Chapter 198: Gossip – Hibiki and Lime

‘What am I doing?’

Lime Latte was at a slightly further away place from the camp as he said this monologue.

(Seriously, something is wrong with me. Like this, it really is as if I am in a party.) (Lime)

Since the time he saved the priestess Chiya in Lorel Union with hero Hibiki, Lime has been moving together with them.

At first, it was obviously for the sake of gathering information by the order of his superior, Tomoe.

And yet, for some reason, Lime had meshed in with their party, and currently, he has ended up accompanying hero Hibiki because he was asked formally to a mission.

It is an infamous forest, but there were no signs of demonic beasts or beasts coming close to him who was smoking tobacco.

The creatures that live in this forest have recognized that this man that looks defenseless while smoking a tobacco, is actually a strong one.

And so, the natural instincts of the beasts are providing him with safety.

(…Frankly speaking, it is comfortable. As if I am with comrades I have been adventuring together for several decades.) (Lime)

There was a reason why he felt like he is together with comrades he has been along with for a long time.

It isn’t to the point of decades, but in the past, Hibiki’s party had one swordswoman.

A woman by the name of Naval.

Lime knew this from the information he had.

And the fact that he is in the spot she should be.

It is also the reason why at times it felt like he had a set place for him when in battle.

Not only that, Lime actually knew the woman named Naval in more detail than Hibiki herself.

(To think that that Naval was a companion of the hero. She was in Tsige for a temporal time, but… the Vengeance Oni has become quite a kind one. To die for the sake of her comrades is a way of dying that she definitely wouldn’t have done in the past. Well, I can’t talk about others though.) (Lime)

The Naval that Lime knows was an embodiment of revenge that pointed its fangs of hatred towards the demon race.

It is not only once or twice that he has seen people bleach with the blood of the demons.

Their power and gold is all used for the sake of killing as many demons as possible.

That’s the kind of woman she was.

But the Naval that Hibiki and Chiya tell him about, were all stories of a charming woman with hyuman kindness.

Thinking that Naval was changed by Hibiki, Lime thought that maybe Naval was happier than in the time he knew her.

He felt something similar to gratitude towards Hibiki.

(You didn’t die in loneliness and with a maddened smile. That’s great. Moreover, that dancing blade technique is still living within Hibiki.) (Lime)

He blows out a big smoke.

A thick smoke that looked as if it could take the whole head. And after he felt that he let out enough, he once again inhales heavily.

(Hibiki is truly a heroic existence. To the point that it is easy to see. That is also because she is purposely acting in that way, and it is also because the people wish that from her. Acting to become the vessel of hopes is not something that a person would be able to do with a normal spirit. I can tell why Boss sings praises of her.) (Lime)

In the time that Lime was keeping an eye on Hibiki, he noticed that she was putting on an image of a ‘hero’ as she acted.

At first, he thought that it was an action of deceiving the general public, but…

(She is doing exactly what’s wished for in a hero. What part of that is bad and who would suffer losses from it? She is quite the person.) (Lime)

It is certainly true that Hibiki is highly calculative.

To the point that at times, he rolled his tongue as he watched her.

But Hibiki wasn’t showing contempt or planning something.

Without denying the image that the populace holds of heroes, she instead accepted it and showed them actions that fit their wishes.

As a result, she has much more support, and people that don’t falter in cooperating with the country for the sake of Hibiki, are born.

And Hibiki will have a stronger authority within those people, obtaining the root of support.

No one is losing.

Lime doesn’t think of idealistic thoughts like ‘it is bad because she is deceiving’.

He is being affected by the charisma of Hibiki and it increases that view of his, but just like Makoto, Lime was starting to approve of Hibiki.

Also…

(I have been ignoring the calls of Sis Tomoe a few number of times already. I do think that something’s wrong with me, but…is there an option of following Hibiki like this? No, my life was changed by Boss and Sis Tomoe. To change jobs to Hibiki wouldn’t be cool.) (Lime)

Lime’s worries were that.

The tobacco ashes were falling to the ground three time faster than normal.

It was indicating the distress he was having at this moment.

It seems like Hibiki’s way of acting was something that made Lime want to see and continue seeing it from now on as well.

Lately, she has not been asking him to participate permanently in her party.

To take away an employee of Kuzunoha Company without permission is as expected, not something good, is what Hibiki said.

But if in that time Lime has a change of heart, she did say that she would really request it from them.

An invitation that’s not forced.

If it’s solved peacefully, it would be great, is what Lime said.

And so, Lime was wavering.

Because it was awkward, he was unable to make contact with the Kuzunoha Company, and at the same time, it signified that Lime was leaning towards Hibiki’s side.

(Hm? Hibiki huh. How unusual for her to come alone.) (Lime)

The face of Lime that was facing up and down, was now faced towards the side.

Because in that direction, he felt the presence of Hibiki.

“Even though I thought I had properly erased my presence. I can’t win against Lime.” (Hibiki)

“Anything you need?” (Lime)

“You said that you would be eating your meal separately, right? I do have to take care of our helper here after all.” (Hibiki)

With an accustomed smile, Hibiki gives Lime the plate she had.

When Lime’s gaze went to the plate, Hibiki took out the cloth that was on the plate as if she was in a play.

The scent of vegetables and meat spread to the surroundings.

“When the person herself says that she will take care of me… it is just…” (Lime)

“It is because it is Lime that there’s no need to decorate my words so much, so it makes it more comfortable. I told you before, right? If there’s no evil in it, then acting is not something bad.” (Hibiki)

“…I am an outsider though.” (Lime)

“But you are helping us. Even though there’s no need to cooperate with the request of Lorel Union. This is not necessary in the preliminary inspection of the company after all.” (Hibiki)

“…Is that steamed food? How? There’s no kitchen. I don’t know how you made it, but it is well made. I will take it.” (Lime)

“Ara, you are correct. Even if it’s steamed, it isn’t anything complicated. I also have some convenient cooking methods.” (Hibiki)

While giving the food to Lime, Hibiki begins explaining.

While being slightly grateful at Hibiki for understanding that he wanted to change the topic, he took the food.

“Delicious. Even if you stop being a hero, you would be fine. Today was made by Hibiki and Chiya, right?” (Lime)

“Thanks. That’s exactly right.” (Hibiki)

“The affinity between the vegetable and meat was well thought out, and there’s the seasoning as well. Even though you are a hero, you are able to do housework. That’s like undermining the whole women out there.” (Lime)

“It isn’t something that would trouble me for being able to do it. You as well, for someone that smokes tobacco, your sense of taste is pretty good. Isn’t that also undermining?” (Hibiki)

“Ah, you got me there.” (Lime)

After that, Lime gobbles up his food.

Hibiki didn’t hate the silence, and at times, she would make conversation as she stays there.

“Thanks for the food.” (Lime)

“Eating all the food makes me feel good. It was worth making it and bringing it here.” (Hibiki)

“And? You didn’t come here just because you were in the mood, right?” (Lime)

“It is true that I came to conquer your stomach, you know?” (Hibiki)

“Those kind of things, do them for brother Bredda. At my place, there are many people that like cooking, like Sis Mio. Something of this level won’t conquer me.” (Lime)

“Too bad. It is about tomorrow.” (Hibiki)

“The purple cloud huh. It seems like it is withering the forest and approaching at quite the fast pace.” (Lime)

Matching the change of mood from Hibiki, Lime also responds seriously.

“Yeah. It possesses strong toxicity, without doubt. It isn’t on a lukewarm level like acidic rain. The fact that there’s few living beings escaping, it should be safe to say that there’s something even more dangerous.” (Hibiki)

“Something that’s making the animals late to run, huh. This is big.” (Lime)

“The only ones in our group that can deploy wind to our surroundings while fighting are Wudi and I. Thinking about the danger of the cloud, we have no choice but to place Chiya-chan and Bredda as backup.” (Hibiki)

“It was an emergency, so everyone came after all. But I am able to fight while deploying wind, you know?” (Lime)

“…If you weren’t part of it, I wouldn’t be here in the first place.” (Hibiki)

“I see. In other words, you are asking me to join in the attacking role.” (Lime)

“Yeah, please.” (Hibiki)

“How straight.” (Lime)

“…”

It was different from how he felt with Makoto. Lime felt a sensation as if wanting to stretch out his hand.

And from that, the answer was already decided.

If it turns bad, they can just retreat; is what Lime delineated as he nods.

“Understood, I will help you. Seriously, just how much I have lend Hibiki already. You are properly remembering it, right?” (Lime)

“You are really a big help.” (Hibiki)

With a wide smile, Hibiki expresses her gratitude to Lime.

She nods once and continued her words.

“If I am to your liking, how about I marry you and return this debt for the rest of my life?” (Hibiki)

“What an ill mannered joke. I don’t want to be the man of a hero, what a pain.” (Lime)

“Instantly rejected?!” (Hibiki)

“I like all women, but I have never wished for marriage even once.” (Lime)

“…You will be stabbed in time, seriously.” (Hibiki)

“I am already tired of hearing that warning.” (Lime)

“Aah, I have been rejected. I am bad at giving up, so I will be tackling it again some other time, okay?” (Hibiki)

“You won’t go down huh, as expected of a hero.” (Lime)

“Well then, I am counting on you tomorrow.” (Hibiki)

“Leave it to me.” (Lime)

Hibiki returns.

With just those words said, Lime stayed in place.

(Boss…)

The night was still long.

Lime was troubled once again.

◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆

Range.

That’s probably the biggest weakness the hero Hibiki holds.

The fighting power of Hibiki increases every day.

But in regards to long-ranged attacks, it always ends up weaker than those of close combat ones.

This time’s opponent is a cloud.

It is high in the sky.

If you want to attack it, it is obvious that there’s the need of a method to have your attack reach it, or a way to reach all the way there.

For Hibiki, her only option was the latter.

And the magician Wudi and Lime who were accompanying her, will approach as much as possible to the cloud, and while avoiding the poison that is being poured down along with a wind akin to a storm, and the colored rain that would definitely produce damage to the body if made contact with.

They were releasing the attacks that they have thought of and trying to disperse the cloud.

The actual attackers are Wudi and Hibiki.

Lime was acting as a support.

As long as their opponent is a giant cloud and they are unable to get close to it, it was natural that it would come to this.

Hibiki was currently in the sky.

“This was my trump card though. So even perforating it isn’t showing any effects huh. What should we do? No other choice but to get…closer?” (Hibiki)

Hibiki’s tone still had leeway in it, but her expression was quite stiff.

“You can’t joke around. We can’t get closer than this. In the first place, to change your sword pressure in such a way and send it flying is already at plenty of a monstrous level. You can be proud of it.” (Lime)

Lime returns a honest opinion to Hibiki.

What Hibiki thought of for a long distance attack, was using the sword pressure as a bullet, an out of norms technique.

But she was able to do that.

She was finally able to do it by borrowing the power of the sacred treasure.

And to release it in full power, there’s also the need for the support of Lime, but she will probably be able to achieve it alone in time.

Her abnormal ideas and her growth that makes it possible.

Lime was looking at Hibiki, and has personally felt the reason why Makoto praised her, but even so, this time’s trump card was a surprise for him.

“If it’s about attack power in one point, you are higher than me, aren’t you? Seriously, to think that I would be slapped in the butt to aim for higher heights at this age. Being a member of a hero party is not gentle sometimes.” (Wudi)

Wudi mixes a sigh as he laughs.

He also hasn’t been able to produce an effective attack against the cloud.

Frankly speaking, they were at a stalemate.

“This looks like…it will be impossible. Let’s return once and make a plan. That’s the best option we can choose right now.” (Lime)

“…If we return, there will be several damages incurred. Definitely.” (Hibiki)

“People can be evacuated. Villages can be made again. Well, in a different place, that is.” (Lime)

“Wudi, is there a way?” (Hibiki)

While Hibiki and Wudi were doing thought transmission with the members on the ground and making a plan to break through this, Lime had one idea.

(If I contact Sis, it will probably work out somehow. This cloud is probably something from the wasteland. Looking at the direction it came from, there’s no doubt. Sis and Boss might know something about it.) (Lime)

But he thinks, that for someone like him that has been attracted by Hibiki and neglected his contacts a number of times, it would be asking for too much.

His pride has already been completely destroyed by Makoto and the others, but he still hesitated.

The reason he wants to be helped is for personal reasons, and there’s also the feeling of wanting to help the hero mixed in it as well.

(No, there’s no time to be hesitating. This is the last. In terms of time, it is already about time I have to return anyways. If this will save a number of people and children from the villages, there’s no need to hesitate. It will result in helping Hibiki. It is just because of that.) (Lime)

Lime hesitated and hesitated, and then, he decided.

