation with everyone tonight and the measures to take.

Also…it would be one thing if it were just robbing, but there might be the type of people that would mix with that kind of bunch to scheme things.

People are the scariest and most troublesome out of everything after all.

“?”

I suddenly felt a gaze.

I looked over at that place, and it was at a slightly tall chimney.

There was a ladder placed there and…a small person?!

I thought for a moment that my eyes had met theirs, and right after, it shone.

Sniper.

The target is…oh? Me?

There’s no sign of Toa reacting to it.

What was shot from the shadow of the chimney with only around half of their body peeking out was a short arrow.

Fortunately, there’s no one aside from me on the trajectory.

I shift my body slightly, and grab the arrow as it passes by.

A crossbow or a bowgun kind of weapon, huh.

It has quite the good range too.

The sniper must have frozen from the shock, they were still there without moving.

Too bad.

If you had hidden yourself, I wouldn’t have gone as far as destroying the chimney to finish you.

I threw the arrow back, gouging out the shoulder of the sniper that’s most likely a demi-human, and the arrow disappeared into the horizon.

“Is something the matter?”

“No, it is nothing. Well then, excuse the commotion.” (Makoto)

The person that was passing by looked at me with dubious eyes since I suddenly swung my hand.

I give them a half-assed response and we resume our walk.

“…Was it a robbery or was it an assault? Were the 3 just a distraction?” (Toa)

“Who knows. The abilities were way too far apart, so they might not be related.” (Makoto)

“Yeah. That sniper felt like an adventurer trained in the wasteland. I think it would have taken me my all to evade that attack.” (Toa)

“I fortunately noticed the sniper and somehow managed to deal with it.” (Makoto)

“…You blew up their shoulder and the arrow went so far it couldn’t even be seen. ‘Somehow managed’ is something that people like me say, Raidou-san.” (Toa)

“Hahaha.” (Makoto)

“Oi oi, bro, don’t go stepping on my shadow!”

“Shut up!” (Toa)

Toa for some reason seemed to be in a bad mood now, and the second encounter ended up with her finishing them in an instant.

“Hey, are you listening, Raidou-san?!” (Toa)

“Yeah, a bit.” (Makoto)

“A bit?! Even though someone might be aiming for your life, you are taking it so lightly?! Way too lightly!” (Toa)

“I did stand out quite a bit in the war of before, so I have been targeted pretty often recently before all this public order worsening business. I have somewhat gotten used to it.” (Makoto)

“You are in a heavier environment than your regular adventurer…” (Toa)

“Our circumstances are special after all. Even so, robberies in the city must be a problem for the delivery and transportation businesses. It will most definitely just escalate further and further if left be.” (Makoto)

“…We adventurers also need Tsige to be safe before being able to go to the wasteland. I think the Guilds will be making their move in this matter soon.” (Toa)

“Ah, then you will be staying home for a while?” (Makoto)

“Yeah. I am happy that the amount of people who think of us as the aces have increased, but there’s times when we have to move for the sake of the city because of it.” (Toa)

“That’s nice. Rinon is also livelier when you and your party are here.” (Makoto)

“Fufu, that does make me happy as her sister.” (Toa)

It is good that sisters get along.

Rinon is a girl with a good head on her shoulders, but she is a child that’s not even 12 yet.

“So, when is the harem marriage ceremony of Hazal and everyone?” (Makoto)

“Why are you throwing such an ill natured question in this good atmosphere?!” (Toa)

That Hazal.

Marrying a hyuman, elf, and dwarf is quite the main character move.

They are all Alpine party members, so thinking about their standing, it will definitely be a historical moment in Tsige.

With how the atmosphere of the city is currently, they can’t just make it simple just because they are adventurers. They won’t be allowed to.

I personally may or may not think that it is good that the jealousy and envy are gathering on Hazal and the attention is deviated from us.

Toa and her party have helped us out quite a lot until now, so I think it wouldn’t be bad to repay them here.

By the way, we were amusing ourselves with such conversation while heading to the Bronzeman Company, but because Toa had erased her presence completely, it ended up with this becoming an episode of the Kuzunoha Company’s representative of many mysteries talking to himself and bandits that get tied up on their own.