He sends a thought transmission to his superior, Tomoe.

Tomoe soon responded.

(Sis, it is Lime.) (Lime)

(…It’s been a while. Is that side comfortable?) (Tomoe)

The words of Tomoe were as if she had seen through him.

(…I am sorry. I…to the hero…) (Lime)

Lime soon gave up the idea of smoothing it over, and told everything to Tomoe.

(No, I don’t mind. I have done something slightly ill-mannered. Sorry for that. Even so, you contacted us. That’s fine. What’s your situation?) (Tomoe)

But Tomoe controls this and urges him for an explanation.

(RIght now there’s a purple cloud that is causing damage to the Lorel Union. From my guess, it is probably something that came from the wasteland.) (Lime)

(It is close to it-ja na. There’s no mistake in that guess.) (Tomoe)

(And so, I was wondering if you have any sort of plan to take care of it.) (Lime)

(…Fuh~, you have really been taken in-ja na.) (Tomoe)

(Sis, the number one essence of Hibiki is coexistence and mutual prosperity. I think that she would be able to get along well with Boss and us.) (Lime)

(That’s only if she doesn’t throw away that number one essence of hers, that is.) (Tomoe)

(Eh? (Lime)

(This is only an assumption, but if Hibiki’s way of thinking reverses, she can also become the existence that would hurt Waka the most. You do know the way to deal with people that hurt Waka…right?) (Tomoe)

(…So caution is necessary no matter what huh.) (Lime)

(Is how I think. I haven’t told this to Waka. You are the only one I have told this-ja zo? The only thing I told Waka was to be careful of the politician after all.) (Tomoe)

(…)

Lime was troubled by how to answer.

Hibiki and Makoto can help each other out.

Even though he proposed this, Tomoe was looking at a further future from that.

‘Then what can I say?’, he was at a loss of words.

(Also, Lime, you still don’t understand that our master is Waka.) (Tomoe)

(Hah?)

(I will show you a performance with that cloud. Don’t move from there. And don’t let anyone else move.) (Tomoe)

Tomoe cuts off the thought transmission.

“Hibiki, Wudi.” (Lime)

Lime simply felt that something was going to happen, and calls for the two that were with him.

“What?” (Hibiki)

“Is something the matter?” (Wudi)

“Don’t move from here. Also, tell the two below the same thing, please.” (Lime)

While saying this, he uses his perception at his surroundings with all his power.

There was something that…caught his attention.

(A gate has opened! The ones that came out are…winged-kin? Two of them.) (Lime)

Lime felt that an Asora gate opened at the very edge of his perception range.

It wasn’t a coincidence.

It was certain that Tomoe did this on purpose so that he would be able to feel it.

People that have white wings and black wings went high up into the sky.

Winged-kin.

Residents of Asora.

They are at a position that’s a lot higher than Hibiki and Lime.

They are higher than the purple cloud.

The winged-kin were going up.

(What? What’s going to happen?) (Lime)

“Lime, did you think of a way? Can you tell us, please?” (Hibiki)

“I have…played the card already.” (Lime)

“Eh?” (Hibiki)

“That’s why, don’t move. Don’t do anything and just watch, please. If you wish for the best, that is.” (Lime)

Lime himself doesn’t know what’s going to happen.

That’s why, there was practically nothing he could say.

This time, the winged-kin stopped close to the end of where Lime was able to perceive.

(If I remember correctly…the black winged-kin are able to link information with another person, but…with who?) (Lime)

The altitude that the black winged-kin can fly is lower than that of white winged ones.

That’s why they are holding each other in that way, is what Lime could tell.

In other words, the one that’s necessary is the black winged one.

Noticing the special trait of them, Lime tried to infer what was happening, but…the answer soon came out.

“!!! What?!”

“No good, we won’t make it in time for defense!!”

It was a bit faster than the words of Hibiki and Wudi, but well, there was no meaning in the difference in speed though.

From far in the distance, a thick heavy thread of light was aimed at the purple cloud, and Hibiki’s group.

(Does that mean I am already not needed? Sis?) (Lime)

With a feeling emptiness, Lime thought this.

But that was only because Lime still didn’t understand him, his master.

The words of Tomoe were correct in a variety of meanings.

(Boss…Well, if I am to be killed by Boss… in the first place, this life was picked up by him. He is a person that would make a person like me believe that he will be able to pull it off even if I am not around anymore.) (Lime)

Lime uprightly accepted his death, and then, he closes his eyes.

He can’t tell where that attack was shot from.

But Lime was able to understand that the one that the winged-kin was linked with was Makoto.

In other words, this is an attack from Makoto.

The light drew near until it was at the very eyes of Hibiki’s group.

In an instant, it spread into several threads and skilfully passed by them, and the fine threads of light pierced the purple cloud.

“…”

There were no words.

Not from Hibiki, Wudi, or Lime.

And from that group, Lime’s silence held a different meaning.

(Ah…seriously.) (Lime)

The cloud that was forcefully cut into a thousand pieces, began to scatter.

If he had to compare Hibiki and Makoto, Hibiki would be higher, only if he were to take out one point.

And that hasn’t changed at all, even now.

But the meaning of that one point, he probably underestimated it, is what he thought.

No, he noticed that he had forgotten about it.

(This power, this power that is able to hold down anything no questions asked; I was shown this. Right, I…want to see the destination of Boss that is even able to own the land of Asora.) (Lime)

Lime still holds good will towards Hibiki.

But he vividly remembered the memories he had in Tsige.

(…To drop in the middle of it would be a waste. I am a member of Kuzunoha Company, Lime Latte.) (Lime)

“Now then, let’s return. We are done now, after all.” (Lime)

Looking at the blue sky that didn’t have a single sign of the purple cloud, Lime spoke to Hibiki and Wudi who are still in silence.

The surroundings still had the remnants of Makoto’s magic power.

Making a spell of that level, Makoto was able to accomplish a stunt like leaving the three unscathed when they were in the area.

Lime was proud of it, shocked, and had a strange smile.

“…Is this Lime’s trump card?” (Hibiki)

With a slightly trembling voice, Hibiki finally opened her mouth.

“…Yeah. Of course, there’s no problem in taking the all the credit like the time in the temple.” (Lime)

“You won’t tell us what you did?” (Hibiki)

“I don’t know.” (Lime)

“Eh?” (Hibiki)

“I don’t know. I just consulted. To a person that might have known of that cloud, and if that person had some sort of plan.” (Lime)

With a refreshed face as if an evil spirit had left his shoulders, Lime answers Hibiki.

“What in the world…” (Wudi)

“Seriously. It is shocking right? I can only laugh at it.” (Lime)

Those were words that were said as if affirming the Wudi.

“Kuzunoha Company…” (Hibiki)

Hibiki probably already inferred a certain amount of truth.

But right now, she limited herself to only muttering these words.

To avoid saying anything imprudent and have Lime hear it.

She could also tell the change of heart in Lime instinctively.

“I have to return soon. I have a mountain of work over there.” (Lime)

“I see… It was fun, but too bad. When Raidou-dono comes to Limia, I would like you to come as well. It would be sad if this were the end after all.” (Hibiki)

“If Boss asks me to, I will. I also had fun, Hibiki.” (Lime)

After that, they returned to the ground, and regrouped with Chiya and Bredda.

The hero that was requested by Lorel Union, was able to splendidly defeat the purple cloud and save the people of Lorel.

The reputation of Hibiki has increased once again.

It’s a result that can be considered a success.

But a bit before regrouping, Hibiki bit her lips.

Strong.

(Lime… I…) (Hibiki)

The first person that Hibiki wished for the most, had slipped from her hands.

She understood this.

And Hibiki was trying not to show her emotions in her face, but this time she was unable to.

She was mortified, and those feelings welled up to her throat.

That she didn’t say anything was maybe because of her obstinacy.

Whatever the case may be, the assistance of Lime and the competition with Makoto, had ended in the victory of Makoto without his knowledge.

    1. It already sunk I think. Lime chose Makoto.

That sounds gay. Let’s rephrase that.
      Lime chose Kuzunoha.

      1. Can you imagine if instead of Kuzonoha it was Nohomoya?

I am still hoping the Archery Captain comes into the world… or maybe a few of the Archery members enter the story again…

Instead we’ll have to accept the purple cloud credit stealers to be putting up woe for Lime.

      2. But hey, Hibiki seems surprisingly invested in this, so I doubt it will just disappear. If she chooses Kuzunoha over the goddess, then the ship could get sailing. So that’s an ultimatum that will probably come eventually. Pretty clear where she stands now, but it’s likely a long way off before the issue gets forced, and who knows where she will stand then.

Plus, I get the idea Hibiki only believes in the goddess because she doesn’t know about the existence of other gods. She’s of the opinion that a ruler force is better than no ruler force, even if it is far from perfect, and in her eyes, removing the goddess would remove anyone capable of fulfilling her role.

          1. I think it is. If I understood that part of world history correctly, France was saved from the anarchy of the French Revolution by the tyranny of Napoleon. I don’t really know though, all of my teachers for every history class insisted on focusing on the young United States when we got to that time period, even in college. I don’t even know if what Napoleon did is really considered tyranny.

      3. @coatl45 Napoleon lost that is why . History is writtn by the victors. He said it himself that history is just a fable most agreed upon.

        1. Well, here in Louisiana, he’s seen in a pretty fair light. Mostly because of the policies that he implemented. We have a lot of systems and practices based upon the Napoleonic Codes that he set up. Including calling our regions parishes instead of counties.

      4. Wouldnt it be fine to just show hibiki what that goddess looks like as a bug than show other gods, whose you dont know when theyll come again?

      5. I wonder how she would feel to know that Mokoto has met several gods already and even fought with one? Gods that has more influence/more powerful than Bug? That would totally destroy here sense of reality probably causing her to pee herself anytime she thinks about it or maybe even see Mokoto’s face 😀

      6. @zeqy too bad Hibiki is a type of person that prioritizes Duty over her personal feelings so in order to protect hyumans he would rather choose to side with the Goddess since she decided that hyumans can’t live without her and thus in the near FUTURE WE WILL EXPECT HIBIKI TO GO AGAINST MAKOTO WHEN HE WILL ATTEMPT TO CONDUCT A RAID ON BUGDESS DUNGEON

    2. The ship has already sunk down at the bottom of the ocean lol

And lime x hibiki flag was crushed by makoto without even him knowing

Ha! Take that! Serve you right hibiki who told you to steal lime from makoto you bitch! Wahahahaha (evil laugh)

    3. Any ship that enters a war zone knows that there is a great risk in doing so.
Having Hibiki and Lime who are like generals from opposing factions fall in love seems like a bad idea to me.
Something terrible is destined to occur.

  1. What’s this!? A new chapter already!!!? The lord God is good! This pace……I might become addicted to it if it continues…..but it’s not like I’m complaining or anything……

THANKS FOR THE CHAPTER!!! KEEP HEALTH FOR IF NOT YOURS, OUR SAKE THEN!! PLEASE!!

      1. It ’empowered charisma’ magicstuff given by the goddess. Think about about like when playing like an even which doubles affection points on a Dating Sim/Galge but PERMANENT. It only increases affection points but does not ‘ensnare’ people.

        1. So her natural charisma was boosted, unlike with Trashmoki. Even before the summoning she seems quite charismatic, also unlike Trashmoki.

      1. I would think that she is aware she’s doing it, since she got a power that takes advantage of the people that believe in her, so she may have leveled it into an active skill by now. Then again, she was also putting effort into pushing those affection points higher, even if she played it off as a joke.

    1. kinda and not kinda

Trashmoki has a bewitching charm power in his eye, be it ally or enemy, it rob people of their will and turn them into love slave

Herobiki has an heroic charisma aura, the more people identify her as a hero, the more they trust her and value her opinion

so, there is two difference in the concept:
-in the first case, simply meeting his eye is enough to become enslaved while in the second case, she has to “act as a hero” for the effect to work and it doesn’t require eye contact
-as for the effect, the first is pure enslavement, to the point where people would gladly suicide on the spot if commanded to, but it can be cured magically, the second is more insidious, it’s more in the work of suggestion, like you feel as if everything the Hero says is the truth an make sense, even if you suppress all magic, you’ll still remember agreeing with her

so basically method 1 is aggressive and give the power to quickly take full control, turning people into puppets; method 2 is slower, less flashy, less powerful, less detectable, has wider range with harsher activation condition and people are still people

      1. But it’s part of why Hibiki was judged to have a higher threat level than Tomoki by the demons. One creates puppets, the other creates fanatics. Which is more dangerous?

      2. I think Hibiki’s ‘charm’ are much more dangerous, because it can’t be detected with magic, or tools, and more dangerously Makoto didn’t even realize it.

    2. I would say that Hibiki and Tomoki’s powers are different in nature, even if the final result is similar.

Hibiki’s power is like a natural amplification to her normal charm/charisma. If she does something you like, you might like it more than if someone else did it. But if she does something you don’t like, you still won’t like it. If Hibiki does not try to charm you, there’s no effect at all.

Tomoki’s power is brainwashing. It doesn’t matter what he says or does, you will agree with him and like it.

The difference is also why the Demons wanted to target Hibiki first. Her power helps her convince people to like her, and helps change their minds, but of their own free will. It’s like if you met George Clooney or something. Even if Hibiki dies, the people are still able to choose their own actions.

Tomoki’s power turns people into puppets. If he gets killed, then they can no longer function.

    1. Well, she doesn’t brainwash people. She’s at the level of poaching people from a rival company. Not using charm power, but her natural charm, and showing Lime what he got to gain if he chose her.

      1. IIRC, she does have a charm power–in fact her ability is very similar to Trashmoki’s, differing in that her charm power is passively active while Tomoki has to activate his in order to supplant his will into others. Hibiki’s charm ability is always active, being expressed through her words and actions, and makes people more inclined toward favoring her in a more natural way, rather than outright overtaking their will as Tomoki does. Her charm is much more dangerous than Tomoki’s, for she has the ability to weave her will into people’s thoughts and favor subtly and make them think that they came to their influenced conclusions themselves, whereas Tomoki outright plants his will into others.

      2. She is brainwashing people passively. It basically is no different from an actor, or actress getting the approval of people through an act and the people would be a tard to the point that they would defend them to death.

Tomoki is much more aggressive, but it is the same shit.

      1. Actually, from Makoto’s dream… it’s pretty far from not hurting anyone.
Remember that every version of Makoto that came to know well both heroes came to hate them to death.

Heck, every faction in this series is pretty gray, and the most reasonable ones ATM IMO are the demon side, even if they’re manipulative AF

    2. she is smarter, and she will not pick a fight she may not win. honestly i fell she is just too pridefull. good and evil is relative to the POV of each person. so far she’s on a gray zone.

    3. right just like a politician, two faced lady that does not even know it herself, using others and making it seem like it. also does she know about this power, like her charm does she know that she is doing this. obviously trashmoki knows it but does she because I feel that the hyumans and goddess again are tricking her and she will get crashed when this happens

      1. If she didn’t know, she wouldn’t have chosen the Super Sentai power up, that gives her more power based on the number of people who believe in her, and then her costume helps in getting attention.

      2. So does her power act like a multiplier (e.g number of follower x100) or absorber (the followers power added to her stat), in which why she is trying to get Lime is much more logical. Because if its the multiplier kind the quantity is more needed

      1. I’d have to go with the god. Any other choice, and it’d be the girl, but there are always other girls. Witnessing the ascension of a god? That’s the kind of shit that happens once every million years.

      2. ….I’d have to go with love, actually.

The thing about witnessing the rise of a god is…well…It doesn’t really do much for me in terms of self-interest. Would it give my existence meaning or something? Eh…I’m fine with what I’ve got.
Maybe it’ll captivate me? But I’m making this choice so obviously not enough. Maybe it’ll be protection and power? But I don’t need power that much and if I’m worried about my safety, it’s a whole other choice.

So yeah, I’ll take the super attractive, popular, and all around multi-talented lover.

  2. Thanks for the chapter as always……
well,well,well……….. did Hibiki likes LIme? hahahah
And at least LIme already decided his choice……..

    1. that one way to look on how Hibiki feels for Lime but here is a different one.
let say you know a group that have not only power people but have so many secrets that you don’t know if there good or bad.
now one of them comes over to help and he bound to know something do to him being around the head of the group.
now if you manege to win him over just for much of that group secrets will you have and he also can fight.
for if i remember right Hibiki had ever thing handed to her so she use to haveing ever thing going her way and her one chants to get not only a power full member in her party but a ton of confedenchel info of the group you want to know more about.
so in short Hibiki even if she not aware of it she can slowly control any one over time i mean for crying out loud she basically have the king eating out of her hand now.

      1. @Pepal: hey are you doint this on purpose? You write good things, but your spelling… please correct that?

    2. No hibiki does not like or love or affectionate at him. Her power is like more follower = more powerup (maybe like Yuusha Furi, in which is a down right cheat).

I think that Tomoki is much more preferable to me (yes you read that right), he’s not playing good, just his real self, although weak and patethic.

While hibiki is totally a snake, just like the goddess, sneaky manipulative who colors her action white while acting on the shadows, deceptive as fuck.

      1. That “Nakama Power” or Power of the Carebear. There is way too many author who used this theme power and its getting on my nerves now. Theres also Ippo too! Damn power of friendship!

        1. It does have some basis in reality. Those we love often provide a large amount of motivation for us. The problem is, it’s become a freaking asspull, and completely overdone scenario.

      2. You know, Lime did mention that she was getting stronger everyday which was pretty strange to me till I remember, the ability she received from whoever that was, does it allows her to get strong the more people she “naturally” pull to her side? So it was because Lime was leaning toward following her that she was getting strong…… Hibiki, you are really one frightening child….

        1. I keep hearing arguments of Tomoki being better than Hibiki under the “At least I admit it” argument.

I don’t actually remember this detail about Tomoki. In fact, didn’t the Tomoki of Makoto’s second dream try to justify his Nuke spell as deterrence? Can someone refer me a chapter(or even just the arc of the story) if this really was a thing?

      3. Personally I find sneaky politicians to be more preferable than rapists. Braiwashing people then having sex with them counts as rape in my book.

        1. Didn’t Makotwo say it was more akin to masturbating at that point? Since the people have basically lost all sense of self, it’s more like he’s effectively killing them in my book.

Like…If you killed someone, then reanimated them immediately after for sex. That’s not rape anymore right? It’s more like…murder and desecration of the dead? And having a really weird kink.

Main point of Hibiki being less deplorable than Tomoki still stands, of course.

          1. Of course. Though I find murder a less hineous crime than rape. For murder, at most the death penalty. For rape, death by torture.
Sorry, I just really hate rapists! And I know my ideal punishment for rapists are extreme by other people’s standards, some even called me a barbaric monster to my face. You kill someone, they’re dead, the end (at least for them). You rape someone, they would suffer from it for a long time. Some driven to suicide.

          2. That’s fair enough. A fate worse than plain old death for an offense arguably worse than plain old death.

Well, when it comes to horrific punishments, humans would certainly be an expert.

  3. wait, what? she was really trying to fish Lime from Makoto? I thought him being led astray was due to hibiki’s kindness.

  4. Wait , she actually took credit for that ? Okay … not exactly heroic in my book. And I hope Tomoe trains Lime a bit after this, he needs a bit more refreshment.

    1. She was told to take the credit.
I don’t think she likes it, since it cost her. All her effort to recruit Lime just went down the drain.

    2. Honestly i dont think she an steal lime anymore so he doesnt need training, after thag display of power from makoto lime basically pledged his loyalty again for a final time

  5. Thanks for the chapter. 🙂

Spoiler-san said: “Now that you know a part of Hibiki’s side. There is no sane hero on this novel. I have warned you”

    1. The one who summoned them wasn’t sane in the first place. That’s also might be one of many reason why ‘bugdess’ choose them to replace makoto.

    2. Truck-kun! Where is Truck-kun when you need him!? Hit this SPOILER until nothing remains! This is crossing the line! I didn’t want this spoiler! T-T
Don’t do this to us when we want to read good development and story! No spoilers! Spoilers should be removed!

      1. how exaggerated. If you don’t want to get spoiled, why do you keep reading his post? He even “specifically” indicate that it is a spoiler. And yet you keep reading it each time despite the warnings. I can’t say the exact thing on other ppl who gives out spoilers w/o proper warnings though. Truck-kun may have mercy on their souls.

You should know whos who already considering youve gotten this far, and start avoiding those people if you don’t want to be spoiled. The comment section is usually buzzing with liveness due to the novels popularity, im pretty sure skipping 1~2 names ain’t gonna cost you.

contrary to your belief, some ppl look forward to a bit of a spoiler, not major, but a bit.

        …just my opinion.

  6. By the way guys, I’m not so sure that this a ship.

“The first person that Hibiki wished for the most, had slipped from her hands.

    She understood this.

And Hibiki was trying not to show her emotions in her face, but this time she was unable to.

She was mortified, and those feelings welled up to her throat.

That she didn’t say anything was maybe because of her obstinacy.”

I think it’s possible that she was trying to gain his power. A chess piece which holds power but is weak enough to be controlled sort of thing. *shrugs*

    Just a thought.

    1. I think she saw Naval in Lime, and tried to acquire him.

But the only way to leave the Kuzunoha Company is through death.

Two Onee-sans will happily help you on the way.

      1. If they need a “Lime Latte” in Kuzunoha with a “Cute Komoe” training program, then im up for that and call me “Choco Lemon”! XD

    2. Agreed with you personally dont think that she liked him for what he was but just to obtain a pawn with great power. which is a good thing she failed though knowing hes conected to asora and all which would be bad for makoto side.

        1. Eh. I can still see something of a ship in it.

Specifically, Lime means something to Hibiki that she’s emotionally severed herself from with anyone else. Because he reminds her of Navel, and his overall power, Hibiki can more comfortably “rely” on him. Coupled with the fact that Lime more or less sees through her Hero Play, she can quit the act to some degree around him(plus this also contributes to their chemistry quite a bit).

This all makes Lime very desirable for her, outwardly as a pawn in her future plans, but also as something of a refuge for her to rest around. I feel like if Lime actually accepted Hibiki’s offer, she would have grown and gained a lot emotionally over time due to his influence.

          1. But now, who knows what’ll happen. She might begin to spiral, or worse, become determined to challenge Kuzunoha and try to gain Lime the way Tomoki plans to gain Tomoe. It’s painfully obvious that she doesn’t like to lose and be humiliated, and this is as bad as a humiliation as it gets for someone like her.

          1. Lime was a superior military and political chesspiece, and worthy to be married off to a Doctor’s daughter ruling another world. He was also handsome, because everyone with power in that world is(by bug’s decree), and he had a charming personality that suited her tastes. Check, check, and check, his suitability as a mate fits all criteria for someone as in control as Hibiki.

  7. A very emotional chapter by far, i think. Both Hibiki and Lime has good will toward each other, but the political position is the only thing…. no, the only Great Wall that stand in their way.
And again, thanks 4 the update.
    P/s: 5th comment, i think…

    1. We have different view in this chapter I see.. This chapter to me reveals a little of not so good side of Hibiki.

So far on the story, Hibiki was shown as on righteous side. Plus, since she and Trashmoki have same circumstance, we can’t help but compare the two of them. So her position as the righteous hero can’t be more acceptable.

Now I’d like to remind you that Hibiki choose to be sent to another world to look for more challenge since on Earth she can accomplish many things easily.
And the last part of this chapter about her losing to Makoto make matters involving Lime seems like she just want to take a bit of Makoto power and make it hers. In other word, she only sees all of it no more than a game that see has to win and Lime just a piece of it.

It shows us that Hibiki as a hero might not as righteous as she seems.

      . . . . .

… or I’m just overthinking all of this :/

      1. Well, a lot of people didn’t think that highly of Hibiki to begin with, so that bit wasn’t really new information. Hibiki did have a lot of…let’s call them character flaws that proved to be similarly dangerous to Tomoki.

It’s just that…well…Tomoki did such a good job being a scumbag hero that Hibiki shines a bit in comparison.

That final bit about winning or losing though…I’m not sure if that was Hibiki’s thoughts. I thought it was just narration.

        1. Yes, or more like she is more dangerous than Tomoki since she’s smarter. It’s good that she doesn’t have bad intention.. for now at least.

I thought that it’s just a narration too but I also thought that narration reflects what the character thinks, right? So it’s safe to assume that narration means Hibiki thought that she lost to Makoto.

      2. Nope, your not over thinking it. You are completely right about her and how people glorify her because in comparison she seems a lot better than that piece of shi…trash Tomoki.

  8. Thanks for the chapter, Reigokai-sama!

    *bows*

Well, Lime was almost leaning towards the Hibiki camp, until he made the call to Tomoe.

When those Wing-kin appeared and it was mentioned that they can form a link with anyone, I instantly knew they were gonna link up with Makoto.

And Lime, you are surely underestimating Makoto, aren’t you?

He’s regarded you as a member of his group, he’s not gonna think about killing you just because you spent a BIT more time with the hero.

Unless you give him a reason.