What’s even the right answer…

  1. I have a question if I may.
In the country where you live, Reigoka-sama, do they use the daylight savings hour charge?
I’m not sure if you are posted the chapters earlier or later than usual.
I just want to adjust my timing…. to be more efficient in my pursuit of happiness (to be number one)

  2. Was expecting WM chapter today for some reason, guess I miscalculated the calendar… Tsuki chapter is also good, but the cliffs just hit different.

Kinda wanna try just reading ahead in JP for WM, but I’m barely getting started with learning JP, still not used to the grammar and have to look up all the kanji… but I have no idea how high the difficulty level for the reading is, so can’t tell if self-translation would spoil the fun of it.

    1. As someone who just started reading ahead and my kanji understanding not being up to par in my opinion, I suggest reading it without thinking too much about translating it in your head; let Reigokai do the translations for us. What you’d wanna do is to more or less understand what each chapter is about without nitpicking on the details too much. Translate the kanji that you don’t know, but do that casually, especially if the term comes up frequently. If it’s a compound kanji, translate it as a whole rather than one-by-one. Slowly you’ll feel a sense of pride and accomplishment that you just understood a little bit more each chapter. Then come back here to read the details in English, or see whether your understanding in Japanese differs from what it’s being translated.

    2. Web novel is kinda easy. You can pass with basic level understanding and understood the general content of the chapter. That’s what I do anyway. No need to mind the specifics

  3. Thank you for your hard work!

Sometimes I forget Makoto has taken on the best of the best in the Demon Army, so of course someone of Toa’s level would be like child’s play

    1. I think Toa’s level is pretty far up there at this point. Adventures from Tslige generally being considered the world’s strongest Hyumans (on account of facing the deadliest environment), and she’s in Tsilge’s top party. She’s no match for Makoto at all, but that’s just not something to measure against.

So could she fight a single Demon Army general one on one? Dunno. Fighting as a party though I’m sure they’d win – unlike Hibiki’s party from before (even if they’ve presumably they’ve gotten somewhat stronger since then).

  4. Damn its been release after release. Thanks for the chapters!

Though I do hope you are getting enough rest Reigokai.

  6. Now, we have a security issue in Tsige. Btw, I’m curious who sent the sniper.

“it ended up with this becoming an episode of the Kuzunoha Company’s representative of many mysteries talking to himself and bandits that get tied up on their own.” LOL with Makoto as bait, it turns up as an amusing tale for Kuzunoha company.

    Thx for the chapter~

  7. LOL Makoto does think of Hazal as his scapegoat to escape all the envy and jealousy on him.

He’s being too humble. Catching the arrow and sending it back even faster as well as stronger. Adding insult to injury.

Toa is definitely part of Makoto’s fan club like Rembrant (the other executives in Tsige might join too by now). Rinon was 8 before, so 4 years went by.

Hyahaha – Fist of the North Star enemy mob’s lines

    1. Rinon was 10 before (mentioned in chapters 23, 24, and 29).
4 years have passed though so she should be about 14, yet they are saying she isn’t even 12 yet.
      Author screwed up her age.

  8. Obviously it was an attack from the cult that sees Makoto as a higher threat than war, but surely with the help of Makoto they will put a police center in civil protection in Tsige, I hope the Alkes act and Hokuto reappears.

    1. He has too many enemies with this kind of capability to make a conclusion on this, could be Limia, Aion, the Church, Goddess/Apostle fanatics, or just someone that came into contact with Grittonia’s shitty cologne.

      1. I think that shitty cologne can be ruled out. I think Makoto would want to interrogate them to trace the source of the parfume if that is the case.

  9. Thanks for the chapter Reigokai!! I love reading your translations. I marathoned the main story because of the upcoming anime and your translation has very high quality. It’s been such a pleasure to read your translation work!

    1. Hibiki is pretty stupid but I don’t think she’s dumb enough to try such a lame assassination attempt. She knows just how overpowered Makoto is so just hiring some rando to snipe him would inevitably fail. That’s not to say her allies or other people from Limia wouldn’t do it since they don’t know his strength like the Hopelace family who have a grudge on him. Aion is another possibility for obvious reasons. Gritonia could also be a possibility since Tomoki really hates him and he’s dumb enough to delude himself and his brainwashed slaves into thinking he only got the shit beat out of him because of petty tricks and not because Makoto is overpowered.

  10. Eh as if Makoto even needs a bodyguard escort.

Meanwhile Toa is going all vigilante. Is she gonna become Batman? Is she gonna start saying she is Vengeance? That she is Night? She’s pretty close with Tomoe and Mio so is it possible they introduced her to comics like Batman from Makoto’s memories?