What Makoto did there was like a Macross Missile Massacre.

He was able to create a Silver Pair of Arms capable of tanking and erasing an AoE spell fired by a pervert superior dragon after all.

Targeting millions of minuscule organisms while avoiding anything else is a simple thing.

And Makoto unknowingly slapped Hibiki in the face with that stunt, and rightly so.

You don’t steal anything from the Kuzunoha Company. Not even if you are a hero.

I just hope she takes this lesson to heart.

    We don’t want another Trashmoki.

    1. well…. she still need some kind of event to slap her in the face to show that world is not as kind as the BUG bitch describe where the hyuman is ABSOLUTE JUSTICE and the demon-kin is ABSOLUTE EVIL

      1. I think Hibiki wasn’t in Rotsgard that time, actually no one knows how Kuzunoha Company deals with those jamming devices. They only know that Kuzunoha Company is able to do it. So, Hibiki still don’t know just how strong is Makoto.

        1. Sairitz from Lorel doesn’t know how it was done, but she knows Makoto did it personally as soon as she asked him to do it. Hence her freak out before she was told about the attacks on Gritonia and Limia.

    2. Remember the part when they talk about Naval… Her departure not only left a scar on Hibiki, it also left a legacy… Of vengeance and racism against the demons, something she will be not aware until her next reunion with Makoto, after some talk, some random fight, some attempted murder in a sparring match and another stuff. If I’m not mistaking anything.

        1. Just something to keep the community interested with the series, you know, fanning the flames of curiosity and raising the expectation. I kinda feel that this series is worth of that.

          1. Because if there’s one thing 300+ comments in two days proves, it’s that the community doesn’t have enough expectation and investment. 😛

          2. More or less, that’s why is necessary, sometimes, to shake the foundations of what the community thinks to increase the hype.
Apart of that, this is one of the communities that I am glad to participate, thanks to the dedication of the translator (kind of late, but thanks for your work Reigo-san, the primary pillar of this realm) and the comments of readers, that maintain the enjoyment until the next release. Really thanks to all of you to make this community feel like a home in the internet. Until the next chapter, Ciao, greetings from Chile.

    3. An amazing stunt like destroying a cloud with a tactical missile while avoiding everyone in that area, all those are done by Makoto in his little free time like taking a walk in the park.

      1. bribing Mio? its possible since maybe Mio does not find possible danger. Asora can’t be attacked, can attack anywhere, has army that can rival Hyumans, and each of the top 4 can be obeliterated country army in matter of weeks

I’m just curious what if Hibiki also found out that the spider that hand them their first defeat is defeated by Makoto in beginning of the story…

  9. (…To drop in the middle of it would be a waste. I am a member of Kuzunoha Company, Lime Latte.) – Lime Latte

Sounds meaningful then Lime Latte just breaks the mood.

    Thnks fr d chptr!

    1. Agreed, I can get why the readers don’t like Hibiki because that’s how she’s written to be, but I’m actually slightly invested in seeing how her life turns out. Tomoki too, but it’s more about how far he’s going to go and where he’s going to inevitably stop.

Unlike Tomoki, I can actually imagine Hibiki maturing, learning, and rising above the various things that hold her back. If it weren’t for Makoto, in fact, she would probably be the main character. The end game of this novel could have her still alive and slowly figuring herself out without the Hero bull she’s weighing herself down with. Or she could die with Tomoki, who knows?

….Actually, it would be kinda interesting if both heroes actually survive to the end of the story. Sort of to show off Makoto’s “Neutral Path” policy and how that path is what got him so far. It’s not that far-fetched since the timelines where he picked a side in either direction didn’t really work out.

      1. I’d only be interested if, at the very least, Tomoki has a way to release his charm powers and undergoes an evolution in character where he vows to never use them again (because he realizes how much of a piece of shit it makes him).

    2. Hibiki is running standard hero template, get comrades, lose comrade on important battle, get powerful summon, have sentai cheat power, everybody likes her AND not naive to boot. Objectively, she passed Makoto in every way if you take out “power”. Its just that Makoto has so much superior firepower that every threat against him is pretty much moot and can only damage mentally

      1. I would add that Makoto doesn’t discriminate against any other race. Well, it may be because of the environment where Makoto tasted discrimination first thing in that world while Hibiki being a hero and having a hyuman society couldn’t help being discriminate towards other race.

    1. I don’t actually have a good read on how Hibiki feels about Lime.

She’s obviously got a very good impression of him if she’s fine with outright marrying him(though I’m not sure how significant it is to her politician approach). At the same time, she seems to be trying to get him primarily as a valuable fighting force.

So is what she’s feeling at the end of the chapter grief from heartbreak, letting a valuable asset get away, or a wounded pride? Well, it’s probably all three actually, but which one is it *primarily* then?

      1. Their current world allow polygamy for all genders as long as the person is beautiful, marriage is as useless as it will ever get.

      2. From a politician point of view, marrying a no name adventurer is a terrible idea. The man is strong, but his personal might and wits aside, he has nothing going for him. She could simply marry one of limia’s princes or high ranked nobility to increase her authority, or even marry into the lorel union to decrease the political tension between the two nations and gain a huge amount of supporters.

  10. hmmm. was this the same cloud? or was this a different purple cloud? because from the last chapter, it seemed like makoto was AT the cloud, and you would think he would notice Hibiki and friends trying to fight it. or tdid the cloud reform?

    1. Just an opinion of mine.

Those purple cloud things might be like the Geth in Mass Effect.

Hence, when Makoto ‘killed’ the purple cloud he met earlier, he felt that it was a fake.

    2. I’m actually kind of confused with that too. If it’s the same scene from different perspectives, that could be cool.

Or if Makoto is off-handedly doing this while taking care of the REAL errands in his life, that’d be cool too.

      1. From a what Tomoe said the cloud mghat not be one creature but a cluster making a larger being or a very small thing that expanded. She said it is only dangerous when it gets big. Matoko might have only destroyed it’s nucleus or central bounds

    3. Makoto severed the connection of a colony of these purple clouds, because it looked like the vital point of it, and that made it split up and scatter in different directions.

  11. just when i woke up and suddenly new chapter, thank you reigo-sama !
damn now makoto already become a sniper, using the winged-kin as spotter like a freakin Drone and snipe the enemy from a far now we need for the eldwas for making their own Drone

    1. I don’t even remember them being able to do that. If that was a feature though, then no wonder the winged-kin are overpowered monsters. They’re invaluable support for Makoto’s own battle power.

  12. Well the Lime ship that was just about to leave the harbor with the prospect of setting sail to land Hibiki was cancelled due to the one purple cloud which had a forecast of bad weather but was swiped away along with all doubts the captain had and captive the heart and mind to stopping the ship and redirect it back on it’s rightful course.

  13. Well this was an interesting chapter. It’s probably one of my favorite Gossip chapters.

Hmm. I’m not sure how to interpret this detail of Navel’s past. Does this mean that Hibiki’s Charisma power actually really ingrained itself in her? That sort of extreme change in character isn’t exactly impossible, but it does have the same feel Tomoki’s Charm power has. It’s actually kind of fascinating seeing Lime’s thoughts as her power slowly bleeds into him. It’s more or less just her being very convincing in her ideas.

But an “act” huh? There’s been references to it in comments before, but this is the first time in my memory that it’s been specifically stated that Hibiki is “playing a hero”. Under any other circumstance, the reasoning would be fine and even here there isn’t technically any flaw except Hibiki herself. Since the Hero herself is weak, she’s sorta become a beacon that everyone bond themselves with…and end up getting dragged into the abyss together with. How unfortunate.

…..Of course Makoto then completely ruins it with pure power, as usual. It was seriously just a passing thought for him, wasn’t it? A pure strength that crushes charisma and charm in a half-hearted oppression. I’m really curious now. This story is really building Makoto up as this Strange Organism that’s something of a hybrid between god and cosmic monstrosity. But he’s also been written as extremely passive with little desire of his own. What exactly would the end goal be for his character?

    1. for me i think since the beginning makoto really doesnt want to achieve or desire for anything, he just want to live modestly but instead fate intertwine with it making him make pact with powerfull entities and given a world from a contract with a servant which also be used by the servant to build kingdom which harboring any race that have the same view as the master that just want to live happily with everyone without the fear of having to fight for land or war (for the war unless it is request or order from the higher ups to move its rarely be done)
for the end goal i think we still have to wait for a long time for the author to finish the novel :3

    2. So Makoto is an Old One? Most Cthulhu just seems to exist after all, not bearing any ill will towards humans. Just that their very existence drive people crazy.

      1. Isn’t that a pretty apt comparison to Makoto? All he really does is exist, and he’s constantly drawing people in, scaring other people away, and making huge impacts whilst living his daily life.

    3. His passive nature is what I find most endearing about him. He is not a strategist nor was he ever aggressive in the “real world”. He approaches situations with the logic of past experience and reacts given the situation presented to him. He doesn’t have the “i have seen ten moves ahead and know what will happen” reactions with carthatic badass payoffs. Most of his payoffs occur besides him being involved. Like when he was grilled by the merchant and outright derided. Only for the merchant to later find out the actual character of Makoto and possible outcome of antagonising him from an acquaintance with minimal interaction with Makoto.

Also that is why he has Shiki, Tomoe and Mio. I consider each to compensate for whatever he is lacking. ANd I enjoy that his companions actually do others things when they are not around. Because in most other novels when the members are not present its like they are put in a stasis until they are next needed to continue the plot or the mc needs a helping hand. That always bugs me.

He does have goals [ expand kuzunoha company, find a way to sever his link with the goddess, expand his magic pool, oversee Asora…] but he lacks a main motivating goal like how the heroes only need to kill the demons. And that is why i like him. He had to make his own goals. He has no reason to be anything other than neutral given his character, situation and current goals.

      1. All very good points.

Actually, I think what I like most is that despite his followers being technically below him as slaves, they’re all taking charge and guiding him forward in their own ways. Lots of stories have a hero that inspires and leads his party through the journey, but it’s almost the opposite here because Makoto’s personality is passive and lacks desire.

It’s like Makoto himself is a massive bundle of power and potential and the people he chooses as followers are the ones he permits to take this and shape it.

      2. Regarding the Shiki, Tomoe, Mio parts, that’s actually really apt. You may have been thinking differently, but my personal opinion is:

Shiki – The additional intelligence, wit, and knowledge of this world that keeps everything under control.
Tomoe – The shady, scheming side that will find a way to get things done when there are no better options (so long as it’s for Makoto’s good; she has done stuff in the background without telling him before).
Mio – Makoto’s anger. At times where Makoto really could stand to get angry but doesn’t, she gets angry for him. Even if he usually holds her back, most people he interacts with by now know of her strength and don’t want her to be mad at them either.

    4. The world’s new God Raidou-no-hiki-no-Makoto doesn’t care what you do with the freedom he has granted you, so long as you don’t turn against his protected followers, or you will be dust.

  14. Thank you very much for the chapter!
Seriously, Hibiki is the character who I can’t make my mind up if I like her or not. Maybe if she didn’t have the “charisma” blessing :/ which makes me think that it’s still like she’s seducing people like what’s his face hero from the other country.

    1. I think she’s the most ‘human’ character in the story. Not good. Not evil. Just making the best decisions for her people she can. The one complaint I have about her is that she’s wanting to antagonize Makoto and Kuzunoha simply because he’s too powerful to control, he’s adamantly neutral, and she felt that he had some hostility towards the goddess in his tone of voice. Because of this, she’s planning to have Kuzunoha destroyed. Although, now Lime might be added to that list of reasons.

      1. Yes! That was the word I was looking for.

Hibiki is, ironically considering her status back on earth, one of the more human characters with a mix of emotions, desires, and circumstances. She’s doing her best and her best just turned out to be kinda…like this.

Actually, in that aspect, it would make her a good foil to Zef too, wouldn’t it?

    2. I believe that Hibiki is such an interesting character because of her flaws. The duality between her goals and the way she does things is beautifull, and gives her such a huge aray of possible outcomes depending on her possible character development that I can’t help but be delighted every time we get to read about her. I just hope that, if and when she decides to actively oppose Makoto or join him, she makes her choice based on believable reasons, and not only because heroes are the scum of this novel.

  15. Hmm… this is interesting. Makoto’s power literally breaks everything he is up against. Broke trashes charm power, overrode the charm Hibiki had, even shatters the perception of a fucking bug. Now was hibiki actually infatuated with Lime or only his power? I forgot.

  16. Thanks 4 the chapter!

Hibiki, you can’t compete with Kuzunoha Company unless you have hellish training camps, own relatively safe pristine beaches, able to create state of the art (magical or otherwise) equipments (even if they are embarrassing to wear), and a whole load of employee benefits.