Anyways so it looks like Tsige is in need of a police force. Cue Tomoe trying to make the Shinsengumi or some other historical Japanese police force.

I do wonder about who the sniper was. Maybe somebody sent him to assassinate Makoto. I mean Makoto’s appearance is pretty… distinctive… and it’s know just how important Makoto and his company were to Tsige’s independence. Plus we did previously see that there were a group of people that have been trying to plot against him.

    1. It’s looking like whoever sent the assassin, also believed that Raidou would hold still while being robbed by low level bandits, so maybe that helps narrow our suspects to the ones that wouldn’t expect him to just wipe out anything that comes across his path.

    2. everything about Makoto is shrouded in darkness and wet dreams even in the chapter against arte (the goddess apostle), arte was once almost crazy and foamy when looking for information on relationships with kuzunoha, raido, toa, rosegard, etc. so just judging that raido is weak and his subordinates are strong, tricking the enemy for victory even though subordinates press raido so as not to go berserk and close off information so as not to have a bad impact on raido, the effect on Tsige is erratic growth and makes Tsige a potential small country but a superpower in raido protection

  11. Thank you very much for the chapter.

In tsige arc with the elf. It’s about time demi-humans hate makoto and show him that they’re trash too.

This arc will focus on the new tsige and mist city

2 things seem strange to me, it seems that the author is forgetting what he wrote a long time ago.

Toa, you have seen how good Makoto is with the bow, he has a lot of magical power according to an adventurer’s pov and you also know that Makoto kept root in the air (in his guild leader mode) and gave him such a strong punch deformed his face.

And are you surprised that Makoto can take care of himself? Or maybe the fact that hyumans have tiny brains is the reason.

They remember Izumo’s father, that hyuman saw makoto in the air fighting against Haruka and still in a fit of anger. He wanted to go and raise his weapons against makoto.

and the other point that the author forgot, is the age of Rinon. We had mentions of his birthday in the bow of lorel and it has been 4 years. It is impossible that he is not 12 years old, perhaps the author is giving amnesia to the toriyama of dragon ball?

  12. Poor sniper-kun.
I wonder what kind of honest job he can do after he was being healed…
Definitely, he cannot continue to be an adventurer…

  13. It was probably a good move to dead man’s volley that attack. The flex sends a message, and that assassin is going to be PISSED at their employer for sending them after such a complete monster.

  14. That was nice chapter.
I am sure everything will go wrong during that harem marriage though.

The only question is who actually sent that sniper? I think it’s either Gritonia or Lidia.

  15. Thanks for the chapter, its always fun to see how nonechalant Makoto does something outrageous. Snipping ack a snipper barehanded crazy!!!!!!!!!!

    1. Very casually, like waving your hand once at a bad smell, or swatting away a fly. Toa only noticed the arrow getting tossed back, no one else noticed anything more than Raidou swinging his hand.

  16. There is an age discrepancy in this chapter. Is it a mistake or deliberate?

Its possible that Makoto is using Komoe to measure Rinon’s age as he doesn’t see her often. In that case Komoe (and perhaps Makoto by extension) are ageing at half the rate of Hyumans like Rinon.

  17. Its been a while since i felt like reading the extra chapters. Honestly, other than the main story, i truely love the extra chapters abt the modern world without makoto. Especially the 2 girls that loved him. I wanted to know more on their progress but theres been no news on that for years already, which is sad in my opinion. not even the untranslated raw had any continuation of it. Well I love the main story too so im fine for now but i really want to see the actions aft makoto returns home n his interactions of him n the girls he left

  18. Why the hell are random muggers going after the guy that murdered an apostle? Aside from that he’s publicly known as the benefactor of the de facto head of the country, employs 2 people with levels over 1000, and has Lime the highest level adventurer under his employment. It’s not like they can even not know who he is, his face cannot be mistaken for anyone else in that world, people who have never even seen him before would recognize his face at first glance.

      1. Most likely they know exactly who they are targeting. Remember people know him for being a level 1 weakling surrounded by strong guards.

    1. The demons maybe busy researching a way to negate trashmoki’s charm. Their magitech is quite advanced (remember that they are able to blocks bugdess blessing when Kuzunoha company knew next to nothing about it), so they might be able to do it.