    1. dont forget delicious fruits, a WORLD to living that’s mostly free from fighting (except the hellish training and the wild animal) and WAR-FREE-ZONE (unless Komoe-hime-chan do something silly like make the war-play with all the races in Asora)

      1. well if Komoe-chan being naughty we can always tell Papa Makoto and Mama Tomoe (yes i call them both her parent since she manifested from Tomoe body and Makoto’s magic essence guhehehehe) to punish the bad girl by spanking her buttock

  17. well, that went well, lime almost got himself on a dead-end. that’s the best service a phone call can get isn’t? calling an air strike.

lime: ” hello, i need an air strike”
tomoe: ” yes can you give me the coordinates and the time.”
lime: ” sure, i need it ASAP just right above me”
tomoe” wait a sec please the air strike will arrive in any moment now, thanks for using our services”.

    LOL, best service ever.

  18. As Lime had said, Makoto possess a power that is able to hold down anything no questions asked. Just one shot from him can even prevents Lime being NTR’d by Hibiki.

    1. Makoto for all your anti-NTR needs.

Sounds like we don’t need to worry about someone stealing Tomoe or Mio away. I thought that was obvious, but apparently that was a possibility for some other readers, so now we can dash those fears away.

  19. Pahahahaahahahahahaha, lol and Makoto wasn’t even aware xD

Waow, wasn’t expecting a ship between Hibiki and Lime tbh, but the sooner Makoto realises he’s idealising his senpai, the better :/ no matter how heartbreaking that chapter might be -.-

    Thankee for the chapter!!

  20. waaaat….
I still remember that one chapter whehere someone asked Hibiki if she’s interested in someone and she did think of one but she did not say who it was (Makoto is the only one who comes in my mind unless there’s another unnamed character xD)

And then the visitation chapter happened and judging by her actions while talking with Makoto I seriously “ah its him”.

But now that we discover Hibiki’s personality bit by bit its really hard to say. She wants Kuzonoha on her side and that might be the reason behind her ‘closeness’ to Makoto.(my ship </3)

Its really hard to know if she was serious about wanting to marry Lime and the fact that he's the first person she wished for (SINK THIS SHIP HAHAHAHAHA) there's also the fact that Lime reminds her of Naval.

Then again as someone as skillful as Lime she might be wanting him only as an addition to her power. haaaaaa….We need a deep Hibiki POV

    LET MY SHIP SAIL!!!!

  21. Trashmoki try to take Tomoe using bestowed charm, fail
Politics girl try to take Lime using bestowed charisma, fail
these heroes really like to take from others aren’t they and using almost the same method
if its just natural charm and charisma, Makoto won it all

    1. Now, we’ll be waiting for someone to try take Mio using, emm, food maybe? or a cookbook?

Either way, we know that it will fail at the last. We know that Mio’s hunger while in her spider form has been satisfied by Makoto’s magic power, and no one in the world has the same amount of magic power as Makoto (except maybe the Bugdess)

  22. For those who say Hibiki are like Trashmoki, she’s not. Trashmoki use brainwash & charm skill from bug while hibiki use her natural charm & charisma like what happened in earth (she become president council thanks to her charisma pulling people to her side and also make makoto admire her).
For Lime x Makoto ship, i fully support them since hibiki clearly have romantic feeling to lime and lime also have some romantic feel to her. It’s probably won’t happened for now but if lime ask makoto for permission to be with hibiki’s party, i’m sure makoto will give it.

  23. I was about to ragequit when it looked like Lime was going to join Hibiki… Then I yelled “YEAAAAH!!!!!” in my mind.

I really don’t like Hibiki even a bit and Lime was being seduced by her so it was frustrating to see that, but I’m really glad Lime didn’t decide to change sides (GJ Tomoe) and that Hibiki failed in accomplishing whatever she wanted to do as well as pulling Lime to her side.

I even think the dumbey irritating Hero of the Empire isn’t as Hateable for me as Hibiki. Well, I do hate Lily too tho.

  24. So, Hibiki use her Charisma in politics and mutual benefits, Meanwhile the other Hero use his Charm mainly for lust, greed, selfishness, idiocy, etc etc etc.

  25. i knew Hibiki d try to lure Lime but for him to fall in this trap even with Tomoe’s warnings:S
Human or hyuman whatever jealousy s scary srsly
tx for chap reigokai do send 1 moar pls:DD

  26. I thought Hibiki was interested in Makoto as in Hibiki PoV. She said that only one person in the school she is interested in…
What the F happened to her ??? She became dangerously whore

  27. I’m late again…
Well, Reigokai fulfilled his/her promise to give chappy every 4 days… and that is great. Thank you Rei.

  28. Uh uh….
Hibiki…. idk what to say…. only,,, can you stop trying to steal people from makoto side?
First mío, now lime…. and I am pretty sure, she wanted lime for kuzuhona secrets too,,,,
I dislike hibiki more as time goes….
maybe from her pov, is the right choice, she see op people and want in her side…. but from my view , she will gain more, if she can form a sincere relation with makoto, even makoto has the sempai-kohai in his bones, mío and tomoe never will allow mishap…. and hibiki could get a terrorífic enemy out of them thanks to her doings….
yes she is not at trashmoki level…. but …. she is level up….

  29. Lime got charmed and want to see how high Hero can reach, he forgot he’d been following God all this time.

Will Hibiki turning to dark side, now that her man got stolen?
She what Lime to fill the hole in her party, the role the reliable swordwoman left.
Makoto really beat her real hard this time.

    1. well if he change side without informing makoto, i believe Tomoe and Mio will instanly give him DEATH WARRANT so he can never leak the information of kuzunoha company nor asora to anyone else and they can just tell makoto that lime was KILLED IN ACTION

      1. Yeah, I can see Tomoe giving the order to have him silenced. She likes Lime, but only so much as an immortal dragon can like a mortal. If he betrays Makoto, she wouldn’t hesitate to remove him. If this were any other story, I’d say Tomoe would have some ketchup on hand when she does it.

  30. Thanks for the chapter, Rei-san!

Hibiki’s power reminds me of Celes’ charm skill (from Sevens) on a lesser scale.

    She’s a smart one, though.

She uses her acting skills (manipulation) in combination with her charm power to win people over.

I think that’s what she was trying to do with Makoto when they were chatting, but fortunately for her, Makoto was already charmed by her even before they got sent to another world.

She definitely revealed that she was mostly acting heroic in public to bring Lime closer to her, since people feel closer to a person when they share a secret.

I liked her at first, but now she’s just slowly getting on my nerves. Especially at times when she’s messing with the Kuzunoha company.

    1. I agree, when Makoto shot that light it reminded me when Lyle killed M*****(T_T) and then the Jewel began raining down Blue light on charmed people freeing them of the ‘charm’ . Celes charm skill is NASTY. Its like activating ‘the slave program’* hidden within a person’s subconscious. *Used the word program since we know the goddesses were scientist.

  31. i think Hibiki’s charm is way more dangerous than Trash’s
and quite alot people in earth history had this charm (Joan’d Arc, Napoleon, Hitler, etc) its nature charm of a zealous leader

  32. Thanks for the chapter. Those comments are funny indirect bitch slap, i dont like ntr lime almost got ntr. I feel like hibiki will be a pain in the ass in the future event. Good luck makoto. =)

  33. I wonder just how much influence Hibiki’s ‘charm’/boosted charisma affected Lime… But glad Makoto’s OP’dness managed to dispel that effect xD Now Makoto needs to deliver another beatdown to Tomoki and I think I’ll say this is the greatest novel ever xD xD xD

  34. Don’t think she really liked him, he’s just strong and would be a good pawn to have at her disposal. She herself doesn’t think her mindset as twisted but, she’s riding a path that can be compared to Mr. Adolf, using her charisma and propaganda to consolidate a favourable opinion from the masses and then finally rise as ruler in a “democacy” created by her. Hence the justifiable fear that Tomoe has of Hibiki being able to sway Makoto over to her side.

    1. That’s the whole point of why people here are starting to hate Hibiki and compare her to Tomoki. She was looking Lime as a pawn all the time, and was frutrated when ”thanks” to Kuzunoha Company Lime didn’t go with her. All of this is complemented with the dreams Makoto had, where he hated her because she manipulated people while ”playing to be a saint” and a hero

  35. The danger of her power is that no magic can block it(since its not something that directly affects you), its kind of a drug that slowly eats you, Thrashmoki one is kind of that instant drug that will work imediately but it will disperse if you give the person an antidote(but will still show some with withdrawal symptoms).

  36. There is a reason why Tomoe doesn’t like Hibiki… It’s normal saying that Hibiki desire peoples with power to her ‘side’, but at the same time.. Tomoe realize that Hibiki has personality which completely shut the possibility of herself choose ‘others side’. In this case, ‘others side’ is Makoto side. Would Hibiki accept being a someone as underling of Makoto’s ? Even Demon Lord Zef would abdicate under Makoto’s rule but not Hibiki. Tomoe doesn’t like this since Hibiki priority is base on calculation on how she gained things.

To be exact of my opinion on how between Heroes and Makoto recruit their underling
    – Tomoki – Simply forcefully using power or ability => Psyho?
    – Hibiki – tactically using Various factor to boast her image to others affections => Politician?
    – Makoto – Creatures can’t helped but revere him once know his true power = King? Deity? God?

  37. Hibiki and Lime WHEN and WHERE did this start!
I mean were talking about LIME here the one which Tomoe TAMED!
I was like what the hell
When did HIBIKI fall in love !? *sigh* japanese novel….

      1. well yeah after reading various comment I also learned that answer
I was also hopefull for her but it turns out
she became one of the trash character that would be MC’s enemies so starting today I feel like ignoring her shes lower than minor characters in my eyes (don’t worry trash-kun is below her lol)

I mean nothing is more EVIL than a person who don’t even realize she is evil and manipulative and only think that all her action is justified and right for the sake of her goal

  38. So with the Winged-Kin acting as “Satellites”, Makoto just achieved Ballistic Missile-Level Srike Precision….

And with his “arrows”, he has nukes. :/

      1. i think instead just awe and terror they mostly faint with pee on their pants (or panties ? does that world already have the technology for special kind of undergarmen or battle underwear ?)

  39. people seem to forget that like both trashmoki and two-faced hero girl, makoto also has mind control powers. Its just that his one outstanding and default use of the power is to have people act the way they want to.

    1. That’s actually a good point.

Makoto actually has some sort of “Captivation Power” of his own. Since he caught the attention of his club members in a triangle back on earth, it’s arguable that he’s always had it too. Whenever he demonstrates his power, either when he met his followers, various Asoran residents, or even the soldiers that witnessed him during the first incident where he became a “devil”, he’s been enthralling people the whole time.

    2. Nah raw power has that effect on people. Remember humans always followed the strong. Do not compare makoto And the others heroes it’s not the same thing. It’s a natural instinc.

    3. While you do have some point, it’s not really A ‘power’ per say, more like ‘pure power’. All living beings follow the strong. Even the students at the academy have been ‘enthralled

      1. I messed up. What I was trying to finish saying was that even the hyumans whose animal instincts are worse than humans are attracted to him. His followers are mamonos and those who pay attention to that sort of thing. It’s only natural that a dragon, which personifies strength, a spider, one of the ultimate predators, and a lich that had devoted himself to attaining strength to the point of throwing away everything, would be entranced by his raw power.

    4. The difference with Makoto is that people follow him out of their own free will, unlike with Trashmoki and Hibiki who forces their wills onto other people (Hibiki is less forceful, but her ability still changes the will of others and make them think a certain way. The proof is Naval and Lime).

Makoto actually gives his followers freedom and doesn’t force them to do anything they don’t want to.

Although, most of the time his power has the opposite effect and antagonises people towards him until he gives them a reason to back off. Most of the time he does this without noticing the effect he has on people.

  40. no need sweet talk…. or awesome gift…. show him the Greatness of Makoto…. and “Boom” ~ Hibiki got NTR’ed even before the relationship begin…..
thats the price for Look down the Makoto so much and trying to steal From Kuzunoha Company…
seriously… what kind of senpai who want to take advantage of her kouhai and steal his companions….
just because your a “senpai” doesn’t mean your Kouhai is inferior to you Hibiki-kun……

  41. Good job Lime! Good job Kuzunoha Company! Smack in that conniving witch’s face! I didn’t like that Hibiki’s morals had changed so drastically. Especially using her kouhai or trying to use him and his assets. I was sad at how she had become different from my expectations. I guess she was like that from the start. Tomoe guessed right, she really is like a politician.
    Thanks for the chapter!