  19. When can we see Makoto leveling up? It’s been a while since we could see the change inside of him being shown.

  20. Makoto said that hes been helped pretty much by toa and her party but u dont really recall them doing anything for makoto and company tho? Anyway thanks for the chapter

  21. thanks for chap
lol toa wanting to be cool and do an amazing job as a guard but then a sniper’s arrow is caught bare handed and thrown back fast and strong enough to burst the assassin’s arm and disappear into the sky like a star by the so called weak merchant being guarded

that scene was dam funny, with mc marrying a dragon and a spider darkness spirit he really shouldn’t be saying that to hazal. What was hazal again hyuman or elf?

  22. Lol, that was amusing.
Makoto and Hazal the only natural harem protagonist in this era (lol).
    Thank you for the chapter!

  23. You can notice that as an mc move, but you don’t realize the things that you have done to quite literally break the world’s physics? Geez.

A man with a mysterious power to tie up people that talk to him. Just another day I guess.

    1. You like One Piece huh. It’s ok I guess, but I wish shows like Chaika, Saber Marionette, or F91 Gundam had gotten multiple seasons.

          1. Where did you get your information? If you mean my pfp then it’s some random pic I found when I looked up the word anime.

          2. Tetra, BRO CHILL!!! i also thought he watched one piece but after reading this thread i didnt expect you to start roasting his ass like that🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
            .
            .
            .
            .
            .
            HE DESERVED IT THOUGH!!!!!

      1. F91 gundam only got a bad movie. Originally it was suppose to have a full 50 episode anime season. But got cancelled after like i think 10 to 12 episodes were made. The episodes weren’t shown. And i don’t think the full details were given. Then they decided to make a movie from that story. And what you get is a condensed mess. It really deserved a fully anime. Especially since that era is just before the crossbone gundam era. Which the f91 era has stuff that involves and transfers to that next era. The mc would have been involved in the crossbone gundam era. That’s another one that needs an anime.

  24. I’m so disappointed that there was no romantic development between Toa and Makoto throughout this entire journey (the novel, not their walk)

    1. I think it speaks of how Makoto wouldn’t go back to the girls of his previous life (Toa resembled one of them)

      1. But you have to ask this. What was the point of having Toa look like that one he declined the confession from. Storywise it shows no purpose to have her look like her from his old world.

        1. It was a coincidence to fool the reader into believing she will be part of the harem which she is not and also symbolizes how Makoto feels about the girl she resembles, and if we are to analyze his behavior he barely cares

        2. Wasn’t it because they are from the same blood line? There was one adventurer of the origin that didn’t choose immortality, made a family and die as a noble at the Lorel. That one adventurer of the origin is Toa ancestor and a relative(i don’t know how far, but probably pretty close) of Makoto’s friend.

    2. Same. Unlike the Sif and Yuno that sort of wanted to be with him at some point in their meeting, Toa didn’t have any of that sort of development.

      1. lol the very first adventurers he saved. She looks just like the girl who was in the Archery Club with him back on Earth

      1. That’s part of the reason I was disappointed. Toa takes up a good deal of the time in this story, plus with how they met and her a spitting image of his Kouhai, it’s like they were set up to be romantically involved, and then it just didn’t go anywhere for no actual reason. Why even give her those traits and make absolutely no use of them?

        1. Well before i go in why she didn’t matter i will clarify one thing she didn’t have that much screen time nor importance.

Now she definitely looked like the junior because the author probably had in mind lorel arc and the origin adventurers all the way back in the beginning and he decided to leave the revelation that Toa is of japanese roots later and a coincidence that she looks like the junior, but i also believe that she served as a way for us the readers to see how Makoto develops and changes by showing his attitude regarding Toa as a way of showing his attachment to the earth girls , and it looks like be barely cares.

Your disappointment might be because you wanted her to be important but you missed very keen details that show from the very beginning she isn’t

1- Makoto decided to make Tomoe train them because he saw her as a problem (manga)

2- we barely see her in 3 years and if you rub 2 brain cells together we can absolutely see that she had way more time with hazal and fought together all the time.

TLDR the signs that she isn’t a romantic interest are shown early but people for some reason ignored them.

          1. Some people just want the MC to wife every girl he sees up. But Toa never had a chance. If she tried to approach Makoto, Mio would have dealt with her. Tomoe also didn’t want them to get close so it was natural for her to fall for someone else. After all, that person was always around helping her.