      1. She admitted to them changing due to her role and circumstances as a hero of the Kingdom. I guess “adapted” is more precise a word for the change. Seeing that she already had some understanding of the society and her talents.

  42. Hibiki needs to make up her mind of how she’s going to relate to Makoto, because this half-way tease is kinda silly.

  43. Anyone who edits Tsuki ga michibiku isekai douchuu TV trope page should add this scene as ‘Awesomeness Is a Force’. By merely doing what he did Makoto dispelled Hibiki’s passive ‘charm'(Charisma) ability/enchantment.

  44. Lot of people say hibiki loves Lime ,the heck dudes ,I wish ice cream now but thas not means i fall in love with the ice cream…………

Bye the way in your face Hibiki 🙂

    Thanks Reingokai-sempai

    1. It’s not just that she wants him. It’s the way they interact.

I doubt Hibiki herself could tell anyone how she felt about him, but since the last chapter they had together, Hibiki and Lime have had good interaction and it seems conceivable for a relationship to work between those two.

      1. Yeah could be,but she just want him because is strong and knows things about kuzunoha, somehow she saw in him hers old friend dead.

  45. With this chapter, my evaluation towards Hibiki has slide to negative area. Seriously, her natural charisma is more dangerous than Tomoki’s charm power. All that plus Hibiki’s politician attitude makes it horrible. My impression of her is like someone who do something good for other people, but behind all that she is planning to use the people as she like it. Her POV chapter may give me better opinion of her.

And then, once again, we all infatuated by Makoto’s OPness. He is literally destroying a cloud with his tactical arrow while avoiding everyone in the area, all that is done in his little free time like walking in the park.

Thank you Reigokai-san for the chapter. Good work as always.

  46. Hah!! I wouldve been happy if Lime turned against Kuzunoha. And when, the confrontation comes expect this what im about to do to you Lime:

(Give first a thumps up with a smile for getting a fanatic hero bride with a bonus erotic underwear that could already be said as a night battle gear. Then, slowly put the thumb near the neck and make slitting neck move and then change face expression of wanting to thrash you to dust and next show my thumb going down as if you’re already dead with and evil smile just for you!)

  47. Thx as always 😀

Quite late to comment, i think it was the same purple cloud that makoto shot before… But previously he didn’t mention the winged kin so maybe tis not the same one?

  48. Hibiki… annoying!
Let Lime betrayed Kuzunoha Company, but sadly he don’t wanna betrayed Makoto.

But, it’s the first time I felt annoyed towards this series.

      1. I was eating some ramen, when I suddenly read the vanilla part
And I learned that Noodles can actually be blown from your nostrils, and that it burns

        Anyway thanks for the chap~

      2. seriously, i felt disgusted at Hibiki, i thought she would be a nice kind of hero that would ally with Makoto wholeheartedly but instead she tried to veer off Lime’s loyalty towards herself and thought of it as a competition between her and Makoto. I hate these manipulative girls in novel but that makes it very interesting. We were shown clearly the dangerous side of Hibiki and how Tomoe sees her. Stupid Makoto, notice it already!

  49. I wouldve like the scene where the NTR gets a revenge ticket:

    Hibiki gets Lime

    Makoto gets Chiya!

A fine play is what i wouldve want to see

    1. Even Lime have more Hero vibe than Makoto to drag Hibiki heart … Is a waste an op mail character if he dont have anny love affair… What Makoto Will have is a Air gildfriend.

Thank you for the ecxelent work u are my favorite translator and Hope yo see more ir your great work on anny other novel or web novel

  50. Thanks for the chapter reigokai-sensei..
Waw my tought that hibiki will become “heroin-senpai that often teasing her junior MC” play, scattered…..
Anyway waiting a chapter makoto lecture n how are you yono, sif n makoto party at tsige

  51. Yuuuck hibiki is disgusting, the way she uses her charm, atleast the other dude is open about it but she is lurking in the shadows

    1. …Are you actually turned off by flirting?

For some reason, I find this a funny weakness for someone named “Maou”. :p

      1. more like she tryed to bring Lime over to her side for not only she might have fellings for him but also something …darker for why did she known that he had a change of heart unless to put it bluntly she was planing to keep him like a surten hero that tryed to take Tomoe.
….”sigh” why is it that the heros are trying to take Raidou people and stuff that he worked to get like some kind of spoiled kid i mean honestly ever kingdom is being lazy and telling them to work for them in the war at least the demons gave up on the idea.

        1. Because Makoto has already gathered some of the best talents in the world, and they can turn out more talented individuals with their training and resources. Honestly, so many headhunters can probably be considered a compliment to Kuzunoha. Their employees are valuable resources that everyone wants.

    2. Hibiki is also a politician, I’d be surprised if she didn’t try this. And personally I find politician more forgivable than rapists. Unless the politician is also a rapist or a maniac who enjoys killing innocents.

        1. No need to use the F word! Even if it is in an acronym. And why bring up Bill Clinton? I don’t have anything against him.

        1. *sighs* And when I try to act as though I’m part of a niche group (Everything belongs to Makoto! Anything lost is stolen! (NTR’d)), I’m being told what I’ve already read… It’s nice not being corrupted isn’t it? Aah, the days when the first step is where all ends, where have those gone (a.k.a. I know that he would have let Lime go if he asked it!).

  52. What I find most irritating is how Makoto is blatantly glorifying her despite knowing what his older self said about her(even though a name wasn’t said, Makoto was able to guess that older Makoto was talking about Hibiki) and now even his most trusted followers is warning him about her and he still isn’t taking it to heart.

Hopefully Mio can work her way around her thickheaded Waka-sama and manipulate the situation so Hibiki will show her true colors to him.

    1. Well this happens ALOT in JP novels, if the evil person is a japanese or a good looking girl it is instantly forgive and forget no matter what that person does. They also always believe JP people are automatically good. While in this novel Hibiki hasn’t reall done anything bad versus Makoto yet, I agree to what your saying. But thats basically how Makoto is oblivious to most stuff.

To mention another example. A story where a jap girl tries to kill the MC, he get’s away, she then sends a death squad against the MC’s people and kills a bunch of them. MC get’s super mad and kills all of the people involved. But does nothing against the jap girl, except warns her if she tries again he will end her. Oh what happens? She attacks again with another force and tries to kill him fails this time. But you know it’s all good she’s a good looking jap girl a slap on the wrist is all she needs. Not like he tortured for day’s and then killed another guy from that world who was involved but didn’t even get a chance to do anything compared to her squad. Whoops yes he did. Oh and then he finds out him and everyone else is being brainwashed by another jap guy who also tricked him and led to the death of multiple children etc etc. But you know he’s japanese cant be all that bad right?

      1. Randomness178 I’m really curious about what history is this on? Slime?

About Makoto.Ignoring the fact that she represent no real harm to him, he was asked to care for the heroes. If not I doubt Tomoki would only get a few slaps.

      2. Your right, in chapter 177:
It seems Tomoe is kind of cautious of senpai huh.

I think she was taking the company- no -me into consideration when she did this.

In that case, maybe I am the one that is way too defenseless when with senpai?

But… she is Japanese and a senpai from the same school. Of course, she wasn’t a bad person.

Do I have to be cautious of someone like that too?

In previous chapters Makoto had already mentioned that he only superficially knows her and that they barely interacted with each other, so this benefits of doubt that he’s giving her is ridiculous.

What’s the name of that story you described?
Or that just a example of most isekai JP L-novels?

        1. Put it like this, you have a lider of a comunity that you barely interact with but is dependable and trusted in the neighborhood. Then you end up in a completely foreign enviroment where every thing is diferent from what you know and sudenly you find this lider of comunity ther. Wouldnt you put your trust in him if he hasn’t so far give you prove not to???

          1. Not really, especially if I’ve been burned as many times as Makoto.

Basically the new environment would taught me to at least be a bit more cautious around people that I don’t really know that well.

And if someone that I do trust and have been relying on is warning me to not let my guard down around “that person” then I will keep that I mind, and not just shrug it off with a reasoning like (“But that person is from same place as me and even though we barely know each other, I am certain that person won’t do me wrong.”)

In RL I’ve been burned a number of times before, so in RL I can’t really bring myself to trust others so easily.

    1. for some motive, i don’t really see any problem with rona, even if she is manipulative, she is quite okay, but on a basis of how much i don’t like them, hibiki 87/100 trashmoki 85/100, hibiki is actually a little bit worse.

      1. Yeah.. trashmoki shows it while hibiki hides it.. in the guise of being a perfect hero and if not then its worse cuase she’s subconciously doing it which means thats her real personality

      2. Except… Hibiki is using personality and such, I don’t think she’s being as bad as trashmoki. He’s equivalent to drugging people around him, and since he sleeps with so many of them (and offers them to others as well, saying they’re “well trained”) he’s pretty much raping girls. Same as Killgrave in Jessica Jones.

Hibiki is being a bit manipulative, but she’s trying to attract them honestly. She isn’t badmouthing Makoto. She isn’t trying to force him. She wasn’t trying to lie to get to him. She really wanted him on her team, and she let him know that. She even stated outright that she’s making an appeal to him. It works because Lime probably wanted to be a heroic person from the start, when he was a villain it was simply to help the adventurers in need in his town.

She does calculate, and she is wary of Makoto, but she’s not brainwashing people forcibly and raping them. I don’t see how they could ever compare, except that she’s more successful, probably because she’s a better person.

        1. i understand your point, and trashmoki is seriously bad, but from my point of view, hibiki is worse, it is a matter of personal opinion, i think you are viewing what she is doing too lightly, she is doing brainwashing, but it is the kind that need enough time to bloom and after it is worse than trashmoki charm power, because his you can dispel with magic, hers no, just this wouldn’t be enough, but what seals it all is: trashmoki is already half mad, he doesn’t think straight anymore, it doesn’t mean he can do whatever but it kills part of my hate because it is as expected, while hibiki is completely aware of what she is doing, and while i expected her to be bad, it wasn’t on this way.

          1. It has been stated the trashmoki charm if afected enogh time, can’t be dispelled by magic only in the initial stage and if caugh by someone strong. So the point of both charm is not if you become a puppet but a puppet fo which master.

      3. Isekai, I also think you’re being too harsh on her. What she’s doing, so far, really isn’t that different from how people generally try to win over people they like (and I think she honestly likes him). As Chatokun pointed, she hasn’t tried to make Kuzonoha or Makoto look bad, she’s trying to make her side look more appealing, and there’s nothing wrong with that.

        1. there was more going on then just doing what people generally do, Lime state should be enough of a cue(lime is a smart fellow, but did you see how dumb he was acting?), but i’m not going beyond this, it is my opinion, and i’m ok with you disagreeing, there are good arguments for both sides after all.

  53. Hibiki x Lime?? I approve it.. Honestly, i think Hibiki is better paired with the Demon King, but Lime is honest too and he can be a good pair with Hibiki..

    1. Nah, Zef and Rona are a canon ship. Io though…. Ihear he might be available.

And you know…. four hands. ~_^

  54. Gyahahah…I can only think of makoto as a devil cupid…he pierces through their fuwa fuwa relationship…ah, at least their story has a beginning :v good job

    1. Probably we already made hundreds of comments regarding who she is but none have a solid answer. I forgot which chapter that was though a bunch of smart novel readers who kmows myths well argued about it. LoL but its possible since she is hunged up on being beutiful and all.

      1. well she did made a world ware ever human’s are beautiful that a homeless baggier look’s are simuler to a model’s in are world soo….ya….. beauty = number one priority no mater what.

    2. many theory, tho my opinion would Hera, I see more similarity with her than aphrodite, tho I don’t much in myths, I think the reason why athena came was a hint that the godess is from grec pantheon (susano is japanese, and shiva used his japanese name and not “shiva”, but athena is grec).

      common point I know of:
hera wanted to make a child by herself, ended up ugly (hephaistos), so she reject him and trew him from the top of olympus.
the godess wanted to make a hero, he ended up ugly, she rejected him and trew him from the sky in the wastelands.

with the apple of discord, athena, aphrodite and hera fought for the title of most beautiful. when Paris had to choose:
-athena promised to give him victory in war
-aphrodite promised to give him love (of helene)
-hera promised to give him controle over men(people)

        1. after a quick search depending of the source. I find most thing like she offer “kingship”, “sovereignty”, a big territory, “power and wealth”. look like it would be “authority” rather than “controle”? now, I don’t wich source is good and what was the exact gift… maybe defferents version of the same legende?

          1. Hence why I could never be certain. If I could get the chance to interview these gods without worrying about asking the wrong question, I might not know where to begin.

    3. Oh~ A fellow ? AHAHAHAHAHAHAH !
If you’re interested that was a bit discussed in chapter 144 comments section.

  55. Hibiki should just get together with Makoto already. That’ll solve everything. But sadly her spot is already taken by the tomoe-mio combi

    1. nah, manipulative bitches should stay away from waka-sama. and i’m sure that she’ll be the most problematic character soon enough

    2. I believe that maybe she will end up in love with Makoto. I mean, different from Tomoki, her power is aways on. Basically, she has no real rellationships, if she stays long enough close to anyone that person would become a “Yes man” to her, more like a minnion than a friend. And Makoto is immune to that, basically he is the only person that could become something like a love interest to her..

      1. What do you mean, “immune”? He’s uselessly trusting, extremely dense, AND a fucking idiot; the easiest target of them all for her…

        1. He is immune to her blessing. If her likes her, admires her, trust her or not. It’s not because of the blessing. Being a good one or a bad one it’s the only real relationship that she could have in this world.

  56. Awesome Chapter but annoying! Thanks a lot dude.! i wonder what will it be in the next chapter, hope lime does not betrayed kuzunoha.

  57. NEW FLAG!
on another note tho where’s the love that everyone said?i see no love with hibikixlime at all
what i see is hibiki with her calculative thinking and weighing loses and gain obviously choose to have lime in her party, she is like a politician, acting in a way that can create a spark of good image, weak image, no so perfect hyuman image, to make people like her.
in what i see hibiki use ‘acting as a hero’ as a pretense to open up to lime.

and that last paragraph. i just remember that in the old world hibiki is a perfect woman, she can get anything she wants, so she losing lime is a huge blows to her (twisted) pride.

    1. i feel too like there’s no love, and she just wants Lime cause he can be the perfect substitute for Naval. and of course, her charming was clouding Lime’s judgemento.

      1. Its not Charm more like opposite of Charm and that is Charisma which was bestowed to Hibiki by BugDess but being use in a wrong way sadly Hibiki is a fucking the same as Tomoki or much worst taking advantage their help and poisoning them slowly you fucking whore!!! to get Information on Lime if Makoto knows this a much worst beating will be the prize for Hibiki and his country.

    2. She also has a hole to fill. In more than one way. She is missing a party member that he replaces perfectly. And she seems to want the long-dicking. But yeah, she’s spoiled. she’s manipulative, and she’s proud of herself to a fault. In this world, it’s going to get her curb-stomped.

      1. This is weird. On one hand you have a character constantly putting forth effort to battle a neverending parade of uphill confrontations that’s are often beyond her abilities, and on the other hand you have a guy who was basically just given the powers of a god for next to no reason and is threatened by absolutely nothing who spends all his time entertaining his own personal whims for his own self-satisfaction.

But you say SHE’S the spoiled one?

        1. Funnily enough, yes.

Makoto is being spoiled by his followers too, but a jeydifference between Makoto and her is their outlook.

Hibiki was so successful in her old life that she chose to go to another world for life out of sheer boredom and a desire to have those uphill battles. She, arguably justifiably, believes that victory is a given for her. So much that the idea of not winning interests her. It’s also why losing Lime to Makoto is such a mortifying experience for her. This is all a very spoiled mentality.

Makoto was handed a lot of power, but due to his experiences on Earth, plus his own apparent bad luck, he doesn’t take anything but his own power for granted and constantly underestimates himself(to be fair, the bar keeps rising). There’s a passiveness many people hate (I personally like it) but with it comes a humility.

      2. That makes sense until you realize that Makoto’s only trouble on Earth was that he is dense as fuck, as he was trained by a master martial artist and excelled with a talent he constantly undervalues, and “normal school life” involved two girls being in love with him while he refused to admit such a thing could be true.

Everything goes Makoto’s way, always. This is always true for every part of his life save the moments the goddess summons him and pisses him off, but he’s so blindingly dense he rarely ever realizes what’s actually going on, which incidentally is why Zara and Rona constantly call him easy to lead around. He even flies into a tirade when before the goddess during the 3rd summoning and doesn’t even realize how close he was to being killed had Shiki not interceded. But everything goes Makoto’s way, his followers love him, Tsukuyomi made him a Demi-god and now the other gods love him, and he can basically just do whatever the fuck he wants which largely boils down to trying to live a normal life and deny that he’s a walking deity because if he ever admitted to himself what was obvious he’d probably end up like in his dreams.

      3. But that’s not right LegoTechnic. His problem on earth was growing up with two extremely dominating and over talented sisters which cut deep into his self-esteem. This is why throughout the series he has trouble conversing with women and why he can’t believe those two girls actually like him. He sees himself as an unremarkable guy in comparison to others because of his terrible self-esteem, and then all of a sudden a god appears and gives him two choices: send himself to another world or one of his sisters. He chooses former and coincidentally is given god-like powers because the world’s goddess is a stuck up bitch. At this point in the story he has no ambitions, no goals, no anything except to survive in a completely new world. Slowly he gains followers because of his power but more importantly it is because the people who choose to follow him want to see what he will do. See the issue? Makoto never wanted to be some demi-god leading multiple species of another world but as fate (the author) would have it everything just led up to it. Additionally, we see him slowly adopt personality traits from commanding people he meets and this directly influences his growth as a character. So, he is not being spoiled like you think, his followers simply respect his decisions and wait for them to be made. Sure many times his followers do things they believe are in his best interest or not worthy of his attention, but overall he is leading them while slowly growing himself.

Hibiki on the other hand starts off as a character with a lot of entitlement. Sure she faces hardships on the battlefield, but she strongly believes her actions and beliefs are the correct way. Spoiled might not be the best way to describe her, but arrogant definitely fits. Not arrogance regarding physical ability but being arrogant about ideologies, lifestyles, and other social issues. She has had some character growth throughout the novel (mainly realizing how weak she is) but nothing in comparison to Makoto. Still, her entitlement is more subconscious and not really harmful in her role as a hero. In fact, her strong sense of “justice” is part of her charisma, but like Tomoe warned about in this chapter it is also a poison in politics. Although not as powerful as Tomoki’s charm, Hibiki plans to use her charisma and role as hero to reshape the kingdom after the war to what she believes is correct, and that is dangerous. She is a fool who thinks to much of her own opinion rather than seeking the opinion of others. That is why so many people see her as spoiled. The exact opposite is true of Makoto. He recognizes his weakness in thinking ahead and ideologies so he asks more skillful people to take up that role or to give him advice. Both of them are seeking self-satisfaction, rather I do not think you can claim no one in this series is, but I believe it is important how you go about it. I view Hibiki as a person claiming they have some sort of higher moral ground which allows her to justify her thought process and plans. Makoto however knows that he has been both blessed and cursed with his power and followers which in turn gives him to tools to properly mature and explore how to make life better for everyone (demi-human and human).

      4. @LegoTechnic

Nice of you to ignore that Makoto chose to answer the summon, giving up the normal life he wanted, to spare his sister that fate. After which he was essentially tossed to the far end of the earth where the goddess wanted him to die. Or you know that Hibiki is the Hero to a race of racist pricks who got handed power by their Goddess for being pretty and suppressed every other race on their planet. I forget did Hibiki ever question whether she was on the right side of the conflict? Or did being summoned by a god to save Hyumans just stroke her eager even she went along unquestioning (I honestly don’t remember, so let me know.)?

Also given the Goddess breaks deals, keeps fucking with Makoto’s life whenever it’s convenient for her all while simultaneously treating him like shit, and doesn’t seem to give a rats ass about the well being of the people she’s summoned to help her fix a mess she got into by being lazy, and that Tomoki is a human piece of horse excrement, is there any reason presented in the story to have any hope that Hibiki isn’t a similarly shitty human being? This chapter made it very clear that she acts like a hero, but acting is acting, and if I recall correctly her insistence on acting like a hero has gotten one or two people close to her killed. Another way to put that is her pride has gotten people killed. Then there is the fact that she seems unwilling to let Makoto go unchecked despite the fact he has done basically nothing remotely hostile except be more powerful than she cares to let someone be and not have some counter measure against. Nope, nothing worrisome, prideful or manipulative about her.

      5. Well Makoto got his insane magical power was because of himself training in the art of Archery before that there was always the chance of him dying at any time.. The Blessing of the Goddess to his parents only worked for his elder sister..

And on the note on Hibiki is that, out of the three summoned at the other world She is the one doing the works a Hero and at the same not doing it. She thinks her victory on the demon race is already set in stone cause she was chosen and she was successful at everything on the original world. And at the note of her powers she herself may or may not aware of it (the charisma aura) and may fueled the thinking she is justice itself or empowered it., cause of her early successes in that world (Note: winning against the Knight Captain, Having more mana than most mages, having the favor the King etc.). And also on the case of her being manipulative is a case to case bases but her using Makoto and his company to be a destroyer of the devil and demon race is the thing that most people including me thinks she is defective as a hero or a heroine for that matter, noting that Makoto respects her and she plans to use Makoto and his company to destroy the “DEVIL” and empire. Though she has her ups and down, its worth noting that she is more on the Dark grey zone as per her attitude as of now.

      6. “shigh” look it like this.
she came from a world ware she ‘to put it bluntly” had every thing and was bored as hell.
Then a goddess came to her and basically told her “do you want to be a hero Y/N?” and she pick yes so that she will not be bored any more.
now after she became a hero in a kingdom she some what can get anything is she ask for it do to her being a hero.
now here is ware it gets hard to explan after some set back’s IE loseing to the spider of clamaty “aka hungry mio” and was told to retreat after one of her party members comacazy in a war she set of to get stronger and get more stronger party members.
she meat’s with mio, trand a bit and then ask mio to join her party and was instantly rejected.
i don’t want to go on and on but the fact of the type of power she had pick shows how she thinks of others even if it was subconsciously
now if you look at are OP MC Makoto
he a just below average guy whom was born in a super hot looking family and the only thing he stand out was that he good with a bow.
one day a god came to him and sead “do you want to be a hero if not your sister will be given this chose Y/N” and he did want his sister do deal with a hard ships or worst get killed so a pike yes.
as he meat with the godded she told him your no good i wanted your sister’s but i cant send you back so just dye in the corner of my world you discussing thing and drops him.
after 3 days he meats the orc’s and desided he want to help them out of thanks even tho he had the choice of walking away.
after he help them they want to follow him witch he was trubeld by it but excepted it.
after some time and he help a lot of demi-humans and human’s he lured just how humans think of them and just how greedy they can be.

bacillary what im getting at Hibiki was on top and started her life in a new world close to the top and is some what still use to have ever thing go her way wile Makoto was hmm… in the middel in his old world and started on the lower end of the new world and word his way up the top and help there along the way wile still keeping his humble heart with him.

Hibiki might have good way of doing things but is still greedy wile Makoto being humble and is just trying to bild a good home for thos he living with.

but that is what i think it can be right or wrong in any way.

      7. @LegoTechnic @Psychronia and @tasltsrif
I really like you guys discussion so much, though I think you guys forgot something. Though this is a novel, it don’t mean that there must be only one good guy. I wholeheartedly agree that Makoto is certainly spoiled by his OPness, he is capable to do almost anything including fight with a goddess. His character, on other hand, not so spoiled but still show both good and bad side. As showed in recent chapter, he said he would crush all whom he deem as enemies, that show his determination but also prone to misjudge, as he admitted. He is growing and we watch him closely.
At first, I also feel disgusted with Hibiki’s charisma in this chapter, but after see so much haters I rethink it. Hibiki might shown as quite manipulating and opportunistic, but I think that is the best she can do for what she think is a right thing to do, to win this war. Someone claimed that that is an arrogant, but what would you do without a goal in your mind. Don’t forget that she was thrown into war by a country and she don’t like it (at first, at least). Now that she made up her mind to fight for her new friends and ally and you called that wrong!? And for those who called her racist and power-hunger, go back to chapter 174-175 and you would find that she want power for liberate demi-hyuman in first place. That cause her to worry about Kazunoha company because they might cause all of this to fail, by provoke the then-trashmoki empire. She also stopped investigation when warned and gave up Lime when she was rejected, at least she know her line. She was cursed with lack of her political ally who can help improve this plan cause her team are politically inactive or blindly follow her cause her charisma (if it have this disadvantage like charm), her only ally in politic is …. , you know the answer.
In short, she is a relatively-powerless hero who have a big idealistic goal and she pursue it realistically by consider all factor that she know (stupid for not recognize true identity of the devil though). She is like demon lord so much with their plan for they people and cautious towards Makoto, just different side lead to different circumstances and their countermeasures.

Also Thank for this chapter and all previous chapters. I sign up just for this novel and its discussion, you know.