  25. Guys do not envy Hazal, it is false, in real life a harem means fights between women, women’s fights against you, emotional and economic stress, problems between children and progeny and it always ends with the protagonist stabbed in the back

    1. That depends entirely on whether the harem is based on the mutual consent of all parties. Harems in which two people love a third, but don’t love each other, and consider themselves rivals will fail. Expecting a relationship to survive that kind of constant tension is ridiculous.

Hazal might be the sole man in the group, but their 4-way isn’t about 3 girls in love with one guy. It’s about 4 people who together chose to become a family. There is no competition about whos “first” or who’s “most important.”.

The biggest problem with making a harem in current society is the toxic ideology of a relationship being about “owning” someone, When you view people as possessions to fight over, it will usually result in tragedy.

      1. Nah, i don’t consider that toxic. To a certain extent you have to be loyal to the people you’re married to. Even in a harem situation. I haven’t seen one true harem story where the mc was like, let me just cheat on all the waifus i currently have. When a new interest comes along, it’s usually the waifus the mc already has that talk about it and discuss if they would want them to be with the mc. Even in high school dxd, the main waifu/legal waifu has interviews with potential waifus. To gage if they really do care about the mc or want him for other reasons. And that’s why the main waifu/legal waifu is in that position. Because they are the ones who can tell who is for real and who isn’t in the harem.

        1. Loyalty is quite a different concept from “ownership”

In most cases, the concept of ownership lies behind jealousy. “YOU ARE MY POSESSION AND NO ONE ELSES.” It reduces your “loved one” into an object to be owned, not a person to love and cherish.

Some japanese “haremfic” treats girls as “conquest targets” i.e. trophies to collect, which I can’t stand because it leads to precisely the situation Romeo described, while good haremfic shows groups of people who mutually respect and trust each other as PEOPLE. Hazal didn’t try to conquer any of the girls. They simply grew closer over time and made a mutual agreement to formalize their bonds as a family together. It comes down to whether it’s mutual, or `one sided I suppose.

One is about collecting objects, The other is about creating families.

      1. If you’re talking about the spear hero, he was a moron in his old world. Just like in the shield hero world. He was cheating on many females. Then it caught up to him, because they found out. Then they killed him. And that is how he got isekai’d. Which isn’t explained in the anime or even in the manga adaptation. If i remember correctly all 3 other heroes died and then were summoned to that world. If i remember correctly. The shield hero himself is the only one who didn’t die and was summoned to that world. lol Plus all the heroes are choosen by their weapons. And only the shield got it’s first choice. All 3 of the other weapons got their 3rd or 4th choices. Because the other ones didn’t want to come to that world. So the weapons got the short end of the stick. lol Only the shield got first choice. XD As a bonus, sword hero died saving a friend. Bow hero was hit by truck kun if i remember correctly. XD

    2. In many of the stories it doesn’t end up like that. XD There’s always fighting in general. Even between family members. So that’s not much of a point either. lol In other harems i’ve read the waifus get along to a point of being friends. In some harems there’s even the waifus having adult affection time with each other as well. Only a few i’ve read, but does happen.

  26. So this time it’s public security and order. I’m wondering if they’ll bring up water utilities and waste management. As far as I know aside from Asora, the rest of Tsige probably have primitive toilets.

  27. A HAREM MARRIAGE.. A true japanese STUPIDITY. Hazal a short live human .. Toa a short live human Louisa a long live elf Rani a long live dwarf.. A TRUE HELL ENDING WITH GRIEF after both human dies.. A USELESS JAPANESE MARRIAGE. WHAT A PAIN IN THE BUTT. 🙄🙄🙄

    1. We all don’t like that, but let Hazal be a Mc. He was build up for thisand after 350+ chapters he finally gets into the true Mc road.

Tho the part with them dying, they are adventurers – they basically stand on deaths door every time in the wasteland. So even if they die due to age – the long living elf and dwarf can keep the children under their care and watch them grow up OR fall in love again. So many ways what can happen with both of them just so you know

    2. Maybe for him that could happen. The mc in this story can still become immortal. Most likely when he becomes a true god. Even in other stories gods and goddesses were once mortal. And eventually evolved as their power did and became immortal down the road. Which i see the mc gaining. Mainly because i don’t think he would want to leave his waifus and make them sad with his death.