      8. @Hardtobow
No, you’re making really good points. Truthfully, I don’t think there is any strictly “good” side in this story. Every side has some good and bad actions of varying ratios. But I think the point here is that most readers’ perception of Hibiki’s “ratio” swung heavily towards the darker end with this chapter.

I mentioned it in a comment a bit back, but watching how all these characters turn out-yes, even Tomoki-is one of the most compelling investments in this novel for me.

  58. I wonder if Hibiki also got some charismatic charm in her like trashmoki demon eyes. And if when Lime came back, Makoto will detect some faint Hibiki’s charm in lime. Or maybe Hibiki is just that charismatic naturally that it even manages to sway Lime’s decision making.

Makoto is a simple guy, he just want to help people and destroys that purple cloud just for that… little did he know, he helped Lime make a very crucial choice of his life while Makoto was doing that.

    Thanks Reigokai.

    1. There’s nothing magic about it, Hibiki is literally just a charismatic person; she’s a winner at life. Straight-forward, hard-working, intelligent, and pretty in appearance. Additionally she has taken the role of an idol for humanity, so she exudes a heroic celebrity charisma.

She is a charismatic person in a very prominent role, and she quickly earns people’s respect with her honest and forthright actions. No magic is involved beyond possibly good feminine hygiene.

The opposite Tomoki and his magic stink-eye.

      1. I do remember the novel mentioned it several times that Hibiki has “charisma” stat elevated like crazy, but it’s not under spell / skill effect, meaning it cannot instantly bind people heart, but over time her power is more dangerous than evil eye Tomoki has, since it cannot be dispelled. – along that line I guess

    2. chap 30
” The Goddess enhanced her physical strength and gave her strong magic power, on top of that she gave her the charisma to attract other people and conferred her a sacred treasure. ”
i think this answer your question

      1. You must understand this power is not same as power of tomoki. I understand that power is work like improving first opinion and I don’t see anything bad here, for example we improve our appearance for create better impression in first meeting, and probably most of people choose speak with beautiful person than ugly. About charisma of her personality was mentioned by Makoto that she was same on earth, she was council president and people followed by her.

    3. She does. Tomoki has his charm eyes. Hibiki has her charm charisma. If you think about it. It makes sense, the two heroes summoned by the goddess were each given the ability charm the other of the opposite sex. The question is whether Makoto is under the natural charm of his sempai or the goddess-enhanced charm and whether he realizes she’s using people and needs to be “reigned” in. I really want Makoto to curb stomp her a bit, she’s going down the wrong path and just doing the bidding of the goddess. My issue with her point of view is that the hyumans are the naturally dominant species in that world and the whole demi-humans should just be obedient and become slaves and work their way up from there. This will never work, the goddess doesn’t give her blessings to demi-humans and hyumans don’t give a shit about demi-humans. I do hope Tomoe gets around to telling Lime and Makoto the truth that she is literally using her charm to use him, which makes her an enemy.

      1. For me she is actually doing good but the problem is that she prioritizes the after war planning than the actual war itself and also she also he has no qualms using other people (even the said person will lose everything and did nothing)

      2. It not some kind of magic which use for brainwash people, it passive skill for improve her first impression on pepole, for example during siege of capital she mention that there is a lot of aristocratic people who goes against her idea and if she can brainwash people why didn’t do it to them? And in this chapter Lime try choose between his debt to Makoto and his love to Hibiki

    4. hmm… maybe she subconsciously useing the “wight crow hypnosis’s” on others. and before you ask its a type of hypnosis ware you keep puting one thought in to some one mind over and over untill it become there truth and the best case of this is making some one think the color crows is wight.

so she puting a “she the gratis follow her” thoughts in others even tho she not aware she doing it

      1. Tomoki power work this way. About her it probably not because I write she just charismatic person who can stay her opinion and it increase her charisma or it will just not will working on Makoto

      2. I know about that! I used that concept in one of my stories. Constantly having a voice whispering into your subconscious will eventually bend the conscious mind and your underlying personality to their will.

  59. Hibiki starting to sound real creepy. She’s seems clueless but she have ulterior motives. She’s too much of a schemer for how little and how powerless she is. Tomoki on the other hand is an idiot who thinks with his lower part of his body. It feels like she’s going to be a threat to makoto because of how dumb she seem.

    1. That’s precisely because she’s that little and powerless, that she excels in petty tricks and manipulation. AHAHAHAHAHAHAH !

She’s definitely gonna brand MC-chan as evil as a pretext while she’s just unable to accept his superiority.
Just like a spoiled child throwing a tantrum…

      1. well she might get spank if she try’s to pull one over makoto eyes just like…”that” whom tryed to take Tomoki tho with no hiting.and maybe with more shock of just how strong he is.

  60. Hibiki has dedicated all of herself to being a hero, she cares about nothing else. She desired Lime for one reason or another, but Makoto is just such an abnormality that he absolutely dominates.

  61. Thx 4 the chapt…

I dun understand 2hy lot of people dislike hibiki.
Hibiki have natural charisma and like tomoe said she is natural politician. Plus from the start makoto was dumped his role as hero and throwing away… And hibiki got that hero role and told to exterminate demon kin.

Makoto have the followers that will follow him in exchange his power (a place where everyone could living in peace without much worries)… And hibiki have the follower because she act like Sheppard with mission exterminate demon kin

    1. i particulaly dont like her cause of her sly way of doing things and try using people(at least the ones outside her party) while leading them by their noses and posing just as the purest hero ever.

    2. Some people just think that world is of pink coluor. She must just everything she can her hand on so she can defeat the demon lord. She trow in different world 2 fight the Demon army with a crappy military force, that think that the blessing of that can help them with everything. They don’t think of any tactic of what so ever or develop they magic or anything. Nobel’s doing stupid shit as every-time, and they do aspect for her to be schemer. If she is not like how will she win the war??

Well…. there is Fairy Tail(Anime) logic and that is with power friendship.

      Sorry for the bad English.

      1. LOL if i am in his place i found out the cause of the war what they do and bealive and after see a racist people fighting a race that was cronered by them and his stupid godess i get out of there. She is saving a country that is like the germany nazi.

      2. And whose fault is that she is in a different world? No one but herself. And whose fault is that the hyuman is stagnant? Oh right it was the hyuman themselves and some bug lazing around.

      3. Just because the hyumans are incompetent is not enough reason to sit back and let them get steamrolled, esp. when you see there are a lot of honestly good hyumans around. Since she has the power to whip them into shape, it’s not inconceivable for her to try.

    3. Because she is willing to sacrifice a 3 party for the sake of Limia a country of racist people that just got what they deserve, because without any good reason she was ready to involve Makoto and his people even after heard about his circunstances and even tough she claim to be justice and a hero she want to keep a system with a racist godess at his top, in the begining she didnt know about that world but even after learn she still see that trash of hyumans like the good guys. Even facing Lo she says stupid things like the demon race is killing woman and children but she doesnt say nothing about hyumans or she herself doing the same.
She have double or even triple standars like trashmoki.

      1. You have point there. But you must remember that we human are narrow mind assholes sometimes. What i mean is that we will think that everything we human do is good and every other races/species are bad.

  62. I can’t wait for the chapter when makoto shows her the meaning of absolute power. Both those ‘heroes’ need to be knocked down a peg or two….Five or six pegs for whats his face with the brain washing power. Though with him I feel tome will beat him to barely living after he tries controlling her..Can’t come soon enough..
I ranted..Oh well XP thanks for the chapter.

  63. To think that the racial difference on the winged kin are only at their color but their height in flight as well, thats new!

  64. dunno y so many people saying hibiki x lime. from what I see hibiki wants lime is cuz she acknowledge kuzunoha power and wants to replace the void cause by the dead swordwomen

  65. Well… I was asleep when this was updated. So I feel like an idiot. Still, good chapter. Too bad Spoiler-san still thinks I have a cold 😛

    Thanks for the translation, Reigo-senpai.

  66. To be honest, I’m not sure whether Hibiki tried to obtain Lime because of her feelings or because she thinks he’s useful.

  67. I kind of feel that Hibiki’s charm work differently than that other person, I think its like a passive skill. Its like hers are in a party framework where everything complements each other and if there is a void it will seek the best option. Hers are more natural but more insidious, because its not malicious yet comfortable. Like a sense of belonging against a shared purpose, some kind of a comradeship. If not for Makoto’s absurd display of power which shreds common senses, Lime will be still be beguiled.

    1. it more like Tomoe use Makoto power to slap Lime awake from Hibiki’s charm and have him think with a clear head for he was ask to keep en eye on her yet Hibiki with full knowledge he had to go back keep on asking him to work with her to the point Lime was starting to think like the king of the kingdom ware Hibiki live at for name one time the king didn’t say hero-dono when he sees a strong or skillful person or hears a good idea?

  68. Hibiki: “Marry me!”
    Lime: “Nah, I’m a player.”
    Hibiki: “I’m serious!”
Lime: “I only have eyes for Makoto!”

I actually feel a little bad for her heartbreak at the end there, but I guess it’s what she gets for having interest in Lime, who is the literal embodiment of a reprehensible player (though the gorgons like him for it).

    Bonus:
    Brenda: “Hibiki, what about me?”
Hibiki: “You’re a good friend, Breda.”
    Brenda: “…yes. A good friend… ;_;”

    1. Come to think of it, Bredda gets the bummest deal.

Friend-zoned while the girl goes after a womanizer(with enough of a reputation to get tired of being warned about scorned women).

    2. Cheers to that. Still, even if Lime is a player, he knows wjere to draw the line. It may not be true before he got reeducated by Tomoe and Mio though.

  69. And that’s 2 people from kuzunoha that Hibiki tries to recruit but failed. At least this time the party involved was almost accept her invitation, but Lime got his head cleared up hard.

  70. Every time I come here to the comment section, I have to dedicate at least 1 full hour to reading through and commenting on all the interesting stuff that’s post here. I really should go my bed now……leave this for tomorrow…

    1. *salute* You fought the good fight, now rest.

Comments are half the reason I can enjoy this story so much. At this point, I’m sure some college student could bullsh-make the argument in their research paper that back and forth speculation is already a part of the culture. 😀

  71. hibiki feels like the type to say its my way or the express way type. wat a bitch. she notice she is lacking in power and wanna steal other cuz she cant get/train powerful people. she is acting like a hero just to get her power up power up more. a lying hero is a useless hero

    1. Well commentator which dont read chapter properly and remember line from this chapter

Her abnormal ideas and her growth that makes it possible.

  72. hibiki is sly..(opinion)trying to recruit lime as a subsitute for naval coz he fits in the team n strong + have kuzunoha connection..ideal candidate as a spy..should get crushed like what alt makoto did in the dream..

    1. “hibiki is sly..(opinion)trying to recruit lime as a subsitute for naval coz he fits in the team”

isn’t it common sense to replace a dead member who left a hole in the team’s formation?

  73. What I can infer from the Hibiki-Lime series is that either Hibiki is a cunning vixen trying to get a grasp on Makoto or that she already forgot about makoto and had her sights set on Lime who reminded her of her comrade.

    1. She wasn’t “interested” in that kind of way to Makoto. Hibiki admired his bow skills. What are you on about.

  74. tbh this chapter felt more like a POV of Lime, that disappointed me a little but aside from that thanks for the chapter anyways I love to read this Novel.

  75. Cheers for the hardwork as always~

though I gotta say, im surprised… I expected it to some extent, but… wow. Lime was tge one who got ntr’d, and by Makoto no less… though technically, he first swore his fealty to Tomoe and Makoto. But still, I don’t see any reason why Lime can’t be with Hibiki. Is this the so called can’t juggle work/study and lovelife at the same time that is so in trend and popular in Japan? What a waste.

Author: fuwahahaha~ you think there’ll be significant pairings in this novel? weeeelll, too ba~ad. Wudi and that one student of the MC is as much as you can get~ *evil laughs*

    1. well if he change side either Tomoe will erase all of his memory and take back all the equipment he got from the Eldwa as compliment for working in Kuzunoha Company or the simple one of he get erase completely to prevent the leaking of information

    2. Hibiki has already determined that the destruction of Kuzunoha and the Devil are necessary for the safety of Limia. As long as she keeps this mindset, Lime can’t be with her. If he leaves Kuzunoha, Tomoe will go as far as necessary to prevent the leaking of information. She obviously likes him in her own way, but more like a pet. He is expendable in her eyes, and if his actions put Makoto in danger, she’ll remove him. Either by death, or worse.

      1. The funny thing is, if Makoto knew about this, he’d probably be more or less fine with it.

“Say Tomoe, can you remove his memories of Asora then? What if I supply you with the magical power to do it?”
